Popular Post gruffiiti
Monday update (a day late ) Update and recap of the past week.. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Finished this game off this past week and its been ages since I can say Ive played a good Star Wars game. There was a lot to like about this game but what really shined for me was the light saber combat and the use of the force. It was so satisfying using force push to knock storm troopers off ledges. BD-1 was a fantastic little sidekick too. I also appreciated the varied level design with multiple planets (maps) to explore. The game isn't without its faults though. Like most reviews Ive read on this game I will echo the majority of the complaints. The story itself was a little weak but served its purpose to push you along to explore everything the game has to offer. With so many collectibles and a lot of them not accessible until you progress further in the story to unlock more force skills it becomes a collect-a-thon post game. If only they had put in some sort of fast travel system it would have saved many tedious, monotonous hours of trying to navigate the incredibly hard to decipher holomap. Overall I would recommend and look forward to hopefully more similar games in the future. Forgotton Anne I didn't really expect much from this game going in to be honest but I enjoyed it much more than I was expecting. I am a sucker for hand drawn art styling and a sale price which were both responsible for this game to be in my backlog in the first place. The story itself was mostly linear but did have some collectibles scattered around to grab as well. A few of them were a bit out of the way but nothing chapter select couldn't resolve if they were missed. The story development, the art style and the music incorporated from the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra were the highlights for me. The only thing I would have liked to see done better was the somewhat janky platforming that felt old and outdated. Thankfully there isn't a lot of it so it didn't hurt the game too much. I believe its worth a play for anyone sitting on the fence about it. Stats Starting = 81.18% - Starting Platinums = 69 January = 82.41% (+1.23%) - January Platinums = 70 (+1) February = 83.32% (+0.91%) - Current Month Platinums = 73 (+3) Edited February 16, 2021 by gruffiiti

Yea, I finished all the crown events early last year when they were all out for like 6 months haha. Now it is just Elders/non-event ones :'(

Popular Post Gumby114
Update for the month: part 2 Concrete Genie I finished Concrete Genie this weekend after a bout of not being able to sleep. It was a pretty solid game and I can see why it so popular. Most easy to plat games are rubbish and you really are just buying a plat, however if you haven’t jumped onto this game yet I recommend it. I really enjoyed the gameplay – the story is a bit predictable and a lame but the game play makes up for it. Pro tip is to turn off motion control. AC: Valhalla Not much trophy progress but a whole heap of game progress. The combat has grown on me and I am slowly getting better at the mechanics. It is 100% a hybrid of older and newer AC games. I have been completing all areas before moving to the next to avoid losing hours of progress because of bugs. Overwatch No trophies but I am slowing climbing out of the cesspool that is high gold/low plat.

based_gigachad
What do you guys/girls do when you encounter a broken trophy? I've just got one on Hitman 2 that's going to stop me getting 100% and I'm really annoyed by it, so frustrating to know you have fulfilled the requirements on multiple occasions and you just don't get what you've rightfully earned! Pretty much just killed my motivation to keep on playing this game or start on Hitman 3, to be honest. Just really annoyed :/

I've run into a few glitched trophies, the worst being the one in Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki where it failed to count one of the monsters for the trophy to get all battle notes. Had to not only do another playthrough, but I also had to not carry over any battle related data and start completely fresh. Couldn't miss any quests, had to go hunt all those rare monsters that wouldn't spawn for me again, it was a serious pain in my butt. That plat took as long as it did because I kept rage quitting it from sheer frustration over bad guides and then that bug and finding out that difficulty trophies didn't stack after all so I also had to do that run on hard. Was so glad when I finally finished it and could remove it from my backlog for good. Then there's also Gem Smashers Vita where there's a glitch that locks you out of a trophy and the only resolution is to format your Vita. But for me it's a matter of I go and research as much as I can and try to determine if the trophy is just glitched and doesn't unlock for some people or all. If it doesn't unlock for all, it's likely hopeless but if it unlocks for some then it is worth it to research if solutions exist to correct any errors or if any players have any ideas on how to prevent the glitch from happening. Also might not hurt to backup saves often so you can revert to a previous save and redo as needed rather than starting fully from scratch, though this can depend on the trophy itself.
Popular Post Static_Rook
Update 7 - 2/19/2021 Starting PCG 32.61% Previous week 33.61% Current PCG 33.71% Goal = 50% This week, I went back to some older games with low completion %s on my list. The Division - I must have rented this near release because it's been sitting on my trophy list for years at 4%. I put a bunch of hours into the PC version, but barely got past the opening missions on PS4. The Gold edition was on sale for like $13 so I figured "why not?" I'm not going for the plat or 100% just aiming to get it above that 50% threshold. I don't think I have it in me to do the Underground or Survival grinds again. Guilty Gear Xrd Sign - I lost my physical edition, but luckily it's on PS Now. I played it at release but all the systems were too complicated for me, and the netcode wasn't great so I dropped it. The online is dead, of course, but I found a cheap copy of the PS3 version so I'll be doing some self-boosting when that arrives. It looks like the only trophy that will keep me from getting the platinum is the Spectator mode one so I might set up a boosting session for that eventually. Looking forward to Strive with it's simpler systems and better netcode. Sonic the Fighters - Saw this while browsing PS Now and then saw that it could be 100%'d in like 10 minutes. So that gave me a nice little boost before this update. I also started Persona 5 Strikers but the trophies aren't synching yet. I'm assuming they'll get "activated" on Sunday or Monday so I'm trying to get as many as I can before then to ease that new game % drop. I also signed up for the Kill Your Completion event so March is going to be an interesting month for my percentages. I'm planning to continue working on older, low percentage games to counteract the new ones I'll be adding. Plus I'll be hunting for more games like Sonic Fighters for quick little boosts. Lots of fun gaming ahead!

