Popular Post Aecesaje_
Completed my third game, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends. Also my rarest platinum, made a bet with my friends when it was free that I would get it done some day. Happy I got it, he can finally shut up about me not doing it ?. I will now take a little brake and do some backlog clean-up, see if I finish Days Gone (besides the Challenge DLC, that will be for Tier 2) and The Last Of Us. I might start Not a Hero or Thief after that (most likely Not a Hero) 1 - Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends (0.73%) - 100% 2 - Thief (3.83%) - 0% 3 - Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (4.50%) - 100% 4 - Extreme Exorcism (1.28%) - 100% 5 - Not a Hero (2.47%) - 0%
Popular Post Koro249
Here comes my first Tier 2 update: I completed the Broforce Ironbro Campaign! Not at all as hard as i would have expected and I'm surprised it has such a low completion rate. I actually really enjoyed the game. When I did the Hard playthrough with @Mori and @Arcesius, as Arcesius already mentioned, it was pretty hilarious because of the chaos we created on screen that constantly had us dying in super dumb ways. The fast-paced gameplay and completely destructible environment coupled with 2D pixel graphics was right up my alley and the 32 Bros that you would unlock during the course of the game were all characters from well known action movie classics (which I watched way too few of). That repeated feeling of 'ohh I know this guy' and checking out their weaponry was also quite exciting. We also started Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide, I won't comment too much as of right now, other than you can tell it's the 1st Vermintide game. Still very enjoyable gameplay nontheless!

Popular Post Together_Comic
Another update for Super Meat Boy - So I didn't manage to hit the goal that I set last week of hitting "the true end" (mostly because I got called into work Saturday, and distracted by hyper light drifter for another event Sunday) but I did manage to get all the A+ for light world, Squirrel Boy, and Blood Clot Boy, and I've got about 4 or 5 more levels in the rapture dark world to complete and cotten alley darkworld. To be honest, I was starting to think that maybe super meat boy may have been overhyped for difficulty since I managed to get squirrel boy and blood clot boy with about 30 minutes to an hour trying on each one, but when I started messing with salt factory dark world and beyond it has definitely picked up and punished me for my hubris. ? Either way, we are slowly making progress. Gonna try for "I'm a Golden God" this week which I guess would necessitate 'the real end' 'old school' and 'retro rampage' as well. Beyond that maybe I can go ahead and get 'brimstone' boy as a stretch goal. In other news, you guys are still wowing me. I've been keeping an eye on @Joe Dubz in particular. They have popped off with Brimstone Boy, Maggot Boy, Missile Boy and Demon Boy this week which is mega impressive as some of those levels I just don't really see how I'm going to do them all without dying ?, but that's future me's problem. Enjoying all the updates, lets keep pushing. ~TC

