Yeah so... @Mori, @Koro249 and myself wanted to play Trine 3 yesterday. You know, we played through the first two games together and bought the 4-game bundle. We fire up the game, not really looking too forward to the game anyways (really not the best series) and... Wait... How can I join a multiplayer game?

 

Turns out, Trine 3 has no online coop ? Fuck this game. 

 

Anyways, we started Broforce instead. I will thus also use my swap to further postpone getting Pier Solar done, and will do Broforce instead:

So demotivating to know that's only the easiest third of the way...

 

I'm really inconsistent, too. I have days where I have the rhythm of the stairs internalized and can make it past the first two about 90% of the time, then there are days like on Friday where I fall off all the freaking time.

 

At least I can make it to the stairs close to every single time.

 

I honestly don't understand why I'm having so much trouble. Maybe it's mostly a head thing, but still. Haven't experienced a blockage like this in any other game.. ?

 

 

Did you get back to Ys?

Man I don't really pay attention to my own completion rate and especially someone elses.. but you not finishing Pier Solar is starting to bug me ? seriously though I'm surprised you haven't finished it yet, is it hard or just annoying?

I might as well do a little update on all my games.

 

BO3: If everything goes well I’ll finish BO3 today. Tonight we’re attempting our final EE. This afternoon I’m cleaning up the final two miscellaneous trophies.

 

DMC5: Started the game. First impression is this will be easier than DMC4. Unfortunately with 7+ playthroughs required this will take months to complete. Because that’s too boring for me and I will need to take breaks from this game.

 

Shadow Warrior: I think I’m going to swap this. Just not in the mood to play anything FPS after all the CoD’s I’ve been playing over the last months. And because I’ve bought the Kingdom Hearts III DLC and after BO3 Mori and I agreed to start Ikaruga I’m thinking of swapping in one of those two games.

 

Ys Origin: But I can only swap Shadow Warrior if I can somehow complete this game. Tried around 10 times in 2021 with the same 10 results. Game crashed. Which takes the total to 50+ game crashes in a row. I honestly don’t know if I want to continue. It drains motivation everytime that game crashes. A small hope could be the PS5, but I might wait at least another year before buying that.

 About Trine 3: maybe Shareplay feature on PS4 to allow coop can help? But you will need a fast internet connection and I read that Shareplay supports maximum 2 players

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - 50% > 77%

 

I've been grinding this game for the past couple of weeks, unfortunately the hardest stuff lies ahead at this stage. What I've left to do:

• Extreme difficulty playthrough [Plant][while collecting 30 Dogtags]
• Snake Tales
• 511 VR/Alternative missions

I've heard that some of the VR missions are a complete nightmare, and apparently Snakes Tales are no walk in the park either. I'll be tacking Extreme difficulty next.. I'm confident with most of the bosses except the first phase of the Arsenal Tengu and the damn Metal Gear Ray's.. absolutely dreading taking them on. This next week should be fun! ?

Hahaha, it's bugging me too ? If you ask the people that completed it they'll probably tell you that it isn't that bad. Probably as annoying / hard as the Jump Rope minigame in FF IX. But for me, I don't know what it is but I just can't do it. I can't bring myself to attempt it for more than 15-20 minutes at a time, either... I get frustrated so quickly, and I just don't understand why. It's only one minigame left for the platinum, and still, after one year break, I still don't have the motivation to just sit down and get it done.

 

So probably not really all that hard, but for me personally, among the most annoying trophies I ever had to get (as you can tell...). I even started using Keyboard instead of the stupid DS4 D-Pad, and it seems to work a bit better.

 

I'll attempt it again in Tier 2... ?

You can do it, Arc!! I don't think I'd have made it through that game without you and @BB-BakkerJ keeping me motivated. That's all you can do, just take breaks when you get frustrated. I played way worse after getting infuriated and I think the day I finally got the first half done, it was only my 2nd or 3rd try that day. You could also try turning the music down, the beat of the song would throw me out of my rhythm. I have confidence in you that you will CRUSH IT NEXT TIER!!

 

Now I need to find myself some motivation for that damn Garden level cheese hunt on I am Bread. It has literally been the only thing barring me from that plat since Dec, and for very good reason! The time required for the A++ requires nothing less than perfection, and when the game tends to be a glitchfest it makes it quite the challenge. It is literally leaps and bounds more difficult than any other level or game mode otherwise. I kind of gave up trying for a month or so until I signed up for this, however have been putting in some practice. It's just a matter of trying not to get riled up when I inevitably fail and sticking it out; I just need to shave ~20 seconds off my best time and I will have that one in the bag! I'm determined at this point to get it done.

Wow, I am so very pleased to be able to cross I am Bread off of my list! I guess motivating myself worked like a charm ? Clocked in the Garden level at 2:19, with a cool 4 seconds to spare. I did not anticipate this being the first thing off of my Tier 1 list, but I am very happy nonetheless! All the bugginess aside, I very much enjoyed this game and the challenge it brought. I found myself having fun once I pushed past all the bullshit this game can throw at you and now I have a shiny new plat that's my 2nd rarest trophy to date. 

 

Tier 1:

Downwell (1.99%) 91% 

I am Bread (0.33%) 100%!

Pixeljunk Nom Nom Galaxy (1.20%) 92%

Next up is finishing these last few MP trophies for Nom Nom Galaxy; no real challenge there, just time consuming since you can only play 1 co-op challenge every 48 hours and I have 4 more to go. Then I will consider whether I will tackle Dandara or SMB shortly thereafter. And of course I'll have to start practicing on Downwell; it's been well over a year since I played, and hard mode is no joke!

And that's my third game semi-completed.

