Popular Post Sword
Honestly I just gotta say... thank you for hosting this event. What I'm about to write is more of a declaration of being finished trying to be a "completionist" and more a dedication to try new things: I've been doing a lot of back and forth about joining this event because I didn't wanna "screw up" my % completion by starting games that would either be too hard for me or that I'd get bored with and not come back too. In fact, whenever I looked at a game with an ultra rare I'd "nope" right out of there. To be honest, I've come to realize that hiding behind my obsession for my % completion has been preventing me from even trying some fantastic/different games out there just because they might be a little difficult or require some dedication above the normal. I've been feeling completely chained by my inability to let go of my % completion aspiration and to be quite honest I'm not having fun anymore trophy hunting by avoiding games just because they present some challenge. It's really been bugging me for months and really made me think hard about why I was holding onto my % completion so tightly. Some of you guys have insane skills and dedication. I might not be able to do those sorts of things, but I know that living in my shell of fear of losing my % completion is no way to continue. I someday hope to reach 100 ultra rare trophies, maybe even 1000 someday over the years, who knows. I started Super Meat Boy, but have been unable to complete it, which originally was super frustrating for me and I went through this phase of "it ruined my account"... but... I actually had fun with the game, even though it's been a pain in the butt! Sure, I don't think I'll be able to complete it but it has been the motivator I needed to let go and try new things. So I want to try to start small by committing to some games that I know I can complete while throwing in a few that I've wanted to try but have been too scared to attempt (but I still think are doable for me, we shall see). If I manage to pass even a single tier I'll try to start looking for slightly harder challenges, to try and break the chains of being so obsessed with my % completion. And if I can't complete something, well hey, at least I tried ya know? So here is my Tier 1 list based on what I think I can achieve as a starter: 1) Star Ocean: The Last Hope Remaster (NA/PS4) - 0.89% 2) Tales of Zestiria (NA/PS4) - 3.64% 3) Hyper Light Drifter - (NA/PS4) - 2.35% 4) Fall of Light (NA/PS4) - 3.56% 5) Rogue Legacy (NA/PS4) - 2.95% Rogue Legacy was recommended by @Mesopithecus and @dertswa687o. To some this may seem really easy. To me though, I've never played a rogue like in my life AND I suck at platformers (Super Meat Boy...) so it'll be challenging enough but looks like it's still very doable if I am persistent enough. I'd like to use it as a test to see if I even like the genre before trying the one I have been wanting to try for years: The Binding of Isaac. Hyper Light Drifter is much the same. It looks really cool and has some "no death" trophy and that 800 drift in a row challenge. Intimidating to me, but challenge accepted! Star Ocean 4 on the other hand has held a place in my heart for years and I have been unable to complete it to 100% after attempting it 3 times across different Xbox accounts. The farthest I've ever gotten is 80% battle trophies. I want to finally commit to completing it and placing it in my trophy collection forever. Not a "hard" game by any means, but it's been a thorn in my side that I want to squash. Cheers to the hunt and the cause of supporting a good cause! Hopefully I can still join this event. If not please ignore my ramblings and I'll join next year. (As an aside I'm going to get rid of the "Completionist" tag and change my stuff on that at some point because I wanna be rid of that way of thinking. I just wanna trophy hunt from now on without fear of meeting someone else's expectations: including my own. Gotta think of a new tagline and "About me" description now. Haha).

This is actually really common across all platforms. Average Game Completion % is a nice metric, but it is sometimes extremely limiting in what people are willing to play. There's nothing wrong with having that be your main goal in the hobby, but I'm really glad that you're trying to kick the focus since it was impacting your fun. It can be a good thing to step outside our comfort zone and try new things and know that it's alright to stop if we're not feeling it. Personally, I don't push myself unless I really enjoy a game. A part of being able to take on bigger challenges comes from exactly that--experience with a variety of games and not having the pressure in the back of the mind about "needing" to finish something. The more stress you can take out of a situation, the better. Thankfully, this event also allows us to swap games up to 5 times, so don't be afraid to use them! Popular Post zajac9999
Tier 2: Laser League - 98% Extreme Exorcism - 100%% Laser Disco Defenders (Vita) - 57% Not a Hero - 100% Nova 111 - 0% I've finished my second Tier 2 game, Not a Hero. This was actually a really fun game so I'm glad that I did it. It reminded me a bit of Hotline Miami, I'll either finish Laser League or Laser disco defenders next. I don't play the vita a lot outside of commuting to work etc, so it depends whether or not I actually bother to play it at home. I need to start thinking about my Tier 3 list soon also I guess.
