  1. PSN is down! T_T I hope they fix it soon. I hope the problems aren't caused by those damn hackers.

@DrakeHellsing I can't upvote your comment more than once, otherwise I'd have blown it up. Too funny. BTW, I love smart asses. Makes the world that much more interesting.

@Jigglypuff Hmm, you may be right. I guess DDosing is not hacking as I thought it would be.

Anyway, I hope they fix this issue soon. I want to play Monster Hunter World! T_T

  2. Ya know. Some people wish they were back in the 90s, but I am thankful for today's era. In this era right now, we have smartphones, trophies and achievements for PlayStation and Xbox (Not a Xbox fan btw), Wi-Fi. Debit and Credit cards with chips in them so we almost don't always have to swipe them, we can insert them into a chop reader, increasing defense in cyber security, mobile games (Including popular gacha games), we no longer have to use PS1, PS2 and Gamecube memory cards because they don't have enough space (thank god for eternal hard drives and portable ones for our game systems), cloud saving (PS4 and Nintendo Switch, yeah, I support those. Fight me! > : ) ), and HD TVs.

Back in the 90s, we have old phones, and other stuff. I mean, my old phone before I got an iPhone from my dad was the worse! It keeps accidentally turn on and unlocked and accidentally dialed numbers while in my pocket. But now that I got a smartphone, I am thankful for today's technology because we are advancing in technology which gives us better medicine and more. Sure, the 90s was better, but today's era is also great and both the 90s and today's era  are amazing in every way.

lol in terms of technology, definitely. In terms of just about everything else, nah, at the very least we desperately need some semblance of 90s, like Nighcisama said, especially in terms of human interaction.

@RedRodriguez87 While I can understand that, both the 90s and today's era are both good imo.

People have some real rosey views of the 90’s, but it’s very interesting how they justify that decade being so much better than any other. There is some real knit-picking of things and total disregard for other things that definitely isn’t taking everything into consideration.

  3. This morning, I realized my account is now premium! I was like "Holy crap!". I wonder who gift me premium. If so, I want to thank the person who gift me premium.

  5. Today, I was considering taking a break from the forums because for some odd reason, I keep getting attacked by certain users because I rubbed them the wrong way.

But, considering I met some wonderful good people here who aren't like them, I decided to endure it and not let them get under my skin.

I am also invited to the Night of Champions this Thursday with the owner of the coffee shop who I work for. So it's a real honor since I have austitsm.

If anyone doesn't know, the coffee shop I work at helps those with disabilities find jobs and prove they are not broke,

Hey there, glad to hear that you will be sticking around. I know there are people here (and everywhere else for that matter) that make it impossible to get along with but the best thing to do is to not let get it to you. Like, yeah, humans are bound to disagree on a lot of things but the best course of action is to just accept things as they are and don't get mad by it. Sometimes is not even worth it, trust me. Better to live a happy life as free from worries as possible.

Anyway, to keep it short, awesome that you will be around here some more. Also, glad that you got invited to that Night of Champions at the place you work in. Must have made your day the moment you got invited. :)

Never fear haters or toxic people. I sometimes envy those with more haters than me. If no one hates you, no one loves you either. Speak your mind, and if someone can't handle it, that's their problem.

  6. After seeing this thread

I am shocked and disgusted that a player used a debug menu method to earn the platinum trophy of a game in 5 minutes. Debug menus in the past were okay, but this is today's society and we have to earn trophies through hard work and effort (While there are cheat codes that are okay to help get trophies, using debug menus to earn them in 2 or 1 minutes is not okay at all). Seeing this thread has made me smh at the TC's shameful way to earn a platinum trophy. I honestly hope PSNProfiles and other sites crack down on cheaters who used debug menus. Something like this shouldn't go unpunished.

@soultaker655I would say more like 99%. It is extremely difficult to change anyone's views - it seems to be a part of human nature that once an opinion is formed, it's set in stone. Can you think of any instances in the 10% where someone actually has changed their mind on something? I can't...

