  1. Haven't ever had my PS3 slim lock up on me, but it did three times today. It was in the same game, which I suspect is the problem, but still mildly concerning. I have Plus automatic saves backup turned on so no worries there.

I'll have to do some experimenting with some other games or see if I can narrow down what might be causing it.

I had that happen over and over again when I was playing Awakened Fate Ultimatum. After cleaning the vents it stopped doing that, so might want to give it a try. Could also be a disc problem resulting either from scratches, disc rot or sun damage.

@Masamune Yeah I tried that it dien't work.

It updated now, after about 15 minutes of giving the queue message

  3. Is there a list of the EU PS Now games anywhere? I can onky find the US one, which has a bunch of games that aren't available for the EU version of it.

  4. Thinking of getting the following from the Spring Sale. Any of them not worth my time?:
    Aer
Bear with Me: The Complete Collection
    Bully
    Detective Gallo

Edna and Harvey: Harvey's New Eyes

    Stick it to the Man

Aer - sort of a filler game. I didn't like it, but could maybe be a palate cleanser between longer games.

Bear with me - I enjoyed it quite a lot. But I like noir setting and the occasional dark humour.

Bully - find it to be exeptionally overrated. Gameplay-wise it feels dated and that's something to keep in mind going into it.

Detective Gallo - I thought it was quite entertaining.

Harvey's New Eyes - A tad dark and macabre, which is a nice change from other point-and-click games.

Haven't played Stick it to the Mna, but I played Flipping Death, which is very similar and by the same devs. Thought it was interesting, but got kind of tiring after a while

That's right, I completely forgot about the 10 minute caveat for the arena. Oh well, guess I'll hang out in WIldlands for the upcoming 2 days.

Not really a fan of the time constraints, as I like to explore everything  and go through it at my own pace, but other than that  it's a solid game. I wished the garb/gear would be ipmlemented in other FF games, it just offers more variety instead of always having the same bland outfit.

I'm wondering whether or not the arena battle counts for the trophy as well, as that might be the fastest way to farm. Can't use the Death Game method anymore, as I already finished that quest.

Not sure what anyone was expecting. It was clearly a presentation meant to be held at the GDC, which fell through, as such it was mainly tech details. Keep in mind that devs need to know what they will be working with. Since GDC ain't happening, this was Sony's way to get info out.

Consumers will probably only get "interesting" info late summer.

The series is essentially divided into Main series and Spin-offs.

Main series are only 1-3 + Megadimension. Everything else are spin-offs and will mostly just reference characters from other games, without being directly tied to the storie afaik.

Just to clarify, this is not on sale (there is no end date set for it). It got a permanent price drop, because it's not selling well. Might want to get another game of the series instead, as most of them have actually been on sale for under a tenner, several times throughout the years.

  10. Need some insight from folks that play games that I don't play. I typically play JRPGs and indie games. If you play AAA games, shooters, sports games, fighting games, VR, multiplayer/online games, etc and have about 5-10 minutes to help me out, I'd appreciate it!!! I'll message the people that respond here.

About 5 years ago I never thought I'd reach teh 100 plats, and now I'm scratching the 400. To be fair, about a 100 of them are fairly easy games ranging from Telltale, Hidden Object games to Point-and-clicks, which I'm fine with as I enjoyed the vast majority of them.

  13. So I was at a concert last night... one of the support bands played an exceptionally good set and performed incredibly, and they are selling a jumper I really like and would love to buy... but here's the problem: the band name is Thy Antichrist, the jumper has 666 written on the sides and I can imagine many being offended. Need your opinions: is it suitable for public wearing?