Popular Post JrsAlster
Hi all, hope everyone is doing well. It has been a while since I signed up for this event and I have been working on both GTA V and Trackmania including some other cleanup that is not a part of this contest. I can now proudly say that I am done with Trackmania Turbo and I achieved my beloved platinum yesterday! What a journey! It has been filled with excitement, frustration and of course the wonderful feeling of mastery with this one. Glad to be done with it so my blood pressure can relax a little bit.. Still a lot of good memories and I am glad I got to enjoy it and also achieve the platinum.I have to give credits to the developers because the Trackmania games are really unique! I have also been working on the criminal mastermind and elite challenges on GTA V with some friends and the 4p criminal mastermind is done, 3p nearly done and we also did the first elite challenge. Definitely getting some more progression on this game in the upcoming weeks, then it is over to Zombies on CoD WWII and Bozak Horde and parkour on Dying Light! 1. Grand Theft Auto V (96%) 2. Call of Duty WWII (83%) 3. Dying Light (84%) 4. Trackmania Turbo (51%) 100% 5. Sniper Elite 3 (0%) Keep up the good work everyone!

Varhur
So, since PS3 store shutdown has been confirmed, I'll be using 2nd swap to replace Greedfall with The Evil Within (PS3) New list: 1. Dante's Inferno (0.82% full completion, rarest trophy 4.44%) - 100% 2. Worms Battlegrounds (1.17% platinum, 0.43% full completion) - 100% 3. Mortal Kombat (0.61% platinum) - 58% --> 84% 4. Hive: Altenum Wars EU (0.91% platinum) Prototype (PS3) (3.18% platinum) - 0% 5. Greedfall (4.87% platinum) - The Evil Within (4.54% platinum, 1.58% full completion)
Popular Post SwiftlyPaws
1) Cities Skylines (Plat 2.72%) 35/37 Trophies base game. 2) Red Dead Redemption 2 (Plat 2.22%) 22/52 Trophies 3) Little Dragons Café (Plat 3.34%) 20/22 Trophies 4) Doom (Plat 4.36%) 6/20 Trophies 5) Tropico 5 (Plat 2.27%) not started I finished my 3rd game, Tropico 5 and I don't know why this game has multiple ultra rare trophies. It's not hard, it won't take forever like Cities Skylines and most trophies you can get in a sandbox game. I might use a swap on Little Dragons Café, I'm going to give it another try but if I don't get a recipe I'm done. The game is fun but getting those last 10 recipes is unbelievable boring.
Popular Post zajac9999
Laser League - 98% Extreme Exorcism - 100%% Laser Disco Defenders (Vita) - 100% Not a Hero - 100% Nova 111 - 0% Finished my 3rd Tier 2 game - Laser Disco Defenders. I quite liked this game, the premise is pretty straightforward and the playthroughs are short which makes it easy to pick up and play for a short time, perfect for the vita imo. I'll start Nova 111 now on the vita also and hopefully be done with this tier in a week or so.
