  1. It's the weekend! After giving myself a short break from it, I'll be going back to Dragon Age: Origins. Also, the games that determine who's going to the Super Bowl are on Sunday, so will watch those. SO happy the Patriots won't be one of the possibilities for a change. What about the rest of you?

I didn’t like this game at all. I expected a sort of twin stick shooter but as my coop friend described it best, it feels more like a fighting game. Combo button pressing all the time and I just suck at that. It’s the main reason I don’t play fighting games. Big thanks to PlatinumVendetta, my old Uncharted 3 boosting partner, who helped me with this game. ChekanOff-74, the Russian who was so good at this game I initially thought it was a hacker and carried me through all bananas trials & challenges and @Arcesius for idling so I could get the last 1000 friend kills/revives.

  5. [#77] God of War (2018) This is a great game. You definitely should go play if you have not, boy. The combat was really fun, the lore was good, story entertaining. They def set it up for a sequel which would be awesome. Can't wait for the next one. Now, I need to go back and finish up the series! haha.

[#78] Batman: The Enemy Within. Another enjoyable TTG. Not much to say, other than I really enjoy these games.

No, it was not PS+, I bought it on sale during the last sale for $10. Been wanting to pick it up for a while and when I saw that price I jumped haha.

  9. FF 8 platinum done (134).  1000 leves done in FF XIV, so now just 420 more fates for that platinum.  1000 is just such a depressingly large number lol.

  10. Hello hunters! Need help deciding what fallout game to have on milestone. I have only played a little bit of each so I would help deciding between Fallout 3, New Vegas and Fallout 4. Ive seen 'game critics' suggest fallout 3 is the best. Whereas polls on sites suggest NV is best. What do you all think?

  11. It's the weekend once more. Since there's questions of the weather, the plan is to stay in mostly, watch the playoffs, and play more Dragon Age. What about the rest of you?

Playing Iceborne and praying to RNGesus for the rare moly that just won't spawn for me :'( Hoping to earn a few more trophies so I can pop GoW plat as a milestone, still haven't done that... Going to play more FFX-2 since I am getting pretty close to the end. Have 3 more chapters to complete and lots of grinding to do. May binge a show while going through the last dungeon.

An MMO basically Pokemon game that is deeper, and will presumably have trophies.  My interest has been piqued ...

  13. PSVita Question: Do anyone knows why are the Vita games so expensive on Amazon? I live in South America and figures it'll be cheaper to buy a few on Amazon US and pay import taxes but OMG, I'm looking for Persona 4 Golden and all the prices I see are about 45-55$ even for second-handed games. I bought a second-hand Vita (perfect state just like new) a few months back for 70$ and it came with 6 games; two of those are Uncharted Golden Abyss and Assassins Creed 3: Liberation, and I see both games in like 35$ and more :jaymon:

I found a copy of P4G at 30$ and thought it was expensive... may as well pick it up 😶

Also, I decline about buying Vita games on Amazon but PS4 games, I found a "brand new" copy of Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition at 20$ while I asked yesterday in some local stores and they asked 30$ for a second-handed copy of the standard edition of the game :jaymon:.... Honestly Idk where I'm living anymore 😶

Physical copies are usually pretty limited in print. I would check ebay, they tend to have cheaper used copies (if you are ok with that). Otherwise, gotta buy them from the PSStore :P

  14. Plat #100: Dead Cells

Over the course of this long road to 100 I grew to despise the western AAA industry. Loveless, soulless cashgrabs became more apparent the more time I spent with chasing trophies. I've stopped focusing on most games I've played, I've started watching YouTube, listening to podcasts and getting my entertainment on a second screen while mostly ignoring the games I played on my TV. Platinum trophies became less than Dead Cells to me. And that's because most games are less than Dead Cells.

This indie gem should be praised as an absolute superstar of the metroidvania genre. It is the pinnacle of action oriented Roguelikes. The controls are fluent and responsive, the visuals are beautiful and the soundtrack is simply epic. Every run you do has high stakes as every moment could end in your permanent death. It is a game that kicks your teeth in but rewards you for becoming better at it far more than most games I've played so far.

