  1. Update #3: 1. Up (PS3) - (20th September) 2. CSI: Fatal Conspiracy (PS3) - 0% (1st October) 3. Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) - 34% 46% 4. Persona 5 (PS4) - 29% 33% 5. Borderlands 3 (PS4) - 23% {NEW} Saw (PS3) - 17% 6. Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition (PS4) - 0% 7. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS4) - 0% {NEW} Man of Medan (PS4) - 0% Gaming life is pretty good at the moment. I've got a nice variety going on, mostly away from my list though, which shows in the progress! I recently picked up Ni No Kuni again after 4 years and I'm really pleased I have. It looks wonderful and that's on the PS3!! It's really nice to play on a lazy afternoon off work. Not on the list though because I'm not doing the ridiculous 100% grind! I think it'll effect my enjoyment if I went for that. I'm a big golf fan and I finally managed to pick up Rory McIlroy PGA Tour for a semi-reasonable price. There's a Battlefield themed par 3 course where you play over burning aircraft carriers which is pretty cool. I couldn't add that to the list because the online tournaments have stopped I believe. Last on the non-list is NFS: Payback which I'm having fun with. Not really one I can play for hours on end though, without wanting to do something else. My boss leant me Death Stranding yesterday telling me that I'd love it because it's a walking sim. He knows me too well haha! There was one of those moments yesterday where we're both standing behind the bar in full view of customers and he's pretending to carry loads of stuff walking across pretend streams, and I'm shouting at him to not drop the baby 😂 Anyway, I'll be starting that very soon. I won't be putting that on the list though because it's silly to add it if I'm making bugger all progress with my 3 big games (#3,4,5). Onto da list... I quite enjoyed CSI: Fatal Conspiracy. It's like a primitive Sherlock Holmes game what with finding clues, using analysis tools and interviewing suspects. With 5 cases at 2 hours each, it's pretty short, and the graphics leave a lot to be desired, but it was pleasant to work through if you like those type of games. Kept the trophy counter ticking over nicely. That brings me to Saw, another cheap ebay purchase. I want to play a few horror games around Halloween and this one ticks the box for a hassle free plat. I've played a bit and it's going to be hilarious. Do you want to play a game? Yes. I've stumbled a bit with Rise of the Tomb Raider. My collectable clean up has come to a halt because I can't remember how to get out of the temple with a puzzle in the middle of it and I just generally felt aggrieved that there was no fast travel out of there haha. I also had a crack at the Lara's Nightmare DLC and died right at the end so I haven't been keen to revisit that for a while. Coupled with the time attacks that I'm slowly getting through, it's not getting done soon. I've played a lot more Persona 5 in the last couple of weeks. I am a big fan and I don't want it to end to be honest. I'll be playing a lot more of it though because I'll need a new playthrough to max the confidant links. Another one that won't be finished this year. And that's that, a right cocktail of games. Only made one cocktail today at work (Sunday lunch shift), a Flossy Bop. Rhubarb vodka, Cointreau, vanilla syrup, lime juice and cranberry juice, with some candy floss served in a little pot on the side. Insta that one love, jeez. Loving all the updates. Keep safe, keep loving it!
  2. Update #2: 1. Up (PS3) - 76% (20th September) 2. Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) - 17% 34% 3. Persona 5 (PS4) - 26% 29% 4. Borderlands 3 (PS4) - 23% {NEW} CSI: Fatal Conspiracy (PS3) - 0% 6. Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition (PS4) - 0% 7. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS4) - 0% I'm pleased I've got Up out of the way. The game reminded me of an ex-girlfriend. Short, plump, annoying thing, always carried a backpack, heart of gold (most of that I've made up for comic effect, maybe). I made the mistake of not looking at the trophy guide closely enough and didn't realise there were a whole extra set of collectables (bugs etc). This meant I had to grumble whilst repeating a few levels. I can probably give a fairer reflection on the game now that I've finished it and it's not annoying me. It actually plays OK, everything works ish. It seems fairly faithful to the film from what I remember, and the trophy list isn't bad at all, especially if you're aware from the start. Short levels to. I finished the main story for Rise of the Tomb Raider on Survivor difficulty! I knock my gaming ability fairly often, so I'm quite pleased with that. It's generous for ammo and health and as long as you kind of strategize your main fights, it isn't that stressful at all. I also finished the 1st part of the Croft Manor DLC - a really enjoyable change of pace without combat. There's a few puzzles/riddles to solve as you're progressing through the manor and there's some nice tributes to the older games within the collectables you find. I smiled when I turned on a gramophone and some very familiar classical music came on. I've still got the clean up to do which will be made easy with fast travel, alongside all the other DLCs. I did start to get a bit bored of it (it's definitely not bad, there's just so much to do) so I'll be dipping in and out of it from now. I'm pleased to pick up Persona 5 again. It had been a few months but I fell straight back in with the story. Without spoilers, I've just got to the part where I can start working on the Passionate Listener trophy. I'm quite out of sync with the confidant guide I'm using so that doesn't bode well for the future, but there's no point worrying about it. There's a save I can go back to but that will result in me redoing a dungeon or two, so I'll press on and hope for "free time" to catch up. Added CSI for the PS3, cheap eBay purchase for my PS3 collection which has grown from 50 to 72 in about a month, oops. Great work so far! Keep it enjoyable and keep safe all!
