Status Updates posted by Nostalgy_Flow
You probably won't care, but I still wanna do this last status update, at least for the people who know me.
I made the decision to quit this profile and trophies in general.
Lately I've been thinking about it more and more and I realized that for me trophies don't make sense anymore and I don't feel like continuing. I don't enjoy myself anymore and I no longer have the motivation that I had when I started this profile.
Maybe I won't completely ignore trophies, but it's going to be a lot less obsessive thing. I'll do them only if I feel it and if the game pushes me to such a point, in short it'll be a much more peaceful thing. I'd like the trophies return to be a secondary thing and keep playing on this profile wouldn't help, so I'm going to create another one. Then anyway, I want this profile to remain as I left it, with all the games at 100%. I don't like the idea of continuing here because I want it to be a sort of "rebirth". I wanna completely change my approach with trophies and gaming in general.
With this profile I pushed myself beyond my limits and had very great satisfaction. It was a really nice experience, I'm glad of that.
Goodbye, guys. Good luck with everything!

Oh man, now way. Sad to see this here but I assume you have very good reasons to quit. I too have experience trophy or even gaming burnout at times. On those cases, the best thing is doing what you are doing right now, quitting for a while and try something else in the meantime. I know you say you are planning to not come back to this profile, but who knows, right? Things happen.
Anyway, your profile is very impressive. Been following your exploits for a short while and I know you're a guy who likes to tackle some near-impossible challenges, and that's pretty inspiring onto itself. Whatever your endeavors may be, I wish you great luck. If you decide to return here, we'll be more than happy to continue reading about you.
#78: Wolfenstein: The Old Blood
I preferred New Order by far. Didn't like too much the story and in some sections of the game I got a bit bored. Still a pretty good game though.
Platinum talking, as with New Order it's possible to get the Über trophy simply by completing the last chapter.
In addition to this, there's also challenge mode, where you have to play at least on "I am death incarnate!" difficulty in order to get the gold on all the ten levels. However it's still very doable and apart from a couple of maps I did almost everything with no problem.
#77: Wolfenstein: The New Order
I enjoyed it, really a great game. The story is not bad and is well told, and I found the gameplay very rewarding, it was fun!
Simple platinum if you use the trick of doing just the last chapter on Über. The rest of the trophies are related to collectibles and perks, nothing complicated.
100% #49: Urban Trial Freestyle
Really cool game, I heard it's a clone of Trials Fusion. Never tried the Trials games, but I'll definitely do it after this one!
100% a bit hard but still doable. Only hard trophy is getting 5 stars on all the levels and some of them are annoying.

It deviates way too much from the true Trials formula. The new mechanics are no fun at all. On-foot sections with bad controls, a hook mechanic that sucks. I think that all tracks never exceed the difficulty of a medium track in Fusion or Rising. The only fun track is prolly the very last one, but even that is ruined with on-foot sections.
However its a fairly short game, so its not that big of a deal if you dont enjoy it.
Since it really doesnt matter with which game you start, yeah it would be probably best to get the bad game done first.
On the other hand, Rising has the best tutorial which will help for all other Trials games, but the harder lections unlock after progressing the main game, so you basically would need to put in a few hours.
#76: Grand Theft Auto III
Game has badly aged, unfortunately. The controls, especially the aiming system, are really awful and make the game frustrating unnecessarily. Not to mention the camera. Played today, it loses a lot, surely at the time was much better, we're still talking about a game that's almost twenty years old.
I hope Vice City will be better, gameplay talking, since it's 80s themed I'll surely like it regardless.
Simple plat if you use cheats, you have to complete the game at 100% and you need to be careful to do missions in the right order, because otherwise you won't be able to complete them (only in two cases you can miss them anyway). I also reccomend not using the money cheat because it glitches the criminal rating, and don't abuse of tank cheat because it can corrupts the save (I didn't use either of them and didn't have any issues). I've also read that the Riot cheat makes the final mission impossible, or at least very difficult apparently, so don't use it as well.
100% #47: Sonic Mania
My first Sonic game, I liked it but not too much actually, but in the end it's still a pretty good Platform. Maybe someday I'll try the other games.
100% pretty simple.
Hardest trophy is for sure getting gold in every Blue Spheres stage, btw with a guide and some attempts is doable.
