I'll second the Yoshi recommendation. I've only completed the first level, but I was quite pleased at how well made the game is.

Good luck to everyone this month

And that's a wrap! I'd like to thank @eigen-space for hosting the event, as well as @gruffiiti and @BigHonkingOne for their involvement. Good luck to everyone still not yet finished 🙂

I've enjoyed reading everyone's posts here about their progress with their games. Good luck to everyone this month

A decrease from 6 free games per month to 2 games and This is for the players? Yeah right, more like this is for the share holders...
-
The reason I joined this event is because like the OP, I have a real problem with buying too many games. When I look at my collection, it's a bit sad to see so many good games there that haven't even been started.
-
I've been editing my original post and updating my stats as necessary. It's good to see many of you making progress 🙂
-
I just finished my first game of the event, Hidden Agenda in the Peripheral category. Better than expected.

What a fantastic idea! I have followed this thread for a while and since we are now in the new year of 2019, I'd like to formally sign up and clear up some of this backlog. My gaming goal for 2019 is to complete more games than i buy. I'm looking forward to being a part of things here.

Hey everyone, New Year is fast approaching here in the west of Oz, however I know those of you living in the future have already had a taste of 2019. I'm probably going to finish out 2018 watching some Netflix or something. Wishing you all a safe and happy 2019. Hopefully we'll see each other soon for a new event.

Australian Trophy League 2018 Questionnaire Hi everyone. As many of you may remember, last year I did a questionnaire to get a bit of feedback for season 2 of our annual event, as well as providing a chance for people to share a bit about themselves and what they enjoyed. Feel free to answer the questions and be as descriptive as you like, these things can help to shape future seasons, such as the implementation of scoring for the Fame/Shame event. I'd like to see everyone participate, but it's entirely up to you. I'll put my answers next to the questions and you can edit mine out and post yours instead in your replies. Even if you only answer a few questions from one section. Always interested to see what you all think. SECTION 1: 1: What is your favourite game that you played and was released in 2018? That's an easy one, the Spyro Trilogy. I will give a special mention to Assassin's Creed: Odyssey and to Far Cry 5 though, only missing out because of the nostalgia Spyro brought me. 2: What is your favourite game that you played and was released before 2018? It's hands down, The Witcher 3. Nothing else came close. Do yourselves a favour, it's one of the most in depth fantasy RPG games I've ever played. 3: What is your favourite PlayStation Plus game of 2018? I didn't play very many PS Plus games this year so instead I'll nominate which I thought was the best game offered to us. My pick is Bloodborne, although God Of War 3 Remastered makes a close second. I'm very keen to play SOMA next month too. 4: What is your proudest Platinum that you earned in 2018? This is a tough one because I did a couple I'm very proud of. I think I'll have to go with Final Fantasy XIV, purely based on the 6 months of preparation it took to put myself in a position to get the platinum within a one month subscription period. 5: Which game do you consider to be the most over rated game that released in 2018? I think I've complained to enough people here that it won't be a surprise. God Of War. 6: Which platinum trophy pushed you the hardest this year? Again, Final Fantasy XIV, for the reason listed above. 7: Which trophy (excluding platinums) was your most frustrating trophy this year? It's The Final Showd0wn (SILVER) in Watch Dogs 2. You have to win 4 consecutive online co-op missions to unlock this trophy. I've been trying infrequently throughout the year to get this one but I kept getting matched up with team mates who were AFK. The method where you quit out to the XMB and re-enter the game method still works to those who are interested. A special mention goes to Chooser Of The Slain (GOLD) in God Of War. That Valkyrie Queen is in a category of her own. Nasty difficult bitch she was. 8: What is your most anticipated PlayStation game for 2019? There's a few. At number one would be Days Gone. I'm also looking forward to Ghosts Of Tsushima and Death Stranding. 9: What is the last game you bought for: PS4: I bought Storm Boy last night. I read the book and watched the movie at school, may as well make the trifecta. PS3: Yakuza 3. I had to get one of the 2 remaining copies on Australia posted from an EB Games store in Queensland. PSV: FullBlast. Gotta love them quick plats! PSVR: I owned a VR system for a grand total of one day this year. It came with VR Worlds, GT Sport and Skyrim VR. After a bit of racing in GT Sport, I felt very ill and had to take it off. I'm thankful for EB's 7 day return policy. 10: What would be your Top 10 recommended games that you've played this year (they must be PlayStation games and they can have been released at any time, as long as you played it in 2018) Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Assassin's Creed: Odyssey Demon's Souls Detroit: Become Human Far Cry 5 Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice No Man's Sky Spyro Trilogy The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt GOTY Now I would like to move on to some questions about the ATL. I think Season 3 absolutely creamed has been an improvement on Season 1 and 2, especially with getting the results within a day, well done @adam1984123 and I would like to see that continue next year. I have a few quick questions here before we get to the final section. Feel free to elaborate a bit here if you need to, a detailed response is far more helpful to work with than yes or no. As corporate as this sounds, this information really does help to improve the event. SECTION 2: 1: What was your favourite part of the ATL? The atmosphere of the event and the competition that everybody brought to it. Also enjoyed playing co-op with fellow entrants. 2: What was your least favourite part of the ATL? My score multiplier. 3: What is your opinion on the scoring systems for your End Of Month Result? I can't really fault the scoring. There is something there for everyone and @adam1984123 really covered the bases in making sure that everyone had a chance of winning, whether you like to smash out a dozen platinums a week, or take your time notching up the Ultra Rares. I do think that considering there are 3 categories, 2 of which the lower ranked players (on the Australian leaderboard that is) can quite easily dominate, with Fame and Shame and Backlogs. My only gripe with the multiplier is that it can be exploited. Let's say I want to win in 2020. All I have to do to win the monthly category is tank hard in 2019, ensuring that my multiplier in 2020 is adjusted to reflect my poor results. I'm not saying it's a bad scoring system and I can certainly see the logic behind the fairness. I would be interested to see what would happen next year with no multiplier in play perhaps. 4: What is your opinion on the scoring systems for your Bonus Categories? Pretty good actually, I'm glad that my Fame and Shame feature from Season 2 has proven to be popular with people. 5: What is your opinion on the scoring systems for Backlog Games? Backlog should always be a strong scoring category and it is good to see it as a prominent feature, even if I constantly avoid it myself. 6: How do you feel about the Backlog Game setup (10 games across any PlayStation format)? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 7: How would you want to see the Backlog Game setup run differently (if at all)? See above Thank you everybody for your input and for being a part of the ATL, have a Merry Christmas and a fantastic New Year. I look forward to seeing you then.

