I just hope they don't trip over their own legs with repetetive locations and side quests.

The game is released alongside two other open world games, it could go horribly wrong for them.

Of course the same can be said about Horizon and Elden Ring, but out of these three games, Dying Light 2 has the biggest potential to flop imo.

  2. [PS5 Question] If I were to play a PS4 game on my newly-delivered, non-stolen replacement PS5, would it track the trophy progress for this game or does that only work on the new PS5 games?

    1. JayDeLosDioses

      JayDeLosDioses

I haven't found a PS4 game so far where you can see trophy progress.

Can't even see it on all PS5 games, Serious Sam 4 has no trophy tracking for example :)

  3. 7600 trophies. :D Here’s to 400 more to make 8000!

Also on a side note for people that will be going for Marvels: Spider Man 100% you can do the 100x Combo in the first room in Fisk Tower, all you have to do is keep dodging when your spider sense comes up and it’ll count as a combo if you did this in Spider Man Miles Morales it’s the same thing. Easiest way to get a 100 combo!
I can upload a video on how I did it if people are confused.

iirc, you can set the difficulty in Miles Morales to easy and the counter does not reset when you get hit.

  4. My biggest gripe with Fallout 4 is the fact that I'm running out of ammo so much!

I thought about going with a more melee build for my lone wanderer but a number of enemies are a pain in the butt to defeat with melee weapons.

Vault 88 has some good stuff, tons of materials for settlement building and it had a decent amount of Fusion Cores which I'm always running out of. Found a Mirelurk Queen but I don't have enough sufficient ammo to take her down. Getting the necessary ammo for the Fat Man and Missile Launcher costs too many bottle caps.

Been fighting off a lot of Ghouls and Mirelurks, neither of which are a good source of ammo. Raiders and Gunners are generally good. Gunners are basically a whole step up from Raiders, likely the most difficult group of 'humans' apart from the Brotherhood of Steel.

I don't want anybody to spoil the storyline for me in either the main game or the DLC. I'm hoping the Automatron DLC and Far Harbor DLC will get me a decent amount of ammo and gear. I'm tired of running out of bullets constantly.

    1. JayDeLosDioses

      JayDeLosDioses

Another added bonus from this perk: Fusion Cores count as ammo in the game.

  9. [Need for Speed]

I don't know if that's known yet or not, but I haven't found anything on Google.

There's a bug that let's you boost unlimited in the Need for Speed 2016 game that can make the prestige mode much easier.

As you can see, I can boost the whole straight, gaining around 12kph for the whole time.

I think it has something to do with playing on PS5. There's a message at the start of the game that you might run into some issues.

Sadly I don't know how to reproduce this, all I can say that it happend yesterday and today.

After a few tries your time will bug out, first showing some absurdly high number and then simply showing nothing.

As soon as the timer is gone, I can boost as much as I want.

You can only tell how fast you've been going at the end of each run, but I've gained 12 seconds on this track thanks to the bug.

If I can find a way to make this happen at will and not random I'll let you know and make a post in the game thread.

  10. Like never before, an Assassin's Creed game made me ragequit. Which is a first xD well done Ubisoft, you deserve a medal for this.

So the glorious AC Valhalla introduced some Master Challenges, aka Statues throughout the world with 3 trials each: Bear(combat), Wolf(archery) and Raven(stealth). You get a map, a custom equipment with one ability and some targets. Pretty simple stuff in theory. IN THEORY. You have also special objectives, like the old AC Sync missions. Obviously, for Gold Medal, you need to do the entire map perfectly.

First statue done, I actually enjoyed the challenges. Thought "oh god Ubisoft implemented something challenging and fun". Ah, the fool that I was. Never trust them!

Second statue happens in Odin's Mine, some...cave or whatever. Bear Trial was simple, parry, bash and kill, gorilla mode. Easy Gold Medal.

Next one was Wolf Trial and this is where I lost it: game asks you to shoot every enemy at its weak spot AND kill them via headshot. Nice, archery never worked properly in AC games but whatever. Managed to understand the "hitboxes" of the goddamn weak spots - basically you have to shoot the glowing arm/leg of the archer or swordsman to stun him. Archers always run from you but sure whatever. Managed to get the hang of it.

HERE COMES THE UBISOFT EXQUISITE! Archers love to SUICIDE! They climb a high place, then jump and...just die. Or tend to shoot the NUMEROUS explosive pots around the level and blow themselves up. Or shoot their allies in the back with a fire arrow, set them on fire and kill them. This doesn't give me any point of course, which forces me to restart the fkin trial.

