  1. These are the latest games I've picked up. Got them all pretty cheap.
  2. If there's a situation where you have 2 heart decisions, you can safely pick one of those and it won't void the trophy for picking head decisions when possible and vice versa. I can confirm because I did that myself. When you bring up the pause menu, it should say you've only picked one type of decision on the right side of the screen. If that's not there then you won't get the trophy. I checked regularly just to make sure. Also, if you're attempting this via the chapter select, make sure you overwrite the save. Other than that, I don't know what to suggest.
  3. Oh yeah, I forgot to update this a few weeks back when I got the Star Ocean: The Last Hope International platinum. Definitely the most daunting game from my list! 😅 The next PS3 game I'm thinking of playing is The Saboteur. This is how things look now anyway.
  4. #337 - The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope There Is Hope Collect all Trophies I've been looking forward to this one ever since Man of Medan came out. Unlike a lot of people, I really enjoyed that one. Little Hope is even better! I'll be vague to avoid spoilers, but let's just say it was very Silent Hill-esque which is a very good thing as far as I'm concerned. It was fun trying to piece together the mystery and I found the conclusion to be more satisfying than the previous game. These bite-sized horror games are a really neat idea and I'm already looking forward to the next one. Thanks to @Redgrave for playing with me. Always a pleasure.
  5. #336 - Far Cry 5 We Always Had Faith In You Obtain all the Trophies. After being thoroughly disappointed with Far Cry 4 for being a bad imitation of Far Cry 3, I essentially lost interest in the series and didn't pay much attention to this game because I figured it was just more of the same. That only changed recently when I heard somebody I trust talk positively about it, and I figured it was worth a shot since the game is pretty cheap when on sale these days. I'm really glad I went through with that because I ended up loving this game. I was hooked right from the opening sequence - it was incredibly well done. I found this game's story, setting, and main antagonist to be very compelling. Joseph Seed is right up there with Vaas as far as I'm concerned. His performance was excellent and I found myself captivated whenever he was speaking. The gameplay was nothing new, it just had a few of the more tedious elements from the previous games be less of a focus or removed entirely. The carrot on the end of the stick for me was being able to watch the next story scene and it was worth putting up with the somewhat bland gameplay (it was fine). Getting the platinum/100% was quite a pleasant experience. Nothing I'd really call frustrating, it was just a matter of going down the checklist. A lot of trophies to get but they popped at a pretty reasonable rate. Thanks to @Redgrave for playing the DLC with me and helping out with the Infamous difficulty trophy. But yeah, I guess Ubisoft are still capable of making good games after all. I'll probably wait on playing Far Cry 6 but I look forward to playing that one at some point. I hope it lives up to this one and Far Cry 3.
  6. My Trails of Cold Steel 4 collector's edition finally arrived today. 😁
  7. Just pre-ordered the bundle with both games myself. Glad I held off buying the PS4 version now. Play-Asia and EastAsiaSoft really are a blessing with how they continue to provide us Vita fans in the west with new physical releases. I also have Root Double and Kawaii Deathu Desu pre-ordered from them too.
  8. So after getting distracted by Star Ocean: The Last Hope for most of this year, I'm finally at the point now where I'm about ready to dive into Judgement, maybe as soon as next week. It's been a while since I've played one of these games, and I don't know much about Judgement, so I'm really excited to see what it's all about! 😁 I know Yakuza 7 recently came out, but I'm holding off for the PS5 version of that game which comes out in March of next year. I know I could just buy the PS4 version and get the free upgrade when the time comes, but I'd like to give Yakuza 7 the honour of being one of the first physical PS5 games I own. And no, I don't actually have a PS5 yet, but a lot can change in 4 months. 😛
  9. I wouldn't really consider myself to be a fan of the Bond franchise, but IO Interactive being behind this game has me interested. I feel like could do some really cool stuff with it given how well the recent Hitman games turned out. I'll definitely keep my eye on this one.
  10. #334 - Celeste Heartbeat Unlock every trophy I saw this went on sale recently and I figured I'd give it a go considering all the praise the game has gotten. I can certainly see what the game was trying to do with the story and what not, but it didn't really resonate with me. It was... fine. What's left is a solid platformer with some insanely difficult sections. However, the developer made the incredibly strange decision to allow you to pop trophies with cheats enabled though, so it can be as easy as you want it to be. Certainly beats raging at some of the sections for hours on end. #335 - Alien: Isolation Alien: Isolation Unlocked every Alien: Isolation trophy I've always heard good things about the game, but I dismissed it for a few reasons. Firstly, I'm more into the horror games where you can fight back, and I thought this was more of a Outlast type of game where you're forced to run away and hide from all the threats (not actually the case). I'm also not very familiar with the Alien series in general, so I wasn't sure how much I'd get out of it, but that changed recently when I decided to watch the first Alien movie (and it was fantastic btw). Having now beat this game from start to finish and earned all the trophies, I feel like such a fool for putting it off for so long. This is genuinely one of the greatest horror games I've had the pleasure of playing! Now I thought Mr. X from the Resident Evil 2 remake was terrifying (and he is), but the Xenomorph in this game really takes things to the next level. The fact that you can hear it crawling around in the vents above you and it could drop down at any moment filled me with such dread. There were plenty of moments where I'd be caught off guard and would quickly hide somewhere and all I could do was stare wide-eyed as this huge creature passed me by or killed other humans in the near vicinity just hoping I wouldn't be next. Now there are horror games that can get me to jump, but it's been a long time since I felt genuine horror like this. It was amazing! 