As promised, I'll post the completion rates. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced my stats collection I took for everybody coming into Season 3 here so I won't be able to compare you to your completion rates as of the 1st of March. Instead, I'll compare your progress based on the stats above (taken on the 28th of May): @adam1984123 74.95% - 80.94% HIGHER @AuzzieWingman 44.38% - 45.05% HIGHER @Crestfallen 91.20% - 96.62% HIGHER @damage_6-9 37.13% - 45.93% HIGHER @Demon--Prototype 79.83% - 99.01% HIGHER (Tank much?) @Dessane 60.58% - 68.19% (not including hidden trophies) HIGHER @Ethan 69.35% - 75.22% HIGHER @Feral 51.82% - 54.40% (not including hidden trophies) HIGHER @fisty123 83.84% - 85.90% HIGHER @Gibbo_0113 96.41% - 96.12% LOWER @Hampy64 60.08% - 64.29% HIGHER @MattyH16 80.93% - 85.96% HIGHER @readytofuky 57.00% - 65.09% HIGHER @simpgraus 55.77% - 57.17% (not including hidden trophies) HIGHER @spazza136 44.48% - 44.86% HIGHER Again, I am very surprised to see that the completion rates for everyone have increased again! Except for Gibbo, who has decreased again. Perhaps buying a few DLC expansions for some outstanding platinums that require 100% would rectify this. Gotta wait for them sales though. I'll continue to keep an eye. Well done to everybody. If this proves to be a popular feature, I may do this again next season.

