(KH3 Asia) All thats left is the grinding before I have a 2nd platinum. Barring the extreme actual yearly stop and starting I was doing (bad mental state), I'm surprised how easy it was getting to this point.
-
(Gungrave Gore) I really don't know if I'll finish this. Not because its hard (at the moment Im only halfway through normal), but because its just not fun.
And that kinda sucks to say, seeing as to how the 1st is one of my favorites on the ps2. Then again, I wasn't really a fan of OD...

#455 (Demon Slayer) Gameplay? Good. Content? Could use more. an intro to the anime? About what I expect; more flash than substance.
-
(Demon Slayer: Hikkimori Chronicles) Been a while since I last played a game that completely ruined my enjoyment of it in its last chapter. Seriously, how many bosses with multiple fakeouts did you really have on the table before you narrowed it down to just two, CyberConnect?
-
(GunGrave GORE) Finally beat it after lots of stop/starting. For a reason too. It goes the OD route of having WAY too much game for such simple gameplay, but unlike OD, it doesn't have visual style and flair to back it up. No emulating Nightow's art, no wild and crazy freeform jazz, and worst of all, no Gunlock.

Paid 50$ for both El Shaddai and Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes, both in like new condition. Not a bad day, really.
-
(TMNT: Out of the Shadows) Been playing this game since it first came out, and I still fucking love it. From the moment I start it up to the point I turn it off, pure joy.
-
(Sonic 2 movie) I'm trying to have fun again. Trying to just take things for what they are. Figured I'd finally sit down and watch this.
.....Why? Why is Sonic so friggin' lame?

Was going to say some things on the topic, but I ultimately decided it'd be foolish without some specification on what made him lame to you in the movie. I can assume what you're referring to, but even then the topic of character for Sonic is still pretty damn complex and then made worse talking about it without a reference point.

The movie itself is obviously good (even with the unfortunate and trendy live-action concept, and better than both the decent Detective Pikachu movie and subpar Uncharted adaption) for anyone who really knows the series and its history (generally speaking) but also as a standalone.

In simplest terms, he's not cool. He doesn't act cool, doesn't conduct himself in a cool manner, he's still acts like the naïve bright-eyed out-of-his-element kid he was in the first one. Constant self-depreciation jokes, almost always responding to tough situations with a panicked "nononononoNONO", and attempts to hype himself up always resulting in him falling flat on his face.
I've said it a million times, and I'll say it a million times more, I'm all for having Sonic be more 3-dimensional and not just a COOL icon for other characters to gush over; it's why the japanese take on Sonic is my least favorite after this movie. But the COOL always needs to be present.
References can be fun, but they alone don't make a good movie. Out of the Shadows had loads of fanservice and references to correct for a dodgey disconnected beginning, but it was all so corporate and hollow. I'm of the opinion that the same thing happened here.
But the fight in the ruins was fantastic, I won't lie about that.

(Avengers) Welp, just unintentionally earned my first trophy. No turning back, I guess.
-
(The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog) A cute story with great art. Only one path, one action mini-game (with an assist mode if it gets to be too much) and no gallery/art collection that I noticed, but hey, it's free.
-
(Madagascar Kartz) Got all the way up to 200cc on a blank account before I noped out on it. My trophy amount was 50% there, but I'm not going through that rubberbanding horseshit.
-
(OPM: AHNN) Now comes the grind. I already have my opinions formed about this game, and I doubt they are gonna turn around by the time I'm done.
-
(Spark Electric jester 3) Tried the demo, and yeah, it plays really good! A really good sense of speed and control that playing only Sonic games I didn't think it was possible.
-
Picked up Gungrave GORE for $8, I'm curious to see how it plays. The first vid I saw had a lotta unnecessary talking, so hopefully there's an option for that....

Absolutely, its one of my all-time favorite ps2 games and the reason I even picked this up.
It seems to be going off OD with Grave not being the tank he was in the first, but the biggest change to look out for is that the gameplay is now 100% 3rd-person shooter; you move with the left stick, look in ALL directions with the right, and fire with R2. It works fine so far, but its no longer just dealing with what's right in front of you.

441: Spongebob: Cosmic Shake
Was a bit unsure starting out, but ended up liking it. Once you get past the mandatory sunny beach levels, the game gets alot more interesting. Maybe this will restart the trend of Spongebob games.
-
(Sponge: Cosmic Shake) Gotta say, its not terrible, but Id prob appreciate this a lot more if it was a sequel to BFBB. The original one.
-
(R&C: Into the Nexus) Holy Clank, this game IS short. Began 2 days ago, and if I wasn't stop-starting it, I guarantee I'd already have the platinum.

#436: Jumping Flash!
Feels good finally playing it after all these years, and even PSX issues aside, I loved it.
-
(Jumping Flash!) Played the demo for 2 years and years ago, when it first came out, but now I'm finally diving in!
I assume the 0.00% trophy percentages will be fixed eventually....

GunGrave (Anime)
I posted my full opinion on the anime thread, but the gist of it is that the creators focused entirely on the wrong thing. GunGrave is a concept akin to John Wick, not The Godfather.
-
(Burst Angel) Finally decided to give this a chance, finding the 1st two dvds for cheap..... and I think I'll leave it at that.
I'd thought I be at home with the fanservice, seeing as none of the characters have wonky proportions, but the inability to stay on model still ruins it.
The episodes feel so dragged out and padded, what Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop could do in one episode gets two here.
So I'm done.

(Trials of Mana) I'm not hating it, but I dunno how I feel about multiple playthroughs. Anyone have any tips to speed up the process, outside of following the guide?
-
(Trials of Mana) I kinda wished the game had a remix mode where you can experience all the stories at once. I'm sure the splitting campaigns was what set it apart when it first came out, but I'm actually wishing to experience all the stories as they happen.
-
(JoJo ASBR) I honestly feel the tweaks made make it worse. The original was not a fast fighter, but everything formed a cohesive fanservicey whole. Here, certain actions, movements and attacks are sped up, but recovering from attacks is as slow as ever, not helped by knockdowns being caused so easily by numerous attacks, and matches grind to a halt whenever somebody performs a downed taunt or transformations. There is so much of this "start stop" going on that it becomes aggravating.