 

This game is, well, flawed. While it boasts a big map, especially for its time, a lot of the map is just the same burning forest over and over again. Due to barely any other people on the road, the entire map just feels empty. Sure there are vista points where you can have a good look at the landscape, but the camera is so godawful you'll never be able to position it in a way so you can actually see what's gong on. 

 

When it comes to gameplay, the game just falls apart. This game isn't hard, but incredibly frustrating. Not once will a lost race or something feel like your fault. The controls are slippery, the top speed feels really forced like in Motorcycle Club (accelerating to a certain speed and suddenly your ride won't speed up anymore), and the cornering. Oh lord the cornering. Anything with more than 2 wheels doesn't turn, it drifts. You'd have better luck making a sandwich with hovercrafts for hands. Thankfully the AI is pitiful, despite the rubberbanding. This made racing challenges as opposed to time trials a joke. However, I have to rant about the Chopper Chases as well. It's the only discipline where you don't get the destination, and when looking up the races online, the Fuel Wiki themselves seemed to hate them. Even worse was that for some reason, the chopper finished too early. I'd be a second faster than the video, but still fail. This is despite being 30 meters ahead according to the HUD. 

 

The entire game feels like a tech demo, and considering they shut the online down like 7 years ago, I can't even plat it (started it when I didn't care about trophies). Codemasters could do a lot better than this, as shown in Colin McRae Dirt. It's honestly a massive letdown, the only good thing is that it counts for this challenge.

 

With my rant over, here's where I stand

Ok, updated everyone (I hope)  Since you all are going crazy with progresses, I will post one for me as well:

 

Persona 4 Arena Ultimax - 90% : After a gruelling spamming of bags and postwoman hats, I completed Marie's stupid trials. I can't believe some dumb ass schoolgirl annoyed me this much with Looney Tunes punches cancelled into Igor Jack-in-a-box. And I wish I made that up. Anyway, only murderman Adachi and floor 200 in Golden Arena left. No idea how to defeat gold Elizabeth, she's an absolute monster. I hope I magically kill her with Die for me! skill.

 

Blazblue Centralfiction - 30% : Not a good start really. Did some matches, tutorial, trials and...I kinda don't like the game  Sure, the OST is exceptional and the characters are .. ahem...bouncy (Makoto is a personal favorite) but the whole game feels abit sluggish and not what I expected. I don't know, maybe I need to play more, but so far I haven't found that character that could really deliver the oomph that I like. And I kinda tried them all in the training room. Maybe Azrael, but in certain situations.

And the genius that I am, I also added Chronophantasma Extended on my list. If I don't like Centralfiction, this will be a struggle...

 

Persona 4 Arena - 32% : God have mercy on my soul with this one...

Crypt is pretty much done. I have done both Coda and the all char low%. The only thing remaining are the dlc trophies and I will clean them up over the next month or so. Next is Trials Fusion.

In.... ......sane!!!!! I have 5 ultra rare platinums I will clean up. Maybe I need to platinum LBP1. There is the Prize Bubble exploit when you search "LBP1 Prizes" and play two LBP1 Prize levels and earn 4 trophies. Also, Boosting the Create trophy can be done on the Gaming Sessions on PSN Profiles (One of your levels can be hearted, and author can be hearted by 30 people), Share trophy requires you to play 150 levels, have 50 tags on the level and have 10 hearted levels, The Play trophy would be a little bit tricky because The Bunker, if you die, you may restart the level from beginning.

It's been a while so I might as well add an update. Haven't completed any other games yet as I have been having fun playing easier than ultra rares. I did however manage to finish the first playthrough of Torment: Tides of Numenera collecting 41/53 of the trophies, with 9 of them being UR. Was slightly annoyed that as hard as I tried, I failed to get 3 of the companions to revere me for the Beloved trophy. Now when I do a 2nd playthrough, I need to get 3 companions to revere me and 3 to hate me in the journey, so it'll be interesting. With the amount of reading required though, I might wait a bit for the next playthrough, which I'll need to plan out a bit for the remaining trophies.

 

Other than that, I grinded out about 15 levels in Defender's Quest, will be hitting that one hard for platinum 100 soon. Binding of Isaac might have been a mistake as that is going to take some serious time commitment, but I'll give it the ole college try. Otherwise I might switch it out for something like Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Everspace, Monster Slayers or one of the other URs sitting on my backlog (unless a ton of people decide to get Slay the Spire and not platinum it so it comes down to UR for the platinum ?). I do plan on finishing at least 1 tier this year for this challenge.

According to PlayStation 2020 wrap up the game I’ve spend most hours on. (Well, apart from Kingdom Hearts 2.5 but those were two games) Big thanks again to my awesome zombie teammates @Mori & @Koro249. It was our fourth CoD in a row. More will probably follow.

 

Also a huge shoutout to @Potent_Delusions for helping us with the Revelations EE and then sticking around and also helping us with the Gorod Krovi EE. Much appreciated!

Black Ops 3 100% done. This was worse than I anticipated. Zombies was alright. Thanks to @BB-BakkerJ and @Koro249 for doing this with me. Also big props to @Potent_Delusions for the help on the last two DLC's Easter Eggs and some misc trophies.

 

The MP and Campaign were the worst part. I did a 16 hour session for the weapon kills/camouflages and I hated my life so much after that. Never again.

Imma sneak one too between all of your Black Ops  Persona 4 Arena Ultimax completed. With 100% also of course.

Way more modern and functional(and way easier duh) than Art of Fighting, soundtrack so awesome it actually distracted me, solid gameplay (except auto-combos, I can press punches myself thank you very much) and well an interesting cast. Plus Gold Arena mode was surprisingly fun, especially since I haven't fought once  Auto Mode FTW!

 

P.S. There's one character who I dreaded : Marie. Screw her and her dumb bag full of dumb shit. Go back to your shitty poems little girl!
