  1. Back in the PS1, I was rolling with Zidane, Garnet, Eiko, and Steiner. Probably not the most optimized group but I got it done way back in 2000.
  2. Nice topic. Hits the gaming nostalgia button. Before I was trophy hunting, I was an achievement hunter when these digital, permanent record points was started on Xbox 360. It sure started a new trend in gaming. Anyways, my first ten PlayStation platinums: 1) Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (12/17/2012) I had play first the game that Xbox fans were jealous of. 2) Assassin's Creed 2 (1/2/2013) The first of my Platinum/1000 double dips. 3) Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (1/30/2013) Double dip #2 4) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (2/19/2013) Loving this PlayStation-exclusive series. 5) Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (5/2/2013) Felt great to play this JRPG with an old school JRPG feel. 6) Tekken Tag Tournament HD (5/16/2013) Used to play this hardcore in the arcades back in the day. It's nice to get a platinum for it years later. 7) uDraw Studio: Instant Artist (6/22/2013) The uDraw Tablet was clearanced at Target for $14... 8) Pictionary Ultimate Edition (7/24/2013) ... and it's fellow uDraw game was clearances at $5. 9) Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (8/4/2013) I never 1000ed it on 360. It was great to finally complete it. 10) Enslaved: Odyssey to the West (9/2/2013) Great game, boring looking 10th platinum milestone. This topic got me nostalgic on my first ten Xbox Base Game 1000s, aka Xbox platinums. I fired up the 360 just to note them lol. 1) Fight Night Round 3 (4/15/2007) The grandfather of my platinum/1000 life. 2) TMNT (6/20/2007) I heard it was an easy 1000. It was actually pretty fun too. 3) Tenchu Z (7/3/2007) One of From Software's earliest games. 4) Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End (4/23/2007) I'm a big fan of the movie franchise. The game? Uhh... the graphics were really good. 5) DiRT (4/26/2008) It was a little over a year till I got my next 1000. 6) SoulCalibur 4 (8/28/2008) I really loved the Soul series. I was the first Platinum Edgemaster of the Phoenix in SoulCalibur 2 at Family Fun Arcade in Granada Hills, CA USA (one of the American FGC's most popular arcades before they closed down). 7) Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth (10/20/2008) Probably THE FIRST easy completion game. Three minutes to 1000. 8) NBA 2K6 (10/28/2008) Probably the last time the NBA 2K series was an easy completion. 9) Naruto: The Broken Bond (1/4/2009) Playstation really missed out on this Ubisoft Xbox 360 exclusive. 10) Dead Space (2/21/2009) Such an awesome game. Now if Nintendo will implement their own brand of trophies/achievements...
  3. Nice. Congratulations!!
  4. My second alt is now announced. Hooray. Pretty interesting that they used a bridal outfit with her reveal. Very different from her normal military/assassin-like default outfit. Probably must have something to do with the Tekken story and canon. Getting pretty hype for this, especially since I just came back from the Philippines (they have a very strong Tekken scene there).
  5. There's so many in my wish list. Off the top of my head... Capcom vs SNK 2 (my absolute top PS2 game that I hope comes to PS4, hopefully with online play) Final Fantasy 12 Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven (any Tenchu game, for that matter. The series is long overdue for a new entry) Onimusha Tekken 5 Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks Bloody Roar 4 Castlevania: Judgement
  6. I really enjoyed this game, but I always had a minor issue with having multiplatform characters like Dead Space's Isaac and Bioshock's Big Daddy (which actually was a timed exclusive with X360 in the beginning) being in the game because the spirit of those characters wasn't Playstation exclusive for me. I applauded the addition of Parapa to take him out of hibernation and introduce him to the newer generation of gamers. That being said, I'd love to see a bunch of characters that only called Playstation their home from back in the day. - Sofia (Battle Arena Toshinden) - Gabe Logan (Syphon Filter) - Wakka (Final Fantasy X. Imagine a Blitzball based move set) - Joel and Ellie (The Last of Us. Imagining a Rosalina and Luma type archetype with them) - Heat (Bust a Groove/Move. For that obscure ps game representation) - Reiko (Ridge Racer) - Crash Bandicoot, cuz he was Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic for crying out loud.
  7. Hopefully they greatly improve the game engine. Episode 6 was damn near unplayable for me on ps3 with the constant freezing and audio skipping that it actually took away from the experience for me. I wanted to replay it and see how Rodrik handled the end game but I gave up on that after I got the plat. I'll probably wait for a good sale on a PS4 Game of Thrones season's pass, since I heard from a few buddies that there wasn't as much issues in that version (plus, how can I say no to another plat lol).