It's a topic that more people should reflect on, as it's the cause for a lot of messed up things that happened/happen. The whole judging a book by it's cover mentality  is an issue. In regards to consequences, yes there are some, but are there any bad ones? I don't believe so. This is pretty much a black and white scenario as it gets. Either you do you and end up meeting people of the same mindset/interests/mentality and possibly even some who by chance happened to stick around long enough to realise that people are more than just the outter shell that's visible. Then there's the scenario, where you deny yourself from being the person you are, while having the constant worry of pleasing everyone and as a result being surrounded by people who might actually despise what you secretly love, but don't realise it. It's up to each individual, if they want to surround themselves with people like that.

Anyway, that's enough rambling for the year. t's a whole philosophical discussion that doesn't really have an end to it. Have a good one, I for one am getting myself pumped full of much needed caffeine now.

@Midnightwards666 It's not only that, but the impossibility to appease everyone, even if we'd try. There will always be something that will rub someone else the wrong way, so trying to worry too much about what others might think will end up making you miserable. The "might" being the key here. The fear of uncertainty of acceptance or possible exclusion.

It's not only regarding the type of clothing either, literally anything can and will make someone else raise their eyebrows. It's a problem with society as a whole, that has always been judgemental of others, especially if it's regarding something that is considered out of the norm. A norm, once again created by a society that didn't know any better. It's a vicious circle that everyone is guilty of,to some extent, because everybody has judged somebody over something at some point, It's part of human nature, just as much as seeing something horrible on the news, acknowledging it to be horrible and yet to continue watching it due to some sort of inexplicable morbid fascination. In conclusion, as long as it doesn't inflict harm to others, everyone should do what makes them feel better about themselves.

You kind of answered your own question. You said you like it, and you're the one that'll wear it. Therefore it doesn't really matter what other people think about it or you for wearing it. Well, unless it's illegal to wear something like that wherever you live, which in most cases I'd assume only goes for streaking.

    1. voodoo_eyes

      voodoo_eyes

@eigen-space I can only assume, but I believe it has to do with the "internet culture". The mere premise of anonymity facilitates people to not have a filter. As a result they'll say whatever they want. Some are just ignorant to the connotations of words and their effect on other people/society etc., others just think it's the internet so anything goes and it doesn't hurt anyone, and then there are those who are just purely malicious and just don't care.

    1. voodoo_eyes

      voodoo_eyes

@eigen-space It's usually a sign of ignorance, as some people have a really hard time understanding that there's a difference in the use of PCs for games and consoles. While on a PC you have the potential to get the best out of the game, you also have to be prepared to spend a good amount of time in configuration settings for each game. There will be compatibility issues, some game not working with graphic card x, y, or z or the rig not being powerful enough in the first place to run it. Anyone who spent some time gaming on PC and read the minimum requirements of a game and actually tried to run the game on those minimal requirements was guaranteed to be on for an unpleasant surprise. Not to mention that generally you'll need to upgrade hardware at a regular rate to actually get the best out of a PC.

On a console, all you have to do is install/download  the game and it will work. No fiddling about with settings or worry that the hardware can't handle the game. Yes, the performance will be less, but I can guaranatee that there ain't a PC that you can buy for the price of a console, off the shelf and run games similar to what's playable on those consoles. Not to mention that couch co-op is only a console thing reall.

As such the whole "PC master race" concept is a nonsensical. I feel it only crept up because purist PC gamers are just bitter that a lot of the console exclusives are generally considered fantastic games and they can't get them on their 4000$ rig. It's the same reason why when rtalk about PS5 comesup, people try to mock it by replying with "Knack 3". Funny how no one says Bloodborne 2, God of War whatever, Horizon Zero Dawn 2, etc.... However those same people will then go play those exclusives on the respective consoles anyway, occasionally mubble "would be better on PC" and still continue playing it having a good time regardless.

@DamagingRob I like the intrigue of it. Not a fan of the stealth/shooting segments though as they feel a bit out of place. I'm going through blind, so I'm not sure how far I'm in. I think I only have 2 blackboards unavailable, so I shouldn't be too far from the end. The game kind of needs a constant seizure warning. Overall it's solid so far.

