Platinum #468- Resident Evil. My apologies to anyone on my PSN friend's list who saw "DamagingRob is now online" about a hundred times between yesterday and today. 😅 Should have set it to "Appear Offline" while doing the speedrun.
🎶On the Wings of Tomorrow🎵 Platinum #465 and 100%- Tales of Zestiria.
Finally done, after it seemed like everything in the universe wanted to stop me. Lol. Cloudfare going down, so I couldn't look at the trophy guide. Gamefaqs going down, so I couldn't look at the walkthrough. Two brief power outages, one caused by tornado weather. And myself struggling to find the motivation. Thank God for Spotify.
Platinum #464- Gris. Gave me just the right amount of points to get to Level 79, too. Almost at 80.. Been doing this way too long.
Ugh.. Back to Tales of Zestiria, I suppose. I don't even hate it. Yet. Lol. But I'm not really making as much daily progress as I'd like, so it's taking forever. :/
Platinum #462- L.A. Noire (PS4). All these years later, and still awesome. Would kill for a sequel. Really enjoyed replaying it, as I had largely forgotten everything, and love mystery stuff. I couldn't even say if this amazing fast travel system existed in the original. Place a marker on the map, hold triangle for the A.I. to drive, and after a short loading screen you are there.
And now that I've had a break, and who knows when I'll be able to continue Far Cry Primal, I guess it's time for the RE2 DLC... Save me? :/
I also finished watching the Kill la Kill anime, which I have been slowly doing on the side. And man, I fricking loved it! Even more happy I played the game, because it introduced me to something amazing.
I guess there's one benefit to a bad memory: replaying L.A. Noire after all these years, and everything feels fresh. Lol. I wasn't really planning to play it right now, but unfortunately, my copy of Far Cry Primal is a dud..
I was able to play the prologue, and thus earned a trophy in it. But the install won't finish. Tried everything. Deleting and reinstalling, rebuilding the database, etc. So, back to GameStop it will probably go. Unless I just eat it. Only paid $7.50 for it, and I don't know what it would cost to ship it back. At least half that, I'd imagine.
I was worried about it, as soon as I saw the condition of the disc. I had to return so many brand new anime DVD sets when I was buying those, because of scratches on the discs causing them to skip at a certain point. *Sigh* Why couldn't it have not worked at all, at least? Now it's just going to sit there at 2% and haunt me.
Uncharted 4 now at 100%! One less incomplete game, though I'll never get them all done. In the end, ended up being carried through a lot of it. Lol. Never did get RNG to give any of us the Shield of Asgard (to guard our asses ), so couldn't properly start. Rely on RNG, or just outright buy it with real money. Not great options, either way..
@Mako found someone who got us through Stages 1-7 with 3 stars. But then he left during Stage 8. 😢 He later finished with some other players, but was going to help once we got the Shield.
I was playing some today, and ran into another pro who asked what levels I still needed 3 stars in. And well, now we don't need to grind daily challenges anymore.
So yeah, just get carried is my advice. DLC is ridiculously hard, and these elite players use a technique where they snap a boss's neck in seconds. It's crazy. Thanks again to @calamity700 for the help. Though having never visited the site, she may never see this. :/
Platinum #461- Shadow of the Colossus (PS4). Couldn't turn down the chance to replay one of my all-time favorites, with a shiny new coat of paint. It does look gorgeous compared to the PS3 version. And the colossi have never been... fluffier.
The grind for maximum stamina and health is pretty brutal, though. I don't think it felt as bad on PS3, because you had to collect the fruit and lizards. Which made the colossi grind a lot shorter. And thank goodness there's a way to get on a hawk without being on the horse. I don't know if I ever would have done it, otherwise..
I also noticed the guy would stop running quite frequently. Think my controller has the dreaded dead zone in the left analog stick, so that's going to be a fun handicap to deal with. :/ Really not having great luck with DS4s since my original, which lasted years.
Should go back to RE2 now, I suppose.. I should have known SotC was too good a game, and would keep me away from it. Really too much work for a 21% Plat. Probably should have just bought the dumb DLC with the infinite missile launcher, and blown everything to hell.
Platinum #460- Kill la Kill: IF. I play a lot of games where the goal is to strip the clothes off your opponent. :/ Anyways, this was a pretty fun arena fighting game, despite some of my frustrations with getting S ranks in story mode. And dealing with my arch-nemesis, RNG, for another trophy.. But the rest of it was real easy. Survival mode is a joke now, thanks to Mako.
Need to set aside some time to watch the show, I think. Bought the game, 'cause I enjoyed the demo. But haven't watched the anime. And after playing this, I really want to. Badass fights, badass music, likeable characters, and scantily clad women. Seems like a fun time to me.