😅 Apart from the Alien itself, the gameplay was pretty solid. You acquire an array of different weapons over the course of the game that help you deal with the threats, but stealth is pretty much always the best option. The flamethrower was invaluable since it can save you from certain death from the Xenomorph. There's also a crafting system that encourages you to look around for parts and use them to build bombs, noisemaker's, etc. One of my favourite things to do was to throw a noisemaker into a crowd of humans to lure the Alien there to let it do the work for me. 😆 There are a few tough trophies in the game like not dying and beating it on hard mode, but thankfully there's a great walkthrough on this site that really helped with the tougher sections. I had a great time with the game overall - this will definitely be an experience I look back on fondly for years to come. Now that I've beaten this game, I'll have to watch the Aliens movie for sure.
  11. I tried looking, but I didn't see a thread for this one. This was one of my personal highlights from the PS5 reveal event. I love the concept! Did anyone else think it looked cool? https://www.gematsu.com/2020/06/deathloop-coming-to-ps5-pc-this-holiday And here are some more details, via the PlayStation Blog:
  12. What is the purpose of this thread? If you're anything like me, I want to know if a game has been censored in some way before I buy it so I can make an informed purchasing decision about whether or not it's a product worth supporting. I think this is especially important in a time when Sony have implemented a censorship policy that aggressively targets Japanese developed games that don't meet their western standards (the PlayStation HQ is located in California). I've created this thread in order to compile a list of these censored games with information on how they've been changed, be it for political reasons, demands made by the platform holder, etc. When possible, I will include alternate ways of buying/playing versions of these games that haven't been affected by censorship. I will do my best to keep the thread updated with information I come across, but I'll also be counting on you guys to help out because some things might slip under my radar. The idea is that you'll be able to look through this opening post to find both older games and upcoming ones to see if and how it has been affected. If you're on PC and don't want to look through the entire post, you can use CTRL + F to bring up a search box and type the name of the game you're looking for to see if it has been mentioned. Will all examples of censorship be included on this list? Ideally it would, but video game censorship is very common in places like the Middle East, China, etc, and it's practically impossible for me to know about every example that happens across the globe. I will add examples that are brought to my attention, but I want this thread to primarily focus on the information that will be relevant to the mostly Western English-speaking visitors of this site. Also, there might be times where something is brought to my attention either via this thread or through PM's and it's not entirely clear if it's actually censorship. When this happens, I will make a decision about whether or not to put it on the list at the time, but I will give others the opportunity to voice their opinions on the matter if they happen to be more knowledgeable than me on the subject. Why not include other consoles/handhelds in this list? First and foremost, I wanted to create a thread that would be relevant to the people who visit this site. While it would be interesting to list historical examples of censorship in games or the censorship that goes on elsewhere, it wouldn't really help in the purpose I stated above of informing people before they make a purchase. Secondly, the PS5, PS4, and Vita are all platforms that have been affected by Sony's Censorship Policy which was introduced back in 2018. That censorship policy was the impetus behind creating this thread, and thus, the focus should be on Sony platforms. How do I contribute to this list? It's simple really. Just put the name of the game in your post along with some form of proof. Assuming the developers haven't made a statement regarding the censorship themselves, other examples of "proof" would be something like an article/forum post/YouTube video that details the censorship in question (screenshot comparisons, translation differences, etc). So long as what you've posted will be able to inform somebody not familiar with the game about the changes, that will be fine. The more information you can provide the better. