Well... Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was a quick one, so I upgrade my Fallout platinum to a Fallout 100%.
Another game down! It's just a platinum so far, and I'm going to take a break from it tomorrow onwards, but: Fallout 4 (P: 12,03%) completed in [5 years, 6 months] First of all, can I say how disappointed and triggered I am that the trophy is called Platinum trophy? War Never Changes! It will forever be called War Never Changes in my heart! My first and probably last Fallout game. It's not bad, but to be completly honest. It isn't good either. I like watching Fallout New Vegas / 4 Lets Plays while playing though. I had 8 crashes in 3 days cleaning up the platinum things, that's more crashes than I had for all my other games this year combined. The endings aren't really different, so I'm glad I've kept my Institute ending as the one I continued into the DLCs with. It's by far the best ending. The BoS ending should be called the BS ending, it's boring, stupid and a total waste of time. But to end on a positive note: The opening cutscene and the ending cutscene are really good. I like the narration a lot!
Hehe - it's a thing that keeps me sane during boring grinds. I really enjoy getting collectibles, but grinding exp or things like that ... disgusting. Whenever I'm grinding I start and create my personal trophy guides. Did one for the Witcher for example when I did my second stack of the game. Can't remember what I was grinding then. For games that include crafting I like to have a raw list of materials for the things that I need. Helps a lot while selling all the other stuff. The amount of times I had to buy something back for much more than I got from selling For Witcher I've also included the cut off points for nearly every quest according to the wiki, every level makes Death March so much easier. And whenever I've got one ready for a game I've liked the first stack a lot, it's getting the next free milestone spot.
It's actually the first year I've set myself some goals for trophy hunting. One of those goals is to get my amount of unearned trophies down to 3250, but seeing that I've started the year with ~3800 and where I'm at now ... I should rather try to stay closer to 3800, or at least don't end the year with a 4xxx. My aim for this challenge is two games a month, if there's nothing new that I'd rather play. Last month it were WRC9 and Wreckfest that took most of my time. While there's a bunch of cool stuff on my 30 games long to-do list, I've played a lot of racing games last month. I always start a month with a game for this challenge though. Making sure to keep the streak alive. This months second game depends highly on the new Ratchet game. With most of the other games I was hyped for this year delayed, I really need this platinum! Next months game is F1 2020, that's already set in stone. F1 2021 is released mid july, want to get rid of the old game before that. I try to keep a few backlog games installed and up to date, just in case I want to play something different for a while ... or have to because I get annoyed by a game, but I keep switching to a minimum if I can manage it. We all know the pain switching from different controller layouts, don't we? The only trophies/games that are more or less fixed are x00 and x50 milestones. Platinum #600 is going to be my third Witcher 3 stack (love that game) and #650 is currently planned to be the PS5 Control stack (that can change though, it's still 70 other games until I get there.)
Ladies, gentlemen and everyone else, remember when I told you about my setbacks earlier? Well see what I've got as medicine now! I'm so fucking happy right now. I can't even put it in words. Blasting Livin' on a prayer through my flat, because with Demon's Souls 100% I'm also halfway there with the yearly challenge. I'll write something about my experience with the game when I calmed down a bit. My hands are still shaking a bit from a 20 minutes Maneater fight. Thank god that the Old Monk and Maiden Astrea are easy bosses. Okay it's better now: Ive never played the game on PS3 and got it as first game for my PS5. Overall it took me around 25h to start a new character and get everything the platinum needs. Plus another 20h for my first playthrough at release. Not the longest game and pretty pricy since it's 80 bucks. But totally worth it. The Souls games hit different, don't they? The boss design, the levels, the music... to quote the very best leading game director ever 🌚 It just works! Upper Latria is by far my least favorite area in the game, even worse than the typical swamp every Souls game has. Gravity won many many times. Best enemies in the game? Fat Official! Rubbing their fat bellies just before they yeet a fireball at you. Amazing! Hardest Boss? It's close, but I would go with the Penetrator honestly. False King Allant takes second place. Got lucky with my Old Monk fights and either no invasion happend or the phantom wasn't the best pvp player. Worst Boss? Dragon God or Storm King! By far! Gimmick boss fights are nice and all, but I personally prefer to learn how to dodge attacks and learn patterns. Favorite Boss? Old Hero. Really enjoyed the fight. Always attacked him, not waited for his blindness to kick in again. Fun and rewarding fight. Demon's Souls (PS5) P: 29,26% [6 months, 1 week]
AC2: Was played on my first PS3 when I was young. That broke down eventually. I've got a new one but I need to play every game from the beginning again because I don't have backups. Wolfenstein: The game was just okay, not really special. It's also heavily censored and cut here in Germany. That's a game from before they've changed the rules about portraiing Nazi Germany. And earlier censoring was pretty hard. In Stick of Truth they've changed "Sieg Heil" to "Hallo Freund" (Hello Friend). It's not as bad in Wolfenstein but still... it's not the same. SteinsGate and Gorogoa: I don't know why, but both games confuse me even with a guide, so everytime I start them I get like 10% progress and stop again because I messed something up. But Demon's Souls should be easily done in a month too. It's not that hard and pretty short.
