  1. I finally finished organizing all my games. The PS3 and PS4 games are in separate racks now.

Dishonored came in with a generic case. :/ But thanks to my Dad, @NERVergoproxy, and @PooPooBlast, I managed to print off some nice covers to slip in over the generic cases. Not the best, but certainly better than nothing. :3

  2. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

I just finished Act 1. I'm farming the Death From Above trophy on the guards from the starting point.

    ~ L.G. <3

  3. Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 came in a generic box. 🙃🙃 Which is no big deal, even though I would have preferred the actual box art.

I will be highly disappointed if Dishonored comes in a generic box because I got the GOTY edition, and that art is really cool and minimalistic. For that, maybe I WILL be tempted to print out the box art. X3

      That's the one, yeah!

  4. I've been seeing a lot of discourse about GameStop's used games recently. I was asked by someone if GS was so bad, why did I continue to buy used games from there, when I could just as easily find them somewhere else such as eBay or Amazon. I saw another guy say he was never shopping at GS again because all of his used games came in that generic box.

I'm just curious what some of your opinions are on GameStop, or used games in general. Some people refuse to buy used because the profit doesn't support the developer of the game.

Feel free to discuss away. But please respect others opinions. :)

@Dreakon13 Its when you purchase something online and then instead of delivering it you choose a store close to you that has the stock and you pay for it online and they just put it aside and you go in and pick it up within a week

    3. Dreakon13

      Dreakon13

@Madara Uchiha Oh, yeah there are a lot of places that do that in the States too.  I think the bigger box stores have been doing it for a while, but a lot of other businesses adopted it (as well as curbside pickup) out of necessity to stay open with the virus.

Oh well. Getting a generic box really isn't that big of a deal for me. Though if Dishonored comes in a generic box, I'll be a bit disappointed.

It seems It's random if you get a generic box or not. The last game I ordered from them was Dragon Age Origins, and that came with the actual box.

But my order came in pretty quickly! I ordered on the 22nd and it was here this morning. The figure was new in box, as expected. The disc to SGW2 came in a sleeve in the box, but probably for safety measures.

  5. Thank you, @PooPooBlast, for the recommendation! The winner was Dishonored. I found a copy of The GOTY edition pretty cheap. I'll be getting a lot of mail from Game Stop. X3

I saw that others also recommended games in your status update that you might be interested in so you can give those a try as well.

You can also ask if you're unsure :)

  6. It's been a while guys. 😁

So I went on an adventure. I've never really liked shooters at all. I tried a few when I was younger - Borderlands, Uncharted [? Does that count? X3], playing some co-op with my brother or friends - but I never really got into it, or saw the appeal really.

But I decided to try something new. I saw an ad for Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts, so I waited for it to go on sale. 60 bucks is really a lot of money if you're not even sure you'll enjoy the game. ^^' AND I LOVED IT!! My first proper FPS with a high emphasis on stealth and sneak gameplay?? Y e s please. I liked it so much I bought SGW3 when it went on sale, and I ordered SGW2 used from Game Stop. [As well as a Pop figure of Lion Sora. 😍😍]

That being said, I prefer Contracts over 3, and I'm so. Excited. That Contracts is getting a sequel! I hope it comes out around my birthday. I'm thinking of streaming some SGW3 soon.

Moral of the story: you never know unless you try. I was a bit hesitant to try Contracts. Like said, I never really liked any shooter game in the past, so it was a big risk for me. I waited for it to be on sale because I didn't want to be out 60 bucks and a game I hated. Just so happened that SGW3 went on sale a day or two after I finished Contracts. I want to try to platinum 3! Considering I haven't gotten a platinum since December of last year. ^^'

So don't be afraid to try new things!

@Icebrand1270 the series is a nice way to spice my gaming library up. When I told some of my friends, they were shocked because I normally go for RPGs, detective games, or cute indie titles.

@Suicide_Tortuga I have seen my brother play the first three. I'm not sure if there are any more after those, honestly, but from what I've seen Infinite looks pretty interesting.