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2013 The Walking Dead Season 1 (PS4/Vita) - Toned down gore Source: Censored Gaming Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU The Walking Dead Season 2 (PS4/Vita) - Toned down gore Source: Censored Gaming Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU 2014 The Last of Us Remastered (PS4) - Dismemberment is removed from multiplayer (Europe), gore toned down and cutscene camera angle changed (Japan) Source: Censored Gaming Region: EU, JP Uncensored Alternative: NA South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS4) - Entire scenes blocked out, described instead of shown Source: Censored Gaming Region: EU, AU Uncensored Alternative: NA (all platforms), PC Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (PS4) - Toned down gore Source: Censored Gaming Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Monster Monpiece (Vita) - Replaced card images with "less exposed" versions Source: Siliconera Region: NA, EU Uncensored Alternative: JP, PC 2015 Criminal Girls: Invite Only (Vita) - Removed dialogue during Motivation scenes and girls covered with fog, banned in New Zealand Source: Niche Gamer | Wikipedia's List of Banned Video Games Region: NA, EU Uncensored Alternative: JP, PC (via modding) The Order 1886 (PS4) - Nudity removed Source: Movie-Censorship Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PS4) - Removed/toned down some revealing outfits Source: GameFAQs | PSP Video Region: Worldwide Uncensored Alternative: Original PSP game The Witcher 3 (PS4) - Removed nudity Source: TechRaptor Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number (PS4/Vita) - Outright banned in Australia Source: Refused-Classification Region: Australia Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Saints Row IV: Re-elected (PS4) - Mission cut and blur filter applied to "Rectifier" weapon in Australia, outright banned in Saudi Arabia Source: Movie-Censorship | Eurogamer | VGR Region: Australia, Saudi Arabia Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Dungeon Travelers 2 (Vita) - Toned down "sexualised" CG images Source: Rice Digital | Screenshot Comparisons Region: NA, EU Uncensored Alternative: JP Until Dawn (PS4) - Toned down gore Source: CinemaBlend Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PS4) - Toned down gore Source: Censored Gaming Region: JP Uncensored Alternative: NA, EU Yu-Gi-Oh! 13. #333 - Star Ocean: The Last Hope International STAR OCEAN® THE LAST HOPE® -INTERNATIONAL- Platinum Trophy Congratulations! You've collected every last STAR OCEAN® THE LAST HOPE® -INTERNATIONAL- trophy! So *technically* this plat took me 5 years and 3 months to earn, but that's only because of the false start I had in this game a long time ago when I was woefully unprepared for what had to be done. I didn't make it very far into the game back then. I only truly began this platinum journey back in April of this year, and I've been slowly but surely working at it for the past 7 months. It has very much become a part of my daily routine at this point and it's strange to think that it's all over now. It hasn't quite dawned on me yet... I suppose now would be a good opportunity to bring up the in-game hours I put in going off my save files (rounded up/down to the nearest hour). Playthrough #1: 535 hours (the vast majority of the BT's were acquired here) Playthrough #2: 114 hours (the goal of this playthrough was to acquire Faize's BT's and farm Edge's 30k kill BT) Playthrough #3: 12 hours (purely focused on getting through Universe difficulty) Playthrough #4: 13 hours (purely focused on getting through Chaos difficulty) Total: 674 hours I think I can safely say this is the longest platinum I've ever earned. 😝 Now of course that total isn't completely accurate since there were times where I needed to step away from the game, reload a save, game crashes, etc, but I can't imagine it's too far off. This platinum is quite the beast, no two ways about it. I talked myself out of going for this plat for the longest time. I used to think it would have been a giant waste of time and instead just opted to play a bunch of other games in its place. Well, something just clicked with me earlier this year as I was coming to the end of my PS3 backlog, and I decided to give the game another shot. I hadn't even decided to plat the game at first, but that soon changed once I started getting further into it. This is just a fantastic JRPG, far better than I expected it to be. I really got into the story and took a liking to the characters (Japanese dub of course, not the awful English one). The combat is a blast too! After coming to the realisation of just how much I liked the game, I knew the platinum had to be mine. I always imagined the journey for this platinum would be this grueling experience I would hate from start to finish, but it wasn't like that at all. The only part I found frustrating were the crashes, but thankfully those were limited to the 2 post-game dungeons. It was incredibly nerve-wracking whenever I had to go fight the Ethereal Queen since the trek there takes a good 4 or 5 hours without any save points. It always sucked to lose progress through no fault of my own, but it wasn't the end of the world. Even the game's "most difficult" BT which has been known to make people rage didn't seem that bad to me, but I suppose getting it on the first try is what makes me feel that way. 😛 But yeah, I found the rest of the plat to be pretty chill. It was pretty comforting to know that I could come home from a day of work and just fire up some grind in SO4 while I listen to podcasts or watch YouTube videos. Time well spent as far as I'm concerned. 😁 So yeah, I guess that's pretty much everything I wanted to say. This is definitely one of my proudest plats to date and it immediately went in the old trophy cabinet once it popped. 😄 I'm really looking forward to playing Star Ocean: Till The End Of Time and Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness at some point, but for now, I guess I better find something else to fill the void this game has left me with. 😝