A note for the "Collect 'Em All" trophy. Since it can only be done in Mania mode, if like me you started the game with Sonic & Tails, before restarting from scratch with another character (with them it's hard because Tails damages enemies), try to keep him flying while you do the rest. In this way I did it quite easily.

@Honor_Hand Thanks, I'll see. Mania wasn't bad, nice Platform but nothing more. I'm not used to the Sonic games, I found the controls a bit uncomfortable tbh, even after some hours. Style and music are very very cool btw, the look is very good. I'm curious to try the others, I see there's a lot of games!
@mecharobot Yes indeed, they are too many! They were just boring, not fun at all.
#75: Raiden IV: OverKill
It's happened. FINALLY!
Game was fun, it's a nice shmup! I enjoyed it until I had to do the 1ccs runs though.
Even though I used pause-exploit, it's been truly hard and I'm giving it a 10 anyway. The 1ccs with the pause are a like an endurance test. You need to play 2h+ (depending on how much you pause) and you have to stay really focused untile the end. If I remember well, I took about 2 hours and 10 minutes for Normal and Hard, and 2 hours and 40 minutes for Very Hard and Ultimate.
I was doing fine until I had to do Very Hard, then I don't know... I got lost. I thought to give up several times but in the end I didn't (thankfully). There's a big gap between Hard and Very Hard, it's just crazy.
The hardest 1ccs were Very Hard indeed, and Normal, because you're learning to master the pause trick and the game in general. Then Hard, which is pretty much like Normal, also after the first 1cc, you got used to the thing and it becomes easier than the first time, and Ultimate. Yes, I said Ultimate. It's supposed to be the highest difficulty, but I did it in less than a day after Very Hard (with three total lifes left! xD). This shows how important mentality is. If you think you can't do it, you won't make it. After doing Very Hard I realized that it was possible, and I did Ultimate right away. IMO if you can do Normal you can do Hard, and if you can do Very Hard you can do Ultimate as well. The problem is just between Hard and Very Hard indeed, as I said because of the gap there is.
Then Double Play (two ships at one time). Luckily you can play on Normal and you just have to do the first loop. I underestimated it though, it's been actually quite difficult. It's hard to use the pause here, but I managed to use it anyway. While pauseing, sometimes I moved just one ship at time, and others I moved the sticks togheter with the left hand, with the right thumb fixed on Options (I used DS4 for all the 1ccs because I had issues with my DS3s).
I saved the replay for the Ultimate and Double Play runs. If I can make a video with my phone, I'll upload the runs on YT, for those interested.
Absolutely one of the games I'm most proud of. Really glad it's over.
When you took 10 days to do Very Hard and less than a day to do Ultimate... it can't be, seriously. And I did it with 3 lives left in total. x'D I'm soooooooo happy that I'm DONE with the 1cc 2 loops. I still have to do the 1cc on Double yes, but since I can play on Normal and, most importantly, it's just the first loop, I'm not too much worried about that.
I hope to do it in the next days and then, I can finally say a BIG goodbye to this game.
I'm almost there. I tried the Double and it doesn't seem too bad. With some practice I should definitely do it. At this point nothing can stop me!
After over a week from clearing the 1cc on Hard and thinking about giving up several times, I just did VERY HARD. I can't believe it.
Now for Ultimate, I can't give up now. I just CAN'T! This nightmare will end at some point.
Done the 1cc on Normal on Raiden IV, with two lives in total! I still made some mistakes, but I did it.
I also found a good strategy for the True Boss with Vulcan. If I can get to it with at least 4/5 bombs, or at least another life remaining, I should be safe.
Now it's time to do Hard, it should be pretty much like Normal so I hope to get it done soon.
I managed to get to work the d-pad with the DS4 on Raiden IV! Basically I was playing with the Wireless function and the diagonal imputs didn't worked, as you know I've said in the other status, but if you play just with the USB cable, it works! No idea why but it is so.
Btw, with my stupid DS3, I got to the True Boss but I failed because I had just one life left. I did a lot of mistakes in the run but I guess I'm getting better at it.
The all thing is really stressful, I'll take my time and hope to not give up.