    3. Wavergray

      Wavergray

@Midnightwards666 it is rare, but I have seen people change their mind/opinion on topics after having a conversation about the topic on the internet. Usually it requires the people in the conversation to have a certain level of maturity, instead of the normal low tier 4chan edgelords you meet on the internet.

    4. Midnightwards666

      Midnightwards666

Absolutely. I'm always prepared to change my mind in any debate if the person makes a good enough case. It's immature not to be.

No, I honestly can say that I did not notice a problem with the sound.  My wife and I play the soundtrack in our room while we sleep, and my ps4 theme plays the main theme from the game, so it is possible that my brain just filled in the gaps naturally.

actually there is another possibility ... Maybe I did notice and issue, and my rose coloured glasses just caused me to forget it.  Either way, I do not remember there being a problem.

    3. DamagingRob

      DamagingRob

@Sir_Bee You're not alone. I wonder if it was something fixed in a patch, as I got to it pretty late. But yeah, I didn't notice anything wrong with it.

I think it had the same issue as IX where it restarts the music after winning the battle, but I didn't notice anything in particular about the sound quality. I was aware of the fact that it was ported from phones so I probably just shrugged it off if there was anything.

A bit of an over exaggeration. We have to see how it performs first but, if anything and based on previous similar attempts by the video game industry,  there is a high chance of failure despite Google's backing and the change of the current consumer landscape. And well, as most people here said, it won't catch with a certain sector of the market for obvious reasons and the good-internet requirement flat out leave some of us completely uninspired on it lol xD

And MMX20, climate change is a fact, it's observed reality. Just so we're clear, climate change is not the same as global warming. Exactly what happens and why is more up to the people who research this to figure out. The planet has been warming up since the last ice age, that's a fact. There's increasingly more warm days and extreme weather, this is a fact. The north pole is melting, this is a fact. As you probably know, I live in Norway, which is pretty close to the north pole. In the city I live in, in average over the last 30 years, it's been one day less with snow. Yes, that's a full month with less snow in just 30 years. It's actually quite noticeable as a citizen in my city, and I remember well when I was young and there was a lot of snow each winter. We had like this one massive snow bank in the school yard. At some point there was two actually. We could dig all kinds of caves and stuff in it. Like fifty kids could be on it. Each year that snow bank got smaller and smaller. We also got ice bergs getting smaller or cracking off at points where they never have before, so much so that they won't recover next winter etc. This is just fact.

You don't think it getting hotter makes a difference in the climate?

And when people speak about it getting warmer each year, they're not talking about small variations each year, they're talking about trends over a long period of time. Next year might have a lot more rain and be far less hot, this wouldn't disprove it getting hotter. They're taking the average over several summers, and seeing the average grow.

Okay, so why is it happening? Well, there's actually quite many reasons for it. One you often hear about is related to CO2. It's just a fact that CO2 helps keep the earth warm, and this is good up to the point where it gets hotter than we want it to be.

As for how much we contribute to the heating, this is questionable, but it's a fact we've been releasing a lot of CO2 into the atmosphere that's been located below earth's surface for a long time, and this has extremely likely been contributing.

Does it matter if we're responsible? I don't think so. The problem still remains, climate change is a fact, and it's pretty clear the globe is getting hotter and hotter at the moment, which can have pretty bad outcomes for all of us. If the poles melt, yes, likely the ocean worldwide will rise a little bit, this can cause huge problems in certain parts of the world. This is however not the biggest issue IMO. The biggest issue is the extreme weather, we'll have more of it. It won't happen overnight, it will just continue to get worse over time, and we don't really see how this will change in any close future and it's currently just exponentially getting worse. A problem of the future is unfortunately climate immigrants.

