  1. I updated my About Me as it needed some obsolete data updated. Updates are as follows:

I updated my "1st in The World to Platinum" status to show both 8 To Glory and RBI Baseball 20.

The correct names and "big leagues" of the 2 current wrestlers my boss (Gino Caruso) trained (I'm an announcer for him with ECPW) have been updated. In other words, former WWE superstar Luke Gallows moved to Impact where he is now known as Doc Gallows (he and Karl Anderson were part of a massive roster cut after Wrestlemania earlier this year). Sonny Kiss is still with AEW but I put his previous name with Lucha Underground (XO Lishus) up as a reference point for those interested.

I also put up my favorite wrestling and gaming quotes, respectively. I'm sure they are far from popular ones (especially the wrestling quote) but they speak to me given my path in life, both good and bad.

Hope you enjoy! More changes will follow soon!

    1. Honor_Hand

Really liking that idea of adding favorite quotes from the stuff you love onto your profile. ūüĎć

  2. I have decided to buy all 3 Atari Flashback Collection games when my money permits it. I know how excruciatingly difficult they are so I hope I don't lose my sanity... or what remains of it! Get ready to lose what little hair I have left!

This will be a fitting tribute to my late father, who introduced me to gaming as a toddler with the Atari 2600. I don't know if I'll get anywhere close to Platinum (I've heard the horror stories) but it would be Platinum 150 if successful.

On the "good news" side, I get to do a small Thanksgiving on Black Friday (or Trample Friday as I refer to it for obvious reasons) with my mother and sister, who I'm already under one roof with. My sister works the local supermarket (ShopRite to be exact) from 6PM to Midnight on Thanksgiving since this is one of those "All Day Every Day but Christmas" kind of grocery stores (under a "normal" year that is). Talk about greed! Not that she minds the money but crazy. That's NYC Thanksgiving in modern times for you!

    1. Spaz

Hard as nails. Best of luck in you playing them.

    2. Honor_Hand

I see you settled for the Atari Flashback Collection. I'm sure it's going to be a more than appropriate tribute to your late father. Those games are tough as nails btw. Best of luck with them. ūüĎć

    3. Icebrand1270

@Honor_Hand I still have to buy them. Hopefully in 2 weeks. First I must get Christmas presents for relatives who better appreciate them! (Don't worry, I'm sure they will.) All I ask for on Christmas is a good meal, no arguments with family... and maybe some good clothing. (hint hint) I played a bit of volumes 1 and 2 on my former ID and I remember the challenge. (Volume 3 wasn't out until after I lost my old ID.) So I know what agony I'm in for.

  3. I was considering getting Atari Flashback Classics Volume 1 when my funds allow. I know how excruciatingly difficult it is and I don't care. I started gaming as a toddler on my father's knee with an Atari 2600. (My first game was Freeway from Activision, similar to Frogger, where a player helped a chicken cross 10 lanes of highway traffic.)

As I have previously stated, I wish to honor my late father with my choice for Platinum 150, who died of a massive stroke in May of this year. He returned to gaming with WarFrame on Steam after retirement (he died at age 64) to keep his mind sharp and my brother (my father and stepmother's son) built a WarFrame in his honor in the game.

My father enjoyed YouTube highlights of many games, particularly RPGs both Japanese and Western, so any of those would work as well. He watched my brother play Final Fantasy 12, Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition (all of which I bought for him of course). Unfortunately my stepmother has been unreachable as of late. I hope to get her input soon.

  4. Thanks for the follow-back! And nice cover photo of the Grey Wardens!

      For the Wardens!

"Join us brothers and sisters. Join us in the shadows .... and should you perish, know that one day, we shall join you."

  5. I figured I would compile a list of "possibles" for Platinum 150... so here they are:

    Final Fantasy 12 Zodiac Age

    Horizon Zero Dawn

    Shenmue 2

    Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney Trilogy

    Fire Pro Wrestling World

    Dragon Age Origins (PS3)

    Kingdoms of Amalur Re-Reckoning (PS4)

    Skyrim (PS4)

    Cobra Kai (The Game)

    The Outer Worlds

    WWE 2K20

Needless to say, a LOT of narrowing down to do. Suggestions are always welcome!

    1. funboy1246

I have a few of these. horizon zero dawn was good and a fairly easy plat. skyrim is over rated in my opinion but also an easy plat and 100%. so either of those is a good choice. id go for cobra kai personally since ive never played it.

    2. MidnightDragon

Dragon Age: Origins is a good one. Takes a bit to get going, but it's one of my favorite PS3 titles.

    3. Icebrand1270

@MidnightDragon Dragon Age Origins was one of my most cherished Plats on my former ID. When I was still Icebrand1270, I earned it in November of 2013 after 4 years. It was Platinum 35 and Trophy 6000. Now as OohYeah127, I possess 149 Plats and 5979 Trophies. Perhaps it is time to return.

  6. Thanks for the follow! Decided to follow you as well.

  7. Plats 147-149 are Castle Pals, Bouncy Bullets (PS4) and Iron Snout (PS4)! All on this day, November 5th of 2020! I haven't had a multi-plat day since last year so this trio of super-easy Plats feels good to cluster together.

Now the question is: what do I make Platinum 150?