My guess would be that it's just a simple Screenshot from your normal profile page. Without the Rating and completion % Looks like I'm only going to finish one game this month. Depression setbacks are kicking in hard, no real help either that my usual therapist went on vacation for two weeks and the replacement guy, I don't trust him enough to really wanna talk about myself. Not even a game prepared for next month yet. It's F1 2020 or Demon's Souls though, I'm pretty sure about that. Maybe both. Been mostly playing newer games, not wanting to go back to the past really.
Five down, seven to go. Like last month I've completed my game for the month on the first day. Burnout Paradise Remastered [3 years] AR: 5.64% I'll fill out the form as soon as there's one for May Before I write a short summary about the game can I just take a moment to say how AMAZING the soundtrack is? Every time you launch the game you get Paradise City as menu song. You get Killswitch Engage, Route 66 by Depeche Mode. Only thing I've disabled are the classical songs. Oh and of course: HEY! HEY! YOU! YOU! I don't like your girlfriend! NO WAY! NO WAY! I think you need a new one! But now about the game: There's two trophies that need at least 8 players. Both of them aren't hard, just annoying. The other multiplayer trophies can easily be done while waiting for all 8 people, or just with one friend. Sadly the races aren't hard at all. The other cars scale to your car, at least I think so, everytime I got back to a slower car the NPCs went back too. But if you can point a car remotely in the right direction there shouldn't be a problem completing all the races. You only need to complete 50% of the game for the platinum. Otherwise the rarity would be much lower I guess. As I said, it's not hard, but gets repetitive really fast. There's only 5 types of events. Normal races, Stunt runs Road Rage Marked Man Time Trials. There is one challenge in all of them. Finding the way. There's no GPS in events and freeplay. You can't mark a destination either. The only way to tell where to go in events is to check your cars indicators when reaching a crossroad. According to my PS5 it took 35h to get the platinum. Plat difficulty: 3 / 10 Enjoyment: 7 / 10 Soundtrack 11 / 10
IMO, LEGO games are exactly like the LEGO sets to build. They're getting worse every year with one hidden gem sometimes. All of the LEGO [Insert Hero Franchise] games are dull, repetitive and grindy. Star Wars The Complete Saga is still the best game I've played. No voiced characters, no open world grind collectibles.
Since gaming sessions for this game either get ignored or abandoned I'll try it here If anyone is interested in doing all the multiplayer bs in Dead Rising 4, send me a friend request.
I've replayed Spider-Man: Miles Morales yesterday and that ending made me emotional again.
It's a short game, maybe a little bit too short, and the second half is more or less the same mission with different voice lines.
But just thinking about what could have been if you listen to each other...
It's in my top 5 for sad endings.
You can't run forever, Sekiro is coming!
I'll help you keeping everything up to date. Gives me a reason to stalk all of your profiles 🕵️
I've been thinking about posting this or not, had it written down a few times already and deleted it again, but not this time. I've been scared of hate I might get, but why should I be?
It's going to be about Ratalaika and easy platinums, so before you continue reading:
If you're already sick and tired of this topic, don't read it. It's just my thoughts.
I genuinely like the games Ratalaika is porting, my most common platinum is Loot Hero DX, one of the most fun indie games I've ever played. I got a lot of Vita stacks and some region stacks. Pretty much everything the rarity hunters don't like
I will do PS4 & PS5 stacks again, now that the games are back to being crossbuy. I've paid for that feature, I'm going to use it.