While we may or may not be responsible, we know we don't like the current developments. It's therefore important that we do something about it now before it gets worse, as it's likely going to be points we cross where it's going to be much more difficult to make changes that will actually have the effect we want once we cross. And while we, the current living population, may be relatively safe from much of the outcome of the decisions on this topic we make today, future generations will likely bear the burden of it. I'm not particularly into the sins of your fathers stuff (that you're held responsible for what your parents etc did).

I know you think I'm like this left wing ideologue or something, but I'm not. In fact, I've yet to vote on any of the "left" parties in my country during any election, and most people think I'm some right-wing nut. I'm however not right-wing either. ;) I would never vote for the green party in my country. In fact, I want anything other than the green party (green and social justice), red party (marxism) and socialist left party (democratic socialism) to rule. I'm fine with labour (social democracy), left (liberal), center (agrarian), conservative (liberal conservative), christian democratic (christian democracy) and progress (conservative liberalism). Do notice that labour is social democracy while socialist left is democratic socialist, huge difference, not that I'd vote for labour when they usually team up with socialist left, and maybe even green and red! :P

I'm personally of the opinion that industrial change is where we have the most to gain. Particularly what we decide to invest into in the future. The way to go is to create incentives to make the "correct" choices, at the very least give companies a way to compete with the existing established industry in ways that we deem beneficial. Things like recycling is to a large degree inefficient for a variety or reasons and in some ways almost pointless. Many in the recycling industry will tell you they know this and some will tell you that recycling is more about making people think about the climate. Certain materials, like plastic, is definitely worth recycling and there is a huge problem of much of it end up in the sea etc. One of the big scams is how there actually exists various automatic recycling machines that will recycle better than what people in general do, and they're often not implemented, because they want people to recycle.

It's true that the mainstream media wants to hype up things to be bigger than they really are, but that doesn't mean everything they hype up is wrong, or everything they say is wrong. Some may do it for monetary gain, others for ideological, but that doesn't mean the facts they talk about is wrong. Often there's some opinion piece and spin on a story that exaggerates or infer way too much without good basis. They can even be mistaken about something in certain cases or get something wrong. It's good to be skeptical about what people tell you and what you read in the news etc. There are however ways to verify a lot of what is being told. Always good to go back to the source, usually the original article, read that and not all the spins based on it. You'll also want to do research of your own to check if what is being said is likely true or not.

In the case of global warming, you're just wrong. Global warming is what we call what we currently observe in nature.

      https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

I highly recommend you read what it says there. Great information, very unbiased and based in good research.

As for researchers being wrong or changing what they're saying over time. They're trying to describe, explain and predict based on the data they get. If the data changes or we learn new things, we understand more and is likely getting closer to the truth. Why is in many ways more important than what when you do science. What is just the result.

*looks up* That wall of text.  He's right though.  I mean, California alone has recorded about five straight years of record heatwaves.

But politics aside, we all have to be able to take criticism, or we'll never advance as individuals or a species as a whole.  They say the hardest thing in the world to do is to look inside yourself.

  14. It's time that I start losing weight! No more doing nothing while home from work or stuff! It's time I start doing 30 push ups and 30 sit ups a day to lose some weight! Wish me luck, guys! 💪

      Good luck! :)

You should be drinking some more water and add some vinegar in the food you eat to burn up the cholesterol in your body.

    3. ihadalifeb4this

      ihadalifeb4this

Sorry, but that alone will not do. You need to figure out what you like from exercise, but it will have to be 30 min at least 3 to 4 time a week. I don't know if you have any health issues, but 30 min walk few times a week should do you much more good than push ups. Any exercises under 20 min will not give you much benefits in the long run.

    4. ResoluteRock

      ResoluteRock

What @ihadalifeb4this said is true. It seems your intention is losing weight, so a walk every day for x amount of time will definitely help out. On top of that, doing it first thing in the morning while your body is still in a faster state will help out even more.

