  1. *Kira* Miki's ending needs to be done alongside Virgillio's, meaning that you have to get all drinks correct for Virgillio, Stella, Sei, and *Kira* Miki in order to achieve it. This means that you can't, say, go for *Kira* Miki's alongside the hidden characters (as one of the hidden characters requires you get one of Stella's orders wrong). Couldn't find this posted anywhere, so I figured I'd let people know.
  2. As I recall, it got delayed into April, but they said it'll be coming soon. I'd assume the next update, which should drop around the middle of the month.
  3. Does anybody know what the requirements are for this trophy? Beyond the obvious, I mean. For saving Duke, you need to be in good favour with the cult by the time you go to the bridge. Not sure about the other two, and Google hasn't been forthcoming.
  4. Let me know if this works. I'm in the same situation as you (Damir stayed behind for some reason).
  5. And nothing of value was lost. Bad games so rarely get bad outcomes these days; glad this one did. Hope they have enough funds left over to make Payday 3.
  6. @Valkirye22 Thanks for the further details. Regarding this, I suspect that there's some leeway in all levels. I killed some of the fanatics in the church at the beginning of VOLGA (and did everything else the same as the list you've detailed), yet Duke still survived for me.
  7. As far as I've been able to tell, the only action toward a bandit that will lose you karma is if you kill one who is somehow incapacitated (it happened in the caves right before the lighthouse in the desert level, where one of the enemies is suffering from... burns? Whatever it was). I got the picture by total accident. Fuck that area, though. The gameplay gimmick behind the spiders is fun but man do I hate their levels.
  8. Is anybody else having trouble getting this? I've completed all the songs (on the right difficulties) listed in the Trophy Guide, as well as replaying said songs on other difficulties just in-case, but I can't seem to get it to pop.
  9. You do need to clear them, yeah, but clearing songs on All Night is pretty easy with the support modifiers enabled. You only need to get 'Stage Clear,' not 'Brilliant,' so essentially just survive to the end and try to keep the bar as high as possible.
  10. @Bumperklever @seiyuuki Got it in the end, somehow. Just popped while I was playing. Might be glitched/delayed or something.
  11. I really want to like him, because the whole sarcastic, narcissistic persona thing is my cup of tea, but I feel like he overuses it. He's done a lot for the gaming industry, and I'm glad he exists, but he has a tendency to go too far. Not totally convinced that the narcissism is a ploy, honestly. He's obviously playing it up for comedic effect but it feels like more of a way to undermine those who would criticise him than any actual desire to be funny. His non-Jimquisition content is garbage. He has no charisma when recording unscripted.
  12. Not really much farming involved on NieR. I recall having enough to buy the rest of the trophies by the time I'd finished the game (which is when you unlock the shop anyway).
  13. From the URL, I was hoping Sunset Overdrive was getting a multi-platform release. No such luck. :'(
  14. #35 - Game of Thrones

Got this game back in... August(?) when it was free on PS+. Anyway, I went in expecting to dislike it. Game of Thrones never interested me much, and I just wanted to play it so I could uninstall it and make room for something else. Funnily enough, though, I came out of it wish a desire to watch the TV show, and read the books (and will be! The TV show becomes streamable on my TV package on the 1st June 😈).

Has the usual Telltale problems. Stay away if you're bothered by making decisions that don't mean much, buggy facial animations, or cliffhangers which make less sense when not played episodically. Any Non-GoT fans who are sceptical, I recommend having this be your 'in' for the series. It's reasonably short, not too esoteric, and charming at times.

    7/10. Everyone I loved died.

  15. #34 - The Assembly

A trophy that I am convinced is bugged had me finish this game a bit under a year after initially playing through it. I remember liking the story, but a speedrun through to cleanup trophies left me more annoyed than interested. Perhaps it's only enjoyable the first time? I recommend anybody considering playing it to have a trophy guide handy during your first playthrough. For what it costs (I recall it being £6 on sale), it's quite worth it.

    6/10.

  16. #33 - Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands

A semi-interesting story with a pretty good premise gets let down by a sandbox that is too big with a disproportionate amount of things to do in it. The trophy list is okay for the most part, and horrible in places.

Here is a list of media which helped get me through this game:

The Official Podcast, episodes 1 through 50

Tales From the Gas Station (+ Finding Vanessa)

    - Every single Rammstein album, in order.

    - The entirety of the Frieza Saga in DBZ.

    4/10. Don't do it.

@Willstown Haven't bought the DLCs. Probably won't unless they're super cheap. 😂 I'm not eager to return to that game any time soon.

@Honor_Hand It definitely was! I do not recommend it.

  17. #32 - YAKUZA 6

Yakuza 6 is, primarily, a game about parenthood (often fatherhood, specifically). That should be obvious to anyone who's played the game, but each of the characters in the game has some sort of struggle with a parent, or a child, that is touched on throughout the course of the story. Rather than make a point about how parenthood is something to be cherished, or the opposite, it seems to want to showcase all sides of parenthood in equal manner.

I thought it was a nice touch (though I suppose this is a compliment to the Yakuza series as a whole) that for all of its focus on bonds, and the intimate connections protagonist Kazuma Kiryu has with others, none of his family are blood relations. It helps us form the bonds alongside Kiryu, as the experience we have with the characters is the experience he has with the characters. If this was intentional, it was a good move, though I'm not sure I can recommend that other game creators follow suit.