The plat itself takes you through 5/6 difficulty modes. Each difficulty is disgustingly harder than the previous one with health resources getting rarer, enemies replaced by new, harder units and everything becoming more hostile in general. Even the first difficulty is no joke. But you get rewarded by more cells for better upgrades, by more blueprints for interesting weapons and by learning new strategies.

You need to also understand the bosses perfectly since there are no-damage trophies attached to the game. It's possible to savescum those a bit, I decided not to because the game is just so fun no matter how often I had to replay it.

The roguelike genre is propably my favorite genre at this point. It seems to get the most value out of games for me, the genre motivates replayability and experimentation at its core. And this game right here is the most well-crafted roguelike I've ever played. It is difficult, crazy, highly cynical and really intriguing. I just had to scrape every other contender for my 100th plat - because this game is such an indie masterpiece that puts the entire AAA industry to fucking shame. This is one of the games which doesn't need side entertainment. It is just that strong on its own.

Pick it up. Play it. Give it a shot and you won't regret it! Your dopamine levels will spike, I promise 👍🏼

    Fun: 10/10 || Plat Fun: 8/10 || Difficulty: 9/10 (becomes a 6 with maximum savescumming) || Time: around 80h || Grind: 4/10

  15. Platinum #117 - Freedom Wars (PS Vita)

    Lc125e9.png1L24e735.png

A nice take on the "hunting game." Think of this as a Monster Hunter-like game set in a dystopic future with an ever-present State a la 1984. Change the monsters for robots and set most of your melee weapons for their equivalent firearms and you get yourself an idea of how this game is like. Personally, I liked the idea and the execution, even if there are some things that could be improved. Right at the start of the game, our main character (this kawaii girl I created) is issued a 1 million year service sentence to her Panopticon (which acts sort of like home base) for losing her memory. Right off the bat, the first thing I thought it was hilarious (and to a certain extent accurate) is how the ever-present government is portrayed. We're given the lowest social rank possible and have to climb our way up by reducing our sentence, but the ways the game finds to increase our sentences are just brutal at times. Like, even running or staying still for a few seconds can get you fined with some extra years in your sentence. Of course, this can be easily avoided as soon as you get the respective "entitlements", which act sort as like "our rights" within this universe, but still. xD The Panopticons you swear allegiance to can be chosen from cities in the real world, and I was very pleased that Caracas was a choosable city. Like... Thanks for remembering we exist too lol.

The game is played from a third-person perspective and we're given several control schemes to suit our playstyle, which I liked. Weapons, you have your standard assortment of pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, but then you have more heavy weaponry like miniguns, laser guns, autocannons, rocket launchers and this thing that fires homing rockets. There are melee weapons too, short swords, long swords, bludgeoning weapons, polearms, and there's a very nice selection between all of them. Most of the gameplay relies on you and a band of other Sinners (which is how the game calls all those who've been sentenced to serve their Panopticons) to eliminate the enemy Abductors (the robots I'm talking about) and rescue citizens (since they're a valuable resource). The combat against these robots is like you would expect from a game like this, they take quite a lot of hits to bring down and usually require a set strategy. Meaning you need to sever off some of their parts first, destroy their shield generators or side-mounted weaponry first, make them trip and fall over, and such. All in all, pretty cool stuff, and each Sinner can have a different role in the squadron, be it a healer, or by giving defense buffs to your comrades or just stopping the damn abductors on their tracks. I wouldn't call it extensive or deep but it is fun to see and play. The Abductors themselves come with a certain variety in their design and weaponry, so you can expect to adjust your strategy accordingly to which type of enemy you are fighting. One thing though, this variety is not as big and repetition can ensue at some point. Visually, I thought the aesthetics were pleasing. Obviously, since we're in a dystopic future, you cannot expect pastel colors flying everywhere, but the anime cel-shaded aesthetic was nicely used. Characters are nicely modeled and are cool to look at. The environments themselves, well, they could certainly use some variety but what's there is serviceable. The music is mostly comprised of electronic and trance stuff and it is only notable during the abductor-fighting sequences when it kicks up accordingly.

