Popular Post gruffiiti
Weekly update Only played one game this week but made some great progress in it and managed to knock out all the tough trophies. Sniper Elite 4 Spent most of my time this week working on the Authentic plus playthrough. It was quite fun (and a little frustrating at times) but we managed to complete this in a week which seems pretty quick to me. Big shout out to @AileWing for the co-op and for being a much better sniper in Authentic plus mode than I was. I did get pretty good at healing, headshots with my pistol around corners and tossing grenades or TNT into the middle of a group of enemies though. Just have to finish the dlc now and I am done with the game until SE5 drops next year. Probably not enough to boost me up to 50%, but it will be close. I started Blue Reflection and should finish it up today or tomorrow to make it my 150th platinum. Got one more trophy in FFXIV. Re-downloaded Dreams to get the DLC trophies to put that back up to 100%. Also re-downloaded Dauntless to see what new trophies would auto-pop. Got a few, at least. I don't have the time to really get into Dauntless now, but maybe next year. For this week, once I finish Blue Reflection I'll plow through a few more easy plats, and then focus on some longer games. I've been messing around with Persona 4 Arena and Ultimax on PS3 again thanks to the remaster announcement. Don't think I'll go for the plats, but there's plenty of easier trophies to nab that will help my completion %. Take care!

Popular Post Spinacheq
Update #49 So this week was better than last week for completion % it was positive!! lol I went up from 82.54% to 82.84%, an increase of 0.30% but still down 0.22% from before I started Skyrim. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (PS4): Making better progress this week, as I finally got to the point were my enchanting and alchemy naturally maxed out to 100. I didn't feel like doing some cheats (Quick leveling guides) for those as it allowed me to play a bit naturally and have some fun. Except I forgot how glitchy this game is on playstation versus pc or xbox. And it would seem that anniversary edition got nothing fixed, instead they add the creation club approved content that if you aren't careful auto downloads, which isn't normally a bad thing. Some of it is interesting and fun, what isn't fun is that that content uses the same memory space as your save files so the 3 auto saves, your normal save and a quick save are all you safely have. if you make a 2nd save file you run the risk of it not loading the creation content appropriately and corrupting your save files, telling you that you only have 0KB left go make some space. This doesn't happen instantly but it was frequent enough for me to spend way too much gaming time figuring out the issue, a work around and restarting from an old save file on a usb backup. Making sure the creation club content didn't all auto-install seems to have fixed it and I haven't had a corrupt save file in about 4 days... *knocks on wood. At this point I decided to use the enchanting/alchemy super buff your armor cheat and now I am invicinible, except the the time I 1 shot a dragon in flight it fell and skidded on the mountain top I was on and pushed me off the edge. I guess falling off a high peak will still kill me lol. Spoiler Upcoming week: Mostly likely more Skyrim (though I am getting a little burnt out on it) Going to see about cleaning up some DLCs I still have kicking around. Maybe get to Syberia 3 which was on my list to get to this year, as well as going back and finishing persona 5, not sure if I can do both before the year end. @Squirlruler I would love to participate next year as well this was fun and I got to meet some new people. If possible please post in here when the new signup listing is up, I sometimes forget to check in the community events, contests and we plays section and I miss some of the sign ups. thanks.
Popular Post Spacey_Dweeb
It's my turn for a weekly ramble... I know I have completely failed my stated goal of hitting 80% this year, so I haven't been mentioning my progress towards that for the past few updates. I got out of the 60s but never made much progress into the 70s. Nowhere close to the 80s. One goal I was mostly successful on was limiting my game spending. I built up a huge backlog buying basically anything I was even a little interested in for a few years, so I now have more games than I could play in a couple years probably. This year, I mostly successfully limited myself to one game per month; some months were even zero. There are some months where I had a small handful of new titles added to the library. I didn't count things like if I got a gift card as a present/bonus and then used that to get a game, or one occasion where my daughter bought herself a game that I also wanted to get. Anyway, what did I play... Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout I was waiting for Season 6 to start to begin working towards the rank 40 in a single season trophy. That season just started so this is now an active game for me. I am pretty bad at this game. Honestly, I barely qualify most rounds. I think I'll have a hard time getting near 100% on this one. I'm playing until I rank up at least once per day and then moving on to my main game. Skyrim Played a little more of this. I don't have much to say on it I haven't already. I'm just going through the motions for the final trophies. I mostly ignored it this week. I was busy with holiday stuff. I also didn't feel good for a few days and didn't game much. I spent more time with the next game down, but mostly because when I sat down to play I wanted to be lazy and didn't feel like getting up to switch the disc back over to Skyrim. My kids are also old enough that if I call them into the room for something stupid like changing my PlayStation disc, they'll just laugh and tell me no and leave the room again. Cyberpunk 2077 I picked this up near Black Friday. I thought one year later this game would be in pretty good shape. However, it's still kind of crappy. Even mostly glitch-free, it still feels meh. Its the bones of the thing that seems wrong. That won't be fixed no matter how many bugs they squash. I don't usually mind playing less than stellar games, I mean I platinumed Anthem and Avengers. I'm fine with having an okay time, as long as I'm being entertained. That's what's happening here. I'm not that into it, but its fine. The story is good enough to pull me along but that's about all the praise I can level at it narratively. Worth the $10 bucks for sure, would have been angry if I spent $60 on it a year ago, especially knowing how buggy it was before. gladiatorrrrrrr
has been my first year so I cannot compare with previous years. think this is a solid approach too. Although the minimum 5% can be for some a huge amount of games Might be an idea to do a game together if that is feasible at all.
ladynadiad
I'd actually suggest to have the minimum goal be based on the number of games played as of when they sign up. For someone who has over 500 games played, even 1% can be quite challenging but for someone who has less than 50 games played, 5% is pretty easy and only would require finishing a few games. Maybe something like starting at 100 games played they can take 1% off the minimum for every 100 games above that with 1% being the bare minimum no matter how many games they've played. That and you definitely want to have something specified for people who are at 95% and above or are pretty much at a point where the minimum for them would be greater than what they need to get to 100%.