Kcrack_Km
Apologies if it's already been answered (and I'm aware the rules have already been changed), but will there be any special circumstances for swapping ps3 games due to the store closure? I'm aware we're still good until July but I wouldn't put it past Sony to kill online functionality at the drop of a hat. I'm still gonna be playing my ps3 regardless, but a good chunk of those games are UR so it would be nice to still use them to raise money ITT. Popular Post Mori
Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide done. I swapped games yesterday but I have been working on V1 the past 3 weeks with my fellow comrades @Arcesius, @Floriiss and @Koro249. We wrapped up the COOP portion yesterday and I only had a little solo grind left. Vermintide 2 was one of the best games I have ever played, so Vermintide 1 was a no-brainer. V1 is great, but inferior in all aspects to V2 and that is a good thing. They took everything that made V1 great and improved it by a ton. Faster and more fluent combat, enemy variety, skill trees, different roles for each character, better level design and so on. But I am not here to praise V2 again, but to give V1 a proper compliment for creating a unique (COOP) gaming experience that, to my knowledge, hasn't existed before back in the day. It is fun and challenging and a blast to play with friends. Unfortunately it is not a game for solo player, the AI companions are more than bad (V2 improved it as well) which makes higher difficulties, the games real meat, only a frustrating experience. Difficulty-wise V1 was easier than V2, but only because V2 teached us everything we needed to know. Trophy-wise V1 is too much of a grind. I am glad difficulty related trophies were included, but grinding 200 Endurance batches and reaching level 100 prolonged the playtime from roughly 30-35 hours to 80 hours. There are also RNG related DLC trophies for getting specific weapons. You cannot craft them, you have to finish specific DLC levels and hope the RNG is on your side. It isnt guarenteed your needed weapon is part of the reward pool, and if it is, better hope you roll the correct amount of dices to get it. It is bad. But.. all things considered I enjoyed my time with Vermintide 1 and I am excited for Vermintide: Darktide, as well as Necromunda: Hired Gun. Both games are going to take place in the 40k universum, though Necromunda is going to be a FPS, which seems to have a lot in common with DOOM, Titanfall 2, even Dishonored if I remember correctly .. yeah, better check it out yourself. It looks good. And Darktide is going to be good, I am certain of that. Edited March 30, 2021 by Mori
Popular Post Copanele
Ok so, considering that the PS3 stores are shutting down, I wish to add an extra modification to the rules. Since we didn't foresee the fact that Sony would axe the PS3/Vita stores, and most probably the entire online servers while they are at it, we decided to make a small update : New revision: You can purge/reset your current tier list free of charge, without losing the points from your currently completed games. YOU WILL lose the Tier progress however. You MUST have at least 2 PS3 games on your new list. If you have only one game, you can use a swap instead. This is available only until 30th of April. After this date this rule revision will be removed. Brief example for @willythom88 and @Kcrack_Km,since you asked for PS3 related switches. A list example: Star Ocean Till the end of Time Epic Mickey 2 Jackbox Party Pack 3 - completed Vessel(Replacing Tales of symphonia) Rainbow Moon(Replacing the Bit Trip) For this example, you can: Keep your current choice and use 2 swaps. Reset your entire Tier list (You will recover those saved swaps, the PS3 games will stick in the list, however you will lose the Tier progress from JackBox Party. Game itself will still count as a point on your overall score) Of course, we recommend you to focus on the online trophies first and then add the games with the offline trophies left in a future Tier, since the games will still be downloadable even after store closure + you won't lose any Tier progress or swaps like this. But that is entirely up to you Edited March 31, 2021 by Copanele
willythom88
So @Copanele just so I'm clear, if I were to reset my Tier, I would retain Vessel and Rainbow, but then pick 3 other titles? Or would I be picking 5 new titles, as long as 2 are PS3 games? Not a problem either way, just curious if I'm understanding correctly.

With the tier reset you will pick any 5 new titles , as long as 2 of them are PS3. For your specific example I wanted to mention that you can recover your 2 swaps if you wish to do so I noted you down in the spreadsheet because at the time it was only a rumor. willythom88
Ok cool that works, suppose then I will be using this Tier reset/2 swap get back then to knock out some non Platinum games done. So, I'll submit this new list. I'm going for broke, if I can't do it, so be it but I'm going to at least try for some tough ones (Epic Mickey I'm too far into both my playthroughs so screw it, sticking with it). 1) The Fancy Pants Adventures - PS3 - 2.03% 2) Castlestorm - PS3 - 3.10% 3) Stealth Inc - PS3 - 0.31% 4) Ninja Pizza Girl - PS4 - 2.67% 5) Epic Mickey 2 - PS3 - 1.62%
Static_Rook
Ooh, that Tier reset is tempting. I've got a lot of PS3 fighting games that are probably in "now or never" territory. If I can't knock out the remaining 3 games in my Tier 1 in the next week or two I'll have to consider it. Thanks for the rule update!

