  1. Hey! I finally joined Twitter after a bit of arm twisting from @TheLoneliestPanda😂. Feel free to give me a follow if you want to see a mass of screenshots, gaming by the dozen and loads of indie bands😂.

    1. TheLoneliestPanda

It was NOT easy to convince her!

  2. It's been such a long time since I last logged in here and spoken to anyone in a long time either, this was both through personal choice and because I needed time to process everything that had happened in my life in such a short space of time. I've been through so much change and loss through the last year and it just all got too much for me.

A year on and now I feel happier in myself and happier with my life as I got a new, less stressful job and things seem better at home. Now I feel like I can be happy gaming again and actually feel good trophy hunting again 😁. Writing this, I feel happy to be coming back to this site and to the friends I haven't chatted to for a long time!

Now I just need a Platinum to stamp my return to trophy hunting 😂!

@Sifferino, thank you! It's great you meet you and I hope your having a blast on these forums! 😁

@Galactic Hyper Balls, thank you! I never knew how much being a human sucks until this time last year but I feel stronger for getting through it, if you get me.

Got my sword ready and some games lined up! Get ready to slay!😂

@MidnightDragon, hey thank you! How have you been? I'm really sorry I haven't messaged for a long time. How's the job hunting going? :)

    3. MidnightDragon

Slow, but have something to keep me occupied for now.

    4. ee28max

Welcome back! Glad to see you're doing okay and that you have returned. :)

  3. Man, I haven't posted on here for a while and look at that, a new year came! Isn't that funny. Anyway, I seem to have become rather lost with gaming at the minute what with everything that has happened over the past few months. I really want to get back into trophy hunting to try and get back some normality to my life, but when I try it just sort of seems strange, which really upsets me as it's always been something I enjoy. I feel like I don't have time to game anymore so what's the point in doing it and I feel like I should be rushing through games when I do play them so I feel like I've actually played something, which I know is wrong.

I don't really know what to do, as gaming is a massive part of my life and I really want to get back into loving it again. Perhaps I should go back to a favourite series of mine such as Tomb Raider, Sims, Kingdom Hearts or Stardew Valley etc. I just don't know...

I'm really sorry for the big rant, but I just feel like I needed to get this off my chest a little and also to chat to some gamers who may understand what I'm feeling/could help me.

@MidnightDragon, yeah Sims is definitely a great game. I could go back and build a family home 🤔

    4. mecharobot

Switch is a good option, but also there is nothing stopping people from playing games they already platted, especially with the ridiculously low plat requirements some games have. Did some Peach Beach Splash multiplayer on new years eve with the community and it was good fun to beat modes I did not have chance to do before, even got some new stuff from it. In some cases, the trophies might be a good end goal, but I've found that in others they are the opposite. And I'm not talking about something like grinding, I'm talking about trophies or guides completely omitting entire gameplay modes because they're not necessary, even though they could be arguably very lucrative like doing FoBs in MGSV Phantom Pain.

  4. It looks like Santas been early this year! To the lovely person who has gifted me a Lifetime Premium Membership, thank you so much! It really means a lot and It was such a lovely surprise to see when I logged in! ^_^

Congrats! I wonder if it's same person/s that bought it for me last week.

    3. gruffiiti

There have been a lot of these random acts of kindness lately. Mad Karma points to those responsible! :D

    4. ee28max

Congratulations! You among a lot of people received gifts of a premium membership lately :D

  5. I'm considering buying the Final Fantasy XV Season Pass now to get the Comrades DLC done before the whole thing goes in December, but from the opinion of people who have done it, would I be able to finish it all in time baring in mind that I work 4 days a week?

It seems a shame to not play the game, but I really wanted to play it all or nothing really and I suppose I shouldn't have waited so long but I was just trying to wait until the whole DLC thing had been finished and I could dive into the whole thing at once.

    1. Savyna

It should be around 50 hours to complete every trophy. I'm on it myself and this is what mostly everyones says.