I think I restarted this trial over 30 times, 1/4 of the time because I headshot the idiotic archer instead of hitting its weak point and the rest because they just ... killed themselves. Bet they didn't want to be a part of this game anymore.

So yeah...will wait for a patch or something. I rarely do this but my god this piece of shit is unplayable. All the complaints from Mastery Challenge DLC thread are fully valid. Well done Ubisoft. Could you start fixing your main game before attempting new game modes? Guess not...

Will go back to Strive. At least that game works.

But honestly. This has to be some kind of skill.

Not everyone can make you go from "That was fun" to "Fuck this shit, why am I even playing this?" in 20 seconds :D

After the first statue I was pretty hyped for the Mastery stuff.

Sure the archery challenge was more luck than skill and during stealth I got detected twice from across the map, but overall pretty fun. I liked it.

And then I went to Odin's Mine...

I can't even beat the Bear Trial in there. It's not even hard if you got your timing right. BUT:

There's one guy at the beginning that's just not staying down. No mather what I do. Slammed him in the wall 4 times, stun attacked twice. He gets back up like nothing happend, even Brock Lesnar sells more than this dude. Man got something that's worth living for I tell you.

Restarting the challenge - no change.

      Restarting the game - nope

Restarting the console - still unkillable.

So I've quit. I'll try again when another set of trophies is released again.

I'm not in the mood to deal with this shit atm.

  12. Platinum 124: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart

overall, i really enjoyed the game. Dare I say it was... Rivet-ing :awesome:

but all seriousness, the addition of Rivet was very welcome. The more i reflect back on my time with the game, the story right from the start is more about Rivet than anything. Which is fine by me. Funny moment in the beginning when Ratchet wonders why they (He and Clank) are being celebrated when they havent saved anything in years, was quite funny.

The game was the usual length of an R&C game. Could have been more creative with trophies or arenas though. Challenge mode trophy... but, it is what it is. One of my fave 3 of the series.

Id go Up Your Arsenal, Reboot, Rift Apart. MAYBE Going Commando, but id really need to take a look again.

Overall it was a fun experience. I really hope they get around to making a bigger game next time with more gold bolts like the original trilogy. 25 is just too short. Most were in plain sight too. Other than upgrade all weapons, i got 100% on my save file.

All this being said, I'm optimistic for the future of R&C. It has also shown that Insomniac could do a SpiderMan 2 game that would have both Peter and Miles playable and that potential also excites me.

    Overall: 9.5 out of 10.

Worth the price? for me, yes. But money has never been an issue. If you do 100%, id say you get your money's worth. Unlike Quest for Booty, Tools of Destruction, or Into the Nexus that are all far shorter.

Have you played in Performance or Resolution mode?

Haven't noticed anything with resolution mode.

But take that with a pinch of salt, I've been playing Fallout 4 before Rift Apart, so my direct comparison is a six year old PS4 game :D

      I fully agree with the 9.5 / 10.

Had a small bug with the vendor on Ardolis, but that can happen if you buy games day one.

Other than that, no crashes, (graphical) glitches or anything.

I'm excited to see where Rivets story is heading in the future

Another arena would have been cool. iirc the reboot game had two planets with hoverboard tracks, while Rift Apart only has one arena.

It's my choice, like it's your choice whether or not to get it. I just hate how damn political the whole thing has become.

It's honestly weird reading how pretty much everyone get a vaccine, even the US, who basicly started a year after everyone else taking this whole pandemic a bit more seriously.

We're about too reach Lockdown #4 tho... gotta be a record.

  16. Going back to Trackmania Turbo after 4 years.

IF I can get all the golds, it'll be by far my rarest platinum.

Stopped playing at 100 gold and 9 trackmaster medals yesterday.

Some of the green tracks took quite a few tries and multilaps are going to be the bane of my existence in this game.

I can get one good run every other attempt, but chaining 3 solid laps is, for whatever reason, quite the challenge for me.

I'm expecting the black tracks to be a lot harder than the red ones, although it only took a handful of tries to get a gold on the first red track.

Track #66 though... the one with the palm tree over the road before jumping over a tunnel ... F**k! That! Tree!

Everyone who finished the game, what camera did you use?

I tend to do tracks that are more open and not filled with twists and stunts with the cam behind the car.

And tracks with loops, tunnels, twisty checkpoints I often change to the view in front.

I avoid switching during runs, because that throws me off a lot.

I know it's personal prefererance in the end, but I'd like to have some opinions :)

    And another question:

Should I keep going after I get a gold until I've unlocked the 50 Trackmaster trophies, or should I leave them until last.