I'm also disabled, ever was, ever will be. I'd rather have a second left half of my body than the right half I currently have, it's not completly useless, but you shouldn't expect anything.
Most of the times important inputs are done right handed. So even easy games aren't as trivial as you think they might be. At least when I'm playing.
I'm not using any special controllers, I don't even know if there are some, because it's training my weaker hand, and it already improved my abilities a lot.
Being rewarded in a genre (platformers) I struggle a lot with, is motivating and helps me to branch out and leave my comfort zones of racing, puzzles, point and click and RTS.
Only ~20% of my games are below 50% platinum rarity on PSNP, because the games I enjoy the most tend to have solutions all over the internet.
Maybe it's a joke I don't get, but why would that mean I'm a worse gamer?
I've still reached Diamond 3 a few times when I was still playing Rocket League
I've reached Gold 3 / A in F1 2019
I fully agree that there's some garbage I bought and platinumed, but I'm still proud for what I've completed and achieved. Rare platinum or not.
Gaming is the most physical thing I can do while actually feeling like achieving something.
Like pretty much every german boy I was in a football/soccer club as a kid, but I never played in any matches for long.
I wasn't graded in PE back in school, because as the only disabled kid in class, there was no reference to grade me on... so they simply didn't do it.
(It's probably not true anymore, I'm pretty good in Darts and Pool now too, but I'll always have the most confidence in my gaming skills.)
Being healthy enough to be independent and grow up like any other boy from my area also makes me wanna do as much things as possible as "normal" people do them. Being independent is the thing I'm most proud of. I've met a bunch of people who have it worse, they're still the most friendliest people I'll ever meet though.
Thank you for reading this far
Dude, even us able bodied peeps play some games for the easy trophies from time-to-time. Your trophy list, gaming preferences, limitations, etc, are your own, and you don't have to justify them to anyone, especially us random people on the internet.
That being said, this is one of the better communities online and I'd be surprised if you got any hate at all for this post!
Game on bro. 🎮👍
Buddy, there's no reason you'd get hate for this (ok, I'm not naive, there is a reason: some people are assholes. ButyouknowhwatImean). As @StrickenBiged said, your trophy list and your reasons for choosing some games over others are yours and yours only. If personal circumstances make you choose some games over others, who is anyone to complain?
Have fun and game on!
@Gretchen27 if you need help with keeping everything up to date let me know I can lend a hand or two.
After getting the platinum last year, I now add the 100% for Borderlands GOTY. 7 months after the plat and 1 year 11months total. Thanks to the glitched shield @Fnee2000 dropped I just tanked everythink while setting them on fire with my Hellfire. The Completionist trophy in the DLC popped early, instantly with the second to last trophy. I don't know if that's a general bug or what happened there, but I'll take it. It's already going to be my last "planned" unlock for this month, not because I'm out of motivation or anything, but I'm actually running out of games that are sitting long enough on my list and I'm also interested in playing in. I've unlocked a trophy in GreedFall so I can 100% during the winter months And since it worked for Bloodborne so well: I'm currently playing Burnout Paradise Remastered and still need to unlock the Online stuff for the Police and Robbers DLC. If anyone around here is interested in getting the online trophies out of the way, let me know please.https://media.giphy.com/media/xThuWcZzGnonnG3ayQ/giphy.gif
Already completed my game for April, and to the surprise of absolutely noone who read the last few pages ... it's Bloodborne. Completed the game in 5 years and 2 months. I don't really know why I stopped 5 years ago, but I'm pretty sure it was the Forbidden Woods level. Not the biggest snake fan in the world, the area is full of them... then there's a nice gank boss at the end of the level. But I've made it through the game and the DLCs. The deeper chalice dungeons caused some grey hairs to grow, especially the one where you limited to half of your maximum health. The platinum also lined up nearly perfectly with the 17.000 trophies milestone. Just a little bit of planning was needed to pop the plat in time. I've reset my save to before the final boss and kept all of the chalice dungeons needed for the trophy to help all my fellow hunters, just in case someone needs a hand.
New CIV trophies got released with the DLC yesterday. Rangs me up from #7 to 100% the EU version of the game, to being first achiever. Gotta admit, feels good seeing a PSN rarity of 0.0% rise up to 0.1% when you unlock a trophy.
I think I've added all of the new formed hunter (pun intended) group. Creating a group chat on PSN if that's cool with everyone Also just started new and killed the Cleric Beast by staying very close to it's butt...