Id even go so far as to say let those who join this excellent event define their own goal for the year. Many of us that could, already set higher than 5% goals anyways. And those that couldn't do 5%, still set reasonably lofty goals as well from what I can see. The best part of this event IMO is being able to share and follow along with everyone's progress. It helps keep me motivated.

I think the minimum isn't a bad idea, because it does encourage people who are serious about improving completion to join. It's just that 5% is very difficult for those who have a lot of games, and definitely impossible for anyone above 95% already. Though one other idea I had was that there could be some for fun challenges done each month. Like one or two goals could be picked and everyone who meets it gets a point and then there could be a leaderboard for the points. Challenges could be things like don't start a new game for a month, complete 5 games, earn 100 trophies, earn at least 1 trophy in a game that hasn't been played in over a year, earn at least 5 trophies from PS3 games, etc. Even a bit of friendly competition can be a great motivation and encourage people to be active about posting progress at least monthly.

kingofbattle8174
I like the monthly challenges idea. I have a few thoughts on where to go with it. I think with the challenge you can complete it more than once. Say for January, my first challenge may be to complete the most common plat on your played backlog. Not all challenges will be that simple but I think it is a good one to get people motivated. For me that most common game is The little acre. Point for completing that, then move on to the next most common, In rays of the light. If I were doing this I think I would get three points in the month, the fourth game down os a VN and I dont speed skip those.
Spinacheq
I like all the ideas, though if nothing changed I wouldn't be sad either. I had a great time and like @gruffiiti I enjoyed reading about others adventures in gaming. My only suggestion would be maybe adding a badge for participants. Maybe color swap for those who hit their goal. I would even be willing to beg @Spacey Dweeb to make one.

Another idea could be to go screencap the first page of your trophy advisor and then earn the first 5 or 10 trophies in it. Or go earn 5 trophies in the first game listed. For most that would be pretty easy to knock out.

On you other idea; that will not always work for people as that list can contain unachievable trophies, or from legacy systems, or people don't own the game anymore. This counts more for the ones like me that have a enormous list of unfinished games ? Edited December 16, 2021 by gladiatorrrrrrr
Arophous
Good to see everyone’s progress through the year, I’m actually surprised, while I prob won’t make my goal (due to long MP titles), I am pretty darn close having done some xmas plat hunting on my backlog. So far in Dec I have managed to get Masterminds Trophy in GTA V doomsday hiests which was epic. I got the plat and 100% for Uncharted 4 which and am on track to get Resident Evil HD done before the weekend finishes!! Think I will be going back into Gran Turismo Sport and Fall Guys for the rest of the month and try to finish those off first. started 63.16%, currently 72.28, may hit 73% by end of weekend ? Happy holidays everyone ? and see you for 2022 backlog challenge! edit: I made it to 75% ?!!! Edited December 23, 2021 by Arophous

For someone like me, it's God of War which is at about 19%. Thus my crack about starting something else more common because God of War PS3 isn't an easy plat. Though with that idea your comment about systems and games people don't own also would apply. As far as the other part, it could be allowed to filter by platform to filter out platforms they don't own and also to remove unobtainables and unowned games. Unobtainables hopefully shouldn't show on the first page of the trophy advisor for many since they tend to have low rarity if they were ever obtainable. I think overall if we run with these challenges they should be doable for everyone even if it means ruling out a game or platform.
