I got the plat + DLCs recently and I can say that the Survival mode is crazy unfair, you have to be pretty damn good at the game to solo it or have a high RNG on your side. You even have to proceed carefully to do the Survival in coop. Also, this game in general is pretty unfair so I recommend playing coop if able to at least gain access to the revive mechanic. Answering the OP question. Yes, you can do this game 100% offline solo, but in my opinion it is harder.

I still wish someday they will do a huge ps3/vita sale as a surprise gift for something. Anyway, will wait for the new March psplus games before buying No Man's Sky.

I've got nearly the same team, I have a pretty decent squad but it takes a lot to reach...1600points? Plus , I don't know what happens that when I leave a match via XMB, when I try to play the next match it says "Connection lost to the player" all the time, and I have to wait hours for it to reconnect. Congrats for the FIFA plat! I'm still taking my way to the DIV4, currently at 1000 points. I should hurry before they fix the glitch but earning 20-30 points/win doesn't help at all

Cheers from Catalonia, mate! I would go with Ratchet & Clank, and Shadows of Mordor GOTY, both are easy and fast platinums, and pretty fun Also, Deponia with a guide is a two-evening platinum, with some fun storyline.