Yeah, it works better when you plug it in or so I've heard. I thought you had plugged in the controller into the console last time. 😅
Best of luck with the game @Nostalgy_Flow 👍
Nice, my DualShock 3 is giving me problems with the buttons pressing by themselves, on Raiden IV this stupid controller drops the bombs by itself or makes the ship doing unpredicatable movements and I can screw the run because of this. Then, how the f*ck should I be able to clear those 1cc runs? It's already so difficult, I'm just wasting my time in this way. I have another controller but to make work the Start button I've to press it very strong because is kinda broken, and since I have to constantly spam it for the pause-exploit, it's not really the best thing, you know. Plus, I tried using the DS4 and guess what? The d-pad doesn't work properly on this game! If you press up-right or down-left etc, you can't move diagonally (with the DS3 you can, of course). I could use the stick yeah, but the d-pad is way more better IMO because it allows you to make precise movements while you keep pausing.
Either I buy a new DS3, or I'll have to do it with the stick. I'm already hating this game.

I see. Mines were only a couple of buttons, not all of them. You're welcome, hope you find a way to solve that issue.
And yes, I also used to whack my controller on the sides or just shake it around until it stopped pressing the damn buttons lol But really, that little fix there solved the issue completely.
@NaseemJohn The game is fun until you have to do the 1cc.
I think this will be one of my frustrating plat. With the pause it's "doable", compared without it at least, but very long because in any case the runs in this way can last even 2.5/3 hours I've read, so you need to find time to do them and it's not a walk in the park, I mean you need to stay really focused all the time. Without the pause trick, well, I don't even want to imagine what would be like.
Finally got my 2nd QUZ no damage run, I've already got the Bird of Legend trophy and the platinum of the game, this was just for pure fun because I truly love this game!
I messed up the counterkill with Dark Flare but whatever, it's still a better run than my previous one. Heavy Gluttons was perfect, countering G.T.V. instead would've been too risky so I sticked to the safest way.
100% #45: Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon
I don't particularly like Far Cry games but I really wanted to do this one in particular because I love the 80s style/atmosphere. The game was pretty fun and the OST is just pure gold damn! I definitely recommend it, also you don't need to have played Far Cry 3, since it's a stand-alone expansion, just in case you're wondering.
Nothing much to say about the trophies, just play the story and then do the secondary stuff. Really easy.
Now it's time to play Kingdom Hearts II, I planned its plat to be my 3.500 trophy for the milestone, so let's go!
#66 & 100%: DmC Devil May Cry
Wonderful Action by Ninja Theory, although I prefer the original DMC style, I appreciated it very much. I liked a lot the combat system, really fluid and varied.
However, in this version, I didn't particularly liked Vergil, I found him a bit uncomfortable and slow, as opposed to DMC4 or even in the 3 where he was a beast, at least for me.
Platinum a little long due to the many runs but still very simple, even on DMD.
The only difficulty I found it was in Vergil's DLC on Hell and Hell with the boss in mission 5, which is really a pain, btw by spamming Drive+Stomp is doable with a few attempts.
100% #44: Bombing Busters
One of the many clones of Bomberman, pretty short game but in the end nice, even though it's a bit frustrating sometimes hehe.
100% really doable once you understand a bit the game, it's just about having luck with the powerups and keep trying.
The trophies practically require three stars on each of the 30 levels, which are obtained by completing them in maximum two minutes. Although they would be 25, since for the 5 bosses it's enough to simply defeat them to get the three stars, there are no time limits. And luckily it's so because in the fourth I've far exceeded the 2 minutes lol.
Btw it's just a matter of patience and luck (especially the final boss), nothing else. The most difficult bosses for me were the third and indeed the final boss.
#64: Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
Slowly I'm catching up with the series, after playing and loved the first KH, it was the moment of CoM, which unfortunately I didn't like very much. I appreciated that they wanted to try to make a gameplay totally different from the usual based on a system with cards, but unfortunately there was nothing to do for me, I didn't enjoyed it at all.
The platinum took me more or less like the first, about 46 hours, of which about 10 I think only to grind the maximum level of Riku... it was really annoying, also because its story lasts much less than Sora's, and basically the time you spend with him will be pretty much grinding xp.
Luckily here on PS4 the difficulties trophies are stackable, so all the mandatory runs that were on PS3 are no longer needed.