  6. Finally finished the story of Celeste! I finished the story with 2107 Deaths, 53 Strawberries and 3 Cassettes collected which isn't bad considering how bad I have been at this game. I was really tempted to use Assist Mode at one point to help me finish the story, but I'm proud that I didn't as I feel like I've experienced Madeline's emotional and physical struggle due to the difficulty of the game. Now I'm going to use Assist Mode to get the rest of the Strawberries etc, as I feel this is fitting with how Madeline's story ended.

Also making this my 10th Platinum/Milestone Platinum as it relates to me on such a big level, especially with what's happened to me this year, so I'm looking forward to making it my 10th! :D

    1. The Shopkeeper

      The Shopkeeper

Such a great game. I think I ended on twelve hundred and something deaths but I had less strawberries.

Do you have a Switch? I forgot. I played Celeste on there, and last week I finished The Messenger, also an amazing platformer though one with more action.

    2. AshestoAshes28

@Agent 47, I do have a Switch and when Celeste goes on sale again on there, I'll be double dipping which I don't normally do, but I'll make an exception for Celeste :). I've also been looking at The Messenger as well and it's been on my wish list for a while.

Any other games like Celeste on the Switch that you know of? The Switch kind of seems like the better place to get these types of games, if you get what I mean.

    3. The Shopkeeper

      The Shopkeeper

If you mean "the Switch can handle Celeste type graphics as well as the PS4, and the Switch has the benefit of portability" then I get exactly what you mean. Also, with these bit type graphics, I think it's better to watch on a smaller screen.

With games "like" Celeste, are you looking for the emotional story, or the no-mistakes-allowed platforming? I've got a huge list of games I've played and I play a lot of platformers :)

The Messenger is at the top of my recommend list. Great action platformer and the discussions with the Shopkeeper are insanely funny. If it's platforming you want, Shovel Knight is also a definitive recommend. But Celeste is probably the hardest, which is why it has save states at the end of every screen.

  7. Been really into gaming again these past few weeks and I've even bagged myself a few platinums along the way;

    #5 - The Adventure Pals

    #6 - Lone Survivor

    #7 - Claire

    #8 - L.A. Cops

    100% - The Park

I know there only small quick games, but I just wanted to clear some simple games from the backlog before I move onto the numerous RPGS I have on my shelf!😃

I hated Claire and Lone Survivor... but survival horror isn't my thing anyway but congrats :) I spent a month getting the plat on Metal Gear Rising, it is nice just to chill and get some easy plats done :)

    3. AshestoAshes28

@ChristIllusion12, thank you! :) I've been known to do that with a few games before too so I definitely agree that it's nice to get some easy plats done! I find there great fillers for when you can't decide what to they fit with me quite well most of the time considering how indecisive I am 😂🤔

    4. ChristIllusion12

@AshestoAshes28 I just turn to the easy ones when I can't stomach to face another difficult one, like at the minute I've decided to do some easy ones before I go back and finish off Max Payne 3 but yeah, short easy platinums what you can knock out in an afternoon or so are fun to do.. I like it when I have those kind of days and I earn like 30 trophies in a single day xD

  8. So I brought The Long Dark a few weeks ago and started it up last night, only to find that Episodes 3-5 aren't finished yet and I've just read online that Episodes 1-2 are going to be completely overhauled and will be different again when Episode 3 comes out in December! Now I kind of feel like I've started it for nothing really and should have just waited, so I'm going to wait until December to play it.

    Now I'm back to the deciding what to play...again. Can you help me please, otherwise I'll spend four days trying to decide what to play 😂Here's my thoughts/list;

    Horizon: Zero Dawn

    Final Fantasy XV

    Tomb Raider

Celeste is awesome if you like platformers.  No combat in the game really, just pure platforming challenges and a surprisingly quirky/touching story.  Since I love platformers, once I got my hands on it I had a hard time putting it down.  I can't speak to the platinum (I played Celeste on PC) but it's a pretty quick game too if you're just playing through the story... barring any difficulty spikes you run into.  It's pretty challenging at times.

    3. DamagingRob

Another vote for Horizon. A really beautiful game. Although, my inner fanboy wants me to say Tomb Raider.