Checked the list of @SlimSanta94 (only one on my friendlist who has all tracks completed, at least if the in game record and ghosts are correct.) He has them way before the golds, but I also got a trackmaster by accident when having a lucky run.

Could mean less grinding time in the end. I don't know...

    1. JayDeLosDioses

      JayDeLosDioses

I'll use your ghosts then for the white tracks as benchmark

Don't remove me from your friendlist! :D

  17. Lately I have been slammed with work so haven’t had much time to play.

Unfortunately, despite having two successful attempts at boosting two different games in the past month and a half (Red Dead Redemption, Assassin’s Creed Revslations), I haven’t gotten the same success with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood.

With the effort it took to get people from as far as Australia and Eastern Europe respectively to get into a goddamn group together, I had to stay up at hours where I’m normally asleep. Unfortunately AC Brotherhood has a trophy list that was commonplace when every other single player game had a tacked on multiplayer. Not just a simple ‘play X amount of hours’ sort of thing, but a list that demands good coordination and communication.

Knowing the steps it took to get no less than nine fucking people together to obtain the generally elusive Kingpin trophy in Red Dead Redemption, it’s not exactly easy.

I have to get around six people to boost effectively in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood because of Alliance. And unfortunately I’ve had to work a lot more now than I did over a month ago. Getting Brotherhood done in a couple weeks time from now would be a complete miracle.

The era of multiplayer heavy trophies in otherwise single player games like Far Cry 2, Crysis 2, Resistance 2 (which had server shutdown back in 2014) and so forth are long behind this.

I met some great people on Red Dead Redemption and a couple friendly faces on AC Revelations. But for the time being, my luck seems to have worn out.

    1. JayDeLosDioses

      JayDeLosDioses

Let me know if you still need people for Brotherhood.

      Considering starting the game myself.

  18. Is there a way to turn off the monster animations in YuGiOh Legacy of the Duelist?

It was cool the first 10 times, but seeing Exodia obliberate for the 1000000th times is just a waste of time.

And I'm simply not smart enough to get behind all that Link, Pendulum, XYZ summoning stuff.

When I played the card game daily it was special to SPECIAL summon a monster, not special to NORMAL summon a monster.

Throwing away your boss monster and special summon it from the graveyard was the combo then.

Feels like you can just summon your whole extra deck in todays YuGiOh.

    1. JayDeLosDioses

      JayDeLosDioses

There's so many fusion cards in the game now aswell :D

Every archtype has their own, then there's super poly to just get rid of any monster you like as long as you can fusion summon one from your extra deck.

The Synchro stuff was alright acutally. The boss monsters from the synchro decks aren't too bad, they don't protect themselves from being destroyed all the time.

Knowing a few of them from the anime might have helped too, the first season of 5D's was the last one I've watched episodes from.

My enjoyment of the campaign went close to zero as soon as duels started to take 7 turns max.

Pendulum summon your entire hand with a bunch of 2000+ atk monsters? Yes, please go ahead.

Link summon monsters that buff each other over 5000+ atk? Suuuuure

I've started "cheesing" the VRAINS story halfway through with Exodia.

It's boring as fuck since there's no interaction with the other players deck, but then again, summoning your whole deck in a turn isn't fun for me either.

Easy first turn win as long as you get a Royal Magical Library early enough in the first draw combo.

I've tried another deck with "Gren Maju Da Eiza" as boss monster.

He gains 400 ATK and DEF for every of your banished cards, but that's not fast enough for todays game.

And that card is easily blocked... card protection is key.

  19. [Real Life and Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy] Well, I'm up, but I'm in pain, so I'm only going to play for a little while tonight. I also think I'm finally going to give up on the idea of having my trophy log be neat and organized and reflective of playing one game at a time until I get the platinum before moving to the next one. My OCD wanted a perfect trophy list, but whatever. Life's not perfect and if my list was super neat like that, I wouldn't be able to participate in the fun backlog events that this site has to offer. Therefore, I have changed my mind about loading my Spyro games onto my main account at this time and have decided to go for it. In other news, my friend that I've been asking everyone to pray for seems to be doing fine, so I'd like to thank everyone for their prayers, well wishes, and kind thoughts. I will hopefully be talking to him again soon, but in the meantime, I think I shall get to scorching some gnorc butt. 😁

Syndicate was the last game with optional objectives, wasn't it?

I don't miss them at all.

Imagine Valhalla with objectives like "Stay out of combat" - thinking about it already hurts.

If I think about all the full sync challenges there's always one part that comes to mind - all of Leonardos machines in Brotherhood.

