100% Bracket Challenge Jan 2021 [Win prizes] [Sign up Closed]

I would like to start the new year with a new contest.
The idea is to motivate/help you clear some of your backlog, ranging from games you just started (or forgot about), the ones you stopped playing for some reason but is staring at you every day to the ones where you are just missing that one hard ultra rare trophy.

So let me introduce “100% Bracket Challenge”!

What?

Clear/Get 100% on 5 games from your backlog and get chance to win a badge and a prize!

 

How?

Complete (get 100%) on 5 games (PS3, PS4, PS5 or Vita) of you choose.
You need to select 1 game within each completion percentage range from your backlog:

Game 1 0% - 20%
Game 2 21% - 40%
Game 3 41% - 60%
Game 4 61% - 80%
Game 5 81%- 99% 

For example:

 

Or really challenge yourself and I will add all your games to my magic spreadsheet and you give me 5 numbers and the 5 games will be randomized! 

Rules

Point system

A trophy is not the same as a “trophy”. Platinum in Red Dead Redemption 2 should (and is) more worth than platinum in My Name Is Mayo. A platinum is also a lot more worth than a bronze. Your commitment and hard work should pay off.

The points are therefore calculated based on how common they are on PSN(Sony) times the value of the trophy (Bronze 15p, Silver 30p, Gold 90p, Platinum 300p)

 

For example:

The silver trophy “Swing You Sinner” in the game Cuphead is 30,61%. 

This would give you 50,7p (100-30,61 = 1,69* 30p).

 

The bronze trophy “Friends With Benefits” in the game Red Dead Redemption is 28,31%. 

This would give you 25,65p (100-28,31 = 1,71*15p)

 

All the trophies you gather will be your total point. 

If you manage to complete all 5 games you will unlock a big bonus of 5000p and get a Badge!

On the 31/1 23:59 the Trophy Logs will be locked with your gathered trophies and the % on how common they are and your total score is calculated.

 

Setup

The contest will start 1/1 2021. The contest duration is a month.
On that date the 5 games you selected need to be with the 5 different competition percentage ranges. 

 

Prize
Anybody how manages to complete the 5 Games will get a custom made Badge!

There will also be prize for the top 3 with the most points:
1) PSN Code $30
2) PSN Code $20
3) PSN Code $10
4) 1000p (to use when/If you enter my next competition)

Interesting! I'd like to enter, but I'm pretty sure I don't have many (if any) games in the middle ranges of completion that I could reasonably finish, since I tend to stick with one game until it's done. Whatever I do have left would require DLC purchases, or re-buying games I no longer own. It's also a bit short notice to get a few games into those percentages (I never saw this thread until now).

 

Game 1 0% - 20% | Alienation
Game 2 21% - 40% | ???
Game 3 41% - 60% | ???
Game 4 61% - 80% | ???
Game 5 81%- 99% | Nex Machina

 

Not sure what I can do? Maybe I could get a couple of games into the 21% - 40% and 41% - 60% ranges, but the 61% - 80% seems unlikely without purchasing an add-on.

I think this contest might not be of any use for you. It's more for us of who have been "sloppy" with our completion %. ?

Good question and I like your ambition level!

Yes, but for those trophies to count in the scoreboard only trophies earned after the 5 Games in the bracket has been completed will be counted.

However you need to "dig" little deeper in you backlog. ? ?

You need to select a game within each of different % completion ranges:

Game 1 0% - 20% = Find a game
Game 2 21% - 40% = Limbo - (33%) or Valiant Hearts: The Great War (23%) or Darksiders II - (21%) or Demons Souls - (27%)
Game 3 41% - 60% = Screencheat - (57%)
Game 4 61% - 80% = Find a game
Game 5 81%- 99% = Find a game

Cuz it said Sony. And Sony has a different rating number then PSNP has, as it counts everyone on PSN in general.

I will try to explain.
 

The calculation will be using how common (the %) the trophy is from Sony (PSN), not PSNProfiles. So the data (%) you see when you look at your trophy list on your Playstation. 

The example I used might be outdated from Cuphead.
 

Correct.
The calculation only takes into consideration two things:
Type of trophy (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) and the % (how common it is)
 

It will not differentiate between a Bronze Ultra Rare or Bronze Uncommon. 
They both are “ Bronze” and will get their % value times 15p.
 

I hope that makes it a bit clearer, otherwise just ping again. ☺️

From that perspective yes.
But I think the big take away is that there is a difference between the trophy value even if a trophy (Bronze and Silver) has the same percentage (Bronze 15p, Silver 30p, Gold 90p, Platinum 300p) when doing the calculation.

this event sounds like fun and I want to sign up. Though as I look at my back log and the percentage brackets I don't think I have enough to get in this month. This is based on the fact that DLC's don't count and the games in some of the brackets either being incompletable (servers shut down or I don't have the game anymore).  I will keep an eye on this those and cheer everyone on, maybe accidentally stage a few of my 0 to 20% to an appropriate level for future months