    4. AshestoAshes28

Thank you guys! I think I'll be starting Horizon Zero Dawn when I've finished Claire! I've got my Collectors Guide ready and raring to go!

  9. I started Mafia 3 yesterday and I'm sat playing it now, and I've got to say, I'm not feeling it today. It's not the game, it's just lately I feel a little lost when it comes to deciding what to play and then sticking with it, so I think I need to go back to an oldie but a goodie sort of game that I always go to when I feel like this. So I think I'm going to fire up the Xbox One and chuck in State of Decay as I can get absolutely lost in that game, go back to it a lot and it may even give me my gaming mojo back 😁!

After going outside into the sunshine, I'll just play a favorite game, even one I've beat before.  That is what gaming is all about, isn't it?  Having fun.  I have some great games that I know I need to be in the right frame of mind to start and stay with them.

    3. PermaFox

@AshestoAshes28  BTW, how did you like Mafia 3?  I haven't started it yet but would like to hear your thoughts.

    4. AshestoAshes28

@Bos10George, @Spawn, and @PermaFox, thank everyone! :) I think I just need to forget about trophy/achievement hunting for a while as I work 3 days a week so it's like my mind is thinking, 'you've got to make the most of this time off before you go back to work' but then I'm so indecisive about what to play or I'm so hung up on getting the trophies/achievements for the game that I waste my time and don't get any games done in the process. So I think I'm going to take @Spawn's advice and turn of the notifications and just play to play if you get what I mean!

On another note, State of Decay is making me feel better, but I think I'll need to get the big guns out (Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon :P) at some point over the next few days haha!

@PermaFox, sorry your extra reply only just loaded when I hit reply on the big reply above. Mafia 3 is a pretty great game, but it can get pretty repetitive when it comes to gameplay and actual story as well to be honest. But I'd still recommend it to you as it is a good game overall. :)

  10. Platinum #4: Mafia 2! What a masterpiece of a game, but it's a real shame that they made those DLCS as they are shocking, which I don't normally say about games, but there you go.

Onto something new now, so I think I might start Mafia 3 now so I can catch up with Vito! 😁

    4. AshestoAshes28

@PooPooBlast, yeah I get what you mean, I've played it on an old account :). And I also love a little bit of Vito, so I'll be playing all his cutscenes :).

      @DamagingRob, thank you! :)

      @Honor_Hand, thank you! :D

  11. Got my first proper paycheck this morning, so to mark the occasion and to have something incredibly special and beautiful, I went and brought these beauties from Fangamer!😍💚

  12. Hey! Just wanted to say thank you for your video review/gameplay of The Adventure Pals! I was on the fence about getting this, but after watching your video and seeing how cute it is, I brought it immediately! Keep up the great work with the videos! 😁

    1. cronocyde

That's really nice of you, thank you for contacting me! 🙂 Really means a lot that my videos are helping others and that it brings more attention and coverage on the game itself. I recently platinum the game and it was a great experience for sure, especially in co-op. Let me know if you have any questions and thank you again for contacting me. Literally made my day 😬

    2. AshestoAshes28

No problem! I'm glad that you did the video to be honest as I hadn't heard of it before seeing it on here and I love these little indie games, but most importantly, I love to support them! I can't wait to play it so I'll let you know when I've started it :D! I'm happy that I've made your day!

    3. cronocyde

Appreciate the response my friend, thanks a lot! Let me know what you think of the game! 🙂

  13. Going to start working on my PS3 backlog now and first up is a classic, Mafia 2! 😃 Absolutely love this game and it's been sooo long since I last played it, so I'm excited to get back into it!