Popular Post Arcesius
Alright, double-posting! ? First game in Tier 2 completed: Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide @Mori already wrote pretty much everything that needs to be said about this game when he completed it yesterday. Our group (@Mori, @Koro249 and @Floriiss) completed Vermintide 2 for Tier 1 earlier this year, and already after the second or third session we decided that we would be going for the original game as well... V2 was, also for me, one of the biggest surprises when it comes to gaming, and is without a doubt one of the best games I've ever played (and definitely the best coop-game I've ever played). V1, while still a lot of fun and a good game per se, is worse than V2 in all aspects that matter. Most importantly, it is more difficult to get hooked by the game due to the lack of variation in terms of classes, the missing skill-trees, and the online lobbies are all usually for Easy / Normal / Hard runs.. Almost nobody is running Nightmare / Cataclysm on PS4 these days, so it is difficult to play solo since bots are pretty much useless in this game. But being worse than V2 is not very difficult, and End Times - Vermintide was still a fantastic and challenging game . And sure, the game was a great experience, but fuck me the grind was a bit too much... 200 Endurance Badges and reaching level 100 took roughly 30 hours, while we completed everything else in about the same time.. In April, the next DLC for V2 is coming out on PC.. I really, really hope that it will make it to consoles soon, and while it sucks that Warhammer: Darktide is going to be a timed Microsoft exclusive, I cannot wait for it to come to the PS at some point. I said it already, but I'll say it again.. if you have a group of 4, do yourself a favor and play these games (or at least V2) Now, as for my next game... I am currently playing FF7R and probably won't start anything for this event until next week. I might do Rise & Shine next, but I definitely want to get to Splasher sooner than later... We'll see! Popular Post Joe Dubz
MOST WANTED TARGET ACQUIRED!! I am absolutely stoked to announce that I have conquered the BEAST that is Super Meat Boy!!! My hands are still shaking right now I'm so pumped!! Funny enough, this was my first attempt today, died once on level 7-2x then just breezed right through the rest. This just goes to show you can teach an old dog new tricks!! A huge thank you again to @S_y_n_e_IR_g_Y for your post with tons of helpful tips and tricks, I don't think I'd have made it through without these for a reference when I was struggling! I have to say I am so very glad this is over, Impossible Boy has to be one of the most demoralizing experiences I have ever had in gaming! 10/10 would not do that again ? The rest of the trophies felt like a cake walk compared to Cotton Alley dark levels. I knew at the start that would be the only one that really mattered in the end, but I'm glad I persisted and stuck it out. Definitely my most proud plat to date ? Here is a video of my Impossible Boy run, in case you are interested: Oddly enough, Share Factory somehow cut the last 10 seconds out where I cross the finish line at the very end and skipped ahead?! Dunno how the hell that happened, but honestly I don't really care all that much. Just glad it is done. My final death count total sits at 12,248; I'd be curious to see how others stacked up in that regard!! I think I did pretty well, but hard to tell without knowing how many deaths it took others. Tier 1: Dandara (3.03%/2.26%) 100% Downwell (1.99%) 91% I am Bread (0.33%) 100%! Pixel Junk Nom Nom Galaxy (1.19%) 100%! Super Meat Boy (0.22%) 100% Alright, now that I finally have that one out of the way, I can continue to focus on Downwell. That hard mode is just absolutely BRUTAL!! I've made it to the end boss twice now in the last few days, however that arsehole is a bullet sponge and requires quite a bit of precision to avoid all the chaos that is happening while trying to face them. I will get it tho sooner or later!! For my sanity's sake, I have been playing a few other things in between these games; Extreme Exorcist and Not A Hero. I will most likely add these on to Tier 2, or swap Downwell out to Tier 2 if I get close to finishing one of these first. I have also been eyeing up Bless Unleashed, which I have been considering for the next tier as well. I plan to make things a little easier on myself for this next tier after driving myself nuts trying to finish SMB and Downwell! Glad to see all the progress everyone is making, happy to be part of such an elite group of gamers over here in the UR Cleanup challenge!