Just really annoyed :/ Mafia 3 was this for me, I gave it 3 months after 3 playthroughs hoping that since they did the definitive edition or whatever they called it, and were updating the first 2 games that they would fix what they broke. Never happened and I stopped hoping, luckily Mafia 3 had a patch version that worked, and all I had to do was learn how to downgrade my patch version. After some trial and error and 2 weeks of holding my breath while I played it 2 more times to get the remaining trophies for the platinum. Then I calmly ejected the disc, deleted the game files from my hard drive, and put the game back on the shelf where it sits today. A constant reminder that Big game companies don't care once they get your money.

I did some digging of my own looking for a work-around but no luck yet. The problem with Hitman is that all progress is stored server-side - so the game KNOWS I have completed the necessary challenges because it has them ticked, but I can't reset that progress unless I delete my entire account and start over. It even tracks challenge completion if you do one, reload to an earlier save where you haven't done it, and still ticks it off because you were connected to the server before you reloaded the save. Anyway, I appreciate the responses regardless. Trophies seem like a silly thing to get annoyed by in the grand scheme of things but looks like I was preaching to the right crowd! I've also managed to track down a relatrively cheap copy of the gold edition, so will be able to clear the dlc at some point in the future also. Currenlty I'm Playing Thief, I got this not too long after initially getting the PS4, couldn't really get into it back then. Finding it abit more enjoyable this time. After that is finished, I'll be going for DMC: Devil May Cry, another one that I started and never really got very far into. Popular Post Llobster12
Update 1 - January 12 Update 1 (posting updates mainly for my benefit, maybe someone else will find them interesting) Jan 12 Start games started: 95 Start games completed: 57 Current games started: 95 Current games completed: 59 (+2) Platinum Trophies at start ---> current (47 ---> 48) (+1) Start completion percentage: 67.07% Current completion percentage: 68.34% (+1.27%) Goal: 75% Games this week: Resident Evil HD Making slow progress through this. I've picked this as my 50th platinum since the original is one of my best memories of gaming of all time. I played the original on PSOne when it first released back when I was a kid. I remember staying up late with my friends arguing about who had to take the controller because we were all too scared to play. We eventually beat it and I became a hero when I played through the whole game on whatever the hardest difficulty was back then without saving once. Because of this I figured I'd have no problem starting on hard this time around. I'm currently ammo-less and health item-less and may have to start over being more careful. The Pathless Played all the way through and platinumed this one this week. It was a lot of fun. I loved the gameplay, the art and the music. I liked how they told the story. The game was just the right length and an easy platinum experience. It was a nice change of pace after really having to dedicate my attention for the plat on Sackboy: A Big Adventure (the speed run trophy "Stringing it Together" was tough for me) Sky Force Anniversay After years of chipping away at this off and on with my son we finally got 100 medals and got all the cards to drop to reach the 100%. It's a fun little game and it was satisfying to finally finish it. Maybe we will dive into Sky Force Reloaded later this year.... Up next this week: - Continue through Resident Evil HD - Chip away at the new time trials added to Tools Up - Maybe start Spirit of the North, I'm not sure yet Happy trophy hunting everyone! Update 2 - February 2 Update 2 February 2, 2021 Games started at beginning: 95 Games completed at beginning: 57 Platinum Trophies at beginning: 47 Games started last week: 95 Games completed last week: 59 Platinum Trophies last week: 48 Current games started: 96 (+1 from last week ...... +1 total) Current games completed: 59 (+0 from last week ...... +2 total) Current Platinum Trophies: 48) (+0 from last week ..... +1 total) Completion percentage at beginning: 67.07% Completion percentage last week: 68.34% Current completion percentage: 68.81% (+0.47% from last week ..... 