Again, I don’t recommend starting super hard and crazy because most people don’t stick with it because they get burnt out (hence why almost all New Year’s Resolutions fail). If you really want it though, such a massive action/change in your lifestyle CAN last. Most people just don’t have that inner drive, but if you really really want it, you can start intense. It can only help out in the long run! ;) If not, that’s okay too. Any progress is good progress, but make sure you continue to build up from where you’re at. Every day, try to do a few more pushups and sit-ups, then maybe get a gym membership. My point is, growth isn’t going to happen if you don’t push yourself to new limits. Going to the gym for the first time is definitely scary, but as long as you focus on yourself (because it is for you) and ignore everything else, it will become easier.

I used to be an absolute twig, and I felt anxious going into the gym because everybody is so big and muscular, but gradually I learned to just ignore what was happening around me. It’s definitely a skill you need to build, just saying you’ll do it isn’t the same thing unfortunately.

I believe in you though! If you’re ever feeling discouraged or need anything, feel free to shoot me a message! I’ve been there before (opposite end of the spectrum, I was really skinny) but I’ve built myself up to a decent weight over the past year, so I understand how hard it can be to start.

Forgot to add, food is REALLY important to achieving your weight goals. Working out is only half of the battle. What you do in the kitchen can be even more valuable than what you do in your workouts often times. It’s that balance of diet and exercise that is REALLY important, I learned that the hard way. I was working out 6 days a week but continued to eat less than 1500 calories a day, and then I was confused as to why I wasn’t putting on weight haha. In your case, make sure you’re making diet changes!

Try to think about eating as simply a job to help you achieve your goal. Every bite is somehow more satisfying when you know every bite brings you one step closer to building your ultimate RPG character: you! :P

  15. I heard about the abortion law being passed in Alabama. Normally, I don't give a hoot about politics, but when I learned that people that got... ya/ll know, won't be able to get their pregnancy aborted and doctors in Alabama will face jailtime if they do that, then I feel sorry for them. Well I know I would not want to live at a place where people vote for shit like this, directly or indirectly, not even mentioning that Alabamas reputation isn't the best even ignoring that major flaw. If just driving to a doctor outside of the state is not an option, guess the number of people who will take care of the problem themselves will skyrocket, with all the risks attached to it. Sad state of things for an area in a first world country, hope not too many people suffer from this stupidity.

So far so good. I managed to save up $100 dollars this May. If I can keep this up, I may able to buy a PS4 Pro before or during September. Depending if I don't spend some of the cash I get back at the grocery store. Hehehe. :^)

@Shinobi I'm in the same position. I've been doing this for 3 years and have saved up a lot... which will be handy when I finally decide to put a down payment on a house and move out of my apartment.

I also want a new TV, but will probably just wait until this one dies.

I just want money in my bank account that doesn't need to go to something like bills or food or gas or paying off debt...like at least $500. That would be nice.

@Beyondthegrave07 I want a house too, but haven't figured out where I will set down those roots yet. Unlikely where I currently live because I'd probably never be able to afford a decent house unless I won the lottery, involved/married someone already with a house, or really good job to afford a house.

  22. Yesterday, me and my dad went to Walmart on Thanksgiving and I got Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS and for my nephews, Lego Marvel Superheroes 2. But I can't play my new 3DS game until tomorrow and my nephews accidently broke the beach condo's PS4 while fighting over the controller and scratched the game I got them. ^^!

I at least got the TV. Lol. But yeah, they had caution tape up all over the place, trying to control the crowd.

Welcome back! I'm sure the friendly, nice users can outnumber the toxic ones. There are a few people on this forum that I despise, but as long as they're not too prominent I will not leave.

  24. Next week is Secret of Mana PS4! And I already pre-ordered it last year and got the PSN Avatars and DLC for it. So hyped since I never played Secret of Mana on the SNES years ago.

Are they adding any new quests or anything or mainly just a graphics and music facelift?