  3. Update #1: 1. Up (PS3) - 22% ➡️ 76% 2. Persona 5 (PS4) - 26% 3. Borderlands 3 (PS4) - 23% {NEW} Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4) - 17% 5. Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition (PS4) - 0% 6. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS4) - 0% Best join in with my 1st update! I haven't been gaming much recently, and what I was playing wasn't on my list so I thought I'd add it. Rise of the Tomb Raider wouldn't usually be a 100% contender for me because the 7.34% rarity worries me, but I was convinced by a friend that survivor difficulty is doable. For someone who doesn't do hard modes, I'm finding it alright so far and I'm a decent way through. Invaluable tips from my mate have helped like,"you'll get stuck and you'll get pissed off, but then you'll remember the poison arrows and everything will be fine." Still, the fact that I'm relatively bossing survivor mode is both surprising and exciting. In terms of quality, I enjoyed the 1st Tomb Raider reboot, but this one is only equally enjoyable. It hasn't really gone further. Saying that, the Baba Yaga DLC was fairly good and I'm looking forward to the Croft Manor stuff. I'm still sitting on the fence even though I've played quite a bit. I really don't know what to say about Up. About 4 years ago, me and the same mate (I promise I have more than one) had a trophy hunting session in his living room. I was mainly helping him (fairly funny memories of Terminator Salvation co-op) but when he went on to Megamind, I started Up. Because I wasn't a trophy hunter then per se, I played it, realised it was shite, and then left it. Well, there's no getting away from it now. It's still shite. In fact, this is my 3rd backlog challenge and I can safely say it's the worst game out of all of my lists. I know, i know it's for a child, but I usually like this mindless stuff and it's just so dull. I'm not even done with it yet either, Christ. Other bits...I recently picked up a copy of Deadly Premonition for my growing PS3 collection. I'll be replaying that gem and watching Twin Peaks alongside. Why? Because it's really weird and I fancy it. I enjoy my daily catch up to see how everyone's getting on. @Sword That's not nice to hear mate. I hope you get the time you need to grieve and adjust, and enjoy your time off when it comes. Take care all 👊
  4. 0 - Borderlands 1 - The Walking Dead: Season 2 2 - LEGO Marvel's Avengers 3 - Valiant Hearts: The Great War 4 - Seasons After Fall 5 - Shenmue II 6 - Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge 7 - Stick it to the Man 8 - Fruit Ninja 9 - Call of Cthulhu Phew, got there! Call of Cthulhu was what I'd hoped it would be, story and game play wise. I think I just like hunting for clues and stuff, and I've always liked horror games. The character points aspects could have been built on a bit more, much like The Council, but the game as a whole was really solid. Will be looking for more of those ones! Really enjoyed this event! I got lucky with the numbers because I had a few suitable games that were started years ago, and that's helped me get over the precious 50% overall completion mark for the 1st time! Great work everyone!
  5. Final update: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - (8th July) 7. Kona (PS4) - (27th July) 8. Erica (PS4) - (3rd August) 9. Shenmue II (PS4) - (15th August) 10. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - (16th August) 11. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - (19th August) 12. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 78% (31st August) 13. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 44% Just managed to sneak in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order with an hour to spare! Overall, I have to say it's an impressive game. I had my problems navigating using the holomap which did grind a bit but I particularly enjoyed the platforming and the use of the force to do stuff. I took a moment to take in the scenery when I was clearing up the collectables as well. Lovely. It was also my 75th Platinum. I didn't plan for the milestone, I'm actually working on Call of Cthulhu which I'd have preferred as #75, but I'll take "A New Hope." It's uplifting and it kind of counter balances #50 "I Guess it's Time to Roll the Credits." Who cares? I'm bullshitting. Here's my summary of the event: Most Satisfying - Ratchet & Clank Most Memorable - Kona Honourable mentions - TWD S2, The Town of Light, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Erica It's been great to be part of this again! Lots of good inspiration all over the place. Backlog goes down by 12, and then back up again by 23. See you in the next one! Take care.
