I have joined that DLC event to boost the last percentages. AC III + DLC (4/4) - PS3 Finally got this game finished, thanks to the invaluable tips of @SpinacheqI managed to get the last trophy too. Feels so good that I finally can delete this game from my hard disk. Dead Nation - PSVita + DLC (0/1) One DLC trophy left (survive to round 10) so closing in on this one too. The 53K zombies that I need to kill to make the base game platinum will come automatically considering the many times I died on this last DLC trophy ? Metro Last Light + DLC (4/5) - PS3 Got the Ranger Hardcore trophy out of the way. Actually pretty easy if you play stealth, make maximal use of your throwing knives and the 'Ashot' gun (basically a shotgun revolver ) with silencer. Walk in the park! Now I need to replay the whole game again to get 'Shadow Ranger' => not to allowed to kill anybody which I pretty sure of I did in my first run. Anyway...on 1/3 now. Current Status: Plans for next week: - make progress on Metro Last Light, first finishing Ranger Hardcore mode (PS3) - finish Dead Nation (PSVita) Happy trophy hunting! So this last week was a better one for gameplay time and completion percentage. Let start off with that, I managed to pull a nice 0.29% increase thanks mainly to getting Y's 8 to almost completed state. Going from 82.44% to 82.73% slowly but surely chipping away and that NG+ goal of 84%. I also cleaned up 1 trophy on an old ps3 game. Uncharted 3... cause yeah I was being weird and reading the forum about which dlc trophies could still be gotten with the servers down to see if any of the dlc packs could be completed for the DLC event. I realized I never got the buddy system trophy for that game the one for co-op multiplayer, and while most of the forum threads said you need the GoTY disc I thought lets try it with my OG disk since I never got the plat either, cause I was lazy back then and didn't clean up crushing mode or other collection trophies. Buddy system worked, so yeah going to test if I can get some of the dlc trophies with the OG disc later on as I would love to clean up the list as much as I can. Y's VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (PS4): Completed my first playthrough and some clean up trophies from reloading the clear file. Thanks, @ladynadiad the info about missable/not missable trophies All I have left on it is the nightmare run true ending route trophy. Which I have been speed running my way through it and am already back to ch.5 so hoping to finish that run up today/tomorrow and get the plat. I enjoyed the story of this game, and music and visuals where nice too. I would definitely recommend this if you want a fun jrpg that isn't too brutal and if you don't care about plats, is a fun one to play on easy mode to enjoy the story and world of the game. Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3): Messed around with for the DLCs co-op mode, got the buddy system trophy which was the only MP trophy of the main set I didn't have so I can actually go back at some point to at least clean up the plat on that game. Spoiler Current Week: Finish Y's 8, then I would like to either finish AC3 DLC or get some time on either fallout 3 DLC or FF15 DLC. Popular Post gruffiiti Posted October 25, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted October 25, 2021 Weekly update This week was better and I almost clawed out of the hole I put myself in this month. I finished up a couple games and am halfway through another that should be finished this week. I am also planning to start on the latest drop from The Dark Anthology series as well this week but I am hopeful I can finish this month breaking even and setup for a big month in November. If I have extra time I will likely try to knock out some dlc trophies and push those numbers up! Lair of the Clockwork God Wrapped up Lair of the Clockwork God early in the week. I had a handful of trophies left after my first playthrough and thought it wouldn't be a big deal as the game has chapter select. A few of them were super quick to get but I spent a bunch of time on a platforming section that was somewhat challenging as you had to get through the level without dying. I can't tell you how many times I made it 90% of the way through and then died to a mistimed jump or a random blip in the game that threw your timing off. It took me hours to finally get a clean run. Then I realized my last trophy required a complete new playthrough as it wouldn't pop using chapter select. So the next evening I started over and sped through the game as fast as I could making sure to do what I needed to do to unlock my final trophy. Wouldn't you know it, when I got to the challenging platforming section I struggled with I breezed through it flawlessly this time round. Makes me wonder if I wasted the evening before trying for it or was the practice what made me ace it this time round... Anyways, besides the need for me to do an extra playthrough (because I didn't look at the trophy list beforehand) I really liked this game. The writing was pretty