  1. Are you going to buy it again? I am, but on a sale for less than $5. I'm sure the 10 bucks it could've taken you, Capcom, to put a plat on the game for this re-release would've been a real risk and probably your company would've gone bankrupt.
  2. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/07/20/system-shock-ps4-confirmed-for-early-2018-release It looks like the talks with Sony went well, as Nightdive Studios announced today that their System Shock remake is coming to PlayStation 4 “around Q1 2018.” Saying the PS4 version is happening partly due to the “overwhelming demand” from fans, Project Director Jason Fader talked about bringing System Shock to PS4: When we launched this Kickstarter, supporting PS4 was a possibility, but we hadn’t started talking to Sony just yet about it. We were all focused on wrapping the demo up and prepping the Kickstarter. We already had strong contacts at Microsoft from prior projects, so supporting XboxOne was less of an unknown. After we saw the overwhelming demand for PS4, we reshuffled our priorities and focused on talking to Sony about making that happen. After a few weeks and lotttts of emails, we are officially on track for bringing System Shock to the PS4! No stretch goal for it. We’re adding it in as a thank you to our backers that put their faith in us. Fader acknowledges that supporting another platform “will cost us more time/money since ensuring a game functions smoothly and relatively bug-free is different from platform to platform,” but the more money they’re able to raise, “the better the game will be.” The Kickstarter campaign ends next week and is currently sitting at $1.07 million (the original goal was $900,000). If it reaches $1.7 million, Nightdive will add the following: Enemy limb dismemberment, More puzzles, Ammo types/weapon settings, Vending machines, Basic components/research, RPG progression, Weapon upgrading, Hardcore mode (No respawning), Ironman mode (Only 1 savegame. If you die, the save is deleted). According to the Kickstarter page, System Shock is still scheduled for a December 2017 release on PC and Xbox One.
  3. I saw a lot of people request this game on the PS2 wishlist thread, what do you guys think about the trophy list? shame there's no plat. At least the Metal Slug Anthology got one. This release was unexpected -same thing happened with Bully and Manhunt being released without previous announcement on the Store some months ago-.
  4. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/rockstar-s-ps2-classics-on-ps4-have-been-a-success/0167172 Take-Two has said that Rockstar is currently the top publisher of digital PS2 classics on the PS4 store. The publisher has described its selection of titles as a “tremendous success”, citing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Bully/Canis Canem Edit in particular. “In particular, Rockstar Games has been having tremendous success with their hit PlayStation 2 titles such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Bully/Canis Canem Edit, which are now available for download in the PlayStation 4, via the consoles emulation technology. Rockstar Games is the top publisher in the PlayStation 2 classics and PlayStation 4 program with three of the five highest selling games.” ------------------------ Could this mean we will see both GTA Stories with trophy support on PS4 soon? ------------------------ Which others PS2 games you want to see on PS4 with trophy support? go here -> http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/33146-wishlist-of-ps2-games-on-ps4/
  5. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/03/04/rise-of-the-kasai-ps4-is-the-next-ps2-game-coming-to-releases-on-march-8/ During the most recent episode of the PlayStation Blogcast, Sony revealed that Rise of the Kasai will be the next PlayStation 2 game released on PlayStation 4, coming to North America on Tuesday, March 8. A European release should happen next week as well, but nothing’s been confirmed yet. The followup to The Mark of Kri (already available on PS4), Rise of the Kasai will likely cost $14.99, as Exophase reveals that it includes a Platinum Trophy. Here’s some Trophy highlights: Protector of the Innocent (Platinum) – Unlock all trophies. Untouchable (Gold) – Complete a level without taking any damage. Arena Champion (Gold) – Unlock all arena levels by completing all level challenges. Tools of the Trade (Gold) – Unlock all weapons by collecting every Tuku. A Watchful Eye (Silver) – Unlock all 10 movies. Wrath of the Rakus (Silver) – Achieve a body count of 40 in an Arena level. A Merciful Warrior (Silver) – Complete a level killing fewer than 10 enemies. And here’s the description for Rise of the Kasai: Rise of the Kasai is the prequel and sequel to the highly acclaimed The Mark of Kri. The struggle to protect the dark magic of Kri from spreading returns, with four playable characters, each with their own menacing weapons and deadly combos. Unique collaborative gameplay pairs you with a fellow warrior, making teamwork essential as you scout, plan and fight your way through breathtaking 3-D environments. This time, the only way to preserve your future is to fight it. Additionally, Exophase posted Trophies for Max Payne. Since it doesn’t include a Platinum, expect it to cost $9.99. Currently, a release date is unknown for Max Payne on PS4 (the European PlayStation Blog mistakenly listed it for March 1 earlier this week). Will you be getting Rise of the Kasai?
