  1. Just finished a third playthrough of Mafia III and, after going 0/2 on the "flip all" playthrough, this one was going to be my "kill all." I got the informants, but somehow not the bosses. I am so fucking sick of this garbage. 3 playthroughs and 0 boss trophies. I'm never buying another 2K game again.

    1. Spaz

      Spaz

I hold 2K Games responsible for coming out with a game that was unfinished at release. The amount of bugs and glitches Mafia III had when it came out was unacceptable.

Anyway, I see you still need to kill all the racket bosses, but I don't know if your game is glitched or not. I had one trophy glitch on me which forced me to play the game OFFLINE because that was the only way I could earn the trophy.

Shame, because Mafia III has a good story with good compelling characters set in a time period when America was drastically changing.

Looks like they'll fuck up the Mafia 1 remake as well.

  2. Second playthrough of Mafia III done and still didn't get the "flip all bosses" trophy. A game that should only take 2 playthroughs just turned into needing at least 4. Fucking brutal. :(

I feel you there my friend. I went through 3 playthroughs and got nothing unfortunately. I wish I could help, but I tried everything. It's a one big BS that the developers never fixed.

    2. Cynical_Delight

      Cynical_Delight

Brutal! Have the trophies for Mafia III always been bugged? I got the platinum without issues, but this was earlier in the year just before the 'Definitive Edition" came out.

    3. Spaz

      Spaz

That's the only reason to do two playthroughs as well. Just a poorly designed trophy meant to pad the game.

I love the characters, the story and the setting. But it just got really repetitive and rather boring after a while.

  3. :platinum: #165 & 100% #200 - Batman: The Enemy Within. Probably the worst TellTale game available. Weak story, minimal interaction, no emotional connection, no humour, wasn't dark/gritty; it just felt very rushed. 6 plats in 40 days. :)

Hated the first one as well so it seems like we share the same sentiment here lol.

I felt that all we got was a whiney Bruce Wayne who is always bringing up his dead parents in every conversation and has flashbacks of them constantly as if they just recently died.. :l

Then you have that stupid twist at the end of the first game.. ugh.. easily the worst telltale game. Didn't bother with the second one as a result

I actually liked it, but everyone has different tastes. Congrats

@Spaz I thought it was okay as well. TWD seems to be the benchmark for most TT gamers, and for good reason. I mean, c'mon, who didn't cry at the end? xD

@PooPooBlast I agree that the first Bruce Wayne was kind of off, but the game was pretty cool in a several other ways. I feel like that is what saved/elevated it. He's not so bad in the second one (more like bad overacting), but it also lacks in almost every other strong category from the first one, so it just takes away from the experience.

@MidnightDragon I liked it too, but having the previous 5 or 6 games be great, then having this one just be good, technically would still make it the least of the set. It's like having a bunch of 8/10's and one 7/10; it is the lowest, but still decent.

      TWD - emotional

      Borderlands - funny

TWAU - morbid/dark/gritty twist on fairy tales

      Batman 1 - Batman! + new/unique TT mechanics

Batman 2 - same as the first one, but less of everything

  4. :platinum: #164 - Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. 85hrs of "meh." I'm renaming Origins and Odyssey as "O O," as in, "Oh Oh! Assassin's Creed isn't Assassin's Creed anymore." There wasn't even a hidden blade in this one.

I still managed to score :silver: #2,500 and PSN Level 41. :)

There was a hidden blade. It just didn't belong to Alexios/Kassandra. Darius invented it and utilized it. You have to download the DLC and play it to learn the origins of the hidden blade.

@XchocomanX Full blown RPG, and there seems to be a heavier focus on microtransactions and splitting up DLC.

      XchocomanX

      @effdeegee Eeew. Sounds horrible D:

  5. :platinum: #163 & 100% #199 - Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. The best Star Wars game ever made, but fairly mediocre as a game in general. Poor optimization made for way too much graphical pop-in, freezing during level transitions, and just all around bugs/glitches/falling through stuff. End game cleanup was a tedious slog. Also, the Prince of Persia trilogy called; they want their royalties for using their platforming animations. 4 straight plats in June! :)

      Stan Lee

Congrats! Very weird that I never had a single glitch aside from some of the characters T-posing on the ship between missions, everything else played really well. Granted, I only played the story so far so perhaps I'll encounter more when I go clean up.

  6. :platinum: #162 & 100% #198 - LEGO Ninjago Movie: The Videogame. Out of the 16 LEGO games I've played, this is easily one of the lesser instalments, but you just can't beat the price of "free."

@Froopy the Cowbear I think there's actually something like 50 LEGO games.

    4. Froopy the Pogfish

      Froopy the Pogfish

@effdeegee Clearly I was wrong.  Now that is a lot.  Wow.  No wonder there wasn't a collection for them xD

  7. :platinum: #161 & 100% #197 - inFAMOUS: Second Son. Same deal as Ratchet & Clank; played it up to 90%, sold it, found it years later for $5, and only needed one playthrough for that sweet hundy. B)

  8. :platinum: #160 & 100% #196 - Ratchet & Clank PS4. Burnout caused me to stop playing and eventually sell the game, while 3 trophies short of the platinum, more than 2 years ago. I just found it for $5 and thought I'd finally revisit it and finish it off. :)

  9. Watch Dogs 2 just gave me 12 straight :silver: . :)

  10. 100% #195 - Journey. Not the total jizzfest that people make it out to be, but it was kinda neat for a 1-2hr game.

  11. Just had a wonderful experience playing Journey where I met another player and they took me by the hand and showed me every collectible in one playthrough. Not sure if it was a bot, or another human, but thank you all the same. :)

I once played through chapter two to the end with someone, and lost my friend during the final flying section. I waited but they never showed up. Was super bummed.