good and at times quite hilarious and the way the two characters interacted with their genre of gaming skillz was something I haven't seen before. It was easily worth the few dollars I spent on it. Remnant: From the Ashes Didn't play this as much as planned but did get a session or two in and made a little progress. I found out that actually using your upgrade points to increase your traits goes a long way to not dying so fast. Yeah I pulled that bonehead move of forgetting to upgrade... oops! So far its been fun and look forward to more co-op sessions with @Spacey Dweeb. At our pace though it will likely take us till Christmas to finish. haha Goodbye Deponia Decided to finally knock out the last 2 Deponia games from my backlog this week and have been enjoying some point and click action. These games are just as wacky as I remember and am enjoying my revisit to Deponia. Nothing too difficult in these games so got the first one finished up and on to the next. Deponia Doomsday This game is more of the same but adds a time looping/traveling dynamic into the mix. I am probably about 2/3 of the way through the game now but will have to go back and load a save to complete the 1001 Jackalopes trophy. I didn't feel like the grind which to be honest seems like a useless one just yet so will likely finish up the story first. Should get this done this week. Got the plat for Dungeon Encounters and made it to the final chapter in Ys IX. I tried to finish my Normal playthrough in Ys IX tonight but ran out of steam. So I'll finish that tomorrow and then start on the Nightmare run. Should have the plat by next week. No quickie games this week, didn't have the time. Getting closer to that 10% overall increase! Hopefully I can hit it before the monthly update. Dead Nation + DLC (1/1) - PSVita Done! Got the last DLC trophy and just before I got to round 10 I got the 53K zombies killing trophy too. It all came nicely together. Death Mark (PSVita) This is my second game I started this year ? .... wanted to play something with the spooky theme this week. Interesting game with some scary moments. Metro Last Light + DLC (4/5) - PS3 What can I say? This game is getting on my nerve. I did a 'no kill' run for the Shadow ranger trophy and it didn't pop. I am sure I didn't kill anybody but it might be that that the trophy is voided because I had to start over a chapter. Not sure if it kind of overwrites what you are doing. I need to give it another go but for now I just want to play some other games. Will come back on this. Dead Nation + DLC (0/1) - PS3 I almost can hear you think...'Dead Nation...didn't he just finished it'. Yup but I started the PS3 version years ago too. Got a partner this weekend to do the coop trophies so now working on this title on the PS3. Must say, game looks easier on a big screen with a proper controller... Current Status: Plans for next week: - make progress on Dead Nation (PS3) - probably start a new game => thinking of A Plaques Tale. - decide what to play next on the PSVita - work on some DLC's (Borderlands 3/ Rocket league) Happy trophy hunting! Wanna work on mine now? lol Had a good month - highest I have improved all year but I am aiming for 88% and sitting on 82.5% - probably wont get there for a second year in a row.... Finished Maneater, Asto's and knocked a big chunk of of LEGO Ninjago. Will aim for Metro, Everybody's gone to the Rapture and AC Black flag and the DLC for Ghost's and Valhalla and see how I go. That's a big month for someone who is pretty time poor and starting a new job in 6 days lol. The games I want to commit myself to will be Guacamelee, Death Stranding and Guardians of the Galaxy. 2/3 are already on my list so it'll be some nice backlog clearing! I won't reach my goal though sadly, I didn't expect 6.5% to be such a trial, but with over 250 games in my list, even returning to games only provides minimal increase in my trophy percentage. I'm pretty happy though, 80% has always been the goal post completion I tried to hang around, and I'll be over 82% come the end of the year. I likely won't go again next year with this challenge, despite how much I've actually enjoyed it. I want to get back into playing a few games that I don't actively trophy hunt (Yakuza, etc). I will need to focus on completing games already started as it is the only way I will still get a shot at hitting my yearly goal now. Deponia Doomsday As I suspected the 1001 Jackalopes trophy was a pain in the buttox. I even prepared by printing out a list of all the 243 different jackalope combinations that had to be created and meticulously crossed them off as I completed them. Sure as shit though when I crossed off my last one the trophy didnt pop. Somewhere I had missed one or one didnt register. I may have cussed (just a little ) before starting all over. I mean what else could I do. Thankfully the trophy popped before I made it 1/3 of the way through the list again. This one trophy took me all evening to get and anyone who has played this game knows it is completely useless to adding