You've done them all in NG? Because if so, I'd just heal my dark sigils and "speedrun" through NG+ and try the normal ending again. Dark Souls 3 is pretty much the same in NG+ and not difficult at all. Don't know why you're trophy listed glitched out if you have the screenshots, but I had that happen to me once too. Replaying helped. But I understand if that's not an option for you, I just don't know any other way to help Good luck with your plat.
Can you even get the normal and the Yuria ending in one playtrough? It's been a while but I thought the whole Londor and Hollowing quest with Yuria cancels out the normal ending? You have to link the fire in both of them don't you? Correct me if I'm wrong please But if you have the screenshots of three of the endings. 🤔
Adding another 100% to my list: Sid Meiers Civilization VI in 1 year and 4 months. (Mostly because they're still releasing DLC for it. The final one of the season pass tomorrow.) Currently sitting at 0.10% rarity, myself being the 7th achiever of the 100%. The achievements for the new DLC are already released on steam, but so far no new trophies for PlayStation. For anyone having this on their list and struggle with some trophies. Use the Hotseat multiplayer mode Create a two player game and simply play both nations. EDIT: @Gretchen27 you've got my games mixed up for the monthly streak. Eekeemoo was in February, not January. Just a heads up though, no need to change it, as long as a game is counted for january
First update on my gold progress.
I've reached the black tracks ... started strong doing 7 in half a day... got another one the next morning in about 30min. The multilap was surprisingly fun comared to the others.
AND THEN #169 and #170 happened ... I'm 11 seconds off from silver in #169 and don't even have a bronze on #170 yet.
I know my mistakes on the first track, my jumps are more RNG and I don't really know how to aim them.
Same with the loops, I'm either too slow and fall off or too fast and hit the edges, and fall off.
Track #170?! Just looks painful.
Doesn't really help that the reward for getting the next medals is that I can drive 10 more black tracks with my most hated car.
Stadium -> Rollercoaster -> Canyon Drift -> that buggy car in order from most to least liked.
I've took a break after a few hours trying and started Civ 6 again as a cool down game. The so far final expansion is going to be released on Friday. Time to work on the 100% again for that game again.
Going back to Trackmania Turbo after 4 years.
IF I can get all the golds, it'll be by far my rarest platinum.
Stopped playing at 100 gold and 9 trackmaster medals yesterday.
Some of the green tracks took quite a few tries and multilaps are going to be the bane of my existence in this game.
I can get one good run every other attempt, but chaining 3 solid laps is, for whatever reason, quite the challenge for me.
I'm expecting the black tracks to be a lot harder than the red ones, although it only took a handful of tries to get a gold on the first red track.
Track #66 though... the one with the palm tree over the road before jumping over a tunnel ... F**k! That! Tree!
Everyone who finished the game, what camera did you use?
I tend to do tracks that are more open and not filled with twists and stunts with the cam behind the car.
And tracks with loops, tunnels, twisty checkpoints I often change to the view in front.
I avoid switching during runs, because that throws me off a lot.
I know it's personal prefererance in the end, but I'd like to have some opinions
And another question:
Should I keep going after I get a gold until I've unlocked the 50 Trackmaster trophies, or should I leave them until last.
Checked the list of @SlimSanta94 (only one on my friendlist who has all tracks completed, at least if the in game record and ghosts are correct.) He has them way before the golds, but I also got a trackmaster by accident when having a lucky run.
Could mean less grinding time in the end. I don't know...

What I did is once I reached the Black Series, I got gold on all Black Tracks from the environment I was playing and then, while I was again used to that car, went back and got Trackmasters in the White / Green tracks of that same environment.
So once I had all Gold Medals in Black Canyon, I went back to White / Green Canyon to get Trackmasters.
Also, luckily there is only one multi-lap per Black environment, and they are, for some reason, not all that difficult (at least in comparison to some of the regular Black tracks...) Good luck!
Also... regular camera all the say. I never switched the camera manually, only when the game forced me into the cockpit-view.
I do have a vague idea what I want my milestones to be. Quite often they tend to be stacks of games I already got for another system / region and enjoyed a lot. Currently it's Nexomon Extinction - NA for #550 and Witcher 3 Complete Edition for #600 that's planned. But both are a long way off, so my mind can easily change before needing to prepare for milestones.