  6. Final list set in stone. Keeping it to the minimum despite the longer challenge as I'll be working on some PS3 games at 30%+ in the next few months and I don't want to over commit! Still a happiness/madness medley and still looking forward to it!
  7. Update #8: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - (8th July) 7. Kona (PS4) - (27th July) 8. Erica (PS4) - (3rd August) 9. Shenmue II (PS4) - (15th August) 10. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 95% (16th August) 11. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% (19th August) 12. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 33% 78% 13. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 44% Swaps used: 2/2 My big final push was going nicely until I cut my left hand quite badly doing the bar work the other day. I've wrapped my thumb up well enough to need to google "one handed games PS4". It's my 1st day off for a while and I want to play something! If you've played Crimes and Punishments, then you've played Sherlock Homes: The Devil's Daughter. It doesn't do anything new as such and with just 5 cases, it seems short. I enjoyed it for what it was and the cases are always quite cleverly thought out. They could try and improve or build on former "good" games though. I mean, I've played the Eventide trilogy for when you barely want to think, and you use the analysis tables more innovatively than Sherlock does. That aside, it was fun, and I breezed through it doing 2 cases a night. I'm on the planet clean up with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and there's just 2 to go. For games that grow on you, this is right in that category. I was actually disappointed when the main story came to a close because I was enjoying it that much. The variety of trophies is quite refreshing and not too taxing (if you don't mind collectables) and you do get used to the platforming and traversing the areas when you've opened the shortcuts. If you find decent collectable videos, then it's a nicely entertaining platinum. Final bits...I haven't had a chance to look at fixing the Vita yet so Steins Gate will have to stay where it is for now. After crying a bit about not getting the Monkey Island 2 speedrun trophy, I went ahead and did it again like a good lad. Moaning wastes time, literally ha. I'll check back in once more before the end. Virginia's just downloading so I'm hoping it's a wandering about looking at stuff experience where I can just use my right hand. If not, then that's entirely my fault for not researching it properly enough 😂 Keep going guys, almost there!
  8. 0 - Borderlands 1 - The Walking Dead: Season 2 2 - LEGO Marvel's Avengers 3 - Valiant Hearts: The Great War 4 - Seasons After Fall 5 - Shenmue II 6 - Monkey Island 2: Le Chuck's Revenge 7 - Stick it to the Man 8 - Fruit Ninja 9 - I enjoyed Shenmue II. It plays like poo but the journey and the variation is pretty cool, even all these years on. I still remember playing this on a mate's Dreamcast 20 years ago. Imagine playing a game 20 years ago where you could play games from 10 years previous. That's like a painting within a painting etc.. Really enjoyed the Hang On arcade dodgily located in a crumbling warehouse. I'll be playing Shenmue 3 because the journey has been pretty special so far. Monkey Island 2 was nice to relax with. It's as funny as I remembered and I'd forgotten the ending which is a classic. One more to go! Have fun everyone!