anything to the game. Ive done worse grinds but this one just seemed the most pointless. Shady Part of Me Bought this game on a whim as it looked kinda neat and gave me Little Nightmares crossed with Contrast vibes. It was fairly short and can be done in a couple evenings but the art style and music was really great. The puzzles themselves were good to and progressively got harder as the game went on. There was nothing too hard to figure out though so its unlikely to frustrate anyone too much. If you enjoy puzzle type platformers I would recommend you grab this one if you see it on a sale. Sniper Elite 3 Loaded this game back onto my PS5 to help someone with the Challenge missions as that was all they needed for the 100%. After running through them it got me back into the game again and I am now currently working on a 100% completion run with only the last couple story missions left to do. Once I get these done I will be doing an Authentic run in co-op to finish up the plat. The dlc looks to be pretty straight forward as well so will be knocking those out too. May also get some through Resident Evil HD, GTA V and Persona 5 but those are all super casual. Decided on getting the GTA V platinum as #40 and with a string of 35-40 being (GTA VC -> SA -> GTA 3 Remastered -> GTA VC Remastered -> GTA SA Remastered -> GTA V. Games played this week: Welcome Park- A short tech demo experience for the PSVita, which I'd not gotten around to doing. League of Evil- Fairly short platformer from Ratalaika, which I actually quit elike, other than one downright annoying level. Thimbleweed Park- Was in the mood to do a point & Click adventure game, remembered I picked this up on sale a while back after a friend recommended it. It's good fun, very reminiscent of Monkey island, and other point n' Click adventure games of that era. I played this a number of years ago on steam and really enjoyed it. As far as I remember, there weren't any crazy out of left field puzzle solutions (let's be honest, there probably is, but at least nothing memorable enough that's stuck with me) and the story was pretty good and engaging. DLC 1 & 2 completed. So last update I thought I'd be able to knock out the DLC's within a week or so... oh poor naive soul that I was. This thing is tough. I thought that I had finished the most challenging trophies, but I was wrong. After many many hours I've manage to complete DLC's 1 & 2 (completing custom ship challenges, Demolition Mode, and Survival Mode). After many more hours of practice I've finally managed to finish off the trophies for Protector Mode. I am currently working on Commando Mode in DLC 4 (the toughest challenge so far) and then I'll finish off DLC 3 which looks like quite the grind of custom challenges and feats to level up to 50. It may take a while. I really do love the game though. The challenge feels fair and like I can get better rather than BS. Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas (PS4) 100%, Plat achieved. This is a short Indie Zelda clone that I picked up ages ago on a sale and played through it on a whim. I'm not sure exactly what piqued my interest but..... it wasn't great. It wasn't terrible, but nothing I'd say to go out of your way to play. Apparently it's a port of a mobile game. You can get the plat even before you finish the main story (right before the final boss fight) and I was so disinterested in it I actually stopped playing after getting the plat and didn't finish the game. Goat Simulator (PS4) 100%, Plat achieved. DLC 1-4 completed. I wasn't planning on playing this, but my son was playing it on his profile and it glitched (big surprise with this game) and gave one of the trophies he earned to my profile as well as his. This put a 1% game on my profile and since I'm trying to increase my % I just decided to go ahead and plow through it. I hated it. It's fun to mess around with for like 30 minutes and then I was done. The plat itself isn't too bad (with the exception for the Flappy Goat trophy) but the four DLC's.... oh man. Part of the point of the game is it's funny glitches but when it turns into glitches that make you restart a level and lose all your progress, and trophies that make you do things precisely in a game that is anything but precise... I haven't felt gamer rage at a game in a very long time. But this game.... Ugh. (To be fair, there's a lot of clever parodies and easter eggs absolutely everywhere. This game could be enjoyable as a casual experience - especially with a friend. If I wasn't trying to 100% it my opinion would probably be different.) Up Next: - Keep working on Resogun. Continue to practice Commando Mode then work on challenges. - I think that I will start the original Demon's Souls on PS3 (one of the 1% games on my profile) and experience the original before I play the PS5 remake. - I want to start something easy (and maybe short but it doesn't have to be) that I don't hate in light of the fact that I'll be playing some tougher games and I just spent a week playing stuff that wasn't fun. This has rewarded me