After speedrunning the game in 4 hours to get my final trophy, it occurs to me that most of my initial 20 hour playthrough was taken up by cutscenes. I think, in most other games, this may have been a problem, but every word that leaves Kiryu's lips is spoken with such charisma that he alone could keep me hooked to the story, not that the story had any trouble being interesting. The political intrigue that usually drives Yakuza games is pushed up to 11 in this game.

The trophy list is a lot easier than the other Yakuza games, and though I can understand the complaints people have with this, I think it's a good thing. Though easy by Yakuza standards, the trophy list shouldn't be underestimated. You'll be running around the in-game city a lot, doing menial tasks that have you questioning your existence. This is opposed by Yakuza's usual style of 'do literally everything,' and on my playthroughs of 0 and Kiwami, the sheer magnitude of the platinum trophies turned me off going for them. However, after succeeding here, I feel like I could probably tackle them. Thus, it feels, at least to me, that 6's trophy list is a gateway to the others, drawing people in with this immense sense of pride and then saying 'There are 6 more of these for you to do. Hop to it'.

Ending had me crying like a bitch for the first time in years.

    9/10.

    Spoiler

Kiryu deserved better. I can only hope he ended up moving to Taiwan to be with that cute hostess.

  18. #31 - VA-11 Hall-A

I have a love-hate relationship with this game. It has amazing music, it has amazing art, and the writer's ability to so accurately delve into the deeper parts of the human (and non-human) psyche while also creating characters which are distinct and consistent is truly inspiring. What little gameplay there is (and there isn't a lot) is implemented near-flawlessly. Unfortunately, the game is held back by a couple of things. Some of the endings require a guide, and cannot be guessed in the context of the game, which, for a game which focuses so strongly on the player following instructions, is a bit of a let down. There are also a couple of bugs, though I'm not entirely convinced they weren't my own doing.

7/10 - Jill is best waifu.

  19. Currently have 3567 trophies and it's bugging me. Anyone know how to get 1000 trophies fast? 😂

@Dragon-Archon That's an unreasonable amount of trophies for one game. How'd they get away with that? 😂

@Edunstar84 Gah, the problem with VNs is that I always get drawn into them and end up making them take 10 times longer than they should.

@LuciaRosethorn I plan to. This post was made in jest. 😅

      THAT'S A PROPER WAY!

  20. These deals are pretty good. Shame it's US only.
  21. Figured it'd be cool to start doing these platinum posts people do. I usually have a lot to say about the games I finish. Anywho:

#30 - Tales From The Borderlands

I played this game once already, back when it first came out, on the Xbox One, but that was a while ago. It surprised me how well certain aspects of the game stood up, despite knowing all the twists and turns. Still, like many modern Telltale games, it suffers from rushed development times and plot lines that only make sense when played episodically. The last episode has so many fake outs that it gets exhausting to play, but doesn't overstay its welcome. As an adaptation of the Borderlands franchise, it works well, perhaps even better than The Pre-Sequel. Handsome Jack is, and always will be, one of the most entertaining villains of all time.

    6/10. Too much Claptrap.

I had to rely on the kindness of strangers (play with randoms) to beat Terramorphus. Lol. Someone here had a session up, offering to help with that specifically. Can't recall the name. There is one offering to help with anything.

Ahh. Shame I missed that. I'll probably post a session of my own asking for help eventually, but doing both playthroughs and then throwing myself at Terramorphus for five hours sorta burned me out. 😂

  22. Halo 5: Guardians. I've been into Halo since Halo 2. 5 was the first Halo game to come out after I'd gotten into employment, so I had enough money to splash out for the legendary edition. Yeah, never again. That game was such a letdown, it's unreal. Started playing at midnight (digital download only for a legendary edition, btw - WTF), had finished it by 4:30am. Pretty much killed Xbox for me as a whole.
  23. Can't speak for PSN, but the XBL servers are still up, so I can't see why the PSN ones wouldn't be. Full of modders, though. Good luck.
  24. Five times is a number I pulled out of my ass, but it isn't that far from the truth. Taking some best-selling game statistics from the last couple of years vs. around 2001, the best-sellers sell about three times more than they used to. In fact, what was considered 'best-selling' back in 2001 (Halo: Combat Evolved with 5 mil), is now considered to be average (anyone recall Square Enix saying that their game 'underperformed' with 5 mil sales?). Game production costs haven't risen as much as people think. As technology improves, the cost of older technology goes down, and the newer technology is sold for what the older technology was upon release. Voice actors aren't being paid to reflect any changes (they sorta went on strike about it just last year), and marketing costs about the same as it always has, adjusted for inflation. Possibly even less. Used to be that a game would have to buy a TV advertisement, or one in a magazine - now they just have to post a picture or two on Facebook, maybe pay substantially less for it to be promoted on the site. Game costs wouldn't rise to meet a rise in production costs, they would rise to increase a company's GDP. Breaking even, even if it weren't possible under current costs, could easily be done with DLC (same engine, most of the content is already there). Instead things such as DLC and microtransactions go towards making profits. Which is fine, I guess, but don't tell me that I should be paying more for games. £55 is perfectly fucking fine, thank you.
  25. This really sucks. The fact that they added songs kind of rubs salt in the wound, tbh.