  9. Update #7: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - (8th July) 7. Kona (PS4) - (27th July) 8. Erica (PS4) - (3rd August) 9. Shenmue II (PS4) - 33% (15th August) 10. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 95% 11. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 44% 12. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 29% 33% 13. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% Swaps used: 2/2 I've finally got some progress going again, wooo! I hit a couple of snags along the way in Shenmue II. Ironically I didn't have the patience to catch leaves which is a part of your training within the main story. You have to catch 3 leaves in a row in order to progress. It's pretty tricky because it does require patience and timing. If you can't, no more story. I mean, fair play. I thought that was it for a while haha. It nicely rewards you with a gold for doing it though. The 2nd block was where you actually have to be OK at fighting. Most of the game you can bash your favourite combo, and then you're thrown into fighting 3 people of moderate skill (you can save in between). That was a case of turning it off saying "I probably won't be able to do that" to turning it on a week later and doing it 1st time. After that, you've got 25% of the game left which is a leisurely stroll for the most part (literally a leisurely stroll). The last hour of the game could have been used as a tutorial and it was lovely. I sat down one afternoon and had a laugh with Monkey Island 2. I wasn't going for the 3 hour speed run trophy but after I finished in 3.01.32, I reloaded the only save I had and could only manage 3.00.36. I did want to tick that off before this update, but I just played 10 mins and I am not feeling it one bit at the mo. The initial play was fun though, super fun, and I'd even forgotten about the ending. Classic. I can still finish the challenge but it's going to be tricky, mostly because I've found a new "thing". I've got lots of PS3 titles that I've previously written off the platinum for, but I've still got loads to do in them, in some cases finishing the story (Darksiders 2) so I've been going back through, effectively turning my trophy list upside down. Every game's a candidate provided I've got access to it and want to play it, so I'll be working on that on and off, up until the PS5 comes out, then I can "retire" my PS3 to it's box in a cupboard for safe keeping. In the time it's taken me to write this and tinker with it, I've convinced myself to get Monkey Island 2 done now before anything else. Jekyll and Hyde, which one's nuts? Cracking effort everyone, we're doing pretty well with this near the end. Loving the variety of games people are playing as always! Stay safe 👊
  10. It's not challenge related, but I'm currently ranked exactly 50,000. What are the chances eh? Just noticed! Does that make me famous? Anyway, thought I'd share that with the crew while it lasts! Hope everyone's all good. Edit: 3 hours on and I'm not now. Brief god status ended. Loved that though... And I may as well follow it up with a brief update. Update #6.5: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - (8th July) 7. Kona (PS4) - (27th July) 8. Erica (PS4) - 81% (3rd August) 9. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 37% 44% 10. Shenmue II (PS4) - 22% 33% 11. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 12% 29% 12. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 13. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% Swaps used: 2/2 I think I'd already made Erica my favourite FMV before I played it, but now I'm not too sure. It was right up my street being British (I'm a bit of a patriot), being a horror and being an FMV but I think I still prefer (controversially) Late Shift, for it's plot definitely. That being said, the amount of varied interaction is really impressive, and really frequent as well, rather than making you sit there and watch long bits. I think it'll be a long time until a game like this with 6 endings doesn't feel like a bit of a chore through the last couple of plays. My 3 blind runs meant I needed 7 plays in total so that didn't help! Oh maaaan, that song! The scream at the start, the creepy way Blake says we should go back to our flat and get a change of cloosssee. Mate, we're like 15, I'll ignore the kiss. The Vita is still making it tricky to make text decisions in Steins;Gate but I did get my 1st ending. A really disturbing ending, but I guess they all are. It's still slow going with having to reboot every 10 mins. I may open it up and have a look. Shenmue II is like Shenmue I, aged and very funny where it doesn't mean to be. I saw a post where someone commented how they couldn't understand how Shenmue got so much love with people recommending it etc. I think you have to have played it 20+ years ago and are playing it now for nostalgia to thoroughly have a good time with it. Tank controls, missable trophies dependent on day and confusing navigation don't make for a great experience, but it's satisfying to progress through. Did I mention it was really funny without realising? I'm getting on better with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. I can do more mental things with my lightsaber so it's more satisfying, and I'm getting better at navigating across the different planets. Still a shame there's only one point on each planet to fast travel to, unless that unlocks later.. The flashbacks where you learn new skills are really well integrated into the story and it feels more like a really good game now. The sliding on ice bits are still shite though. Have fun everyone, we're getting towards the final stretch!
  11. I'm in! For now, mine looks like this: 1. Persona 5 (PS4) - 26% 2. Borderlands 3 (PS4) - 23% 3. Up (PS3) - 22% 4. Layers of Fear: Masterpiece Edition (PS4) - 0% 5. The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS4) - 0% A classic mix of happiness and madness. Looking forward to it!