with a 0.40% gain so far this month. Operation: Tango This week I completed the challenge dlc with @Spacey Dweeb. At first we thought that some of the times required to get gold on these challenges were daunting. But in the end most of the challenges took us a few minutes to figure out what needed to be done and then a few tries to execute them efficiently. By the time we were finished we both agreed the times were fair if not on the lenient side for some of the challenges. It was fun to go back to this game but I wished they had created another main game story scenario instead. I wouldn't be surprised or disappointed if more content drops in the future. Demon's Souls Only played this for an hour after completing Operation: Tango but reran a level already completed to grab a key I forgot to get that would unlock a cell for a trophy. Sage Freke seemed happy for the rescue. He really should have been pissed at me for leaving him in that cell for an extra 6 months after I originally beat the boss in the level. Sniper Elite 3 This was my main game this week and its been a lot of fun getting back into this one. I want to thank @AileWing for helping me with the co-op Authentic run. It was a lot of fun sniping together. Once we figured out we could shoot each other in the head and revive to regain full health that mode really wasn't difficult and we finished it up in a couple evenings. I am only one weapon part away from the platinum now but having trouble tracking it down. I am hoping the game didn't glitch on me as I only have a couple left to double check on now. I should find out tonight. Here's to hoping I don't need to delete my save and re-run all the missions for these things. Also plan on doing the 2 dlc packs for this game this week. So that feels good even if I won't reach my goal of 50%. Finished a couple more fall challenge games and made a little progress in some others. In non-challenge games, I broke out the Vita to start clearing out some easier games. I started with Noire, but switched to Salt and Sanctuary since it can be completed quickly. I've been following Optinooby's guide and chipping away at it throughout the day. I was hoping to finish it before this update, but got caught up doing other stuff. I should be able to finish it tomorrow and then I'll knock out the PS4 version, too. If I get those done plus a couple more challenge games that'll be a good week. Ok I got bad last week and didn't post my update and my only reasoning is I just didn't feel up to it, nor gaming really the last 2 weeks. For 2 weeks ago I got the Plat for Ys VIII done, and pushed up a whole 0.02% from 82.73 to 82.75%. But I only had 1 trophy before the platinum left in that game. As for last week, well I started and finished Afterparty on PS4. Not a terrible long game but like I said I wasn't really feeling it this last 2 weeks. Not sure why, maybe end of the year holiday season OMFG another year is almost over blues? Afterparty gave me a 0.12% increase and put me up to 82.87%. Afterparty PS4: Story wise this was a good game, I enjoyed my first play through for the music, the voice acting, the humor slipped in throughout and the story. The controls and handling made me want to delete it from my ps4 the second I got the Plat. For a walking visual novel game, I honestly don't know how they can mess up the pathing where you can get stuck on things so often. I also ran into a few bugs, one during the dance competition part that made it so I couldn't progress and had to delete my save. Luckily I only lost an hour to that bug since that to auto upload from the night before. It also would have been nice if I could have skipped some of the parts on the second playthrough that were annoying dialogue on your 3 or 4th time seeing it. since the the game would auto save before it that part and you had to go to bed for work the next morning or, delete your save sue to a bug that wouldn't let you start the dance competition.... breath in slowly out slowly.... and we are letting those parts go. So I am now at 66.04% with 1.5 month to go. Still time to get a higher increase although I will start playing the new BF and probably bite into Demon Souls too this year. This whole challenge has helped a lot and I do hope that there will be a 'year 5' of this. Metro Last Light + DLC (4/5) - PS3 On hold. Dead Nation + DLC (0/1) - PS3 Played half way through my Grim run. Will probably dive more into it again this upcoming week. A Plaque Tales ; Innocence - PS5 Wanted to play this game for so long and when a free version came with Plus I knew I would play it this year. Really nice story, some clever game mechanics, nice abilities and not too long. Think the game could have been a bit more challenging because apart from the last boss, it is really easy. Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb Posted November 10, 2021 Popular Post Share Posted November 10, 2021 (edited) Weekly update I took a few weeks off of worrying about completion and posting in this event since I was under an immense amount of stress in my professional life. On top of that, was a bad case of gaming burnout in October. I just bounced around aimlessly since nothing ever sounded fun to play. However, right now, I'm at the tail end of my hard work project and enjoying games again. Fully drawn into Demon's Souls right now. But let's see what games I popped into this week. Operation Tango @gruffiiti and I did the platinum together months ago and the dev recently surprised us with a free DLC with a couple of trophies. The DLC felt like more of the same puzzles, just without a plot. It's supposed to be your "agent training" but with the campaign concluded, what am I training for?! Overall though, the game is good and offers excellent co-op. The DLC is basically 10 challenges. One trophy is for finishing all ten challenges ,and the other for getting gold medals in all ten. Most challenges took about 10 minutes to work out the puzzle. Afterwards, you go back through the challenge knowing what to do and you'll get gold or near gold easily. There is definitely fair and realistic timelines on the gold challenges. It's probably like 3 hours worth of content for most. For me and @gruffiiti it's more like five or six hours. Not just because we are dumb! I'm just saying that I don't think most people are failing challenges because they broke their partner's leg with a cleaning robot, or got shot with a defense turret their partner hacked, or been lied to about what symbol they should pick, or all the other shenanigans we pull on top of being dumb. The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes I have a tradition of playing these types of games with a cousin and their spouse. We were supposed to get together in October to play this, but they just had a baby and scheduling is rough. We finally did get together and instead of an all-night game-a-thon, like usual, they were like, "We better go check on the baby." after about 90 minutes and left just when the game was getting interesting! I'll probably finish this without them since it will be months and months at this rate. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning I've almost bought this like 30 times, so when it came free on PS plus, I decided to check it out. No opinion so far. I played about three hours, then looked at trophies and realized I needed to play on hard mode for a trophy, so I restarted. I caught up to where I was. Even though I've played it for hours on two different days, I haven't seen much of what it has to offer yet. I don't have any concerns so far though, other than it looks a decade old even being remastered. I'm not a big graphics snob though, so whatever. Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy If I were a graphics snob, I'd definitely point at this game as a showcase of the PS5. Holy hell this game was amazing looking at times. So bright, vivid, weird. Very memorable. The story is also really great. It has the typical Guardians origin plot. The group just formed, they don't trust each other. They aren't friends and are basically hostile towards each other at the beginning. Peter (you) is trying to hold everyone together and be the glue. But every decision you make has one guardian, at least, pissed off about it and they are going to let you know! However, like all the comics and movies, this ragtag bunch of outlaws find their way and become a team with everyone clicking by the end. My one negative is that the in-fighting and bickering amongst the Guardians gets soooo tiresome. It goes on for more than half of the game. You'll get to the point where you want to be like, "Jesus Christ Rocket! Shut the fuck up! I don't care!!! Just shut up and walk to the next waypoint." and that's got to be pretty much the same thing Peter is feeling in those moments too. It kind of works on some level as you are just as excited to see everyone coming together as they would be. I've heard people think the combat is weird because Peter is overall pretty weak in battle. However, it made sense to me. He's the shot caller. God of War is kind of like this but you play the power character and direct Atreus as a combat supplement. In this case, you're the weak one and the team is strong, especially when you use their powers combined. You'll see a glut of enemies coming and you can have Groot to root everyone in place and tell Rocket to throw a grenade in the center of the rooted enemies to blow them all up at once. Have Drax do a ground pound to finish off the weak ones and send Gamora to assassinate the stronger leader enemy that would have survived easily. When you get it just right... *chef's kiss Demon's Souls I've stopped and started this a bunch of times. This time I'm determined to plow through it without stopping. I'm doing a strength build and generally whipping ass. The game is interesting and looks freaking amazing. It's funny to see the Demon Souls remaster looking nicer than the previews of Elden Ring. Im basically tired of typing now and this is long enough so I'm cutting it off here. Enjoy your gaming, bitches! See you next Tuesday! ?