It is definitely a challenge unlike any other, especially if you're like me and get that anxious feeling when you're just a few levels shy of completion. Agreed that Salt Factory Dark World is really where the difficulty ramps up significantly! The fact that you were able to get as far as Blood Clot Boy to me says you are also able to get them all done. It's just a matter of practice and perseverance for us both I suppose!! With those tougher ones, they all seemed impossible to me initially... However the more I played through and practiced, even the harder levels started to come much easier! For me it's just a matter of not choking and making some stupid mistake to ruin a good run once I'm in the zone. I've also been making regular use of the helpful thread I linked here; if you look at OP's original post, they included tons of helpful tips and suggestions for each set of levels. Just to give you a quick heads up for Golden God, the requirements on the trophy guide if you've been using it aren't exactly right. Pretty much everything contributes to your overall completion %, including collecting bandages, completing both the regular and "glitched" retro zones (glitched ones aren't required for Retro Rampage), and even just completing The End and Cotton Alley levels. I was getting concerned my game glitched out when I didn't pop the trophy at 100% total completion, but it popped for me once I hit 103%. So just a fair warning once you cross that bridge!!
Popular Post Dzware
I just finished my first Tier 2 game in Kung Fu Panda! I didn't expect much, but boy was it boring lol. The only reason to play this is for that sub 1% plat. At least it was easy though, so the only frustration came from a few times the online progress didn't save, so it took me and my partner quite a bit longer than it should have. Tier 2 Catherine (PS3, 1.27%) - 5% Futuridium (PS4, 0.08%) - 0% Kung Fu Panda (PS4, 0.73%) - 100% Limbo (PS4, 2.11%) - 0% Lumo (PS4, 0.70%) - 0% Next game I'll complete is probably Futurdium, as I want to do that while I still remember some of the levels from doing it on Vita. Will do some Catherine on the side and probably only start the last 2 games when I'm done with these 2.
Popular Post GraniteSnake
Finally finished MGS2, my first game of the challenge. It's also my 200th platinum and a really satisfying milestone to have. Overall it wasn't nearly as difficult as I was expecting it to be, but it sure was time consuming. I clocked in 26 hours for the VR missions alone (add another ~10 for YouTube guides) and roughly 35 hours for all of the dogtags (one of these was my original run watching every cutscene). Toughest part of the game? I'd have to say MGS1 Snake's Hold Up 07. That VR mission alone took me almost 70 attempts, failing within the first 5 seconds the majority of the time. There's quite a gap between that and the next toughest mission in my opinion. Toughest boss on Extreme difficulty was the Metal Gear Ray's, pretty much every other boss can be cheesed in some way making them all quite straightforward. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (4.96%) - 100% Killzone: Mercenary (3.96%) - 67% EA Sports UFC 2 (1.56%) - 88% [PS4] Mighty No. 9 (0.80%) - 17% Worms Battlegrounds (1.17% ; 0.43%) - 26% I'll probably work on UFC 2 next, it's just a matter of grinding fights in offline ultimate team until I reach 100,000 coins in winnings from fights.
Popular Post dertswa687o
Tier 1: 1. Crash 4 (3.78%) 2. Hyper Light Drifter (2.39%) - 100% 3. Dariusburst: Chronicle Saviors (0.45%) 4. SteamWorld Dig 2 (4.00%) - 100% 5. Dead Cells (3.64%) I said I was going to do Dead Cells next but I ended up doing SteamWorld Dig 2 since it was shorter. Honestly it's not a difficult plat at all. You have to do a 100% speedrun with no deaths but it's easy to get around the no death part by simply closing the application when you die. I had to do some minor grinding to be able to buy all the upgrades, which I thought was a bit weird since this game is all about mining resources. Like, you'd think there would be enough resources on the map to get everything but there definitely isn't. So you have to farm kills to get drops that you can sell for more money. I played the first game a while ago and honestly don't remember it well enough to make a comparison. But I'd recommend this game to anyone wanting to play a short metroidvania.

Popular Post CriesOfFurya
And another update from me as well as I'm getting closer to the end of my Tier 2. Here are the games: Mortal Kombat X (1.75%) - 100% (74/74) Frozen Synapse Prime (2.28%) - 77% (24/30) > I will have to switch this one out for Games of Glory (0.07%) - 90% (12/13) as the servers are shutting down. F.E.A.R. 3 (2.55%) - 0% (0/51) Sniper Elite 3 PS3 (3.65%) - 100% (71/71) Sniper Elite 3 PS4 (3.95%) - 100% (71/71) Mortal Kombat X This one was already sitting at 98% and I was just using it as filler for my Tier 2, I actually did the whole thing during my Tier 1 because the invasion boss fight returned during that time and thankfully a hidden fighter in a live tower as well. The game itself was absolutely fantastic, but the trophies were very repetitive and boring. The 10-hit combo with every fighter was pretty easy, as it's just a launcher, combined with some light punches and then a grab/ X-Ray for almost all of them. I can't even imagine how easy that would be with the juggler modifier trick.... Sniper Elite 3 (PS4) Shout-out to my partner @Potent_Delusions for playing the whole game and the DLC in co-op with me, as we have done for Sniper Elite 4 as well. As we are really good in planning ahead, we decided to go with SE4 first, then SE3 and lastly we'll do SE2, just as the devs would have intended it for people who want to enjoy the whole Sniper Elite series. This one would have been a pretty amazing co-op game, if you didn´t have to beat it on Authentic difficulty..... The awareness of the enemies gets cranked up to 11/10 for this, as they will hear you walking upright, from about 15 metres away, so the only way to actually stealth a mission would be to beat the whole thing crouching and walking dauntingly slow. Because of this design flaw (which they thankfully fixed in SE4), you pretty much can't play the game as intended and you will just shoot your way through every new area like John Rambo and after that you have to play Sherlock Holmes, retracing all of your steps in order to find the MOVABLE collectibles (which can even de-spawn)..... All in all it will give you some fun moments, but overall this was not enjoyable for either one of us and I think the continuation of the series was a lot better. The German in the game was also ridiculous, like the other native speakers @Mori and @Koro249 already pointed out. I actually managed to get the fastest time for this one, but it's not really the best time as my partner and I never played the game before, but we still got through it in under 2 days. Sniper Elite 3 (PS4) Pretty much the same as the PS4 version, just with worse graphics. The old problems were still there, but thankfully nothing new. I managed to get a decent time for this game as I played this version just a few days after finishing the other version. This one took less than a day and it was a good little trophy boost and a quick UR platinum. Just 2 more games away from finishing the Sniper Elite series, which will be followed by the Zombie Army series afterwards. Just 2 games away from finishing this Tier and thankfully Games of Glory is almost done at this point (I will talk more about that steaming pile of s*** in my next update). Fear 3 won't be annoying at all as I have some pretty good memories of it and I'll be tackling the co-op of this one with one of the British sweats I've met on BO3 when that was still alive Happy hunting to everyone and stay strong guys!

