  2. Final Update for August 31st Lego Star Wars 3 - 80% Maneater (PS5) -11% Persona 4 Golden (Vita) Life is Strange: BTS Remastered Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Slay the Spire - 41% Telling Lies Chrono Cross Gaps (PS4) Sakura Succubus (PS4) Sakura Succubus 2 (PS4) - 48% The Order 1886 One Night Stand (PS5) Pic-a-Pix Color (Vita) Pic-a-Pix Color 2 (Vita) - 51% Pic-a-Pix Pieces (Vita) - 0% Well August came and went pretty fast. Did quite a bit of stuff both in real life and as a gamer but everything just seemed to fly by. And this also means the end of the Summer Backlog Challenge. Big shout out to @MidnightDragon for hosting it again. And look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall Challenge! As for the games I played, well... Slay the Spire - Yes, still playing this. I knew going in that this was going to be a marathon, not a race, to play this game. Trying for too many trophies at once in this game is, not impossible, but you have to have very good luck with certain cards dropping, the RNG of the deck and getting the best, if only, monster to battle to get some of these. Case in point, one trophy I got required a 50 strength buff, which I got by having a relic that added +2 to strength to my character (and +1 strength to the enemies) then using a potion that also gave +1 to strength each round, thus +3 per round. Another required to only have 3 cards in your hand. Since you start with 12 this means you need to find ways to remove cards. For some reason I was down to 6 and used 3 of them (two played as battle buffs and one removed from play which left me with three and getting the trophy. Then also got one trophy for beating the normal final boss with only common cards in my deck. Tried for others of course and thought I had one until I looked at what I actually have to do Very situational thing needing specific potions, cards and such. Still going to play it because I am enjoying this. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning: Just had a few trophies to finish at the start of last month, mostly to do with killing 50 of certain types of monsters. I was practically done the game at that point and just had to finish it up. Still think it as a great game and was fun to revisit although my original plan to do every quest failed (does that mean I failed my quest!?) and some were just 'return x for money' that would never end. Some Lorestones were a pain to get to as well, with some only accessible through quest lines. Did finally get them all although they were pains to get. Chrono Cross - So going into this I was set for a huge challenge, but once I realized that there was cheats to help make the game easier I saw a faster pace than I thought it would be. And while I did follow a guide online, especially for all of the endings, I also fought more monsters than I really needed to. Just isn't my play-style to pass by monsters and not kill them. Once again I got that nostalgic feel from playing this. Still can't believe that, to 'fix' a mistake they made in the first game that they made a second game. I imagine if Chrono Trigger was made in this generation a patch would have added to correct that glaring issue. Now if they re-re-release Chrono Trigger I'd definitely be playing that. Sakura Succubus & Sakura Succubus 2 - So I've been wanting to play this series for a bit, mostly because I am a sucker for a good story (even if it has plenty of fan service) and I also enjoy visual novels as well. First on my visual novel will always be Stein's Gate and have played any of them I could get my hands on. And while these games are not anything like SG, I still want to play games like these occasionally. My initial plan was to have all of the games as one and play them back-to-back but looking at my list at one point I knew that two might be the maximum that I could do this challenge and I was pretty much on the money, although admittedly I wasn't planning to use these games as back-up games but they worked. Maneater - Playing this game for the second time and regretted it immediately, not because I hated the game but I contemplated switching it for Stray and play that instead. But I resisted the temptation and kept with this game. Took some getting used to the controls and think it would be the best if I didn't switch to something else outside of back-up trophies I gotten about roughly a quarter of all the game done between collectibles, killing Apex monsters, total Infamy and such. I want to say that it won't take long to finish but not sure about that. Pic-a-Pix Color (Vita) - I've been keeping this game in reserve for when travelling, well mostly. I did have an hour wait while my car was getting an oil change and such so I played the game some and had to use a trophy from this game because I was in a pickle with my dailies (namely I was going to hit more than my two-a-day limit). Will be playing this come the first weekend of the next challenge so it will be played again. and that's it for this month's games. I seriously thought that I had way too many games here and would have too many games untouched or not completed. But most games were finished and of those that weren't, they will be played again come the fall Challenge. See everyone over there!

  5. Question, if you put a game down but don't know the exact name of it, will you have to use a swap to correctly name it or can edit it once you have the proper name down with no issues? i.e. I plan to play FF16 but I don't know the exact title for it.