FINAL SEASON 3 UPDATE: BACKLOG GAMES STATS: (PS4) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 61/61 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Broken Age - 45/45 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Final Fantasy XIV - 39/39 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Just Cause 3 - 18/67 (18%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots - 0/34 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - 0/50 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS4) Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - 0/43 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Thief - 32/38 (74%) INCOMPLETE Well, here we are at the end. I'll keep it short as there are far more interesting stats about to come up for everybody. Firstly, congratulations and thank you to everyone who participated this year. I know things started out shaky with the event migration, however under the capable hands of @adam1984123 we managed just fine. Special thanks to @adam1984123, @Demon--Prototype, @Ethan, @Knightmare_1985 and @readytofuky for all the co-op and party chat shenanigans, always a blast with you guys. One more round of thanks to @adam1984123, @damage_6-9, @fisty123, @Gibbo_0113 and @Knightmare_1985 for your generous prize donations. Sadly, I relinquish my 3rd place streak this year. This yearly event of ours sees stronger participants joining as well as some from the previous seasons stepping up their game. I could have prepared better but I'm not taking anything away from the podium placements, you guys won fair and square as per the rules. Nevertheless, I'll be back next year, ready to go as always. As for my personal goals, I think I did pretty well. I couldn't quite get my unearned count down (thanks AC Odyssey) but it's something I'll keep working on. I haven't forgotten about the completion rate stats for everyone either, I'm about to check those and provide them for you all. I'll also be doing a questionnaire similar to the one I did last year. Happy hunting

May as well post my Black Friday purchases as well. Both from Amazon: Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition - $33 Monster Hunter World - $24.95 As Adam mentioned, there'll be a decent resale value down the track. I'd be interested to know who else bought what.

HALF-TIME MONTHLY UPDATE: BACKLOG GAMES STATS: (PS4) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 61/61 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Broken Age - 45/45 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Final Fantasy XIV - 39/39 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Just Cause 3 - 18/67 (18%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots - 0/34 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - 0/50 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS4) Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - 0/43 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Thief - 32/38 (74%) INCOMPLETE Here we are again with another update. I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that I may have overestimated my power when it came to the competition challenges I set myself. After 2 years of placing 3rd in these all Australian events, I fear my reign has come to end. But no matter, I'll be back next year and hopefully be better prepared for the excellent competition you have all provided. Unfortunately, any plans I had to finish a backlog game or have another platinum blitz were canned when Square Enix decided to pull that stunt in regards to Final Fantasy XV. There's a few theories flying around, but the general idea seems to be that the Comrades multiplayer facet in-game is getting closed and a stand-alone is being released in December. Not being 100% sure if the trophies will still be obtainable or not in a month's time, I stopped everything and have worked on them since. Anyone else who has the game and wants to get the multiplayer out of the way might consider doing the same. Don't be put off by the 50-60 hour playtime recommendation, I've finished all but one trophy and came in at under 30 hours total. I'd like to thank @Demon--Prototype for playing alongside me and for doing the research required to halve the total playtime for us both. I managed to notch up the platinum for Livelock as well, a co-op intended game that sadly plays far better in single player. Nevertheless, a great couple of sessions with @Knightmare_1985 and @Demon--Prototype saw to us all getting the platinum. Always a pleasure to game with the lads. As we near the final leg of the event, I'd like to thank @adam1984123 for hosting this, when our previous event closed down. I'm glad that most of the GATH veterans came across to the ATL, as well as a few new faces. A special thanks to those who donated prizes to the event, your generosity is very much appreciated. I may have one final wrap up at the end of this years event. I'm very hopeful that we continue on next year in some way. As always, good luck to all this month

Just thought I'd share the fact that for the first time ever, I've hit 100 Platinums earned for the year. Battlefield 4 was my #229th, earned last year on 31st of December. I'm actually hoping I can make it to #350 by the end of the year which will be a big ask as I'm considering doing Final Fantasy XIII but we'll see. Anyways, that's my good news 🙂
-
I'd like to congratulate @Knightmare_1985 on hitting Level 100 for trophies. I've always enjoyed watching every one of you hitting a milestone, or getting the platinum on something you've worked hard on and this is no different. A monumental effort for sure, well done mate 🙂
-
I agree, it's been fantastic to see. Congratulations to @Demon--Prototype and @CrestfallenV on completing your backlogs this year, it's been a pleasure to watch you both get there 🙂
-
ConPLATulations are in order. Well done mate I didn't think anyone would actually claim the prize put up by @Gibbo_0113 I must get around to finishing FF XIII myself. I have to start from scratch though 😒 Congrats to you as well. It came down to the final game though, you should be proud of your efforts. I look forward to watching you two backlog juggernauts facing off again next year!