  20. What the hell is happening to metalcore bands like Bring Me The Horizon and I See Stars? Seems BMTH released a new album, and I was really excited since I loved Sempiternal and That's the Spirit, but I'm not really enjoying the new album. Only one or two songs, but still, they are not as hardcore as they used to.

I also don't dislike I See Stars last album Treehouse, it's a shame that the most hardcore guy on the band left.

Are the vocals not able to scream anymore? xD

    1. voodoo_eyes

      voodoo_eyes

Well, bands end up trying to evolve and the new sound might end up not appealing everyone. It's part of the music business and happens frequently, sometimes it just backfires.
I mean either of those two bands have way more clean vocals than usual for metalcore bands. It's a different spin on the genre. If you listen to Parkway Drive or As  I Lay Dying it's much more "hardcore". I think what you're looking for is more along the lines of Dead By April, WovenwarWe came as Romans, The Word Alive, Bullet for My Valentine, Sonic Syndicate, All That Remains.

  21. Syberia 3 - Anyone know of a good trophy guide for this one? I'm already having to restart as the PST guide doesn't really have missables laid out nicely... they have the order in which your trophies should pop in their roadmap, but they don't list out where the intermittent steps for multi-part trophies are unless you read through each individual trophy... kind of a pain to keep track of with that layout.

    1. voodoo_eyes

      voodoo_eyes

Not sure how well it'll suit your needs, but there's this one Syberia 3 . I think it's more of a complete walkthrough guide though, so it may be very heavy on spoilers. I haven't played the game yet, so I can't say for sure how good that guide is, but so far there haven't come across a guide from that site that was bad.

Well, I've already been farming items for a good 15 hours. Been looking for the ring alone at least 3 hours since then, still haven't found it. Already hit the level cap by now and have over 4 million credits. Thanks though :P .

I finished the post game dungeons at level 52, and have been running the 1st one for the Miraculous Ring, and the 2nd/3rd one for the White Jag Gem, Double S Jag Gem, Black Hex Gem and Trap Proof Hex Gem (there were 3 or 4 more which I've gotten by now). I'm currently at level 74 and that's without using any levelers.

  24. Trying to create some order in my backlog, so I'm checking which games in there I haven't played yet and really should experience.

I've pulled out the games I'm already playing right now - only games I've played in the last week count. The cursive titles are backlog games which I already have played through on a different system. Next to that, I've pulled out some 'high profile' games, which I've never played through but want to have high on my to-do list.

Let me know if there's anything in here that deserves to be a high priority.

Upcoming games I've preordered and will make high priority once they release:

PS4 - Assassin's Creed Odyssey, HITMAN 2, Red Dead Redemption II (unless I end up not picking it up to concentrate on the others)

Switch - Valkyria Chronicles 4, Starlink Battle For Atlas

I'll also probably end up with Super Mario Party and Smash Bros. Ultimate on release, and Spider-Man soon after release.

Only ones I can give an opinion on are these:

SOMA - This one I'd recommend. Has an interesting story, albeit kind of predictable.

Valley - Very different gaming experience, so maybe worth checking out just for that. Personally thought it was decent.

       PS4 PS+ backlog

Amnesia Collection - It's alright, some of the mechanics are more annoying than actually scary (that goes for all 3 games).

Apotheon - Pretty good, but has a tendency to crash on a regular basis. Might want to skip it, if you don't want to deal with that nonsense.

Dust: An Elysian Tail - A good hack-and-slash with metroidvania elements.

forma.8 - This was subpar, as the controls were wonky and imprecise

Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell - Was ok. Not a game I'd consider anywhere close to a must play though.

Super Exploding Zoo - Trash that has potential to corrupt your save file.

      PSVR PS+ backlog

Here They Lie - very underwhelming. I played it without VR, but I can't imagine this being much better with VR enabled. It's a very bland environment with a couple of jump scares and three "stealth" sections. Also, it doesn't have any options to regulate the sound.
