  1. completely agree with this. At the end of the day a good and bad trophy list speaks of the developer rather than of the platform. A great developer will come up with a fun, innovative and rewarding trophy list, while others will just try and get it out fo the way asap. props to Sony for supporting devs, and allowing them to play in the space.
  2. having worked as a producer on an indie game before (KLAUS if youre wondering - and before you ask we had a pretty difficult trophy list) the trophy list is something that Sony does not put too many requirements, and leave it open to the developer. The only requirement, is a check for all of them popping and meting the conditions under their TRCs. Also I think Sony understand that some game might be catering specific to trophy whores, and happily let them operate, as it helps satisfy a decent customer base considering the price fo these games. also, i didnt mean to change it retroactively, but going forward for the next generation.
  3. personally, one change that I would love to see is that if merging of platform trophy lists - for example - games like GTA v and last of us - which you might have played massive chunks on one platform and now cant complete if you play on the other - for example - I have all the single player trophies for last of us on the PS4 and all multiplayer on the PS3 - if I could share the trophy lists it would have been a plat for a game I really loved - but with the dead multiplayer by the time I got to that step and having previously already done the entire grind, I had no motivation to do that again. not necessarily shared saves, but just shared trophy lists. it encourages cross platform play more than having separate trophy lists - which really just helps attract people to EZ plats with many trophy lists. this would be something which wil increasingly become an issue as we arrive at the next generation and the end of this gen - I can already dread, having to play cyberpunk 2077 twice on what will perhaps be at least a 150 hour plat if I want plats onboth.
  4. doom platinum - i wish I could have had the patience to platinum that game even tho I loved it.
  5. Only really got into the souls series properly post Sekiro, and after platinumming Sekiro and Bloodborne, have finally arrived on DS3 - had played DS1 on the PS3 - but really never got into it. Loving the game, but this farming of shackles and proof of concord kepts is killing me. Most of the guys who are summoning dudes are gankers with overpowered builds and healers/tears of denial etc. Wanted to suggest a fight club for trophy hunters, where we could duel for few hours, and help each other get some shackles /proof of concords. I believe a couple of sessions could help all of us net some of this - and possibly even a session for the wolf sword grass. Would only require at least 3 of us - I can find a player to referee (someone with already a platinum) - will only require us to connect through a password. DO let me know. Did see a bunch of player playing the game currently. RULES - No healing items/no blue estus items/no buffs. just pure man o man combat. with a referee. We can setup something for this week/ weekend Cheers!
  6. Usually I just buy games that I really want to play - and if I like them enough, I try my damnest to platinum them, if however I get bored, I tend to leave the game soon after. However if I'm buying an old game on sale, that I missed out on and really wNt to play, and need to choose between two game (for example recently between Wolfenstein 2 and Ghost Recon Wildllands) I do take into consideration, which of the platinums is more achievable - since I know that the wolfenstein 2 platinum is pretty much unlikely - and am more likely to get bored of the game before I can make it through the death incarnate run, I ddid go for Ghost recon which I know I will (being a fan of open world games ) be more likely to take towards platinum. As a result i have fewer platinums - and most of them are usually in the 10 - 25% range - because theyre likely games that are super popular amongst the community. I do have like one ultra rare platinum from my 20 or so platinums (but I only got that one coz I love stealth games) and not because I was really trying. I only really start trying for a platinum on a game, once I've spent at least 25 hours on it/I've finished it at least more than once. I think trophy lists speak of what kind of gamer you are, what games you like, what you don't like - its like your profile to signal to others your interests and your dislikes. so I would never play a game only coz its got an easy platinum, but if a game has an easy platinum and is about something I love (in my case the most common plat I have is of Batman the tell tale game) I would surely play that. At the end of the day I would like to stand by all my plats, coz they were games I lived and loved. Still hoping to make it to the rdr 2 platinum, but dont know if Ill ever own five horse concurrently yet/ or that I could bring myself back to get the 30-40 gold medals Im missing. but I really have spent over 300 hours on the game - and is perhaps my most rewarding experience in the last two years in a single game. I think plats aregreat, but just playing a great game is greater. TLOU - for example - I have all the single player trophies on PS4 and all online tropies on PS3 - but I have pretty much given hope on getting its plat - coz online is pretty much dead and grindy now - but Ive come to terms with that. its not the end of the world, and TLOU will still remain one of my fav games of all time.