I did everything directly on Proud, and except for some bosses, I had no problems at all, also thanks to the really useful guide here on PSNP.
A note for the trophy to get all Sora's cards.
There's a very recent method (I didn't saw it even on the trophy guides), to force the drop of practically all the enemies's cards: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsHpXR8CwGU.
I recommend you absolutely use it because otherwise you will lengthen the platinum. With the Neoshadow, however, I found that it doesn't work, so you have to get it normally, but however while grinding the last levels of Sora, you will automatically get more than one of them, at least it was so for me.
#63: DooM 3
What to say, one of the sagas, if not the most important, for the FPS genre.
Besides the remastered DooM 3 and its two expansions, in the BFG Edition there are also the first two DooM, which despite being more than 20 years behind, are still very enjoyable.
The 3 compared to the first two is much slower and claustrophobic. Narrow and dark spaces with monsters popping out every two steps, sometimes they make you scare hahaha.
The game is okay, the only thing I've really hated was L3 (held down) to sprint, since you can and must run in all directions to escape the enemies attacks, it isn't really the best thing. Sometimes I had thumb pains lol.
Platinum is doable, but so annoying for the slowness of all.
You need to beat the first two DooM on Ultra-Violence difficulty (and luckily not on Nightmare, because that difficulty is just crazy), but since you can save the game everytime it's not so bad. Initially it was fun, but after a while I got bored though. At least the expansion of DooM II can be done even at the lowest difficulty, but it's very short anyway.
In DooM 3 instead well, you have to complete Nightmare! And not just in the basic game, but also in the expansions.
Same here, having the ability to always save makes this kinda easy, but it's really annoying because you need to save every second and the loading screens aren't really that fast. In addition, health in this difficulty is fixed at 25% (if you have more it falls down to 25% and then stops), so therefore almost everything oneshot kills you. With extreme patience, however, it's definitely doable.
Thanks to AvengedByAnarchy, Celestial_Ashes and OnlyHardPlatinum for the online trophies!

Awesome Gotta love Doom. I personally love the classic Doom the most but the 3 is alright too. A bit too dark and claustrophobic at times but still a good game. Yeah, clearing the game on the hardest difficulty was kind of a pain due to how slow the game is to load your save file and the fact that you have to save like every 5 second or whenever you enter a new room since everything can pretty much one-shot kill you with health at 25.
The extra content for Doom 3 was alright but, the best part of that package was playing the old games again. Lol I got more enjoyment out of those than of Doom 4.
Can't wait to play the newest one on PS4
@Honor_Hand I'm considering the idea of doing the reboot on PS4, I've seen some videos and it looks pretty cool! Those several online trophies in the DLCs worry me though. I heard that they aren't easily boostable, but if they aren't too difficult I'll think about it. Btw trophies or not, I'll play it anyway at some point!
It definitely deserves a playthrough. I never go for DLC unless it comes with the disc I got the game in but yeah, I've heard those are pretty time-consuming. We also have Doom Eternal to look for on the horizon
#62: Metal Slug Anthology
Difficulty: 2/10 (Assuming you use the two pads trick)
Awesome games, but unfortunately the input lag makes them almost unplayable. I have no idea what they did with this collection, a lot of years have passed since the last time I played a Metal Slug, but hell, I don't think there was so much lag in the original games.
Super easy plat with the two controllers trick found out by a guy here on PSNP (https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/69144-a-simple-trick-to-get-this-plat-easily/). With this thing, you can die as much as you want, and the game won't count the continues you use, so this makes the 5cc runs really a joke.
Basically the only "difficult" thing is to complete a mission of each game by saving at least 10 prisoners, since if you die you lose them. With a couple of tries you can do it without any problems though.
A note for Metal Slug 6: When you finish the lives, be sure to join IMMEDIATELY with the other controller, because if the countdown-screen shows up, you won't be able to join with the other controller. I have no idea why but it is so.