  6. https://twitter.com/frictionalgames/status/801810611889967104 Frictional Games recently released the Amnesia: Collection on PS4 earlier this week (November 22 if you’re keeping track). This horror game compilation featured three titles: Amnesia: The Dark Descent (its DLC Justine) and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs. Priced at $29.99 (although there was a 10% discount for PS+ members), the game has already been a success for the Swedish developer. The minds behind SOMA went to Twitter to report how well the game has done. “Good news,” the developer wrote. “After just two days of sales, Amnesia Collection for PS4 has recouped all costs [and] more!” It’s certainly great to see a game finding profitability so quickly, and hopefully the success for Frictional Games will lead to more PC games to receive console ports. Not all games can be this successful, but it should get some other developers on the fence to give it a try. It also should give hope to those that hoped that Frictional Games’ Penumbra trilogy of horror titles (Overture, Black Plague, and Requiem) would make the jump to PlayStation 4. There’s clearly a market for these horror titles on the PlayStation Store, so we might see Frictional Games port them over as well now that they know the demand is there. For more on the Amnesia Collection check out Chandler’s review. PlayStation LifeStyle’s Chandler Wood said that the series was influential and “many newer horror games owe their own scares to.” He concluded that the collection was a “time capsule of horror that will prey on your mind, [and] a fine collection for anyone who missed it on PC.” http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/11/24/amnesia-collection-ps4-already-turning-a-profit-for-frictional-games/
  7. Other interesting recent news: An absolute success on sales: the PS4 port of Amnesia Collection (previous PC exclusive) recouped all costs and more after just 2 days It’s no secret by now that the PlayStation VR has been a tremendous success story for Sony. While it’s not the first VR headset available in the market, it seems it’s set to become the most successful very soon — at least in the UK. According to data tracker GfK, early UK PlayStation VR sales numbers is already approaching the combined installed base of the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, with GfK Director Paul Simpson also adding that PSVR “eradicated” may concerns about VR. VR devices Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, both of which are focused towards gamers, suffer when compared to PlayStation VR. The VR units of the former are more expensive (£550-plus vs c. £350) and require a relatively high performance PC. PlayStation VR also benefits from a large installed base of PS4 owners – more than 3.5m in the UK. Early UK sales of PlayStation VR indicate it is already approaching the combined installed base of HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. Initial PlayStation VR game sales are also positive with eight or nine boxed releases featuring in the Official UK Top 40 games chart (week ending Saturday 15th October 2016). 8. What are your thoughts on this list? I never played a Call of Duty game before, might get this one if it is sold as a standalone game at some point. It's also the first time this game gets trophy support on a PlayStation platform.
  9. these aren't remasters, they are emulations, handled by a small team that was created to focus on them while the main teams works on new games. same thing happens with almost every other company who makes remasters: they are handled by an external company or by a small team of said company, not by the whole team itself.
  10. http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/07/25/darksiders-remaster-confirmed-ps4-xbox-one-wii-u/ It will cost $19.99 and is set to be released on October 25. Following a retailer listing earlier this month, Nordic Games confirmed at Gamepolis 2016 this past weekend that a Darksiders remaster is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U. According to Spanish site NextN, the Darksiders remaster will launch in Q4 2016 through physical and digital stores for €19.90. It also looks like Nordic Games will offer other Darksiders merchandise at the same time, including soundtracks of the two game son vinyl, a figure of War, and more. Meanwhile, retailer Newegg is currently listing Darksiders for PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U, priced at $19.99 USD with a release date of October 25. When Nordic Games offers up more details about the Darksiders remaster, we’ll let you know. Previously, Nordic Games remastered Darksiders 2, which they say “was just a way to get some spotlight on the franchise again, reactivate the community and have a better starting position for [Darksiders 3].”
  11. well you can blame rockstar for that, those are their games. they set the price and they decide which games gets a plat or not, and apparently only their open-world games are getting one (except for manhunt for some reason). i believe gta liberty city stories and gta vice city stories will get a plat because they are open world. not much of a bliss because the xbox one isn't getting any of this ps2 games unless microsoft does a "original xbox emulation" at some point. also we're getting all this low-budget indies "thanks" to steam, devs have so little faith for pc gamers and their piracy and low sales that they only try to make non-AAA games for it, and just indies.
