About Me

What is there to say about myself? Not too much, really. I'm pretty boring when you think about it. In fact, you probably don't really care that I'm married, or that I have an associate degree in Radiologic Technology, which is just a fancy way to say I'm a registered X-Ray Technologist. No, you are here because of games. So let's talk about them!

I've been gaming ever since I can remember. I was probably 2 or 3 when I started playing on the original NES, and I haven't stopped since. I've owned the NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 XBox 360, Sega Game Gear, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy SP, and PS Vita. I was really too young to appreciate the game collection we had on the NES, and unfortunately it wasn't until I got my PS3 that I really ever built a decent collection of games for any particular system. I only ever owned 3-5 games for any given system, so I missed out on a very large selection of games in my life.

Trophies. The main reason we're all here. How did I get into trophy hunting. Well, I've always been competitive and would pick the strangest things to compete over. So when I got my PS3 and learned about trophies, I decided to make it a competition with my friend. He had roughly 500 or so trophies already, and I told him that within 6 months, I would surpass his count. He wasn't a trophy hunter at the time, but he couldn't back down from a challenge. The two of us began grabbing trophies anywhere we could. We didn't take the time to go after anything that took too long, or was really that difficult, instead choosing to grab a game from PS+ for easy trophies. 3 or 4 trophies here and there, and we moved on to other games. Platinums were never a concern for either of us. I just needed to catch up and pass him, and he just needed to hold his lead. About 4 or 5 months later, I passed him, and I've never looked back.

Once I had a healthy lead on him, and he realized that he just wasn't going to be able to keep up, I needed a new challenge. That was when we decided that we would both race to see who could get our first platinum trophy. He won that one, but barely. However, we were both hooked. So my new goal was not only to have more trophies than him, but to have more platinums than him. Which I achieved fairly quickly. At the time, I was single, unemployed, and not in school. He was in the military. Naturally, I had more time than he did, so I easily won.

Fast forward a few years, and I needed a new challenge. Not only was I comfortably leading both the platinum race and the overall trophy count, but I was enjoying a larger selection of games than I had ever had before. So, with nothing better to do, I began to compare my trophy list with all my friends. If we had any mutual games on our lists, I decided that my goal would be to match or surpass their overall percentage for that game. I've since expanded that to include one more goal. Now I am setting out to match or surpass the average percentage of each game based on the numbers here at PSNP, or the numbers obtained by my friends, whichever is higher. That is a goal which I am currently working on, and thanks to my time at the beginning of my trophy hunting days, it is a long and annoying task at times trying to go back and raise those little 1-10% games from PS+ that I left behind in my quest to get as many trophies as I could, as quickly as I could.

That's basically it for now. Hopefully I can think of more to add, and probably come back and try to format this a little better, but until then, I hope this wasn't too much of an annoyance for you to read. If there's anything else you would like to see added here, or if you have any questions you'd like to ask, just send a message my way, and I'll see what I can do!
