Popular Post KindaSabbath
Thanks to the super helpful tips from @Evil_Joker88 and @Arcesius I ended up with a massive list of games which I've had to narrow down! @Copanele I'd like to jump in if that's cool? My first 5 are all games that I'd like to play regardless of trophies. But since as it's for a good cause, I will aim to get them all! My list: Furi Hyper Light Drifter Nex Machina Rise & Shine Vanquish I decided to pick games that look awesome but games that will be a challenge for me, again, it's for a good cause so I'm all in. I will try my best to get through this list before the end of the year. Unfortunately I don't have buckets of free time due to work and family. I'll probably keep some more casual games going along side these to break things up if I start getting frustrated.

KindaSabbath
@Copanele Thanks mate! Looking forward to playing through these games! @Arcesius I'm not sure if it's on offer where you are but Vanquish is 60% off for me right now at £7.99 GBP on the psn store. Also would like to ask if this thread is an appropriate place to post progress/frustrations and talk tips with others involved? Or is that better done in the respective forum for the game I'll be playing? I've listed my games in the order I intend to tackle them, although that could change lol. Furi is one I'm most hyped to play as it just looks like my sort of game! Vanquish is just about Ultra Rare though by the looks of it, so would it be wise to start with that instead?
Popular Post JrsAlster
Its close to 4 months since my last update but I have slowly been working on my list. I have now completed GTA V's elite and criminal mastermind challenges in the doomsday heist, Kung Fu Panda: Showdown of Legendary Legends and Dying Light's Parkour challenges and the Bozak Horde! Hopefully my last tier 1 game, Sniper Elite 3 will be started this week so I can move on to tier 2. Good job everyone, it is incredible to see how much money that has been raised so far! 1. I would start with Furi, imo when it comes to tough games it's better to go for the ones you're excited to play - makes it feel easier to push through the more challenging parts! In other news, I might as well give a bit of an update while I'm here, I've made some progress on my next UR for my tier 2 this week by playing Tropico! It's definitely the easiest game on this tier so it's pretty relaxing and I enjoy this kind of game so I doubt it'll take too long to finish... except for the fact I don't have the DLC (I actually thought I did because I have it on PC)! I'm hoping it will go on sale again soon, but at least I'll aim for the plat for now. I've also begun to invest time into Unravel 2 again and it's pretty rough; the last level I need has a target time of 13 mins, my best time is 13:13, but I don't think I've come close to that again! I don't mind it being difficult, but the lack of in-game clock or telling you what time you achieved on any given attempt is frustrating... that, and sitting through the opening over and over lol. If I don't do it this week I might try and aim for the bonus levels trophy instead and come back to this one afterwards. Popular Post Copanele
Well, the third entry in Tier 4 completed Yakuza Kiwami - achieved Monkey King: Hero is Back- + ? achieved Blazblue Continuum Shift(PS3) - + ? achieved Persona 4 Arena(PS3) Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3(PS4) I found that this game had an UR by surprise. I did intend to play this game anyway, so the DLC was a welcoming addition. I think the DLC is an UR because not many bothered to even play this game and there's barely any info about it online. Anyway a chill game, abit boring from time to time, abit frustrating also for someone who can't handle platformers, reminds me of old games where you hopped from platform to platform and collected fruits. Now for the next one...I know for sure I will complete UMvC3, but I might switch Persona 4 Arena due to burnout. Don't want to overdo it