HALF-TIME MONTHLY UPDATE: BACKLOG GAMES STATS: (PS4) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 61/61 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Broken Age - 45/45 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Final Fantasy XIV - 39/39 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Just Cause 3 - 5/67 (4%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots - 0/34 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - 0/50 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS4) Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - 0/43 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Thief - 32/38 (74%) INCOMPLETE Here we are (finally) with another monthly update. My apologies for being AWOL last month, I was trying to be sneaky and win one of the challenges put forth by @Knightmare_1985and I knew I'd end up mentioning what I was working on here. Sadly, I didn't anticipate Thief being a little bitch, not unlocking the Hidden Areas trophy, as well as @CrestfallenVbeing the Backlog King we all know him for. I did manage to complete Broken Age though, glad to get that done, but highly NOT recommended. It looks better than it actually is. I would have completed Thief if the damned trophy unlocked when it should have so it looks like I'll be doing 3 playthroughs now as there is no way of tracking progress for that trophy. Square Enix, you got me again... No platinums yet this month, the lure of exploring the Greek Islands in Assassin's Creed Odyssey proved far too tempting for me. I got the Medusa Edition so that I could play it a few days early and also for the statue. FUN FACT: I've collected every statue from Assassin's Creed that has been bundled with the Collector's Editions that come out at launch. Odyssey is a fantastic game that improves on AC Origins in almost every way. I think my current playtime is pretty close to the 90 hour mark and I still have plenty left to do, especially if I want to complete each area and objective. I'm hoping to finish this week. I'm as keen as can be for the launch of Spyro next month. I used to no life those games as a kid and even return to them over the years. I am really excited to play them again! Fallout 76 is looking good as well, can't think of much else I want this year. Good luck to all this month

I've done it. I've finally done it! After 5 weeks of chipping away, I've at last notched up my #300th platinum with The Witcher 3. A great deal of fun with an excellent story and characters you actually care about (except Yennefer). An incredible game, a must play and a worthy milestone. I'm really proud of it and wanted to share it here 😊 @adam1984123 Might try to finish off No Man's Sky next, only 2 trophies remaining there. @Knightmare_1985 very generous of you, always love seeing people get behind and support the event!

Sign me up please! Platinum #300 - The Witcher 3: Game Of The Year Edition (The Limits Of The Possible)

Thank you to all for the birthday wishes. Did all right today, the wife got me L.A. Noire on PS4, my folks got me a decent gaming headset and I got a bit of cash to spend on a game. I'm considering getting We Happy Few. Hoping for a sale soon, then I can get 2 games for the price of 1!

HALF-TIME MONTHLY UPDATE: BACKLOG GAMES STATS: (PS4) Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag - 61/61 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Broken Age - 0/45 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS4) Final Fantasy XIV - 39/39 (100%) COMPLETE (PS4) Just Cause 3 - 5/67 (4%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - 0/46 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots - 0/34 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - 0/50 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS4) Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain - 0/43 (0%) INCOMPLETE (PS3) Thief - 1/38 (1%) INCOMPLETE Here we are with another half time update and how different it is compared to July, where I was pleased to record a personal best of 30 platinums in a month! Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case so far for August, with my platinum count still on 0 (Thanks a lot Witcher 3...), however I'm pleased to say that so far, The Witcher 3 has been everything I'd hoped it would be and then some. I don't want to ruin anything for those who haven't played it yet so just briefly, I've completed the main story in the main game and I'm working on the main story in the Blood & Wine expansion. Other devs/publishers should take note, THIS is how you do DLC. The Witcher 3 deserves all the praise that comes its way. I've been slowly chipping away at Black Ops 3 still with @adam1984123 and @readytofuky, we'd probably be finished the main story by now if I hadn't been so firmly hooked on Witcher 3. I'm getting there guys, I should almost definitely be done before the end of the month. It has been interesting to see a few people kick it up into a higher gear lately, especially @damage_6-9, making the rest of us look slack! I have mixed feelings when I say congrats to @Demon--Prototypefor overtaking me on the overall AU leaderboard (The REAL Leaderboard 😆). Keep it up mate, it's incredible to see someone rise so high by playing on only one format. On a final note, Happy Birthday to me 🎂🎂. No birthday platinum this year sadly, but should still be a good day. Might even end up with a game or 3 by the days end. Keep up the trophies guys, good luck to you all