Oh, boy.. That was, uhh, something. Platinum #459- Kotodama: The 7 Mysteries of Fujisawa. Easier to just link the write-up:
I guess it wasn't too bad for $7.50. But I hope the other VNs I bought from GameStop are a lot better. :/
One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do... Platinum #458- Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime. That might just be the quickest UR Plat I've ever done. Not sure why it has so many URs, considering it's mostly easy. But the level with a time limit is a fricking nightmare! Reminds me of those damn Sound Shapes levels, where you're just hoping and praying for the right layout, and for nothing to go wrong during your run. Probably a lot easier with a human partner, rather than the dumb A.I..
Platinum #457- Persona 5. That... was a long one. 107 and a half hours. With less than 10 of those spent on a short New Game+ playthrough. I think it kinda grew on me, since I lasted till the end. But I still prefer P4G.
This one, I don't know. Just a few things that bugged me. Like not being able to use a revive item on the main character, when everyone else can be revived. And enemies can hit with instant kill attacks, so if he gets hit with one, it's Game Over. Eventually started playing on Safe difficulty, so I wouldn't have to worry about losing 30+ minutes of progress each time that happened... But then you level up like crazy, and it becomes way too easy. So, I don't know what the best way to go is.
Some of the dungeons themselves seemed to stretch on for an eternity, too. And the super boss... That felt like more cheapness, with almost reaching the end and getting hit with a rare critical, causing you to instantly lose the fight.
But overall, it's a really good game, and was worth getting. Just felt to me like P4G did everything better. It could be a case of FF7itis, though. That was my first FF, and I don't think it will ever be replaced as #1 in my mind.
Platinum #454- School Girl/Zombie Hunter. I don't know what possessed me to go back to this steaming pile of crap, but at least it's done. What a nightmare... Extremely tedious to play through 3 times, play missions again and again and again for weapon drops, and SSS rank every mission on every difficulty. Stay far away, for the love of God. But if you do decide to play it, farm the WNY-P03 [XO/D] Assault Rifle from Chapter 5 before tackling the harder playthroughs. It shreds everything that isn't a boss.
Platinum #455- Crossing Souls. A much better game, and was an absolute steal for $3.74. I think my only complaints are the high amount of missables (I was very lucky I like to explore, and got those profiles at the beginning), and a certain section where a character moves like a snail. Makes sense for plot purposes, but having to solve a puzzle that requires him in that state is kind of annoying. But the rest was fantastic. Great soundtrack, retro vibe (loved the animated scenes), and fun gameplay. And that ending. :')
It's kind of an old school beat 'em up/platformer, with some other gameplay surprises sprinkled throughout. And you have five different characters with different abilities to switch between. It can be somewhat tough at times, but not to the point of me raging at it. Difficulty was just right, even if it got a little nuts and hairy during some boss fights. Luckily, I was usually stocked up on healing items.
Too bad it's no longer on sale, but maybe it will be again.
Pat' Mahomes with the cannon, like it was Madden. Platinum #453- Madden NFL 20. This one was a lot less painful than 19, and I actually enjoyed it. If you want a single Madden Plat, this is the one to go for. Shout out to @Mako for helping with the online.
It's kinda weird I haven't played one in so long. Actually really like the sport, and watch it every week during football season. Actually was a very big sports junkie, and watched almost every Cubs and Bulls game, too. But baseball and basketball have way too many games per season, so I have really cut down on those two. Lol.
Foosball is the devil, Bobby Bushay! Platinum #452- Madden NFL 19. What a pain in my ass this one was.. I had done everything perfectly in the story, and then messed up right at the end. Autosave kicked in, and I had to try and perfect the final game against the Patriots. It wasn't happening. Buncha cheaters. .-. Had to restart, and do it all over again. Chose to watch a movie in pieces during the unskippable cutscenes. And then there's having to win a game with every team.. So boring. 😴
20 was a lot better. Only a couple of mildly annoying trophies, and not much of a grind. Still need to finish its online, though. Know someone who's willing to help, but would boost it with someone who needs them if you can catch me before then. At which point, I'll yeet it from my system.
Huh? You feel alone? Yeah, I kinda feel alone. Wonder if that feelin' ever goes away when you get old. Platinum #451- Sea of Solitude. Yes, this is backwards. Shut up. Finished it a couple days ago, but hard to find the right words to describe it. Read an interview with the creator about it after, and it seems to deal with issues of loneliness. Which is the reason for the NF quote. I've probably felt some of the emotions on display in it (and may still do), so it was interesting to play through. It started out feeling like an anti-bullying message, but grew from there.
I kinda wanted to figure stuff out myself, so just used Powerpyx's collectible guide as I played through. Had to resort to the video walkthrough a couple of times, though, when I couldn't find one. :/
Platinum #449- A Way Out. Huge shout out to @snakebit10for playing through it with me. Had always wanted to try it, but having no one to play it with kept me from buying. :/ And I still haven't, since I opted to get a month of EA Access instead. $5 to play this and a few other games was definitely worth it.