SS and Y0 have been on hold for a while for complete different reasons, but I hope this helps me to get back to them, and finally there's Thumper which I'm enjoying so much right now, I had forgotten how much I love rhythm games since the Guitar Hero fever ended. I would recommend starting with the games you really want to play. You have five swaps available in case you decide to take on another game that's not on your list, so if you get to the point where you have only Vanquish left and don't feel like playing it, you can swap it for something else I think it makes more sense to play the games you are looking forward to first. 12 hours ago, Copanele said: I actually waited for Arcesius to answer to that but heh he snoozes he loses Haha yeah I barely have time during the day to check what's going on around here, and especially with my phone it's a PITA to quote messages and whatnot ? Popular Post ExistentialSolid
Tier 5 Update ClusterTruck (1.09%) - 100% There's something strangely therapeutic about leaping from truck to truck like a raving lunatic. When you're lost in the moment, hurtling through the air at ridiculous speeds and frantically looking for a place to land, you won't have any brain power left over to think about why you've started this game to begin with. It's like the gaming equivalent to alcohol; you can just forget your troubles and melt away into the game's utter lunacy. There's only one hard trophy for completing the game without any of the abilities you can buy in the in-game shop and you don't even have to worry about any annoying collectibles or story-related nonsense. Just leap and forget. Action Henk (0.48%) - 100% From the time I started Action Henk back in January until the last trophy popped some odd 30 hours and 6 months of off-and-on play later, my impressions have been generally mixed. The gameplay basics, like jumping and sliding, feel great. The gameplay intricacies (aka the stuff you need to learn to beat the "Rainbow Medal" times), like leaping out of down-hill slopes for extra speed or double-jumping up near-vertical surfaces to gain height, feel frustratingly obtuse and unintuitive. In fact, I wouldn't have this 100% at all were it not for the videos of badBlackShark holding my hand every step of the way. I don't think I've ever played a platformer with such a steep learning curve and I can't say for sure whether that curve was even worth surmounting. Sonic Mania (1.77%) - 100% It's Sonic, just as you remember him from the good 'ol days...except you'll probably be spending most of your time playing Blue Sphere (y'know, that one mini-game from Sonic 3&K you had to play to grab the Chaos Emeralds) if trophies are your top priority. Sonic was fun ?; Blue Sphere can get lost though. ? >In Progress: Raiden IV: Overkill This PS3 shmup has been tearing me to shreds. ? Even with excessive pause-buffering, I've been seriously struggling with the 1CC trophies. Runs can last anywhere between 2-4 hours depending on how heavily you pause-buffer and on how many breaks you need to take (pause-buffering on a PS3 controller can be painful on the wrist after awhile, so breaks are important). But, because of how long these runs can last, failure is gut-wrenching and demoralizing especially when it only takes 1-2 seconds of careless play to lose a life. I'm taking an extended break for now and hoping to make a stronger push for the platinum towards the end of the month and throughout August. Popular Post Koro249
Hello everyone, it‘s been a while. I‘ve finished one of my Tier 3 games a while ago: Enter the Gungeon Let me tell you: this one didn‘t disappoint at all and I see why people put it up there when talking about the best Rogue-Lites. After being a huge fan of The Binding of Isaac and also enjoying some Nuclear Throne, I had some pretty high expectations for this one and at first I must say, I felt a little disappointed. The run progression felt very slow, the selectable characters were only a handful and seemed to have only minor differences and I was not a fan of collecting gun after gun after gun instead of getting actual items that could create synergies (like in Isaac). Frankly, I was even getting a bit frustrated because I didn‘t seem to perform too well and felt like there‘s not much I can improve (common mistake, turns out I was very wrong). So I kept playing the game, because I already started and now wanted to finish the trophies despite not having too much fun. And then it came creeping… as I was getting better and better at the earlier stages, learning enemies behavior and patterns, how to use the room to my benefit, flawlessly beating some earlier bosses and unlocking more and more items and guns that became increasingly exciting I suddenly felt it… This game is awesome. I got sucked into that flow and as soon as I finally managed to kill the final boss for the first time, I couldn‘t let go. The sense of improving and doing slightly better in every run is so great in this game. You start to learn which weapons suit which enemy types and get used to switching them around. Thanks to the unlocks you now start to find items that can provide you with awesome synergies (like in Isaac, yay) and suddenly you‘re the king of the gungeon and when you look back at how you were doing just a couple days ago, you feel like a real pro . If you enjoy rogue-likes, give this game a shot and don‘t put it off to early. It‘ll be worth it. On another note: Sadly, I want to remove The Elder Scrolls Online from my Tier 3 because it is too much of a time sink for now. I have a good replacement though - Wolfenstein II - The New Colossus I already have it at 99%, missing only the notorious „Mein Leben“ Trophy. I‘m wrapping up my practice and will start full runs very soon. I‘m really enjoying it and have a good feeling about this.

Hands down the worst Arc System Works game i've played. The core gameplay is average at best. It feels clunky and stiff to play compared to modern fighters so i feel it's a fighting game best left in the past. I do like some of the characters but the overall 2.5d look of the game does no favours to what they were going for here with the character designs. The Heat mode is an interesting mechanic that makes your character 'heated' and allows for stronger versions of existing moves and even allows for moves to be executed that are unique to the Heat mode. The Gachi system, otherwise known as the parry is the cool looking 'tryhard' mechanic designed to emulate Street Fighter 3's popularised parry system. For some reason this game has the single most amount of UR trophies I've seen in any game. I got near 50 UR trophies from this game alone and I realise more people may jump onto this game after hearing me say that but there is one trophy I'll talk about that is considered to make this game a difficult completion. The Gachi move is tied to what many consider the single hardest trophy in the game and the Platinum blocker - You Want Me To WHAT? ( 'In single-player arcade mode, on a difficulty higher than NORMAL, survive Deathbringer's Apocalypse Flame attack and win the round with full health.) This aptly named trophy did scare me a bit when first starting the game as it is effectively asking you to parry each of Deathbringer's 22 hits in his Super Special move in order to not take chip damage and end the round with a perfect. You have to time each parry in the right frame in order to be successful, if you mistime one parry out of the 22 hits then you have to lose on purpose to try again. Props to the person at Arc System Works who had the balls to make this a trophy in the first place; the well deserved sole Gold trophy in the list. I don't think anyone who has the Platinum on this game would agree with me on this but I think beating 30 opponents in Survival mode is the hardest trophy in the game. The slight overrated nature of the aforementioned Gold trophy means this one always gets glossed over. The AI is ridiculous in the later fights and reads your inputs and not much information on this trophy exists on even on the guides apart from 'lol use Deathbringer dummy'. Also, I could have done without the boring monotonous grind that is the story mode and gallery completion but it is what is and i'm glad to be done with this game.

