Popular Post gruffiiti
Monday update Didn't get much gaming time in this past week as was away camping for most of it so I only got some time with Little Hope. I had taken my VITA with to maybe work on a few titles but I never seem to feel like pulling it out when I am at the lake. Probably not a bad thing to take a break to unplug occasionally anyways. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope I planned on doing the "Heart" choice playthrough right after I finished the "Head" choice playthrough but for some reason that didn't happen. I did instead replay plenty of chapters over and over in order to trigger various trophies. All that is left now though is a solo "Heart" playthrough and finishing a couple chapters for No Escaping Fate. I was hoping to knock that one out yet last night but I couldn't keep my eyes open so packed it in and went to bed. Should be able to finish this one in the next couple days. Popular Post Spinacheq
Update #26: Wow half a year already. I have made a lot of progress, more than I thought I would, kinda wondering how the last half of the year will be since the world is opening up again. I completed 1 game started a new one. Still managed a positive increase for the week. Thanks to not starting any new games that are marathon long ones. Finished the week at 80.31% up 0.16% from last week. Which isn't bad considering I started a new game yesterday hehe. Time and Eternity (PS3): Finished the second playthrough of this game and got the last 2 trophies I needed. Not my favorite game in the least. The characters had really nice art work, and I liked the idea of the animation for them. That said they had 4 animations and just kept replaying them over and over again like an old CD-i or 3DO game. It got very annoying and hurt my eyes after awhile. Put that over a ps2 style background and wow just wow not good at all. The music was very hit and miss, some was great and appropriate the other times it was isn't even close. The mechanic for skipping scenes on ng+ was very weird and you could only skip the scenes if you already saw them with that specific princess, otherwise you had to watch it again all for the whooping difference of the princess's name and the color of her hair. The part that really bothered me was the main guy character you get to name. He was complete and utter slime ball, constantly trying to spy on people in the shower, force the princesses to do things they don't want to and want to save for after they are married. And in the end the game just writes all that behavior off as oh well timey whimey things were involved so your actions might not matter... I actually got up and took a shower after I finished it completely and got the special ending, yes I felt that dirty and gross all for a platinum. Eiyuu Senki (PS3): Started this game and so far it has been pretty fun, I skip through all the stupid story as it isn't meant to be serious and you don't need too read it to play the game. Since there is no english voice work I just choose to play the game. I have been having fun with the grid based strategy battles. There is a little fan service as in skippy outfits but nothing that you can't ignore if you want to by just fast forwarding through the story parts. I will give a complete overview of my thoughts after I finish it. And I want go back and finish AC3 dlc that is really bugging me, as well as the fallout 3 dlc I still have left. those discs are sitting on my desk and need to get finished so I can put them back in the vault. Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
Weekly Update: My completion went down for the first time since joining the event. I started That's You! on this account. It wasn't planned, but I took my PS5 to my parent's on the 4th of July since fireworks were banned here. I figured my extended family could play some party games and it would be fun. We were having trouble connecting up on the Playlink games. Those ones where you can use your cellphone to control the game. I think it is because the app is specifically looking for a PS4. We couldn't get things connected for like 45 minutes. After messing around in network settings and doing a bunch of shit, I finally figured out it would work if I directly typed in the IP address of the PS5 directly into the app. Everyone connected up, but we were now on my trophy hunting account. I didn't want to frustrate people any further by making them all log out so I could restart it on a different profile. So I just let it happen. I am ending the goal of finishing 20 games without starting something new. I'm still going to be trying very hard to resist the temptation to start something new and hoping to go another 15 or so games before a new one. I just didn't feel like resetting the counter back to zero or acting like starting That's You! didn't happen. I failed, so I'll just move on and stop reporting on the progress there. I need to avoid new games to keep upping my completion, so the results of my ability to resist the temptation will be self-evident. Ni No Kuni II - This is the main game I played this week. I finished up the platinum, and started the DLC. However, the first DLC looks like it just means grinding for 20 levels in an extended maze you grinded in for about 20 levels to finish the platinum. So I'm not very excited about it. The other DLCs were too high level to get far. I'm not giving up on the game yet, but I probably won't touch it more for a couple weeks. Mass Effect 3 - After NNK2, I started working on this game more. Having a good time, but don't have much to say about it still. I am finally getting over the early hump so things should move faster soon. I want to finish it this week. Each Mass Effect game has slight changes from the last one. This one is my least favorite as far as things outside of the story go. It's added things to make it more frustrating, but not really anything new to make it more fun or rewarding. The story aspects are still really good though. Alien Isolation - I started messing around in this game to figure out where I left off in the past. I got the platinum way a long time ago on another account. I started it once before on this account but didn't get far before I decided I didn't want to deal with it. I ended up just deciding to restart and got a trophy by messing around in the vents to bring it up to a current spot in my trophy list. I'll probably move to this next after I finish Mass Effect 3. COD MW Remastered - I am not picking this up with the intention of going far with it currently. I just was in the mood to work on the speed run in the F.N.G. mission. I was able to pick up the trophy for having the best time in the squad, under 19 seconds. But the Best of the Best trophy is still out of reach. I can consistently finish in under 20 seconds, but I need to be under 15.1 once. My best is 15.6 so I am knocking at the door. Plans for Upcoming Week: My main goal is to finish Mass Effect 3. I think it will take pretty much all my gaming time if I am going to get that done this week, so nothing else is planned. Otherwise I'm slowly making progress in Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom. No trophies to show for it, but it's a game that is pretty stingy with trophies at the start.