1.74% total) Goal: 75% Games this week: Resident Evil HD (PS4) I've made it through my first two playthroughs. Once and Chris and once as Jill. The first playthrough was with Chris and I played on normal and just enjoyed myself not worrying about getting any trophies, just let them come along naturally without consulting a guide. Last week I thought that I would have to start over as I had gotten myself in a bad place with no ammo and no healing items, but I managed to bravely run away from every enemy until I could find some resources and finish the game. It was a great trip through nostalgia. Then I did a playthrough with Jill for the "no saving allowed" trophy. I'm really enjoying my time revisiting this game 22ish years after playing it for the first time. I'm setting this one up to be my 50th platinum since it's one of my favorite games of all time. Planet Coaster (PS5) Last week I had planned on playing Spirit of the North as my 49th trophy as a I near completion on Resident Evil, but as I was about to grab it off of the shelf I grabbed Planet Coaster instead on a whim. I've been playing it a lot and really loving it. I now remember why I used to spend so much time playing "tycoon" games when I was younger. I haven't played one in ages and I'm really glad that I picked this one up. It took a minute to get used to playing a game like this without a mouse and keyboard, but now that I've practiced it works just fine. The game is fun and I've spent way to many nights in the last few weeks realizing that I've stayed up way too late building my park and being super tired at work the next day. I've made it through all of the medium career levels and the first hard level. 11 more career levels to go plus the challenge mode and some misc trophies. Phogs (PS4) My daughter saw a trailer of this game and wanted to play it with me. I'll be slowly slowly going through this as my daughters attention holds for short bursts. It's a co-op focused game (but can be played single player) where each player controls each end of a 2-headed legless dog-worm thing. It's either super cute or absolute nightmare fuel. I can't decide. Check out a trailer and tell me what you think. Up next this week: - Continue through Resident Evil HD. I think I will start my playthrough on survival mode. - Continue through Planet Coaster career mode. - Start Destruction All-Stars (downloading while I'm typing this) - Phogs here and there with my daughter - Tools Up! time trials here and there with my son. Happy trophy hunting everyone! Update 3 February 20, 2021 Games started at beginning: 95 Games completed at beginning: 57 Platinum Trophies at beginning: 47 Current games started: 98 (+3 from start) Current games completed: 62 (+5 from start) Current Platinum Trophies: 50) (+3 from start) Completion percentage at beginning: 67.07% Completion percentage last update: 68.34% Current completion percentage: 69.78% (+1.44% from last update..... 2.71% total) Goal: 75% Games since last update: Resident Evil HD (PS4) 50th platinum obtained! I really enjoyed my time with it. I ended up completing it in 5 playthroughs. I know I could've been more efficient but I was enjoying myself and didn't mind the extra playthrough. I really enjoyed how by the time I got the platinum I knew the route through the game like the back of my hand and could finish a playthrough in 3 hours without really trying. My first playthrough was 16 hours to give that context. I would've thought that playing through it 5 times in a short time would get tedious, but for whatever reason it remained fun throughout. Planet Coaster (PS5) Slowing making my way through the career mode and I am really enjoying this. It's a low stress fun way to relax compared to other games I've played. Inly 4 more career missions to go before I complete the few requirements in challenge mode (not sure what that entails yet). Then I'll finish the plat off with the trophy for causing a roller coaster accident involving 300 guests, should be fun!! Phogs (PS4) No movement here. My daughter hasn't felt like playing this week. Tools Up! (PS4) Finished off the post-platinum trophies with my son this last week in time attack mode. This was a really fun little game. It's basically Overcooked, but you are contractors instead of chefs. It's got a little more jank and less polish than Overcooked, but for whatever reason I enjoy this one more. Check it out if you are looking for some fun couch co-op with a friend. Donut County (PS4) I had fun playing through this quirky little adventure. I did it to get a fast platinum done so that Resident Evil could be my 50th plat. Pick it up on sale if you're interested in it, it's only 1-2 hours of playtime to plat. Destruction Allstars (PS5) I've actually had a lot of fun with this game. I'm getting close to completion with 13/16 of the character specific trophies completed and 44/50 wins done. The 3 character challenge trophies left are going to be a pain though (Boxtop, Ratu, and Twinkle Riot left to do). I've probably spent 8ish hours alone already trying to get Boxtop's trophy. I'll continue playing a few matches everyday and eventually I should get this. Up next: - Continue through Planet Coaster. I should be able to wrap this up this week. - Continue Destruction Allstars. I'm close, but the few remaining trophies may take a while. - Phogs here and there with my daughter. - I might start a Lego game with my wife, maybe one of the Marvel ones. Happy trophy hunting everyone!