  12. Update #6: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - (8th July) 7. Kona (PS4) - 0% (27th July) 8. Erica (PS4) - 42% 81% 9. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 23% 37% 10. Shenmue II (PS4) - 0% 22% 11. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 0% 12% 12. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 13. Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% Swaps used: 2/2 It's been a little while! I'm back working behind the bar again after 4 months. It's nice to get back into it and see some old faces from town. The Covid precautions are pretty good. It's now all table service so you can scan the table number to order through the app, or order with the waitress. The bar is out of bounds. There's a big line of tables blocking the way with signs on saying no bar service. The amount of times people squeeze through tiny gaps looking me in the eye while they're doing it. "What are you doing mate?" "I just want a pint of..." "No, that's a barrier you've just struggled past. It's there for you and me you dick". Numerous times, men, women, young, old. Other than that, lovely to be back making cocktails and pouring pints in civilisation! I'll try and keep it down, too much work words... Kona is a survival detective mystery basically. Survival, as in, finding wood to make fires. I didn't know before I started, probably a good thing because I don't think I would have started it. I just hate being in panic stress mode. Luckily it's not that punishing. You can be in the "oh my god, i'm going to die, look at the frost coming in on the sides of the screen, it's all hopeless" mode for a fair while and still be alright apparently! It's a true detective game as well. You really have to hunt for clues to fill your journal up and progress. The film style narration of the protagonist Carl is brilliantly funny in parts but comforting as well because there's not a lot of interaction. The trophy list is varied and fairly challenging. I was able to get the no shooting, smoking and drinking trophies in my blind playthrough, but there was no way I was going for the no driving trophy without a guide on my 2nd run. Scary wilderness etc. I think it's a fab game. Not had any real poor ones yet, but... ...I hope Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a grower. At the moment I'm battling with it. I'm there with the plot and it's really nice visually but there's things. I thought i'd put in an hour last night. No no no, don't give yourself an hour. There's a reason the controller has to rumble violently when the game's ready to play. It's been 3-4 minutes. You're off doing something else and you go "oh yeh, the game". Can't knock the method though, it works. I bet they hated feeling obliged having to put that in. I thought I'd go and get some of the seeds that I'd missed on the planets I'd done rather than progress the story, time restricted and all that. Go to the 1st one, my mistake, I need double jump for that one. Go to next planet and look at the time. Right, should get this one in half an hour. Battle battle battle enemies, map check, which floor? Where? Right, gotcha, battle battle battle, map check, I'm even further away, bloody map. Times up. There'll be better days. I've opened a few shortcuts so I hope the navigation gets better but wow it's not fun at the mo. About as fun as sliding down the ice, jumping and missing a rope, over and over. Note to self, get gud at sliding and jumping. Erica needs one more playthrough (I hope). I need to try and merge a couple of playthroughs into one but I should be able to. I'll finish that in a couple of days and come back with another update because I've gone on a bit with this one. I'm another that sits down in the morning and really enjoys reading how everyone's doing! Lots of love to all! Take care.
  13. I'm the complete opposite! Lockdown came in which meant I had to be at home 24/7. I work in a bar so no working from home for me. I'm lucky enough to have a garden, a small one but a garden nevertheless. We locked down in the UK towards the end of March and a few weeks later the weather changed for the better. I really wanted to play games but I couldn't bear being inside when the sun was shining so I rediscovered my Vita after about 3-4 years of not touching it. To almost self protect, I fell into a lockdown routine of doing some bits of gardening, then sitting down with the vita for about 4 hours in the afternoon until the garden lost the sun, then I'd make some dinner and pop on the PS4. This was pretty much every day for 4 months and I started and finished some amazing VNs that I'd never considered before (zero escape, root letter, p4g). I'd rarely play the Vita in the evening or inside at all when the weather was miserable, but just wanting to be outside and play games in the nice weather seriously resurrected the handheld for me! Maybe that's because I'm from the UK so when we get a little bout of sun, we're all over it because we don't know when it'll come again! I just can't wake up to lovely weather and sit inside all day! It really is interesting to hear how people's routines have changed due to Covid and how this has effected people's gaming among other things. Ironically, I've stopped reading actual novels because the only time I did so was when I was working a 2nd job and staying at a mate's for a week at a time, but that's now stopped due to the pandemic. Also, i have to say mate, 50-100 platinums standing up? That's got to be some kind of record, outstanding!
  14. Was it the flying bits yeah? It's been years since I played Super Heroes but I think I used to use O and X to adjust the height. That was a right nightmare. With Avengers recently, I used the R stick, just little taps to line up with the circles in advance. I do seem to remember having a harder time with Super Heroes, I just don't know whether it's because you can't use the R stick, or you can use it and I didn't realise. Sorry for the next to no help. I hope you get it done! Seasons After Fall is lovely and fun. Good pick!