    3. zizimonster

      zizimonster

Wolfenstein: The New Order and The Old Blood are amazing. But, if you enjoy stealth more, I recommend you play Deus Ex.

Far Cry 3 can also be stealthed, but it's not a stealth game. The best stealth-action game I platinumed recently was Mark of the Ninja: Remastered. It even has a new game plus mode which makes the player die in one hit, so you have to stealth, stealth, stealth. :D

    4. Lady_Galleth

      Lady_Galleth

I have been looking into Far Cry, but personally I think the story of 5 would be more my speed.

@Lady_Galleth correct. I just personally feel that the original might look better with unreal 4 (it was made using unreal 3) or I suppose unreal 5 now that it's on the horizon based off of the demo we got this year.

Highly doubt it'll get remastered though. There's no incentive from a business point of view

  9. In other news! I believe I managed to fix my blue controller using a handy dandy YouTube guide to "recalibrate" the thumbsticks. If at all possible, I wanted to either somehow fix the blue one, or replace it with the same model. Easier said than done, seeing as it was a limited edition. But it looks like I fixed it! Someone special to me bought it for me before they passed.

Which video did you use. I have a controller I have been meaning to try fix for awhile. The stick drift is bad enough I cant use it anymore. Assuming that is what your issue was as well.

  11. Dragon Age Origins - DLC

So I bought the Ultimate Edition used, and I just finished the in game DLC [Wardens' Keep, Stone Prisoner, and Return to Ostagar], and I found them .... Really boring, short, and disjointed. Return to Ostagar had a LOT of potential. But the Wardens .... go to the ruin .... of the final battle ... that devastated the order .... for a key. And the King's armor???? I mean. Really? Okay.

I hope Awakening, Witch Hunt, Amgarak, and Leliana's Song are better.

  12. Does anyone have any good detective game recommendations, either ps3 or ps4.

    I've played:

    The Sherlock Holmes games

    LA Noire

    Murdered Soul Suspect

    Black Mirror

    The Sinking City

    Virginia

    The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

    Heavy Rain

I was thinking maybe the ABC Murders, Agatha Christie. But any games like the above list would be appreciated. My birthday is coming up, and I want to buy myself a gift. X3

    Please and thank you.

  14. Hey guys!

Just a heads up. I'm thinking about livestreaming The Lion King sometime next week! I've never streamed anything before, but I think it would be fun. If you'd be interested, leave a like on my status. :3

  15. Platinum number 38 - Doctor Who The Eternity Clock. 😎

This one took me forever, as I had to uninstall a patch preventing certain trophies from unlocking. But, of course, being a digital game, my save file also got deleted so I had to start all over. But thank you @EqualityEarth, for keeping me motivated and for providing tips through this timey - wimey journey.

[David is still best Doctor, fite me. X3]

    ~L.G. <3

  16. Platinum 37 - Black Mirror [Nothing to do with the show. X3]

This was a surprising change of pace, but a little stale coming fresh off of The Sinking City, that did Lovecraftian horror so much better than this game.

It was an intriguing story, yes, but the technical issues and lame puzzles made it not worth the full price for me. 35 bucks worth of entertainment - no. 7 bucks? Yes. It's glitchy, and the frame rate is downright atrocious sometimes.

Sometimes, the story feels rushed and disconnected, I feel like it needed a few more chapters to flesh out some characters.

But overall, a good ghost story with horrible controls and nearly unplayable lagging.

    ~L.G. <3

  17. I picked up a few things from the flash sale. Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock [even though I prefer 10, David Tennant. X3 Matt is okay too.], and Black Mirror. I've heard pretty iffy things about it, but I love detective stories, Scotland, and I adored The Sinking City.

Second thing on the agenda, THE LION KING REMASTER!!! And Aladdin, but I've not played Aladdin. I remember playing TLK with my father early mornings on our computer. I'm super stoked!!

