  1. I think this plays a major part. The PS4 has some of my favorite games of all time, but I feel the PS3 had a larger quanity of solid games, guilty pleasures and games that gave you value for money, this in turn leads to more enjoyable trophy collecting in my experience. There used to be a pelethora of AA games, movie tie-in games, super hero games that fell between the AAA games and indie it's just feast or famine with these games.
  2. Unfortunately, this highly unlikely. Remastering the entire series isn't economically efficient for other words, the juice isn't worth the squeeze. They'll stick to their easy-to-port collections and Pro Evolution Soccer games to keep afloat. Even if they did pull this off, I doubt it will be that high in quality. They are better off selling the rights to the franchise.
  3. I just completed another run recently and this can be done with a Snecko Eye, Ice Cream Cone relic, a few Charge Batteries and a Metoer Strike. After a few turns you should have almost unlimited energy to pull off multiple Metoer Strikes if you have the card draw or something similar like Seek +. It amazes me how to deep this game is. After platinum, I still do daily runs and discover something new. I just completed an Unceasing Top run with The Defect: Claws, Go for the Eyes, FTL, etc. I'm around 530 hours in the game and I can see myself reaching a 1,000.
  4. I guess one man's trash is another man's treasure, or maybe it's vice versa here. I found this game to be underwhelming, cumbersome and did not like the all. So, I had no trouble skimming through it for the plat. If I wanted to play a Soduku puzzle, I would have bought a book of them at the grocery store. If that's your only example on "no honor among trophy hunters", you are going to find yourself quite disappointed in these forums.
  5. I don't know what time you are talking about. As a Gen-Xer, we've been dealing with Boomers our entire lives...a time when Boomers referenced themselves as such and thought it was cool label. I appreciate your rant, but it's misguided so let me help you out...because as Gen-Xer, no generation has more contempt for them than us: - Boomers were coddled by the Greatest Generation, to give them better lives than what they had (i.e., the Great Depression, world wars, etc.). This created a generation of entitlement. - Boomers praise themselves that they made the world a better place, but they did not. - Boomers raised an entire generation of children to fend for themselves. These were called Latchkey Kids and I was one of them. - Boomers popularized divorce, leading to an entire generation of kids being raised by single parents - which was also romanticized for some reason. - Boomers judged my generation (and future ones) on not going to college and buying houses like they did, when the financial inflation of these commodities have astromonically skyrocketted. It takes a little more than "pulling yourself up by the boot straps" these days. So, while they are on the RV vacations, cruises and relax in their gated retirement communities spouting "70 is the new 60", Gen-X has gone from pissed off to apathetic, Millenials are finding out that they were lied to, are up to their ears in student debt or radicalized by their Boomer professors and Gen-Z is still trying to figure out what the hell is going on and why their Gen-X teachers hate the world and why their Millenials ones hate the country. πŸ˜‹ These are generalizations of course. There are great Boomers out there a great people in every generation, but there are trends with every generation that has ripple effects on the future ones. A good movie by the way that represents a Gen-X perspective on this is Reality Bites (1994) if anyone is interested.
  6. I just used Darkmoon Blade and Power Within buffs - pretty much melted all bosses.
  7. I'm with you. I used to be pro-physical copy but I almost exclusively buy digital. It's faster, cleaner, cheaper (e.g., flash sales) and more convenient. I have a pretty healthy PS2 and PS3 collection and small PS4 collection - and now it just sits there. I don't play them, the majority of them are practically worthless compared to what I paid for them. I'm aware of the trade-offs of not buying physical, but I don't really care at this point.
  8. Nah. I've lost interest in the "race for a treasure before the evil guy with a personal militia gets to it" vibe. Personally, I think it should ended with UC3 but I understand the PS4 needed a staple title to sell the system.