The trophies are mostly related to moving the story forward and working your sentence down. Most of it can be gotten pretty easily. Some trophies that could give issues are the ones for defeating a Dionaea-class or Peltatum-class abductor offline without falling in combat, as those can be pretty hard with the somewhat derpy AI. Playing with a friend it's very much recommended, as that will make the operations that much more engaging. For this, I have to give thanks to my best buddy @cr1s for playing this game with me from start to finish. We pretty much worked all the operations together. ^_^ Before I finish here, another trophy that deserves mention is the DIY Demon for having upgraded a weapon to level 10. Weapon upgrading is kind of unique in this game, since you require several parts you obtain either from the field or from Abductors in order to improve your weapons, and there are TONS of materials needed for those and there's RNG involved as well. I'd personally recommend just grabbing a crappy weapon and DON'T upgrade it to an advanced model. Just stick with the Simple model and farm the required materials. The weapon will be crappy but getting the materials will be so much easier.

A great game overall. Very recommended playing in co-op with a friend. The endgame can be a bit of a chore when looking for materials or trying to work your sentence down, but the game does give you alternatives to make things easier. Blasting Abductors at a distance with a heavy-duty minigun never felt so good, even if I'm working to reduce a 1 million years sentence. :D

    A Few Random Fun Stats:

    - My Equipment: EZ Wolf I Ausf. F minigun upgraded into an EZ Wolf Batrach I (lvl 5 Will'O Route) and an AfterShadow+ (upgrade through Impact route up to lvl 4). Found this setup pretty useful for causing maximum damage. 😬

    - My Thorn and Combat Items: Shield Thorn, because I like to give defensive buffs. And items, well, it depended on what I could manufacture at the time but mostly First Aid Kits and Ammo Packs as standard and then I'd mix it up with Frag Grenades and Adrenaline to do extra damage. I also always carried a Flare Knife around because you cannot severe parts with a heavy melee weapon. I found the BENKEI turrets so cool. Too bad I couldn't manufacture many of them. >.<

    - What Did I Equip My Accessory With: An AAW-M2 rocket launcher. I only managed to upgrade until Impact 2 but since my Accessory basically has infinite ammo, it was the best weapon to give her. Oh, and she is also a cute, kawaii girl btw. xD

    - How Did I look In The Game: That Cats Love Stripes costume set... Yes, of course, I want my girl to look like a catgirl. Why wouldn't I? xxD

    - Favorite CPU Comrades:  Beatrice "Lilium" Anastasi, Elfriede "Sakamoto" Cabrera, Uwe "Sakamoto" Cabrera and Ann "Charm" Vittoz.

    - Most Annoying Abductor To Fight: Anything in the Quadruped-class, really. I find their constant running and random jumping annoying. The Paradoxa-class is kind of frustrating with their spinning and spider web attacks that traps you constantly. Oh, and don't get me started with the chains on the Peltatum...

    - Amount Of Time That Passed Before I Received My First Punishmen After Starting The Game: Like less than 10 seconds. :hmm:

    - Number Of Times I Was Punished For Violating The People's Charter: 37.502... Seriously, right at the beginning before you claim your "rights", the game finds all sorts of ways to penalize you. xD

    - My Last Trophy Before 2019 Ended: For The Greater Good!

Always been one of my favorites and always will be. Especially now with 3x speed and early no encounters. Really is a great version of the game.

Going to be trying to grind out as much as I can for X-2. In the middle of CH5 atm, and the shitty fucking guide I am using is messed up and now I will have to do some NG+ to get 100%. Annoying. Oh well. And going to try to play lots of GoW in prep of #4500. Hoping to get lots more completion percentage up before the year's end.

  20. It’s the weekend and you know what that means! My plans are to stay home today and tomorrow and play a couple things ahead of starting The Outer Worlds New Year’s Day. One is Dragon Age: Origins. That likely won’t be the only thing, but undecided on the rest. Sunday is football. Last game of the regular season and it determines how the wild card will go. If you were looking to get your predictions in before they're announced on the blog, you probably only have about a week to do so! And hope there are no leaks before then!

You probably have two weeks before the announcement. If it follows with previous months that end on Tuesday, they announce on the 1st (a Wed) and release next Tuesday, so that the release is in the month that it is announced for.