    4. DamagingRob

      DamagingRob

I think the game mentions the players you met after the credits or something. But they won't show up in your "players met." It's part of the uniqueness that is Journey, not knowing who you're playing with.

  12. 110 trophies in the first 10 days of the month. B)  Not sure if I'll add to it by midnight. loljkthoamirite

  13. 29 trophies yesterday and 21 trophies today; 466 in the last 69 days. That's 7 trophies/day for more than 2 months straight (even better when you factor in sleeping). Dang, yo. I'm blowin' up! These Uncharted games are just spittin' them out! Hooray for trophy whores everywhere! :D

That's most assuredly not a small number ;) Congratulations!

  16. The Witcher III - 180hrs, DLC 100%, 71/79 trophies. It's very tempting to do a second playthrough for the few missables, but PSN has Journey and 3 x Uncharted for free, and I'm buying 4 games tomorrow, so I think I'm done with TW3 for now.

To summarize my experience with the game, I went from "This is definitely NOT the GOTY" to "lol wtf was Skyrim." This is the best RPG ever. :)

As an onlooker that’s perpetually been on the verge of starting this game (for the first time) for what’s felt like forever, but could never seem to fully commit to it, reading these updates have been pretty interesting and informative!

Happy to hear that you enjoyed the adventure, and kudos on seeing it all the way through. :D

  17. I'm now 165hrs into The Witcher III (in 16 days) and, after getting 66/79 trophies, the burnout is starting to set in. I'll probably hit 200hrs and 70/79 trophies, but it looks like this one is gonna go unfinished for now.

It takes a long time to finish, and a good portion of content isn't needed for platinum. You could easily surpass 150 - 200 hours if you decided to do everything, including the DLC particularly Blood and Wine since quite a bit of content was added with it.

I honestly am baffled as to how people got the platinum and 100 percent in under a week. Probably 12 - 15 hours a day speedrunning the game.

But it's definitely one I'll always cherish. Love this game.

  18. I'm now 125hrs into The Witcher III; level 35, fully upgraded Wolf gear, ready for the final boss, mastered Gwent, got both dlc packs waiting in the wings, and now I finally understand...

This game is totally frickin' awesome. Goodbye to the next 125hrs of my life.

  19. Dude, your trophy profile is badass. I saw the games and statistics and thought, "Huh, not friggin' bad at all." Then I looked a bit closer and saw the epic setup for what's to come. :o Nicely done. :D

Very good job with trophy hunting on your end. Anyone with 10 000+ trophies deserves a cookie.

  20. PSN level 40. :)

  21. Save file just corrupted in The Witcher III. The fun just keeps on going...

It was a very simple fix, but still very annoying. If you're wondering what to do if/when this happens to you, know that it's the autosave file that corrupts. To remedy, make a new manual save, close the game, go to system settings and delete the corrupted file, then open the game and load the manual save.

One of the reasons why all of these technical issues (audio cutting out, getting a prompt to say corrupted save every 60sec, etc.) are so infuriating is that they happen during plot-heavy, main story missions and cutscenes.

Another is that it's been happening across all platforms, for 5 years, and they still don't fix it. It's like they made a billion dollars, got a tv spinoff, then said "Fuck you. Got mine." and left their unfinished mess for the consumers.

The worst thing is the hype machine. People that called this the GOTY, or best game ever made, are much too forgiving. I expect better from devs. I'd rather play a mediocre game that functions properly, than a massive AAA title that's riddled with bugs.

    3. kingdrake2

      kingdrake2

i hope you didn't lose much. i had corrupted saves before but thankfully nothing lost more than a few hours of progress.

    4. KingGuy420

      KingGuy420

As for people calling it game of the year and stuff, like I said before, the vanilla version was pretty flawless. Even with all the dlc it still worked great. Something happened in that complete edition though and their team had already moved on to the next project. People call it GOTY based on the version that came out that year, not the buggy mess that was the complete edition.

Also, they didn't get a tv show spin off. The games are based on a series of books. The author got a tv show spin off. CDProjektRed has nothing to do with that.

  22. Well, I'm now 70hrs into The Witcher III and I can say that it's starting to grow on me. The story is engaging enough to keep me invested, and the RPG elements are pretty good (loot, alchemy, armour, etc), but there is still a huge mountain of technical issues that always seems to give me a wicked karate chop right in the nerves. This game has made a bazillion gagillion dollars, but 5 years later, it's still a hot mess.

    1. KingGuy420

      KingGuy420

Really? That sucks. I've done like 3 full playthroughs between both versions and can count the bugs I've had on one hand. Are you playing the complete version cause that is undoubtedly the buggier version. I actually had 0 bugs in my 2 vanilla playthroughs. All my bugs came in complete.

It did take a long time for it to grow on me too. The first two thirds of my first playthrough, I hated it. Then it all kinda came together and now it's one of my favorites. Once the story picks up steam it gets pretty great imo.

  23. Well, I'm about 30hrs into The Witcher III and I'm having a hard time seeing as to how this game has so many GOTY awards. Disappointed for sure.

It's not gonna get much better. Everyone that whined about other open world RPGs don't seem to realize this game has all the same "issues".

  24. The Witcher III Complete Edition for $21. Let's friggin' go! Gonna be my first ever Witcher experience. The hype meter is at full blast.

  25. :platinum: #159 & 100% #194 - God of War (2018). Absolutely loved it. Camera's a pinch tight, but that's the only less-than-minor issue with the entire offering.