Popular Post based_gigachad
Starting Percent: 55.33% Last Update: 63.69% Current Percent: 63.83% Started and completed Truck Racing Championship. It's the exact same game as FIA European Truck Racing Championship which I have completed before, just with an altered title for the NA trophy stack as opposed to the EU stack. In many ways it really feels, looks and plays like an early PS3 title, even though it released on PS4 in 2019! Not exactly a memorable or notable experience except for the fact that a ) you're racing big trucks and b ) the game features quite a lot of obscure racetracks that are rarely featured in other racing games. Luckily, the game is straightforward from a trophy perspective and essentially boils down to completing 2 full seasons of the European tournament and 2 full seasons of the World Series tournament, as long as you get a victory at every track, win the respective championships and earn the necessary reputation points.

I'm at rank 10/20 for racer career and will do cop career afterwards but it's great revisiting this game at 4k 60fps on the PS5 with many of my favourite cars! Popular Post gruffiiti
Monday update This week was pretty decent for me as I managed to finish a couple games this week. I did add and start a new game though as well so my gains could have been higher. Not too concerned though as I know I will finish new starts and they will always be something that looks like fun to play. That is what it is all about isn't it? The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope Didn't take long to finish this one up as last week I managed to get it to where I only really needed one more playthrough. I more or less did a speed run and skipped anything that wasn't needed to progress the story. I think it took me 3hrs tops to knock it out and pop that platinum. I'm looking forward to House of Ashes now as well. The setting looks interesting too. Transistor Picked this one up again after 2 years of it sitting dormant on my profile. I had started it and immediately got frustrated as I didn't understand how to use the different functions properly. After spending some time on it though it was a lot of fun playing around with the different combinations that could be put together and seeing what the outcome would be. Some combos were poor but others could really cause a lot of damage. Once I found one that worked for me most of the enemy encounters were pretty easy. Highly recommend this game! Headlander Hadn't planned on starting this one any time soon but somehow loaded it up after finishing Transistor. The concept is kinda goofy but the gameplay is addicting and very enjoyable. This one did drop my weekly gains somewhat but I still ended the week with positive numbers. Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
Weekly Update: A mix of good and bad. Bad first, I was naughty and started a new game. The good news is I finished the new game and Mass Effect 3 this week. Mass Effect also had a list for the series that is also now complete. So I competed three lists overall, which I'm quite happy with. Mass Effect 3 - Finally finished the trilogy. Overall, I enjoyed them quite a bit and happy I picked up the Legendary Edition and finally played them. I already knew to not expect much from the ending and to just enjoy the ride. I now totally get what people complained about, even with the "expanded endings" they were pretty meh in presentation. Without the expanded portions. I can understand why people made such a joke out of did you get the red explosions, or the blue ones? And ironically, I must not have been paying enough attention, because I triggered an ending I didn't intend. I got the green one because I just stumbled forward and didn't turn left or right, but would have done red had I been paying attention. Those reapers needed to go! Immortals Fenyx Rising - I started this once upon a time, but it's humor and gameplay just weren't clicking at the time. Partially, because I was playing through Nioh 2 and the attacks and dodge buttons were opposites and I just didn't want to throw myself off in Nioh. So I picked it up again and restarted since I was barely past the tutorial anyway. Not much to say, but I am not annoyed playing it this time. I've heard its one of the best things Ubisoft has put out lately, so I'm looking forward to it. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart - Despite not wanting to drop my percentage with starting new things. I borrowed this from a friend, since I knew it wasn't a long platinum. He wanted it back quickly anyway so he would have it when his kids visited this upcoming weekend. It put a damper on the gains I would have made, but since I 100%'ed in over the course of two days it's just a blip on the radar. Plans for Upcoming Week: I think I will probably work on Little Hope to cross off another game for the Gaming By Numbers event. It should be easily doable in a week. I would also like to finish off the Underground DLC for Tom Clancy's The Division. I'm not sure if I'll start any of the other DLC or not. I'm tempted, but I've played sooo much of it. I might want to just say that I'm done with it and move on. I have the game at 80% now, so at least it's not working against my goal percentage anymore. Popular Post Spinacheq
