What a great comic book story. Good number of characters and some cool scenarios for Batman to find himself in. I liked the investigation "linking" mechanic. Occasionally I found it difficult to see which button I needed in the QTEs, but that's a minor thing and for the most part the combat was well presented.

I almost want to give this a second playthrough. It seemed like there were a lot of dichotomous choices I made that if I were to go back and do things differently would really change the feel of the story. Lots of "visit as Batman or Bruce" and "Go to place A or B". Obviously I know the ultimate outcome of the story but I'm intrigued to see how the story would be told differently.

Tempted by the next series (which I guess is the point of this one being free :P)

Though it was just QTEs, I thought the fact they added actual boss fights was pretty damn cool.

QTEs are kinda a pain in the ass, but good job on landing them! :D

  2. I hope they don't. I like my Nintendo games without commitment Imagine "Collect all Korok seeds" At least with the comics, I think it has something to do with the powers making sense. It makes free play so much easier if I know who to switch to (I couldn't learn which dwarf did what in the Hobbit). You can set up such a variety of puzzles as a result too. Also the comic ones have their own stories which I like a bit more.
  3. :platinum: #24 - LEGO The Hobbit

Decent enough LEGO game. Some of the levels were neat, some a little tedious. The loot system for building stuff was a little frustrating at times, but in the end becomes inconsequential just like stud costs. I liked that the mithril bricks were spent on the tools, and that the tools could be equipped to any characters to give them that ability for a while.

4th LEGO plat :D Harry Potter or Avengers next?

@Raido Good call, then I can get to Marvel Superheroes 2 sooner.

@Alternatewarning Yeah it kind of caught me off guard when I realised. It just made for more backtracking on missions during the clear up.

Well done! 💯 The very first LEGO game I've played and I loved it.

I guess next up is #25 - my favorite number :D

  4. So I've in-game 100%ed LEGO The Hobbit and the only thing keeping me from the platinum is the fact I don't have my second controller with me. Ah well, soon :P

I'm not well educated on how this stuff works, but if you have a Vita or a phone can you remote play as the 2nd controller?

Thanks for the ideas, but I don't have a Vita and can't connect my phone to the same network as my PS4 for second screening. I'll just have to wait until I next go home to grab my other controller :)

That's why I did it on the Vita ;)

Fun little platformer, 11 golds and a plat. Nuff said. 😂

Congratulations! I unfortunately also fell for the same trap @ee28max did haha. Nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm planning on playing it very soon actually!

Thanks 😁 It was a couple months back, but still :P Rime really hasn't been out that long, seems strange to me that it's be free already

Does it have DLC?  That could be why the game is free.

I doubt it. Doesn't really seem that kind of game.

  7. New 100% - Firewatch

Had my eye on this for ages, got it in a sale and played through it today. The game crashed on the last day, so I did a quick second playthrough in order to reach the end. Luckily it was fine second time around.

Nice atmospheric game, with dialogue that felt incredibly natural, especially the bits I noticed go differently. It's quite impressive, to actually make the conversation believable. I wonder if they were helped by the use of radios forcing alternate characters to talk, removing the issue of what noise the listening character is making.

Really enjoyable and would recommend, but shame about the crash.

Great fun 3D platformer collectathon. Bright and mostly simple with a couple of obtuse "puzzles". Yeah, the camera frustrates sometimes, but it wasn't enough to derail my enjoyment, just a bit of extra challenge! :P

  12. Ngl, Nintendo Labo could be really fun. 1) The construction has to be satisfying. Not prohibitively technical, not two folds and done. To me at first look it could be possible 2) The cardboard has to be sturdy enough. Some kids are obviously going to be heavy handed with it and break it which will get some backlash but a sensible, considerate user shouldn't have any problems. 3) There has to be enough game attached for the price. I've seen about $80 floating about (can't find anything £/€) which for a game and peripheral isn't too bad. A game at launch being 60 isn't crazy, and DLC these days means that an 80 game could be comparable. But if that's the case, I'm going to need enough game to back it up. I'm going to keep an eye on this though. Nintendo's ideas are either genius or terrible. I'm hoping this is the former.
  13. :platinum: #21 - Tales from the Borderlands

Finally got around to playing the last episode. Strong ep.

Enjoyed playing a telltale game much more than I thought I would. Glad they gave it away free (and have given more away since). Different experience, but when you're in the mood equally rewarding.

I liked Game of Thrones more than Batman. I'm actually surprised so many are giving it a thumbs up.. I thought it was the worst of the Telltale games I've played.

    3. OhDearGodRun

      OhDearGodRun

I have problems with it, since it really messes with Batman canon, but I didn't think it was the worst one.

  14. :platinum: #20 - Assassin's Creed Origins

It's been a little while coming, but my latest plat is here.

Great game. So much fun that the location mop-up was a breeze. Bit of a strange list otherwise, the skill tree isn't fully unlocked, there are a bunch of side quests I could do. Shame on the random event trophy. I shouldn't be too harsh though, like I said this was a tonne of fun.

Oh look, the DLC trophies got added just before I got the plat :P