  10. So the month is over and after surviving a long weekend with family (including 10 children under the age of ten!) I realized it was time to do a monthly update on the games I have played this month and to really notice how the amount of games I had planned for this month was way too much for the way I play them. Not sure why i thought I would need that many outside of the Vita games, and, even then, what motivated me to have so many was way beyond what I should have planned for. But C'est la vie and such. And before I get distracted by other things, I should do my monthly game update: The Order 1886: This game was so disappointing when played but I could see the potential in it from the get-go. And the might-have-beens for what it could have been to make it better will always be a what if. What if it was a open world? What if there was huge customization options? Or a much longer story even. But there aren't these so we are stuck with a basic game that I finished in a couple days with the longest part being the loading of the game (was at my parent's place and their internet connection was abysmal that week). Telling Lies: I have always been intrigued by games that used live video to as a part of the experience and a game a friend played years ago that used live characters that were in an interview-like archive program was an interesting way to tell a story. So when I saw this game I wanted to play it. Got the story done and couldn't get the plat because it involved seeing 170 videos and i was stuck at 169 for a year. It took over a year to have someone to finally give me the word I needed to get that last video and viola. And to give you an idea of how much I like these types of games, I'm considering getting the latest game of this type. Life is Strange: Before the Storm: As much as I hate to admit it, I am glad I'm done with this game. Don't get me wrong; I love this series but I never really enjoyed the BtS as much as I did the other games. Maybe because it was a prequel and didn't have the options the other games had for endings or I didn't like some of the new characters. Maybe because the main character didn't have an ability (although I suspect that the other female protagonist might have one). Maybe because they couldn't make enough chapters compared to others in the series. Or maybe a combination of the above. All I know that I wanted to get through it at times yet savour it at others. And i didn't go straight to trophies at times, mostly to play the two D&D sessions they had in the game. So have to wait until they announce the next game in the series or the re-do the second game in the series. Gaps by POWGI (PS5): Another of my cheap trophy games. It was a nice diversion but it didn't force me to think super hard about the answers and did just enough to get all trophies, where I didn't finish all the puzzles outside the required ones and the required amount. I got this and a couple other versions of these games to play on the PS4. Slay the Spire: Still enjoying this game on the side, usually late at night as a way to unwind and doesn't require lots in the term of my undivided attention to it compared to other games that I play. Now granted there are many games I play that allow me to pause and do other things but there are other games where not paying attention to it, having my controller dying at a bad time or getting distracted by someone can cause issues. The RNG in this game is nasty as usual but I still have gotten some progress done. The latest being having 10 buffs on my character at once between relics and cards in my deck which, admittedly, took some effort to get perfectly. Trying to beat the secret boss in the game lately, only to last maybe 3 rounds before my ass is handed back to me. Hasn't deterred me from not playing this game and, as I might have said elsewhere, until something else catches my eye that makes me want to play it more than this, I will still be working on it. The trophies might not come as fast as they were before but the work will be there. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-reckoning: Almost done with this game, with, as of today, only have to finish the Teeth of Naros Storyline and find the lorestones to finish and plat the game. Was hoping that getting the stones in both of the DLCs would negate the ones I missed in the game itself but no luck there. So going to finish the story then go back and find the missing stones. Was also hoping to have this game done before the end of the month but that too didn't happen. It won't take long but I really wanted it to be done beforehand so I could start fresh this month. Game-wise I have enjoyed the game. My goal to do every quest was shattered when one of the NPCs died from enemies and it was a permanent death that I wasn't going to go back several hours of game-play just to do. Also failed a quest without realizing it and was too late to fix. So just soldiered on and finished the game doing as many as I could. Glad I played this game again and not sure what i will do if they re-re-release this. Pic-a-Pix Colour 2 (Vita): Like Gaps above, I got a couple versions of these games to play on my main consoles but I need some Vita games to play when I travel and cannot bring the console with me. I expect to finish this game by the end of the month since I will have to travel at least once more one of these weekends. I might even use the other Vita game on my list as well. But the game itself hasn't been hard, just tedious as it involves getting a medal on every puzzle, which means no mistakes can be used. So lots of placing colours in blocks, doing a quick check, then finding any mistakes made. Usually it's easy to find but sometimes I need to delete multiple blocks until I find the mistake. Not so hard on the easier puzzles but will be more of a pain when getting to the larger ones. Just going to take time to do these and sometimes that's all I got when away from home. And that's it for this month. I am planning to be a part of the next challenge but need to figure out which games I want, now that I subscribed to the Premium Plus that came out recently. While I know that some of these games have trophies attached to them, I'm not sure if all of them do. If certain games come with trophies in them I'll be playing those. If not, I'll have to figure out what games I will be playing. As it is, all I have are ideas which will be reflected in my choices. My final list will me setting those choices in stone obviously. But that's it for now and I'll se everyone next mon....oh look, butterfly! *quickly runs away*