Outstanding achievement my friend. Congrats on defeating this beast of a game. :D

Finally, all those hours you invested in it paid off and you were able to obtain the Platinum. I'm also glad that you enjoyed your time with the game. I've seen plenty of Star Ocean fans diss on this entry in the series and, well, even though it's the only SO game I've played in the franchise, I had a phenomenal time with it back when I played it. It really is a great experience overall. Interesting story, it has a charming cast of characters (*cough*thereisacatgirl*cough*), and the combat system is superfluid and engaging all the way through.

Now, tackling the challenge this Platinum represents it's not something just about anyone can do. It's not only a massive time-sink but a difficult game as well, yet you managed to persevere through it and add this mighty Platinum to your trophy cabinet. Keep it there. It definitely deserves a shining spot in anyone's cabinet to display.

Seeing that you were able to go for this one and obtain it... Damn... It really makes me want to go ahead and do the same. Reading your words and your experience with it really pumps me up to go back to this splendid title and maybe earn the Platinum on it as well. After all, I enjoyed it a lot and it'd be fitting if I went for the Platinum on it too. Not this year, though. Early next year, I'm going to set a bit of time aside to see if I can go and get this one. You've truly motivated me to go for this one as well. :)

@Honor_Hand Thank you! It makes me happy to hear that I've motivated you to go for the platinum yourself. I know you can do it! 😁 And yeah, I remember people talked down to this game a lot which is why I found it so surprising when it turned out to be as good as it is. I'm hoping that will also be the case with Integrity and Faithlessness. Also, I just want to say that I appreciate how you've taken the time to reply to my status updates on the game with words of encouragement. 🙂

@Undead Wolf Certainly. Integrity and Faithlessness also has gotten a fair amount of bad rep out there, but I can't help but wonder if it's the same thing as it was with The Last Hope. I'm eager to try that one as well despite the bad reception out there.

