Gonna keep this one short. Hat Kid is one of the GOATS, I love her. Play this game if you haven't. I loved everything about it front to back.

The story was a lot shorter than I expected especially with a cast this big but it as fun to go through nonetheless. I guess it's suppose to sell the urgency of the story but regardless there is a lot of good writing and flavor text throughout the entire game which I really enjoyed. The music is a major high point Hyperduck Soundworks did a really good job on some of these tracks. There were some technical hiccups here and there but nothing that made me wanna stop playing, I just felt like I should point that out. Overall the game was a good time and I would recommend it to anyone who likes turn based RPGs, especially ones that add some flair to it like this one does with the style and hyper systems.

I know a lot of people hate arena fighting games. Aside from the tedium I had to go through in getting this plat I do believe this was a step in the right direction into making a legitimate arena fighter. The characters are fun as hell, the combos are easy but has some bit of depth to them just some of the assists not just for support characters but battle characters as well seem a lil unbalanced. I do think this was close to making a legit arena fighter that could be popular one that has the budget and attention to character balancing the genre as far as I know. With stuff like the arena fighters for for One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Black Clover, etc. I do believe that the storm games did something good for arena fighters but the systems at play only could work in the realm of Naruto and with One Piece after grand battle back in the day the modern arena fighter in this case Burning Blood has felt more like a cash crab to capitalize on the hype of the anime like the games for My Hero Academia, One Punch Man, Black Clover and I believe Demon Slayer as well is getting an arena fighter. Regardless my point stands, I haven't played those arena fighters but with public perception and/or with how fast they are forgotten about once they drop there has to be a patterns. I could be wrong if anyone has played those games let me know how they are. I only own Burning Blood out of this list so if I also didn't give that enough of a shot let me know and I'll try playing it again. Overall the game isn't difficult just prepare for a tedious grind especially to get the 2 golds before the Plat but if you do love the combat like I did with enough patience you can get through it all. I think a great arena could be made that is popular, there just hasn't been enough of an effort to pull it off in my opinion I'm open to being wrong though. Also I just started trophy hunting so don't judge me for only having 5 plats at the moment XD.

  8. Atelier Series - JRPGs centered around mostly female alchemists as they use their talents to help solve their problems or just make ends meat. more for the anime fans Battle Chasers: Nightwar - Akin to more old school RPGs with an overworld and instanced dungeons. Blue Reflection - An easy plat as well as a somewhat decent story despite not having the biggest budget, but mainly for the hardcore anime fans as it involves magical girls at an all girls school. Cosmic Star Heroine - A shorter RPG influenced by stuff like Chrono Trigger, Phantasy Star, & Suikoden Final Fantasy Type-0 HD - My personal favorite Final Fantasy, it has action combat with unique characters and weapon styles. it also isn't one to pull punches with it's story. it's also an easy plat if you pay attention to the trophies beforehand. don't be like me and have to get them on your Agito [Hard] mode playthrough. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ - An action combat JRPG from Falcom the creators behind the Ys and Trails of series. the game plays like Ys but outside of combat plays like the modern Trials of Series as well as dash of Persona if you wanna more common comparison. i recommend a guide though as Falcom the developer is known for jam packing their games with stuff you could skim past without noticing which could mess up your trophy collecting, hidden quests, information on characters for their bio pages so you can't fill them out stuff like that Trails of Series - Long but satisfying JRPGs with great characters, music and just overall a high quality experience. I recommend a guide more on this series even more than Tokyo Xanadu eX+ since this series is more of their bread and butter and get more love put into them.