Triple congrats for those 3 consecutive Platinums! ^^

What about Warframe on PS4? It doesn't have a Platinum, but maybe attaining 100% completion there could also be a cool personal achievement. You know, if he came back and really enjoyed it on Steam, you may as well come to it and prove that you can attain everything the game has to offer. Just a thought over here. =)

    3. Icebrand1270

@Honor_Hand It would truly be an honor. The problem is the massive level of Internet connectivity required to even play it. As I have stated many times, my connection is rough in the best of times. Come December it will be exponentially worse with online shoppers eating up bandwith. Still, it is a worthy goal.

    4. Honor_Hand

@Icebrand1270 Ouch, you're right. I forgot about that. Warframe is entirely online multiplayer, right? Getting that one done without a proper connection could be rather tricky.

At any rate, best of luck to you, man. :)

  8. I'm going to lose it if I see "asking for a friend" on social media again. Do people still believe that?
  9. I bought the Cobra Kai game yesterday. I'm probably the only individual who is playing this who hasn't watched the show. The reason I'm playing this is because it plays like a Double Dragon or Streets of Rage of old.

There are some differences of note. The player can buy and upgrade special moves for their characters. Your teammates can be swapped in and out at any time. The story is nice... if a bit predictable. (Seriously, the trophy list doesn't hide who the final boss is!) To get to the final battle, one must complete both the Cobra Kai story and the Miyagi-do story. The price is a bit high for what it is (40 dollars... USD that is). I suppose you're paying for the "brand name"? Then again, publisher GameMill has overcharged before (American Ninja Warrior was 40 and NOT worth it). Still, this is the first time in ages we've seen a good game from this publisher (the first Goosebumps game from years ago was the other).

As for my progress, I have a fair amount of trophies but am having difficulty progressing through the early stages. I really need to dodge more often! I'll keep at it!

  10. Cobra Kai: The Karate kid Saga Continues They're all my favorite (Gold) Upgrade 4 Skills to the maximum (including Mastery)
  11. Today I hit 200 Trophies in a single month for the first time since August of 2019! I also have 6 Platinum Trophies in a single month for the first time since December of 2019! Most notably Ghost of Tsushima and Cricket 19! And there is still time left in this month! I'll see how far I can take it!

    1. shxrpay

Nice! When I first read it I thought it said 200 platinums in a month. Should've seen the look on my face lmfao.

    2. Icebrand1270

@shxrpay Don't feel bad. I have gotten into unfortunate misunderstandings by misreading many things. I guess that is to be expected at Age 40. I once got 15 Plats in a single month but 14 of them were "trash" Plats as you might imagine.

  12. I've been away from this thread for quite some time so I'll limit this to this month's Platinum haul. I haven't had 6 Plats in a single month since last year so this feels good! Platinum 141: Swordbreaker the Game (PS4) 10-1-2020 Platinum 142: Cricket 19 10-8-2020 Platinum 143: Crypto by POWGI (PS4) 10-11-2020 Platinum 144: Halloween Candy Break 10-12-2020 Platinum 145: Feather 10-17-2020 Platinum 146: Ghost of Tsushima 10-19-2020 So, 4 extremely easy ones (although I overcame a trophy glitch to Plat Feather). But Cricket 19 and Ghost of Tsushima certainly are good ones! Cricket 19 is definitely not a Plat you'll see every day. With a mix of trophies that you would expect in a sports game (and some of them glitchy) this is a true challenge. However, some trophies can be earned by using 2 controllers. I'm just the 67th to earn this Plat... and the 3rd American. GO ME! Ghost of Tsushima has quickly become a legend in its own time. With a great story of historical fiction centered around a young samurai who must break his warrior code of bushido to save his people, he fights with a mix of traditional samurai and "dirty tricks" more befitting of a movie ninja. As he makes alliances to fight Khotun Khan, cousin of Kublai Khan, he struggles with his new identity as "The Ghost". I'll leave it at that for those who haven't played it. The story is front-and-center but the combat is great as well. What else can be said about Ghost of Tsushima that hasn't already been said by countless others? Well, that's all for now! The march to Platinum Trophy 150 is on!
  13. I hold the distinction of being the 1st in the World to Platinum 2 PS4 games: 8 To Glory and RBI Baseball 20. As for non-trophy feats, I am in the top 25 in the Survival Challenge leaderboards on the Paranormal table for the PS4 version of Pinball FX 3. At one point I was in the #11 position. I hold several other Top 100 positions in those leaderboards as well. It's a good game for me when I want to take a break from trophies.
  14. Platinum 146 is Ghost of Tsushima! What a game and what an incredible experience! I made sure to make the final story-based trophy (Mono No Aware) the trophy that earned Platinum. An unorthodox approach but not the first time I've done such an approach. The story is front-and-center but the combat is great as well. What else can be said about Ghost of Tsushima that hasn't already been said by countless others?

And so the march to Platinum 150 continues!

      Well done! ūüíĮ¬†

  15. [Ghost of Tsushima] Just 7 trophies left! Even better, the 2 remaining required collectibles will be acquired as part of the story, meaning it's a straight shot to Platinum! Was thinking of going back to this even before NG+ was announced and now I should set it up nicely! Just a few missions to go! I'M READY!