Ezio is controlling these things for the first time ever and the game indicates with objectives like "Take no damage" that he's already mastered them all.

This was a long time coming for me. Could of easily picked this up when it was re-released on the PS4, but I never really got around to it for the better part of five years. Since I finally did, I'm grateful that I have the entire PS2 era GTA collection complete and done on my trophy profile.

There is a lot of nostalgia in this game. Very fond memories of playing this game in early 2005 when I felt the world was well, a little less chaotic. George W Bush was contributing to the decline of the United States, but it was still a time when Facebook was just a twinkle in Mark Zuckerberg's visions and the Twitter mob didn't exist. Apart from the fact that 2004 - 2005 was when I really started to get into social media, I played GTA San Andreas quite frequently between juggling high school and getting early college credit, as I was enrolled in a program that helped students earned credit.

In my opinion, this is the best GTA Rockstar developed and it remains my favorite GTA to this day. In truth, I am a sucker for 1990s era music, culture, television, movies and so forth. I still think the 90s were better, both culturally and financially, although many will tell me that I'm being rather nostalgic. Regardless, Rockstar fucking nailed the time period. The characters in San Andreas are very reminiscent of early 1990s movies based in the ghetto, such as Juice and Menace II Society. A movie could of very well been made during that era with the exact same story that San Andreas has. To put this short, I felt the story in San Andreas was decent, while providing good humor throughout the adventure.

Voice acting is very solid. You will notice the voice acting is significantly better than it was in GTA III. The people in III sounded rather dull, and overall the production quality was a bit low budget. But starting in Vice City, Rockstar really went out of their way to hire famous actors Ray Liotta and Burt Reynolds to play a part in their game, and here in San Andreas, Samuel L Jackson truly shines playing the corrupt cop Tenpenny. Rockstar really tried to make the acting sound a little authentic to the time period.

I can't say San Andreas is perfect or is excellent in all fields. The gameplay in comparison to modern games is rather dated. Vehicles still flip over a little too easily, shooting is done with the circle button instead of the R1/R2 buttons, and getting around the San Andreas map can be a bit tedious. The story is far longer than it was in either GTA III or Vice City, and at a certain point when Carl Johnson, the protagonist, has to go around in the country and desert to do a few odd jobs, I felt Rockstar was just padding the game to sort of drag things along. However this was back in 2004 and the map for this game was considered big. Nowadays it's rather small, but that was a big selling point for San Andreas as previous games were mostly confined to just one city, instead of three cities and the surrounding countryside.

There are no checkpoints in any of the missions, and there is no autosaving. This is mostly due to the age of the game as PS2 games didn't really have autosaving, you had to save at specific locations. Mostly not a problem for me but there were some missions that required multiple attempts, including one particular mission where I had to steal a fighter jet from a carrier. This is definitely something that will turn off a lot of modern gamers, as the lack of autosaves and lack of any checkpoints makes things more tedious and difficult. Again, not so much a problem for me considering I played this extensively as a teenager, but for younger and newer gamers San Andreas may be difficult to get into because of limitations.

San Andreas in my opinion was the peak for Rockstar. There was no bullshit regarding microtransactions/lootboxes, as Rockstar had a lot of talent that was put to good use. Grand Theft Auto V, while it's a lot more accessible and convenient for the modern gamer, is not a game I like all that much for multiple reasons that I won't delve into here. Rockstar today is really no different than Ubisoft, EA, Activision or 2K Games. Which is a shame, because like Square Enix back in the day, Rockstar kept releasing awesome games, and while not all have aged all too well, they are still worth playing for the experience.

The soundtrack is music gold. I absolutely love the music in San Andreas. 90s era music was so much better than the drivel and utter trash that is being released today. Not just the music, the radio stations all had good hosts each with their own style. If radio sounded as good as it does in Vice City and San Andreas, I might still be subscribed to internet radio.

In short, I had a lot of fun in San Andreas, despite some gameplay mechanics that haven't aged well. The BMX challenge, and the trophies for killing 4,000 people and doing all three car lists at the San Fierro docks took up the bulk of my time. I went at a more leisurely pace with this game in contrast to Vice City where I mostly beelined to the platinum. It was good to get back to a game I haven't played in so long, to play something when Rockstar was at the top of their game. On a sad note, this could be the last GTA I ever finished, as both IV and V contain elements I'm not particularly fond of.

I spent the time and money on the PS2 era GTAs, and I'm grateful for having finished them.

      Congrats.

I still need to finish this, but the aged controls turn me off everytime :/

At least I've already followed the damn train.