  18. I'm back! And just a heads up, everyone, I don't accept blank friend requests! So if you want to message me on PSN or send me a friend request, just say you're from PSNP. :3 please and thank you.

Now, back to The Sinking City.

  20. Hey guys.

I know it's been a WHILE, so here I am going to try to explain what's going on.

I've had, recently, someone really close to me pass away in a very tragic and surprising way. It's been really, really difficult for me, as well as my family.

Because of this, my depression and anxiety have been acting up really badly lately. I hardly want to do anything, just sleep. I do battle with really bad depression ever since middle school, but I'm taking medicine and seeing a therapist.

I just wanted to let you all know why I disappeared for a while.

No thank YOU buddy. :D Made my week.

  22. :platinum: Platinum # 33 - Fe

Great visuals, great sound design, but lacking in the story, and loose controls. Man did the controls suck for me. I had more problems than any other game I've played.

But it reminded me of Zelda and Okami. I'll start on The First Tree next, though that one has no platinum.

It's still nice to see my trophy count go up. X3 😍

    ~L.G. <3

  23. :platinum: Platinum 32 - The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

I loved it! Sort of better than Crimes and Punishments, which after playing The Testament, I've discovered is a prequel to The Testament. It goes, I think, Crimes and Punishments, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, and the The Devil's Daughter.

Like I said, you could tell it was an older engine, with the different UI and gameplay, but never the less I liked it.

    SPOILERS

I was right. Moriarty was involved. It was quite obvious if you know the stories of "The Empty Hearse" and "Reichenbach Falls". Complete with fake Sherlock suicide, depressed John, the triumphant return, reveal of Moriarty, blah blah blah.

    END OF SPOILERS

Now that I've finished all three Sherlock games in the PlayStation, I don't know what to do with my life. X3 I have some other games in my queue that I'm interested in, though.

I don't know. It's a lot to consider. Thank you all.

  24. I'd say about 90% of my games are used, from GameStop. They work really well. I don't mind buying a used game, especially if it's an older game.

Out of all the game I got from GameStop, I ordered 3 from their website. I've not had any significant problems with them EXCEPT Sherlock! In the two days that I've had it, I've encountered 4 bugs, as well as some frame rate dips. It's an older game, sure, but the sound glitches stem from the worn out disc, right? Like it hasn't been cleaned properly?

The bugs were corrected by just exiting and re entering the game, so no big deal, but It's given me a few frights that I wasn't going to be able to complete it.

      Spaz

I haven’t dealt with GameStop in years, mostly because of their policies and their consistency to hire people who don’t know much about games in general.

Tekken 7 and Titanfall 2 should be easily on the shelves where you can grab them easily. Usually brand new AAA games are behind the counter so you either have to ask for the game or preorder it so you don’t have to worry about it going out of stock.

I said my opinion on preorders and how there’s not much point to them anymore. What’s even more stupid is doing the midnight release thing. I used to partake in them in the past during the PlayStation 2 heydays, but with so many games and with AAA games being readily available anyway I don’t see the fuss about midnight release.

    3. ResoluteRock

      ResoluteRock

@DamagingRob Now that you mention it, I did have that blinking bug a few days ago. I started the game up and the whole world kept flashing in black and white, even the loading screen. I tried playing it for about 2 minutes like that before I closed the application and started again lol

    4. Lady_Galleth

      Lady_Galleth

Wow guys, a lot of GameStop input. X3 I think It's fun to read other people's opinions.

  25. The Testament of Sherlock Holmes

It's really good so far! The controls were certainly improved in the other titles, I would certainly say. X3 That and the interface.

And I'd already say that I deduced who did the thing.

    SPOILERS

It's obviously Moriarty. I've seen a screenshot of him, and The game's story is taking heavy influence from "The Empty Hearse," and "Reichenback".

    END OF SPOILERS

That being said, I'm still interested in this game's twists of how it portrays that famous story. So far, Frogware can shut up and take my money for the ninth installment of the Sherlock Adventures. 😊
