  1. The PlayStation 5 has sold an estimated 7.8 million units, breaking the PlayStation 4's record. In spite of widespread news of scalping, only about 10% of the stock is believed to have been scalped and the majority of those consoles have ended up in the hands of gamers anyway. This is all in spite of chip shortages and stock and transportation difficulties brought about by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. On top of this, PlayStation has sold 338 million copies of games on its platforms in this entire financial year, helped in no small part by its famous first-party lineup. Though Sony and the PS5 have not been perfect- far from it- it is also very clear that PlayStation is not the sinking ship many doomsayers are calling it. Returnal is shaping up to be something special this weekend and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart continues to wow us in the run up to its early June release, so along with the cross platform hit Spider-Man: Miles Morales and the remake of 2009's Demon's Souls, it is safe to say that the PS5 has hit the ground running with a lot more to come.

Thanks for the good wishes, @Stan Lee. I'm confident they'll be back in stock soon. Been wanting to get it by around June for the new Ratchet so hopefully by that time there'll be a greater influx of PS5 supply by that point. Definitely hoping to get the disc version, I love building up a library of games on my shelf. 😀

I'm with you there on the Ratchet hype train @Infected Elite! It looks like a really innovative game in the series and the setup of the story is pretty creative. I remember playing the Ratchet games often on PS2, they were absolutely classics!

Indeed, the PS5 is shaping up for success. I was initially starting to believe they were letting that get to their head with the PS3 shutdown announcement so it's good to see they made a reversal on that decision. The new Ratchet and Clank game is definitely looking to be a great installment to the series too, it's still awesome how Insomniac managed to make both a Spider-Man and Ratchet game within the first 12 months of the console. I kinda figured they'd make one or the other but definitely not both! A welcome surprise for sure.

Now, if I could just get my hands on the darn thing without having to pay my kidneys that'd be great! 😅