  8. I'm trying to chip away at my backlog before finally getting a PS4. That, plus I need to start finishing up these PS+ games so I can delete them and make room for more, uh, free ps+ games. Being a previous 360 gamer, I had 1000ed a bunch of games that I wish I could transfer over to my PSN account into platinums. I've been lucky to have came across a bunch of them via borrowing from friends or getting them dirt cheap. That, plus the numerous games I bought when I started playing on PSN. So, here's my 10 games that I'll try to plat this winter. 1) GRID 2 (ps+ game that I'm currently working on) 2) Bioshock Infinite 3) Final Fantasy 13 (previously 1000ed on 360, don't know if I can do it quickly since JRPGs take at least 80-100 hours to complete) 4) Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (previously 1000ed on 360) 5) Assassin's Creed : Rouge (started at launch but never continued with it) 6) Thief (ps+ game) 7) Wolfenstein : The New Order 8) Heavy Fire : Shattered Spear (got it for 99 cents during a previous flash sale) 9) Blazblue: Continuum Shift Extend (luckily got the online for it out of the way. Abyss mode is just so freaking boring) 10) Batman: Arkham City Currently sitting at 40 plats as of this writing. I wonder if one of these games will be my 50th plat milestone.
  9. I've been gaming for a long time. Started with a ColecoVision when I was seven (yeah, I'm old. Lol), but gaming really took off after getting an NES. I've pretty much never skipped a console generation since. I've beaten many games since, but other than my own memory and a publication of my name in an issue of Nintendo Power for beating Battletoads there's pretty much nothing to show for my long, extensive gaming history. For some odd reason, I decided to fire up Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore at the end of the PS2 gen. For a ps2 launch game, I was impressed on how fun the game was after not playing it for so long. I decided to get an Xbox 360 just to play Dead or Alive 4. After beating the arcade mode for the first time, an achievement unlocked. I was like, "wth is this?" After learning the purpose of the new achievement system I got hooked on earning them, as I saw them as a sort of "gaming permanent record" that will always be there for people to see. I pretty much gamed on my 360 for the most of the last gen, up until I got a ps3 on a Black Friday deal in 2012. I got it just so I can play the ps exclusives, plus I had friends who played fighting games more on ps3 so I got one to play with them online. I started earning Playstation trophies, but I soon started to want to build up a score that was comparable to my xbox gamerscore. The rest is history.
  10. The father in me says, "I'm actually ok with this, having a 4 year old daughter who's a certified Frozen fanatic. Frozen was actually really good. I'm pretty excited for this sequel." The gamer in me says, "A Frozen themed area would awesome in the next Kingdom Hearts. A boss battle with Marshmallow or even an emotionally wrecked Elsa during a blizzard would actually be pretty epic."
  11. I'm not sure if there was a thread about this, but I just wanted to say how useful this app is for communicating with your friends and/or fellow boosters over the Playstation Network. With the messages button it allows full access to your psn messages. You can even send messages while you're away from your consoles, like a text message. Communication is a very big part in boosting, and not everyone has a mic. Sure, you can use Facebook chat or Skype, but if you just wanted to keep real life private then the Playstation app is perfect. Hope this info is helpful for everyone. Cheers, fellow boosters and boosterettes.
  12. To me, a big part of the reason why the original SNES version was so memorable was the music. A big part of me was let down when I went through the game and the music was a totally different and not-as-catchy soundtrack. If they remastered the original soundtrack (like they did for Ducktales Remastered) then this game would have been amazing.
  13. I'd like some easy plat games that would take 5-10 hours to plat. It would save us all some money and we can pad our score at the same time. Other than that, Batman: Arkham Origins, Murdered: Soul Suspect, Transformers: War for Cybertron, Rayman Origins, and Thief would be pretty sweet.
  14. Can't wait. I've loved the StarFox series since the beginning. I remember being excited when StarFox Command came out for the DS, cuz we know StarFox games doesn't really come out as often. Plus, I can hopefully put my Fox Amiibo into more use.
  15. Just wanted to give anyone a heads up, especially to those concerned about your overall trophy completion percentages and to those that only have one Dual Shock controller and one/a bunch of arcade sticks, that I wasn't able to get my Fight Sticks to work with this game, even if I switched the stick to control the left analog stick. I'm not sure about the Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 Fightpads or other arcade stick brands like Hori or Qanba, but I'm guessing they won't work as well. Hope this will help everyone. Happy gaming.
