  1. Just felt like sharing a thought that came to mind while playing The Witcher III… I must admit, I have had a lot of trouble getting into this game. I don’t play that much nor that often and for the first hours I was really struggling with the gameplay mechanics, the vast inventory, getting involved into the story, etc. At some point I really felt like quitting, but was at the same time very uncomfortable with the idea of leaving it standing at a miserable 5% achievement on my profile. So I decided to keep trying for a while, just in case. And I’m glad I did – now that I’ve understood the combat system and am more familiar with the interface, now that I’m further into the plot, I’m realizing what a damn masterpiece this game actually is. I’m really thankful I did not put this game back on the shelf when I was feeling like it. Which brings me to the point: I would probably have missed one of the best games of the decade if it hadn’t had a trophy list attached. So – thank you, trophies!
  2. Now THAT really s***... That being said, better have a delayed game than an unfinished one.
  3. Well, A Plague Tale. The one this post is about... :-) Quite agree, didn't know this site. I suspect I'll get back to it now.
  4. Thanks for this. While you're at it, any chance you might feel like writing a trophy guide for this game down here? ;-)
  5. As I do not lack self-confidence I started my Vita experience directly with a nice, gentle, easy-peasy shooter... And got my big fat ass kicked quite badly 😂
  6. After entirely spending my second half of 2019 on The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, I'll get started in 2020 with something I suspect will be quite less ambitious and time consuming, though I must admit I have been looking forward to playing it...
  7. You did well to actually 😁 It was with PS3 games, obviously 😉 Or wait for the PS+ digital version next week so you no longer have to bother with the disc, might be worth a try...
  8. Quite weird. First assumption was, if it’s neither the patch nor your disc then it’s logical to assume it’s an hardware issue... But this ? The Blu-ray drive of my PS3 just let go a few years ago without any warning. Played a game just fine, the next day it would no longer read it.
  9. Quite a tough choice to make... I just somehow realized how many awesome games have been released lately, it’s been a great treat for players 👍 With no order of priority, would go for: - God of War (2018) : probably one of my GOAT games, technically amazing with great gameplay and a compelling story. As close to perfect as you can get... - The Witcher III Wild Hunt : actually just finished it after spending countless hours doing side quests, exploring the world, fighting monsters and looting great stuff. One the greatest RPG I have laid my hands on. - Journey : this one comes from the heart, beyond rational argument or facts. Just a extremely intense experience I strongly recommend to anyone who enjoys games like no other. At first I was surprised to see almost no Uncharted mentions, but ultimately even the fourth one, though a great game closing wonderfully Nate’s journey, lacks this little thing to get room in a top 3. Would surely see quite more occurrences in a top 10...
  10. I have this golden rule of mine to never, ever spend my hard-earned money in a blind way. So no preorders for me, no matter how hyped I am on a game nor how many “awesome” bonuses are proposed...
  11. For a second I thought Santa actually existed and had the devs release an actual extension to this masterpiece of a game... So disappointing 😢
  12. All in all I’d rather have Sony confirm that PS5 will propose day one backwards compatibility with PS4 and (let’s dream) PS3 games, so we no longer need to expect a shitload of remasters as a launch lineup...
  13. Except that Hellblade II is to be an Xbox exclusive, now that Ninja Theory has been acquired by Microsoft... As mentioned above, it would mean for Sony to directly fund its arch-rival and contribute promoting its exclusive game. I don’t see this happening.
  14. Not likely to ever become an X-Box player but I must say Microsoft did a very interesting job on the design here - I quite like it 👍
  15. Reviving this thread so I can develop my feelings about this game, now that I’m almost done with it. Gents, what a game!!! I’ve been on it for over six months now (I don’t play that much and tend to take my time) and don’t even feel bored or willing to quit. Rather sad to no longer have any main quest waiting for me in the log… I could write for hours about it. About its organically perfect open world, about the great narrative and the addictive plot in which your choices actually do matter, about the characters so interesting you end up caring about them, about the massive content, about the care brought by the devs to the various side quests and optional plots, about the exceptionally well-matched dialogs and how they always adapt to fit in the way the player has advanced in the story… I could keep going on and on until I bore everyone. So will just keep it simple and consider it as one of my GOAT games, along with other masterpieces like Ocarina of Time, the God of War reboot, Red Dead Redemption, F-Zero or Metroid Prime. I discovered videogames on NES in the early 90s so coming from me, that’s really saying something. Indeed, I could not agree more. Both Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine should be set as examples for all developers who consider adding DLC to any game – both could well have been standalones actually. B&W is quite great but I particularly enjoyed HoS and its superb cast, with a special mention to Gaunter O’Dimm – man, what a freaky character! Almost a nobody when you first met him in White Orchard, and quite a bit more when he re-enters the story. The more the plot develops, the more you get uncomfortable with the bloke… Definitely my favorite villain in a quite a while!
  16. Well, nothing for me this month. Shame, it had been a damn nice straight lately...
  17. Only the GOTY editions, actually. The vanilla one had a single list. I stopped trying to understand this kind of things long ago...
  18. I guess EA expects this to boost sales. Rightly so, in my opinion...
  19. Like most people I certainly wouldn’t spend so much money for a not-even-good-looking avatar, but after all whoever put it on sale is damn right to do so. It probably costed nothing to produce and only selling a few ones will make it profitable. If there are wealthy people willing to pay for it, everyone wins :-) And I would add that if the goal was to create a buzz, they did an excellent job 🙃
  20. Ah OK, sorry I definitely missed that one - thanks 😊
  21. I’m afraid that’s not the point, though I could ask whether you never, ever suffer any connection issue. The point is that when you invest 70€/$ in a game, you should be able to use it as you see fit. Indeed...
  22. I’ll sure sign it though I would be quite surprised Blizzard gives a damn about this... I hate these mandatory online features so whenever you have a connection issue, you can’t even kill time on your game 😠
  23. Critics are not unanimous but all seem to agree on how innovative Death Stranding is, on how it is unlike any other game ever released. This deserves to be stressed out. Not sure if I will ever play it as I'm generally not a Kojima fan but it's important to praise people who actually bring something to the media, explore new ways, develop new ideas and new mechanics instead of just endlessly surfing on existing concepts. So – thank you Mr. Kojima, and please keep it up :-)
  24. Please tell me it’s a joke...
  25. Honestly I don’t remember my Pro ever not souding like a jet fighter at take-off...