  15. 0 - Borderlands 1 - The Walking Dead: Season 2 2 - LEGO Marvel's Avengers 3 - Valiant Hearts: The Great War 4 - Seasons After Fall 5 - 6 - 7 - Stick it to the Man 8 - Fruit Ninja 9 - Got a couple more done. The polar opposite of games. Just the 9 years 10 months to platinum Borderlands on the PS3 😁 I had very fond memories of this but I just wanted the grind to level 50 to be over. I'll probably revisit the DLC in a couple of months to have a 10 year+ completion, madness! Only 5 years for Fruit Ninja on the Vita. I just had a few trophies to clear up. My mate and I encourage each other to clean up backlogs so when he reminded me of Fruit Ninja, it was nice for it to be a number I needed. 3 more to go; 2 plats and 1 100. I have a plan. Take care guys 👊
  16. 0 - 1 - The Walking Dead: Season 2 2 - LEGO Marvel's Avengers 3 - Valiant Hearts: The Great War 4 - Seasons After Fall 5 - 6 - 7 - Stick it to the Man 8 - 9 - I stuck it to the man in Stick it to the Man. Fun mental game. Not that close to anything else currently. Might try and get half plats and half 100s though, ooo.
  17. Update #5: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - (2nd July) 5. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - 52% 💯 (7th July) 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - 82% 💯 (8th July) 7. Erica (PS4) - 42% 8. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 20% 23% 9. Kona (PS4) - 0% 10. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 11. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 0% Swapped in: Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (PS4) - 0% Shenmue II (PS4) - 0% Swapped out: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (PSV) 77% Final Fantasy 7 Original (PS4) - 11% Swaps used: 2/2 Time for the swaps. I've got no urge to resume Danganronpa 2. My Vita is playing up so if I wasn't being mentally hampered, I'm physically hampered now. I was just going through the motions playing FF7. Missing the Gold Saucer date was the clincher as I thought. As for the ins, I like my detective stuff. I hope the Devil's Daughter is as good as Crimes & Punishments. I played Shenmue for the Spring challenge and had a good laugh doing so, so I'm adding the 2nd one as I got both together. I finished a couple of 100s last week. Valiant Hearts is such a good game to work through. It's got a nice variety of game play elements, at one point you're using sheep as cover for when flares are illuminating the sky. Using the dog to retrieve items is enjoyable, and there's lots of collectables that are relevant to the Great War, offering some decent history education. The Walking Dead S2 took me 6 years 8 months less time to finish than S1 (couldn't be bothered to persevere with the rock/papers/scissors trophy in S1 until a few weeks ago!). S2 is very very good in it's own right. I may have benefited from the years between playing the two, because I found I missed it, and I enjoyed it even more. I ended the game in a situation in which only 10% of players also found themselves in, but I was quite pleased. I'll be picking up the other 3 at some point for sure, especially since you have to do some bits to earn some trophies on the final season, rather than just play through. I'm now at the point in Steins;Gate where most people feel the story has now got good. I wholeheartedly agree. Still, a little mini game where you punch yourself in the face wouldn't go amiss. The protagonist is just arghhh, although you start to kind of understand why he is how he is. I've got ghosting problems with my Vita though. Something's causing the thumbstick to think it's down, meaning choosing responses to texts is impossible, if it lets me bring up the phone at all. Compressed air and/or turning the system off and on again might temporarily fix it. Any progress is slow going though. 6 hours for one chapter yesterday. I haven't swapped it out because I'm enjoying it enough to play whilst being hampered. Didn't expect to say that about Steins;Gate 2 updates ago! Other bits - I cleaned up Stick it to the Man for another 100 - play it! Seasons after Fall was a cheap and fun plat that was a nice alternative for a couple of days. Speaking of alternatives, I'm actually playing some AAA titles, get me! The plats for Resident Evil 2 and Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition are out of my sights, but I'm enjoying getting as many trophies as poss. Also, I did buy Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order in the end, so I've got a big game on my actual list, woo. Keep on keeping on!
  18. 0 - 1 - The Walking Dead: Season 2 💯 2 - LEGO Marvel's Avengers 3 - Valiant Hearts: The Great War 💯 4 - Seasons After Fall 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - I got tempted by the £1.99 price for Seasons After Fall and it was well worth it. It's got a slight Okami feel to it (I've played the Wii one, can't comment on PS4). You change the seasons to affect the environment and access new areas. Clever concept, fun platforming with some testing puzzles. Looks pretty to. I have to say TWD S2 was good enough to persuade me to play the other 3 in the future, nice. I've happily rediscovered Stick it to the Man so that should be #7. Having a fab time with that at the mo. It's great to get lots of decent varied game ideas from you all, really enjoying them! Hope everyone's all good.