  14. And with the completion of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, I've now completed the whole N.Sane Trilogy! 😁 What a fantastic set of games! I loved playing these games (stupid Stormy Ascent level 😒) and I'm happy to have them on my profile, proudly displayed! Now I've just got to decide what to play next...🤔

  15. [Crash Bandicoot 2] I've finally finished / achieved all of the Gold Relics for every level! 😁 They actually weren't as bad as I thought they would be and they were definitely not as bad as the Crash Bandicoot 1 Relics! Just got tomorrow at work and then I've got three days to finish off the Gems, Secret Exits and to be crushed by an ice cube and then I'll have my platinum!😆

  16. {Crash Bandicoot 2} I seem to be making good progress in regards to the time trials as I now have all of Warp Room 5 done! :D This for me is the hardest Warp Room so I'm pretty happy to have it done. Here's hoping the rest of the Warp Rooms don't give me as much hassle...😂

@MMDE, thanks for the video! My time for Spaced Out was around the 1.02 mark and I practically threw my controller when I saw the Gold Relic :P

Great video, and a Gold Relic is definitely a Gold Relic 😂

    3. MMDE
    4. MMDE

And yes, these were annoying if for no other reason than the controls are confusing.

  17. I'm thinking about starting Crash 2/3, but I just wondered what the general feeling is about the difficulty/platinum/gold relics is when it comes to them. 🤔 What's everyone's experiences with them? Are they worse than Crash 1?

    1. Show previous comments  2 more
    2. mecharobot

That depends how comfortable you are with constantly slide jumping/slide spinning while holding down a shoulder button to get the speed boost from running shoes. Crash 3 also has some vehicle levels, which control kind of bad. Imo the hardest levels I think in Crash 2 are Hanging Out, since it has a really tight time and Cold Hard Crash, which for some reason has a more difficult box gem than the relic. Future Tense relic in Crash 3 is also not that tough, imo much easier than the last Jetski level.

    3. SkyesUnholy

Not worse, but can be similarly difficult at times. They're also more fun than the first game, so I say go for it.

    4. AshestoAshes28

Thank you everyone for your replies! You've definitely made me feel better about starting them and I'm glad that they aren't as bad as the first one at least, and it's great that you get the running shoes as well! I'll be starting Crash 2 then when I get home later :P.

    Crash Bandicoot is now 100%!

Thanks @BlindMango! 😃 I can't wait for Spyro! It is literally my childhood and teen years in a game! I spent a lot of my time growing up playing these masterpieces, so I can't wait to get some shiny platinums for them!

    3. BlindMango

For real, same here! I played Spyro so freaking much as a kid, I cannot wait to have it with trophies, I won't be able to contain myself xD

    4. AshestoAshes28

I'm just counting down the days until I get paid so then I can pre-order it and then count down the days! :D

  19. I'm trying and failing to get the Gold Relic on the Stormy Ascent level in Crash Bandicoot, and I could really do with some PSNP Status God magic! So here's hoping this is going to help... :P!

  20. I've been playing The Witcher 3, solidly, for just over a month now and I'm really fancying playing another game for a while. But I always struggle to decide what to play, so can you lot help me out a little 😁, here are the games on my list;

    - Crossing Souls

    - Arizona Sunshine

    - The Invisible Hours

    - Kingdom Hearts

    - Celeste

    - Tomb Raider Series

    - Fallout Series

      Tomb Raider😊

    3. DamagingRob

      Kingdom Hearts.

    4. Honor_Hand

My vote goes for the Tomb Raider series :)

  21. Gone and got my new profile up and running, so now I'm back to doing what I do best! Stalking you lot and trophy hunting (joking about the first part ;)), so I'm happy to be back, well properly this time! :P

Also added myself as a contributor to my guides under my old account so I can keep an eye on them and update them if needed! :)

Speaking of guides, reading my old ones has really made me want to write a new one 🤔! So I think I'll start a new one next week as I've got 5 days in a row off from work :D!

Oh, I've also been playing a lot of The Witcher 3 over the past couple of weeks and I think I can safely say that I'm in love with Gwent, and I'm on track to get the Card Collector trophy.

    1. Squirlruler

Gwent is amazing. Played a ton of it when I did TW3 haha.

    2. AshestoAshes28

The first time I played through TW3, I just couldn't get into Gwent as I just couldn't get my head around it 😂. But I'm glad I went back to it and actually learnt how to play it this time as it's quite a clever mini-game they've put into the game.

    3. MidnightDragon

Glad things are going well for you.