Update #27...officially the second half of the year started. This week was good one in I completed a game I had started the week before, the percentage increase for the week was good for what I had time for and in the positive range so yea. I would have loved to have been able to spend the weekend increasing that percentage but alas life doesn't always agree with my gaming wants and needs. That being said I did end the week at 80.82% up 0.51% from last week thanks to the completion of Eiyuu Senki: the world conquest. I made a huge push to complete the game by saturday morning since I knew the weekend was going to be a no game zone, which when I did put me at the number 2 spot for fastest completion of that game, didn't even think about it just sat back and played it. lol Eiyuu Senki: The World Conquest (PS3): So I have did this game as it was in my backlog, and also fit into a few challenges for other events I am in and I have already gone into lengthy reviews their, that being said I will still give a review here. I found the game overall fun and enjoyable. It had its issues but nothing I couldn't work past. The graphics were nice and enjoyable, and the strategy grid based battles were the biggest draw for me. I gave the story an hour or 2 before I decided it was just too "silly", I don't want to say stupid as it might have been just bad translation work, and decided that since the game would allow me to hit a button to fast forward the text and it didn't matter in the least I would. The over all lack of instructions or what to do was a little frustrating at times since this was only ever a digital only release in the US. I think it got a physical in Japan but I could be wrong. Though the learning curve for what everything was and how to efficiently win the battles wasn't too bad.... Well that was until the final after you better the normal story ending, and are on the true ending path last dungeon that unlocks but isn't required for the true ending route, but has a gold trophy tied to it so if you want that shiny platinum you have to do it dungeon appeared. (sorry about that sentence.) The ramp up of difficulty in the last dungeon alone meant an easy 4 hours of money grinding to upgrade enough of my troops to stand a chance at the first floors 5 battles. Not counting the remain 8 floors. And while each floor was it's own mission of sorts so you could exit out of the dungeon and heal up or upgrade your troops the battles were intense, highly strategic and not just your solid party of 6 generals (each general had a troop count that determined their health and overall attack power) but for at least 60 of your 73 generals to be high level and know how they interact with each other. This was do to the fact that once you used a general in say the first battle of the floor 1 they couldn't be used on any more of that floors battles. So yeah after about 3 hours of trying and failing to complete just the first floor, I said screw this found a guide of what were the best combinations of generals for each battle on each floor and then went from there. This helped a lot. Overall this game wasn't bad and if you don't care about the platinum or don't mind looking up info for the last dungeon I say play it. Since that shouldn't take the whole week, I was planning on finally revisiting some of those DLCs I need to finish cleaning up which should help to get me under that 1k unearned trophy number I have wanted to finish the year under. Good luck to everyone on the week ahead and I look forward to reading all your progress and reviews. The only down side to event for me so far is it has lead me to adding games I want to get and add to my backlog lol.

So I've actually played these a bunch, just not all on this profile. I personally would give the games like a 6 or 7 out of 10. They are pretty decent, but hard to recommend to people. You kind of need to already enjoy horror movies. I don't think these would change your mind if you weren't already a bit of a fan. The Dark Pictures anthology basically came as a follow-up to Until Dawn, which was quite successful for the developer. All the games have the same framework, share a lot of the same actors, etc. Trophies are similar between them etc. Ultimately, they feel like a tell tale game set to an average-ish horror movie. They are a bit more fun than the average movie though because they are interactive. You make conversation choices along the way and all the action is done through quick time events. However, to get a platinum, you will likely be playing the game 3 or 4 times. You will see some new stuff each playthrough, but not enough to make it exciting all over again. So think about if you are the type that would want to watch the same movie 3 or 4 times, because there's no skipping the cutscenes or speeding it up. You will have to watch pretty much the whole game a few times. In my opinion, Until Dawn is the best one, even though it's not technically part of the anthology. So I would start there. If you liked it, then you could keep going. It's probably something you already own from PS+ anyway.

Cool good to know thanks, I love FMV games and I have been a horror movie fan since I was a kid so it sounds like it might be right up my alley. I'll probably play Until Dawn in a few months myself... maybe closer to Halloweenie.
gladiatorrrrrrr
hello fellow completionists hunters Just needed a place to vent a bit. I am at 80% of completition with AC III on the PS3 and now suddenly the game doesn't want to start anymore. It is a digital version and I thought that buying the disc would help. Well, the game starts but I did get 'cannot sycn the trophy list'.....no clue. Now it looks like my trophy list will not sync anymore (error code 80022D05). I just contacted Sony to see if there is a solution. On top of that simple trophies of the MP of Max Payne 3 will not unlock for me either..... Why is it so difficult to have glitch free games and working consoles? Getting these trophies are hard on their own but this makes it insane. Anyway; for now I just take a break until the issue of the syncing is fixed....before I break something ? Then delete them and ac3 from my harddrive. do a database rebuild, sorry can't remember the process of the top of my head, then reinstall the game, and download the saves back from my backup. This worked for me, when sony and ubisoft had no other solution.

Thought it was ok. Liked the story very much. Afterwards, I jumped directly into A Plague Tale: Innocence and LOVED IT. Love me a game with a great story. Cannot wait for the sequel. I don't ever buy games on release day but most definitely will with its sequel. Now, I'm debating what to move on to. I tried Bloodborne once again but I just cannot get into it. I guess I'll give it another shot.