  19. Recently... The Town of Light It was always at varying levels of cheap in the ps store and the screenshots just looked naff. In my opinion, as a "walking sim", it's only slightly behind Everybody's gone to the Rapture and I'm a little biased towards that one, because I live in a little village in England. Good disturbing engaging story and a fun trophy list to clean up. Over the past year or so... Yakuza 0. I had no idea how much fun that game, and indeed the whole series is. I've taken screenshots of so many hilarious moments, especially in the sub-stories.
  20. Update #4: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - 82% (28th June) 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - 65% (2nd July) 5. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - 65% 82% 6. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (PSV) 77% 8. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - 19% 52% 7. Erica (PS4) - 24% 42% 9. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 16% 20% 10. Final Fantasy 7 Original (PS4) - 8% 11% 11. Kona (PS4) - 0% 12. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 13. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 0% My focus is a bit all over the place so hopefully this update sorts that a bit! I finished off Ratchet & Clank and I haven't got a bad or sarcastic word to say about it, it was really good fun. The controls are good, the variation is decent and the grind at the end is fine. I got the plat halfway through a 3rd run whilst levelling up the Ryno so I was just blasting the shite out of everything when it popped. FUN. One of the hoverboard race trophies took me a few hours but it always felt like I should beat it. I don't always manage the ones that I feel I should be able to get though. I needed to kill a few days while waiting for the fish tank to bed in, so I managed the hub clean up on Lego Avengers pretty quickly. It wasn't as painful as expected and as with all Lego games, I ended up enjoying it overall. Avoiding using the cars for the ground races was a good shout. Quicksilver is ya boi. Finally figured out the R stick controls the altitude when you're flying as well. Not sure how long I was using O and X for(yes really). Things I won't miss; iron man posing like a nobhead for 5 seconds after uncovering a mystery bit. Having to charge Thor up before he can use the electricity points, and not being able to nicely get the gold brick you've just arduously earned, because you have to weirdly jump and rub yourself against the side of it because the chest is shit. Apart from that, Lego games. I'll keep playing them, with hefty gaps in between. Quick fire bits... I'm onto the last episode of TWD S2. Does she die? Does anyone else die? Do I care? Yeh, I think so! I'm getting the collectables as I go in Valiant Hearts, redoing the section if I miss any. Some of the puzzles need a fair bit of brain. Lovely game, I'll write more when I finish. 3 play-throughs of Erica and not half way done yet. The trophies pop at the end so I may use a guide from now on, mainly because my memory is shocking. Get the violins out, I'm waiting at the Gold Saucer and Aeris turns up. I had a wonderful time, but that will probably prevent the FF7 Original 100% for this event. I'm still playing so if I get everything else done, I may start afresh. Swaps might be coming up. Enjoying the updates as always. Hope everyone's all good.
  21. Update #3: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - (18th June) 3. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - 30% 82% 4. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (PSV) 77% 5. Lego Avengers (PS4) - 47% 65% 6. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - 0% 65% 7. Erica (PS4) - 24% 8. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - 19% 9. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 0% 16% 10. Final Fantasy 7 Original (PS4) - 8% 11. Kona (PS4) - 0% 12. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 13. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 0% I've gone for a bit of a shotgun blast approach this last week or so. With 4 games in recent progress, and 8 games in progress in total, I still strangely want to play something else at the moment. I'm not allowing myself to though, because I've placed a PS store ban on myself indefinitely. I've had to buy a new fish tank because the current one has a leak. I'm so so lucky that its high up meaning I only needed to reduce the water by an inch to stop it. Wallet's been hit hard though, so no new games for me. This does mean I'll have to swap out Fallen Order as it's the only game I don't currently own. Don't know what I'll replace it with yet so I'm leaving it on there for now. Right, quick fire game comments.. I'm into the challenge mode in Ratchet & Clank and I'm loving it. This was one of the last games I played before I stopped drinking and I kept getting flashbacks of being insanely lost, confused and angry. What a remarkable experience change. It's just genuinely fun to play. The levelling of all weapons to max might go into a 3rd PT but I don't care, crazy. I've now got all the minikits/characters/Stan Lee's from all the levels (+DLC) on Lego Avengers and my in-game completion is just 58%, wow. I tried to clear a mini hub world yesterday but got bored. Short, sharp attacks at this are needed I reckon. I'm enjoying The Walking Dead S2 a lot more than I thought I would. Clementine's a badass. There's some split second decisions you make that can turn out shockingly, but Clementine just remains a stoic nutcase from what I've seen so far. Minimal whining, the girl's grown up. I'll definitely be picking up the others when my wallets happier. My oh my, I came quite close to giving up on Steins;Gate. By the looks of the trophy percentages, a fair few did. 13% didn't get from pressing start (yes, you get a trophy for pressing start) to the end of the prologue. A further 16% then didn't finish Chapter 1. For a VN, this tells it's own story (ha). It's a combination of how slow it is, how niche the subject is and the fact that it's extremely hard to like yourself (in the game that is). Two days ago, I never thought I'd warm to the mad scientist, but I actually am. He treats his mates like shit, laughs maniacally too much and thinks it's acceptable to put his hand up a girl's top to check she's alive. This last point really gave me a "ffs, again" feeling. I was so so close to turning it off for good but I remembered I'd chosen to play it because it features at the top of a lot of the VN lists. I've now discovered the reason. I'm hooked and I'm firmly in, but it shouldn't have taken 12 hours of play time to get there. I've just finished Chapter 3. Have fun and take care all!