  7. still got to do the gold medals - have only about 20 right now - but got my 100% completion last - the its art trophy was my last thing completed - and took me 6 days and 16 hours - I think I wasted a bunch of time in the beginning ust riding the whole map during chapters 2 and 3 - tho 160 hours sounds a bit too much I think now. ps - pretty sure I wasted like 5 hours just searching for that western moose.
  8. Rice is one of the strongest healing items in the game, while it does less healing immediately than a gourd it keeps you healing for almost as long as a pellet. Is especially useful during the final parts of the final phases of boss fights, when bosses tend to get unnecessarily aggressive in this game. There have been multiple occasions - especially with great owl, demon of hatred, isshin and a couple of minibosses where I ended up using the rice (which later after recieving the frozen tears become s fine snow which is completely insane!) and I didnt die despite getting hit by an entire combo, coz I was healing faster than I was taking damage. also its infinitely replenishable, just go back to the divine child, and just ask him for more once youve used it.... you do need to have travelled a couple of times, before the harvest happens... One of the most underrated consumables in the game - of course the sweet rice ball is one of the best items, but you only have access to it for a very small window, and it is infinitely replenishable during that time coz its like snow + gokun's sugar.
  9. can not forget how I randomly stun locked the ninja shadow boss at the great serpent shrine into a double ichimonji, poor guy, just could never recover from it lol. kept spamming the ichimonjis on the dude, and he went down in like less than a minute. don't know if its replicable - will try it out again in my new game plus playthrough. I think it was coz I baited him out back into the forest coz the first time he destroyed me when we fought in the temple. In the trees and bushes he gets a bit confused lol.
  10. just finished this fight after 12 hours today. not my favorite boss to be honest - a bit of a cheater, and a complete idiot. my own advice - don't try any of the cheese strategies - I wastedl iike 5 hours in the wrong direction all together. How I finally beat it was - with no sugars, no addons, just pure and simple deflect, deflect , deflect, hit, mikiri counter - but always on the pressure. do not jump except for the unblockable sweep attacks - you can deflect everything. If your posture breaks, just block again - rather than rolling away. Do not try to play the health game in my opinion, unless you are a person of great patience - for me the posture game works much better with him. When he does the wind up attacks. Just jump on his head, it will keep you safe and you can get some hits in. Thats the only two moves you jump for . Of course - the mikiri is the mikiri - with the spear phases always deflect the gunshots, he will follow up with the mikiri, you hit his posture real bad - don' tget greedy and get too many hits in - this is not a health battle in my opinion. For the final phase be ready to do the lightning reversal that will be your best friend. Also tip - after dying to him in his last phase at 5% health almost 10 times- remember to block as soon as you heal, he is a nasty animal and will always do a followup attack, and one that can be deflected. By the end, my final run I basically did the first three phases almost perfect, coz I knew the patterns by heart. I dont know tho - there was really not much satisfaction - perhaps as much as I was hoping - I actually felt way better when I defeated owl father, the demon of hatred, and the guardian ape - now the guardian ape, that was exciting - this was just a like an examination, where even two wrong answers means a fail. Just my two cents. Final edit - try not to dodge anything except the double ichimonji - if you can side step dodge that - you can hit him wiht your own double ichi monji if you have one - or just two hits if you don't to get some really good posture damage. When he sheathes his sword in phase one run away from him - thats perhap s the only attack thats worth running away from him. If you keep a distance from him, he keeps recovering posture, and this asshole then needs to be killed the old fashioned way - through health.
  11. lol. and as soon as I put this on the forum, on the verge of giving up - the RNG gods take pity and give me one finally. This platinum is one that was a bit annoying - but I loved the game and the music so much, didn't mind going through it twice. tho some trophies (golden finger, mask compendium etc) nearly made me give up on the platinum lol
  12. I've only got the crystal skull remaining as persona left to complete mask compendium. hve already finished all seven palaces and bosses except for final boss, but cant seem to catch the treasure demon - tried the shehiruth and treasure trap on floor 13 strategy multiple times, on multiple different days. will be much appreciated if someone could give tips - so annoying that Ive now played over 140 hours on persona 5 and this one mask is keeping me away from my platinum on this game I love