  9. Probably Slay the Spire, as I love that game. Despite platinum...still play it with close 500 hours.
  10. Korean as my wife is Korean and would like to be able to communicate with her in both languages and her family.
  11. Looking for another MP game and I keep seeing updates in the main page's DLC section? Performance issues for PS4? Toxic or inactivity community? Thanks!
  12. I think it would be good entry. There will be steeper learning curve for you not understand how the combat works and tropes of From Soft's game design, but learning is fun. Also some pros: you won't be bringing in bad habits or expectations from the other games with you.
  13. As well as it should be. That original USDA diabetic food pyramid set the US back decades in health; however, I like homemade sourdough and the occasional bread related items like a pizza.
  14. Nothing wrong with starting these games. Sleeping Dogs is quite good actually. It has some open-world, GTA tropes but the combat is fun as well. I would stay away from BFBC 2 and BF3 unless you are truly committed to the platinums and have a strong boosting group. BF4 is probably stil doable, especially on the PS4.
  15. I'm playing it on my original PS4 (too cheap to get a Pro or PS5 ), and no issues. Some load times can be lengthy, however, it's not that bad and I have seen the same load time in other platforms on YT.
  16. This is fairly accurate. Not sure about the 14-year old part, but I found it amusing that he dug his heels in when complaining about Metroid Dread citing his background in God of War and Twisted Metal as a bastion of game design. 1. Those games are 20 years old. 2. Metroid has always been Metroid. 3. Gamers, especially ones that have been playing games for over 30 years, have a good idea what good game design looks like.
  17. Imagine no trolling, flaming, etc. is like expecting no dangerous animals in the jungle. It's the internet. In any case, you are not forced to visit the message can still view the actual FAQs unlike other sites. For me, I always enjoy the internet spat - a wild west so to speak. IMDd took down their forums a few years ago and now it's lost its luster IMO and is now just another review aggregate site.
  18. You could give The Hong Kong Massacre a try. Haven't played it myself, but heard good things about it.
  19. I eventually figured it out. 😬 Also, I guess at some point the Help windows were turned off accidentally so I couldn't read anything. This is definitely a deep, tough game but will take my time learning this game.
  20. The game highly recommends doing the tutorial due to the difficulty, but all that occurs is one short battle. πŸ™„ One of the worst tutorials I have ever seen, especially given the game's complexity. In any case, anyone know how to: Add arrows to an archer? Repair weapons after battle?
  21. Spot on. I'm struggle to even complete the final missions because I am so bored. The amount of needless reading to catch up on this convoluted story is ridiculous. It was a Kickstarter game, so I give credit to reviving this genre and despite some of it's shortcomings. Hopefully of PoE2 is better.
  22. Neither do I and you have summed up everything perfectly. Even if you don't "own" an image, can't you just cite it if you intend to use it? In any case, when something new that's baffling to me comes along. like a girl selling her farts in a jar, I feel like Sheriff Ed Tom Bell in No Country for Old Men popping black pills with my morning coffee.
  23. There may be some truth to this; however, is it me or had this maxim grown over the years? I used to spend thousands of hours on my NES and SNES as a form of comfort and entertainment without the cost of frustration or other negative impacts but as gaming has evolved it has been much less so. I first noticed this paradox with the arcade fighting game scene, then to online shooters (*ahem, SOCOM), gaming becoming mainstream and lastly trophy hunting. I suppose it could be the stressors I have now are much different than when I was a kid. I do know this much, I cannot play games anymore when I am upset or stressed's a pretty counter-productive experience.
  24. Glad I am not the only one in this boat. 😰 I'm in my late 40's and have had nearly system from the Nintendo and Playstation tree, but for the most part I cannot bear retro gaming for more than a few minutes. I have recently dusted off my PS2, but even then...things like save management felt arduous. I think the PS3 is where I draw the line. My hat does go off to these speedrunners that put thousands of hours into these games though.
  25. Wow, some fierce competition here. Too bad we can only pick a few. Anyways, congrats to all the guide writers for making the cut!
