  1. As others have mentioned, you'll need the Royal Pack in addition to what you already own to have access to all the primary content. Here's the contents of the Royal Pack taken straight from the PS Store page: New Features: ・Insomnia City Ruins - new map leading straight to the game's climactic end ・First-Person View - mode allowing players to see Eos through Noctis's eyes ・Armiger Unleashed - powered-up combat mode ・Royal Cruiser - open-sea exploration, new fishing spots and recipes ・Regalia Type-D - new acquisition and enhancement quests ・Additional Trophies And as Kristycism pointed out to anyone wondering, the physical Royal Edition of the game is the best way to get everything. Not only is it the cheapest option (just $20 USD compared to the $30 USD total of buying both the Season Pass and Royal Pack off the PS Store), it's also the only way to get the Comrades expansion.

If people spontaneously setting up a private server that excludes others or the settings/conditions of the server environment being altered from the original are a potential issue, why not set up some official site regulations with site-endorsed servers? Like, maybe expand the site staff to include select, trusted individuals that will have the rights to host legitimate servers that users can have access to. Maybe add a new section to the forums where announcements on these servers can be made that explicitly outline what times these servers will be up and for which games. Perhaps there could even be a sign-up a week or so prior to each event to keep track of who exactly has partaken in them. If a user's time stamps for the related trophies don't fall in line with the server postings or their names aren't on the sign-up sheet, then they can be easily identified as illegitimate. I'd imagine this is all a little easier said than done, though. I've got no clue what the funding for this site is nor how it's allocated. Hiring more staff (I'm assuming the site staff is compensated in some way) could possibly be too expensive for all I know. There's also the issue of just how many users would make use of this compared to the cost it'd take to maintain (also working under the previous assumption). Maybe keep this utility exclusive to Premium Members or charge some small fee per session to minimize costs? I'd totally pay $5 to finish Ghostbusters. However, with only two games reportedly working with these servers so far, Demon's Souls and Bulletstorm, it's probably a bit premature to enact something like this. In general though, if it's decided that monitoring this kind of thing is more effort than it's worth, then I think that's fine. In spite of my immense dislike for online trophies and the limitations they impose, they were more or less given the time needed to accomplish them at one point in time, and if it's decreed that official server shutdowns mark the end for them, I say that's fair enough. I'm just spitballing a suggestion.
  4. I wasn't trying to defend the OP in any way, and I'm well aware of the inconsistencies and question dodging throughout the whole thread. It's just that people were saying that completing Ultra-Violence! on your first run was downright impossible on PS3. If this case were to be used as any sort of precedent, then a lot of innocent people could potentially be flagged in the future. It seemed that nobody making any claims on this still had a copy of the game, so I just took it upon myself to verify since I still had mine sitting on my shelf. If you ask me, this dispute is all bunco, especially with those BioShock timestamps brought into light (I too am a BioShock fan). I just personally wasn't comfortable with falsities being used as facts.
  5. Not trying to take any sides here, but because it was mentioned earlier, I went ahead and booted up my copy of Deadpool on a fresh user to verify if Ultra-Violence! is available from the start. I can confirm that on a NA retail PS3 copy of Deadpool, Ultra-Violence! is indeed playable as soon as you start the game. I don't know if there's some differences between different versions and regions, though. There was mention of a patch, but my game would not update. I tried starting the game on my personal user connected to my PSN to see if that'd get it going, but nothing happened and I wasn't signed out like I would usually be playing an unpatched game.

  7. Holy hell, man, thanks for including me in the winner's list. I'm really grateful that you did that even though I was technically kicked off. Kind of regret having started up Super Meat Boy now, but I'll try to plow through it sometime as a sort of penance for this.
  8. I was wondering if we'd start getting more characters with overlapping skillsets. As someone who likes playing Orisa, I'm looking forward to seeing Brigitte's spin on Reinhardt's playstyle. Though if we had to get another melee fighter, I would've preferred something faster and kind of hack n' slash-ish. And how is she thicc? Even with the armor, her figure doesn't look particularly curvy, especially in the concept art and story trailer. With how often I see that term used, I'm convinced it doesn't actually mean anything anymore.