  22. Update #2: 1. The Town of Light (PS4) - (3rd June) 2. The Council (PS4) - 0% ➡️ (18th June) 3. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair (PSV) 32% ➡️ 77% 4. Lego Avengers (PS4) - 16% ➡️ 47% 5. Ratchet & Clank (PS4) - 30% 6. Erica (PS4) - 24% 7. Valiant Hearts (PS4) - 19% 8. Final Fantasy 7 Original (PS4) - 8% 9. Kona (PS4) - 0% 10. Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge (PS3) - 0% 11. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (PS4) - 0% 12. Steins;Gate (PSV) - 0% 13. The Walking Dead S2 (PS4) - 0% I've been screwed over with the retro / remaster sale that's currently on. I want most things. Settled on Destroy all Humans, Bully and Okami HD. I'm desperately trying to not get more. I also picked up The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 a few days ago. I'm not going to add them to the list, but I've got a few in the bag for potential swaps. Speaking of swaps, I might have fallen out with Danganronpa 2 a little bit. I'm finding the end game stuff really monotonous and the extra Monomi mode isn't great at all. There's a trophy for getting all the presents in Monomi mode as well which means I could get lucky and get them all within 3 hours, or much much longer. The main game was thoroughly entertaining. Perhaps if it wasn't as much, then the extras wouldn't feel so bleugh. Parking it for the time being. Where do I start with The Council? I had a lot of issues with it. It's not rubbish. If it was outright shite, I'd have been a lot more understanding, but it shows potential. I loved the concept of getting character points for different traits which unlocked different dialogue options. There's a lot of dialogue options and perhaps this was the game's downfall. After choosing certain options, the pacing of the speech was all over the place. The main character sounds like a wet fart one minute and a twat the next. There's a fairly major point where something may or may not physically happen to you. If that happens, only half the people you talk to bother to mention it! Spoiler tags aren't working so I won't mention it but look it up if you're curious! The plot and the characters were great. The character points system forms the skeleton of what could be some banging games in the future, but not this one. Despite all this, I'm still glad I've played it rather than not. Solid Lego Avengers progress. I've been clearing up 5 levels a day for a few days. I have to say that I found most of the DLC levels to be really short and average, but I guess people mainly buy them for the character packs. Saying that, the Doctor Strange one was pretty cool. Random bits - a friend wanted to get the MP trophies for Journey so we went through that. Loved it, sometimes I need to be forced to play certain games. I also finished Hidden Through Time which I highly recommend. It's basically where's Wally (or Waldo for some). So chilled and nice to play! Hope everyone's all good!
  23. Ooo, count me in please! I'll have a look at what numbers I'm naturally "in progress" with a bit later. That will be quite fun in itself. Nice one for putting this on! 😀
  24. Played through twice last night whilst trying to meet up with a mate. We started all the levels at the same time but by the end I'd encountered 8 players and he'd encountered 7, but not each other. For the second run, we both started the frozen level at the same time and appeared together. It might be easier when you've finished the game once and got chapter select. Crux of it is, June 2020 and I encountered 10 players across 1.5 playthroughs. It's alive