Ooh, I recently got that one on PS4 to play with my girl. Need to find a second controller first though. Only have the pad that came with the console at the moment. 😅
Nice to see that there was a trick to make it easier lol. And it's a shame that there is so much input lag on the game. A port issue, perhaps? Either way, congrats on the Platinum. I'm aiming to get this one soon as well
Remake of the original released back in 2003, it's a Rhythm Game pretty nice and despite it made me literally mad, I enjoyed it. Cool the idea of playing different instruments throughout the duration of the song (drum, bass, synth, vocals and in some songs even the guitar). For the rest I don't have much else to say, except that this game made me realize how bad I am in this genre! :'D
Platinum talking, it was seriously hard, more than anything else for the "Fluid Intelligence" trophy (Complete a 15-song campaign on Expert difficulty or above without failing, retrying, or quitting). The campaign lasts one hour, it's difficult because you need to get several points to access to the bonus songs, and you can't try again, fail or exit the game, so everything must be done in one session without making mistakes. Before succeeding, in addition to tons of practice, I got really close to it twice and then finally I did it, with my heart to a thousand.
The rest well, there's to do every song on Super, but this was far easier than the perfect campaign on Expert, because at least they're just single songs, and with some attempts you can do them without too problems. Some songs are really annoying though.
- Show previous comments 4 more
Congrats on the Platinum man. I remember you I saw an update of you struggling with the game. Glad that you git it finished. Rhythm games are cool but they are the bane of my existence so I'll probably stay away from this one hahaQuote
Before succeeding, in addition to tons of practice, I got really close to it twice and then finally I did it, with my heart to a thousand.
Ooh, I know that feeling. I sometimes put the game on pause and go for a walk on the house while taking deep breaths to calm myself down.
I'm seriously hating this damned game. TWICE I got to the end in the Campaign for the Fluid Intelligence trophy, and then I screwed up everything. I know I can do it but damn, this shit is driving me crazy.
Initially the game didn't convinced me much. It's a sort of Puzzle-Platform and Puzzle games in general aren't my thing, but after a bit of playing, I pretty much enjoyed it!
I think the idea is really original, the gameplay is much more complex than you can think at first sight, because there are a lot of techniques and being able to master everything isn't that simple. For the rest I enjoyed the plot and I loved the characters too! Also the OST is gold, especially the bar songs and the one from Obelisk, probably my favorite track of the game.
Platinum quite challenging, but with insistence and patience isn't impossible, indeed.
For the golds on Hard and the Rapunzel minigame, you can follow a guide in complete tranquility, because the levels are always the same. The stages with bosses however (especially the last two levels of the game) are a bit random, and although you follow a guide, sometimes things won't go as you want.
The real obstacle to the Catherine plat is undoubtedly Babel, mode where the stage is randomly generated and therefore, you can't totally rely on the guide. However, even though they're random, I noticed that the patterns of the blocks are the same, sometimes. So it may be still useful to watch some videos, to see how others deal with the various situations.
Worst stage for me was Obelisk, the most random level because of those infamous random blocks and bombs. Axis Mundi instead strangely didn't give me any problem, done it in about an hour.
Btw, I absolutely reccomend doing all the levels in Pair Mode with the double controller, since you have fewer steps to do. You can even use the two controllers by yourself like I did, but sure, if you have someone who helps you it's better.

Hey there, a bit late over here but I wanted to congratulate you on the Platinum. Great summary of your impression about the game above. I didn't know you could play the game with a partner, at least some of the levels I assume? Pretty cool. It does give me an idea to invite someone to play with me ^^
Also, that Platinum image Love it x3
Yep, you can play in co-op all the 4 levels of Babel. There's also the Colosseum, for what I understood it's like a competitive mode (?) I haven't tried it so I don't know properly. There's only a trophy related to it and you just have to unlock it, not playing it

Awesome work man. And holy, I didn't know the Catherine plat was so rare. I got the game myself but I haven't even popped it yet. Still waiting for that sudden burst of motivation to play it. Good luck with the Platinum. Once you are done with Rapunzel, you will be earning another very rare title for your profile.
@Hemiak Yeah, me too. I've failed several times towards the end, unfortunately sometimes you are forced to climb on random blocks, and if you are unlucky to get a bomb, your tower can be destroyed in no time. Also sometimes I falled because of ice blocks, and this made me so angry because it's so stupid hahaha
@Honor_Hand Thanks! Yeah it's so rare, but as Hemiak said, the EU version it's much rarer than the other one. I have no idea why though...