And Platinum #450- Final Fantasy VIII Remastered! Getting the rest of those kills took a bit. Wasn't as close as I'd hoped. But now one of my favorite games from my childhood is a milestone. Time to get some sleep. 😴
"When something smells, it's usually the Butz." Platinum #447- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.
A trip back in time for me, as I have played the last one before. Why only the last one? Well... I bought it on a whim to have something to do during one of my family's long car ride moving trips, which happened probably twice a year for most of my childhood and going into early adulthood. I am now traumatized by the mere thought of moving. :/
But "moving" on, I loved that game and even replayed it. So, this was likely my third time going through the third game. I never did get around to buying the first two on the DS, but they are also very good. And give a lot of backstory I previously missed out on. I'll talk more about it in the MRP thread, but know that you are in for a wild and fun ride with these. Might have to suspend your disbelief some.
And, since I have FF8 almost ready to pop for my next milestone, I didn't see any reason to continue sitting on this one: Platinum #448- Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight.
Some catchy tunes, but I would personally say the music has gotten better in future installments. Haven't played Persona 3, and so had no real attachment to anyone either. But it was still fun.
And Happy Mother's Day, everyone!
Platinum #446- Digimon World: Next Order. Ugh.. Decent enough game until you beat it, and have to grind for 60+ hours to get the Plat. So painfully boring, running around the game world, harvesting materials to build everything, and then continuing to harvest for cards.
And I'm surprised maxing out the Tamer Level isn't the rarest trophy, considering I had to grind out fight after fight after fight for it, after finishing everything else..
Coming to you live from Digimon hell, or at least I probably am after the countless slaughter of digital monsters.
This Japan sale is just like the previous one; too much on sale that I want. :/ Definitely getting the Persona Dancing collection. All 3 games for $22 is a no-brainer. After that, I'm a bit unsure what to get. Have 4 games under $10 that I'm interested in, but no way am I buying them all. Lol. Dropped almost $70 in the last one of these, and then two of the games are cheaper in this sale. ._. So trying to hold back a bit this time. Not like I actually need more games...
The games I'm considering:
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven
Root Letter: Last Answer
Tokyo Dark: Remembrance
Imagine the chances of anyone playing all of those is pretty microscopic, but there they are if anyone wants to provide input. I don't know how much extra content Last Answer has, and if it's worth a repurchase. Onimusha being a PS2 game.. Some of those age really well, and others not so much. Jojo on PS3 was fun. Tokyo Dark I knew nothing about, but it caught my eye while browsing the sale and sounds interesting.
The one thing I can't do is buy Onimusha and Tokyo Dark. Would be a little short. My options are Jojo and Root Letter, Jojo and Onimusha/Tokyo Dark, or Root Letter and Onimiusha/Tokyo Dark~
Platinum #445- Yakuza Kiwami. Here we see live footage of me playing this game:

@DamagingRob The lore and universe of Yakuza are pretty interesting, I must admit. I don't consider myself a fan of most JRPG lore and the cartoonish appeal of stuff like Dragon Ball Z, but Yakuza is one I've been meaning to get into.
I have this game via Plus but I've been hesitant to start it.
If that's truly you there, you seem like a pretty upstanding guy. Good job on the platinum.
@Spaz Lol. I'm 99% sure an actual gif of myself doesn't exist, but who knows? I don't usually sit around in my underwear, either. Game had some really frustrating things that were needed for the Plat, which I went into more detail on in the MRP thread. They're really fun games, but completing them can be a real pain.. Probably why most of them are UR.
I personally wouldn't recommend starting with this one. Zero takes place before it, and is a much better game. It also gives you more attachment to characters in this one, so things that happen resonate more. But I started with one I got through Plus, so it's understandable if you go that route.
Kiwami has me feeling like burnt toast, and I don't know why. 0 took twice as long, but didn't feel as draining.. Getting 100% was exhausting, and now I don't even want to do these Climax Battles after failing the first one several times. :/
And with how frustrating it was to finish the gambling games, mahjong, and Haruka's requests, has me questioning is trophy hunting really worth it? Could probably be doing something more productive with my time. Not sure what, but something. Ugh..

Happened to me when I played those games back to back.
As much as I love the series, it's best to space them out so that you don't get burnt.
But yea climax battles in kiwami are one of the hardest.. so I don't blame you.
As for Haruka's request..
"Oji-San, can you get 500000000 points in poker? Oji-San, can you buy me a bulletproof vest and a knife! Oji-San can you get 950 points in otometal?!!!!"
well... she deserves one of those