The two games can be a little tricky to compare because Splasher offered a much wider range of challenges than VVVVVV with three full game speedrun variants, really tight individual level speedruns, and a deathless run. So, what I will focus on is comparing the deathless runs for both games. Deathless in Splasher is long at around 40-50 minutes for a full run. However, like SMB, deathless runs are somewhat exploitable. You can pause mid-run and restart any level you're currently on which can save you if you know you're about to die. Deathless in VVVVVV is much shorter, typically ranging from 15-20 minutes, but there are several sections, like the Gravitron, that demand more precision than what is on offer in Splasher (the speedruns being an exception). Unlike Splasher, the run cannot be exploited. The difficulty of both deathless runs felt comparable to me so I'm hesitant to argue for one being definitively "harder" than the other. However, all of the additional speedrun challenges in Splasher push the game ahead of VVVVVV in overall difficulty (in my opinion at least) as they will put your precision, speed, and accuracy to the test quite a bit more than VVVVVV does.

Most of the time I'd find myself dead before I could react to a mistake in games like Splasher or SMB, but pause and restart can definitely help in certain situations. I could definitely see VVVVVV being a little tighter platforming wise, and maybe even having a little more jank. Gravitron is definitely a force to be reckoned with regardless. The length of the deathless is definitely more appealing than Splasher, as I'd much rather focus for 15-20 minutes than 42 if the overall requirement is comparable. I find it hard to want to start a run of something longer sometimes since the time investment is really draining upon a failure. I'd almost say that the 100% speedrun is more rough than the deathless in Splasher for me given the duration is a little over an hour. Although, at least it does allow for some mistakes. Popular Post Mori
Shadow Warrior done. This game was a treat. I expected a grim and dark game, instead it was 'lighthearted' and fun. Sure it is gory, you dismember humans and demons, body parts are flying all over the place, but the protagonist(s) always have a joke on their lips no matter the situation. I am excited for Shadow Warrior 2, which I am going to play with @Koro249 in COOP. (Hurry up please! )

Popular Post AuburnDRM
I'd like to report my first Most Wanted completion of the event! Splasher is done! I first completed this game back on PC about 2 years ago, and have been somewhat been looking for an excuse to go back--and this event fit perfectly. I'd say that this game is likely the hardest completion I've done to date. It's really a shame that it doesn't seem like many people have played it, as I feel it's overall a fantastic platformer. The deathless run and full game speedruns are definitely daunting, but I'd absolutely recommend playing it even as a casual platforming experience. The platforming is extremely tight and the level design flows really well. If time attacks are your thing (both individual level and various full game runs) I'd recommend this even more. It's quite satisfying to shave times down below the platinum requirement and even moreso if you're into leaderboards. The game also does a great job at introducing new mechanics and powers to the player in a smart and approachable way. By the end, it really does feel great to be using everything learned along the way to climb and bounce through the stages. There a few small cutscenes and "story" bits, but the focus of this game is almost purely on the platforming. And to close up with a little trivia--the director for Splasher was a game/level designer on Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends. Downwell was the other game I completed recently. If you're looking for an arcadey platformer with roguelike elements, this is your game. The art goes a long way with such a limited pallette and controls are fairly tight. There's a bit of a learning curve to this one, but it's manageable after a number of runs. There are different styles that the player can choose which play at strengths of a few different playstyles. I think the one I cleared with was boulder, which has increased HP with the drawbacks of falling a bit faster, not getting as much height on a stomp, and having one less perk to pick from after each stage. It took a little bit getting used to, but in the end it became my favored playstyle. Splasher (2.33%) Downwell (2.00%) Ongoing games: Spoiler Trials Fusion (0.1%) Cloudberry Kingdom (0.09%) Tetris Effect (0.47%) Jump King (3.08%) OlliOlli 2 (0.62%) -- 25/27 trophies earned, waiting on dailies Tricky Towers (1.04% / 0.79%) Lapis x Labyrinth (2.94%) -- 6/24 trophies earned, this will probably be a bit of a grind