  11. There's a very high possibility that I'm just incredibly dense, but I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at with the answer to the second question. I'm guessing you're trying to say that the PS4 Pro was more-so a cheap way to condition console gamers into accepting the two-console system rather than actually providing a higher technological experience, which would explain its overall haphazardness. That's my cynical side talking though, and it would be foolhardy to assume everyone on the internet is as jaded as I am. Anyway, if the PS5 is going to continue the two-console system with only the higher end console being capable of 60 FPS, they're not really "fully eliminating console gaming's biggest weakness," they're kinda just capitalizing on said weakness by justifying a higher price point with the existence of the weaker console. Like, let's say the weaker console is considered the default price point, let's say $400 for familiarity's sake. If they release both consoles at the same time, they can charge the stronger console for maybe $100 more and justify it by saying, "Look at how much better it is than the PS5 Pleb Edition!" all the while completing brushing aside the fact that we should definitely have a system capable of 60 FPS at the basic $400 by that point in time. This is something the casual consumer would probably ignore or just be oblivious to, but it's very likely it'll agitate or annoy the enthusiasts, which I would only assume is something you don't want if you want to prevent your consumer-base from jumping ship to PC. I don't entirely agree with this statement. Stagnation would still be an issue since the weaker hardware would still be present, thus restricting just how far developers can go with the stronger hardware. Assuming every piece of (or at least the vast majority of) PS5 software is going to be compatible with each of the existing consoles, such as the case with the PS4 and PS4 Pro, the developers would still need to work within the constraints of the weaker console to ensure everyone has the opportunity to play their games. This would mean either the Pro version of the game can only be upgraded so much (perhaps only in frame rates and resolutions), or the Basic version will be horribly butchered in comparison to compensate. If it's the former, I think you might be overestimating just how many people would be willing to shift to the stronger console years into the console cycle, especially if both options were present since day one. Now, if it's announced before launch that after a certain point in time the weaker console would be abandoned to further development on the stronger one, the question would be: Why bother buying the weaker one? If you knew without a doubt that you're system is already dated and would be left behind a few years later, why not spend the extra $100 the first time rather than perhaps the $250 when you need to upgrade? The only answer I can think of would be if it were never announced in the first place, which would without a doubt anger quite a number of people, especially if both consoles shares the PlayStation 5 name. That heavily implies you'll be getting the entire PlayStation 5 experience, regardless of which console you picked up. To wrap things up, I don't think 30 FPS is the biggest issue consoles have. For starters, it's not like consoles are completely incapable of 60 FPS. Developers just choose to sacrifice those frames for higher graphical fidelity. I think consoles' biggest issue at the moment (in terms of just technological prowess, that is) is that PC can have its cake and eat it too, at a better price point at that. Consoles have to constantly choose one thing over another, and as the years go on within a console generation, the gap between console and PC keeps getting bigger. The only way I can see to remedy this is to release a console that's closer to a high-end gaming rig from the start. However, they'd either need to sell at a loss or risk intimidating consumers with a high price point, both of which are pretty risky.
  12. I just felt like mentioning this since it seems that some people are still unaware, but the PS2 on PS4 category wasn't removed, at least not from the US store. It was just relocated to a rather unintuitive spot. Go to Games>Explore and scroll all the way to the right. It should be there along with the All Games, Top Games, and Free-to-Play tabs.
  13. If all you need to be eligible for a Steam key is to have the game's trophy list, couldn't you load the game on a PS4, submit a claim, and then just delete the list afterwards? I would assume you'd probably need at least one trophy, but if not, that'd be a simple way to get around having an uncompletable list on your profile.
  14. If you like DRPGs, I recommend Demon Gaze. It has one or two moments of bullcrap, but the difficulty's usually fair throughout and I thought it was pretty fun. I'm going to assume you're at least tolerant of fanservice based on your avatar. The instances of it are few and far in-between, but it does come out of nowhere at times and might be a bit jarring. If you haven't already played it on another system, Rayman Origins is a damn great platformer. I haven't tried the other versions of the game for comparison's sake, but I didn't feel like the Vita version was lacking in terms of control and performance. As for VNs, I'd recommend either the Danganronpa or Zero Escape games. Danganronpa is really anime with its themes and character tropes, while Zero Escape is a lot more down-to-earth in comparison. Neither are pure VNs, mind you, with the former being filled with courtroom-styled minigames, and the latter being a room escape puzzle game. Danganronpa likes to constantly remind you about its themes by repeating it every chance it gets, but it's not as ridiculous as something like Kingdom Hearts's fascination with the word "darkness". If you don't already know, the Zero Escape series started on the DS, so the first game, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, is exclusive to that system. I played the second game, Virtue's Last Reward, without much knowledge of the first, and I didn't feel like I was missing anything from the experience. The game fills you in on anything you need to know about the previous title, which really isn't anything if you ask me, but if you're a stickler for playing games in order of release, that may be an issue. VLR also controls a little awkwardly, but it's easy to adapt to and gets better with the third game. Of course, none of these recommendations mean anything if you've already played them. I probably should have looked at your trophy lists before typing everything out, but I didn't, so whatever. I apologize in advance if that's the case.