Hehe, no problem. Always here to provide words of encouragement and support for a friend, especially if he was undertaking such an amazing challenge. :)

  15. [Star Ocean: The Last Hope International] Today is a big day for me because I just got the trophy for obtaining 100% of the BT's. All 900 of them. This is the goal I've been working towards for all these months and I finally got it. During the grind for the last BT, I was getting this kind of anxious feeling in the pit of my stomach, I guess because it dawned on me that as soon as it popped, this chapter of the SO4 plat journey would be over. I really wanted to capture the moment, so when it happened, I grabbed my phone and hastily took a picture while the trophy notification was still on screen. You'll have to excuse the poor quality. 😅

    hNwN6BD.jpg

That brings my second playthrough of the game to a close, with this one taking a modest 114 hours (55 hours of which was spent away from the game as my turbo controller farmed 30k kills). Now I don't want to get *too* far ahead of myself because I still need to complete the game two more times on the harder difficulties, but with no BT's to distract me, I should be able to get through them fairly quickly. I'm hoping to pop the platinum within the next 7 days. This is the final stretch! 😁

That's it, you're almost done with this one, Undead Wolf. That's the one major hurdle for this game's Platinum out of the way. I remember boss battles taking their time even on the Normal difficulty, but I don't think they're going to be much of a challenge on the harder difficulties.

You've got this. We'll be cheering for you when you get this super-coveted and ultra-rare Platinum. :D

  16. I love the new bit of artwork for the collection. It was a nice teaser trailer. Looking forward to playing this, especially the first game since that one stands the most to gain from improved textures and what not (plus it's my favourite of the trilogy).
  17. My expectations are rock bottom. I have no faith in Bioware anymore even if this is supposedly being handled by a "veteran team".
  18. Ah, that's probably why then. And sure, you can access Live Chat from this link: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/get-help/#!/ You have to select an issue first and not all of them lead to the option of contacting Live Chat. You don't have to be accurate when selecting the issue though, so this is how I did it. PlayStation 4 > PlayStation Store & Transactions > Voucher Codes > How to redeem a voucher code. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find the 'Need to Contact Us?' section I showed in the image above. If there's an easier way to access Live Chat then I don't know about it. Works for me though. 😛
  19. I did it through the Live Chat. I didn't have an issue with being blocked, so I don't really know what to suggest other than making sure you're trying during the opening hours. I guess you could always try calling them as well.
  20. After watching that UI video Sony put out a few weeks back, I didn't see how themes could really be a thing on PS5 with the way the background image and songs would change just by hovering over them in the menu (on PS4 you actually had to go down to get more details for this to occur). I liked PS4 themes, but it's not something I'll really miss.
  21. Glad to see we finally have access to this stat. No reason we couldn't have had this feature on PS4 as well since they were clearly tracking time played in PS4 games, but whatever. This will be nice to have going forward.
  22. It's super lame that Konami stepped in to make P.T. unplayable on PS5. I'm sure they would love people to forget it ever existed. Not gonna happen though.
  23. Got these two for a decent price.
  24. I'm in the UK. I didn't get the email, but they credited the avatars and themes to me when I contacted PlayStation Support. I would only recommend contacting them 2 weeks after you pop the platinum though. They want you to wait that long in case you get the email and it's better to claim all of the rewards at once.
  25. #332 - Dying Light We’ll talk about it next time I see you Get all game trophies I had heard good things about this game but I only just got around to playing it now. It's from the developers who made the original Dead Island, and I've got to say, this is a big step up from that one. The really stand out thing to me about this game are the parkour mechanics. It's so much fun running/climbing around the city, and later on you even unlock a grapple. I was pretty invested in the story - there were some great moments. You get even more of it in The Following DLC which was nice, as was the new driving mechanic. The Bozak Horde DLC kind of sucked, especially with the glitches I encountered there, but it was still an excellent experience overall and I'm looking forward to the sequel whenever that comes out. Oh, and thanks to my co-op buddy @Redgrave for playing with me! 😁