  12. then you're missing out on thousands of excellent PS2 games, the Xbox didn't had nearly half of the good quality that the PS2 had (in fact Xbox's catalogue was pretty mediocre compared to it), which is to this day one of the best selling console of all time, while the original Xbox wasn't much successful: nice sale!
  13. since some of those silent hill are PS2 games you can request them on the proper thread: http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/33146-wish-lists-ps2-games-on-ps4/ and i think siren blood curse got rated some months ago on a korean site for a PS4 re-release, maybe it is a remaster.
  14. red dead redemption has been recently added to PS Now, which means you can actually already play it on PS4, although i think you need to have a good internet connection (more than 5 mbps) and be subscribed to that service, and i think its only available on certain regions. both of those assassin's creed, together with revelations and some short films are already confirmed to be coming next week remastered for the PS4: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Assassin's_Creed:_The_Ezio_Collection you can already pre-order that collection on the PS Store. red dead redemption has been recently added to PS Now, which means you can actually already play it on PS4, although i think you need to have a good internet connection (more than 5 mbps) and be subscribed to that service, and i think its only available on certain regions.
  15. Source: http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2016/09/14/more-capcom-remasters-planned/ Capcom has published their annual Development Report for 2016, which contains their future plans for development. Aside from Capcom really wanting to capitalize on their Monster Hunter franchise, particularly for the mobile platform, they also want to capitalize upon remastering past game successes. As they mentioned in their report from sales over the last year, they had rather strong sales with their Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster. It’s only natural that they want to tap back into that potential money train, as they have attempted to do with the recent release of the remastered Dead Rising. Efforts within (1) include expanding unit sales by strategically releasing full-game and add-on contents. Also, we will utilize one of our existing intellectual properties to proactively release HD remastered versions of previous titles for download sales in an attempt to create sales opportunities and increase the digital download sales ratio. In terms of (2), we will promote compatibility with multiple platforms and release a new title within an existing popular series every 2.5 years based on our 60-month map title portfolio. Also in that statement they suggest they will work with the upcoming upgraded consoles, including the PS4 Pro. Perhaps Capcom will also release upgrades to their games already released on the PS4 to support the PS4 Pro’s features. Hey Capcom... it won't be too bad if you take this good survival horror from you into account then...
  16. i was just wondering if such option existed, great! although i have a EU account and still was able to access that new feature by going to that US link.
  17. the sequel to red faction, red faction 2, is also coming to ps4: http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/39948-the-sequel-to-red-faction-also-coming-to-ps4-ps2-on-ps4-games-list-and-news-thread/ with red faction 1 also getting rated by pegi some weeks ago that means both red faction will be coming to ps4 very soon.
  18. i agree. although i think they only own clock tower 3 right? i don't think they own the rights of the previous ones, could be wrong though. there's other even more rare ps2 survival horror game from them called "glass rose", i'd like to try that one too.
  19. congrats. i think the cutscenes can't be skipped because the game is loading the next scenes in the background, that's why you don't get to experience any kind of loading screens, because they are "hidden" on the cutscenes (other games like beyond two souls, until dawn, uncharted 4, etc also use this technique). although while this is a cool feature for the first playthrough, it can be a annoying for the second one.
  20. since the game is from the same guy who created resident evil that match system was actually borrowed from the 2002's resident evil remake (which is now free for ps plus users this month). that game used a similar mechanic, although not exactly with matches, but using oil + lighter to burn zombie's bodies so they won't reanimate. also "mr boxhead" reminds me of pyramide head from silent hill 2 :-p
  21. i wonder why you didn't included it on your wishlist then: http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/33146-wish-lists-ps2-games-on-ps4/page-30#entry1007460 unless its sarcasm?
  22. for all of you who were requesting red faction, it just got rated on PEGI for a ps4 release, check this thread for more information about it: http://psnprofiles.com/forums/topic/39948-red-faction-is-the-next-ps2-game-coming-to-ps4-ps2-on-ps4-games-list-and-news-thread/
  23. i know i was only telling you that the game is scary, and that this type of games you'll only fully enjoy by playing them yourself, not watching some weird guy on the internet play them.
  24. obviously watching some random people screaming, laughing and making silly comments will take all the scariness, tension and suspense away. you need to play it on your own, like with every other horror game.
  25. not at all, the game is actually considered to be one of the scariest games of all times (alongside others like P.T.), is not only based on tension. plenty of monsters and chase scenes on every level. you just probably didn't watched enough good videos of it or just watched the "boring" parts. which is surprising considering its low budget. maybe you saw videos of "a machine for pigs", which apparently wasn't even as good as "the dark descent", which means it was less scary.