I'll make a compilation of tips on the Battle Fantasia page as I think it could do with a 2021 update for newcomers to the game. Story was ok, I did start skipping the cut-scenes when I started playing with the characters I had no interest in. It plays very similar to Blazblue Continuum Shift/Shift Extend story mode, what makes it annoying was all the repeat playthrough's. My difficulty rating is 8/10. I think it's a bit overrated for it's difficulty personally.
Honor_Hand
Man, you managed to finish BattleFantasia. Hats off to you. That's one impressive achievement.? I am relieved to hear that the Deathbringer trophy is not as hard as some people make it out to be. I mean, it's still very hard but it doesn't sound as impossible within my head now that you've gone through it. I haven't played the SP portion of the game fully yet, but it does feel kind of mediocre for an ArcSys fighter. The 2.5D visuals come off as weak even for an arcade of that time, and the gameplay, while solid, did feel a bit clunky from what little I played. Even so, the game is quite an oddity to watch in motion and I'm looking forward to completing it myself. At least I hope Coyori will carry me through. She's the only decent-looking character in the entire roster IMHO, lmao. ?

Popular Post Danny_Johansen
Made some progress on Trackmania Turbo. I dropped it 4 years ago for no real reason so I am happy to have finally picked it up again. I managed to finish all the levels up to 100 and the difficulty is definitely starting to pick up. The easy 5 minutes levels are slowly disappearing, there are still a few of them but most take an hour to fully learn. Not that I mind since the game is fantastic outside of a few beach levels. As a small break I decided to play Invisible Inc and this is a god damn disappointment. I normally like tactical game but this just feels unbalanced for me. Everything is basically broken that every strategy feels like a cheese. When you get the broken stuff everything is a walk in the park but when you don't get it, it makes everything just annoying. Since the layout of the stages and enemies are random it can create impossible to beat stages on higher difficulties. Or you need to skip all the safes and don't get any money but this will also get you screwed in the long run. My final mission on the harder difficulty had the worst lay out ever. New spawns at the final target so that place was never safe, 4 guards going instantly for the spawn, including the units that should never be attacked. Everything is completely open so that is was impossible to sneak past. And everything was connected so that a guard could just reach me from everywhere. In the end I had to use a few units as bait to avoid killing them but still be able to get past them. Tier 3 Max Payne 3 - 45% Invisible Inc - 43% Trackmania Turbo - 66% Raiden IV: OverKill - 0% Trials Fusion - 2%
Popular Post Hisuiryu
So posting update last week was a good motivator to push on with my list, I managed to finish up Unravel Two! Trophy hunting aside this game is a delight to play, and unlike the first game this one provided a challenge. I will say that the rarity of the trophies in general is definitely inflated (I guess by the popularity and relative ease of the first game), everything other than the gold medal times and "Hard and Fast" is pretty quick to get, and only 2 of the stages took any real amount of practice to clear without dying. Most of the times are fairly lenient as long as you don't die much, this particularly applies to the stages with more hazards as it seems they extended the target time to account for the occasional death. There is one exception though, the stage Hideaway took me a LOT of attempts. I was trying this for some time back in January and the best time I could muster was 13:13 against a target time of 13:00, and at the time that felt like a pretty optimum run which I then didn't come close to again. Returning to it this month took a short time to adjust to the controls and remember the level and begin really pushing for it - but still not beating that record for some time until yesterday, where a mediocre run (several small mistakes early and one later that wasted 5-6 seconds as I briefly forgot how to play) ended with a time of 13:03 which was that real breakthrough "I can do this" moment. The very next go I had a nigh-on perfect run and cleared it easily with a time of 12:43... Not sure what all the fuss was about! ? After that, the Hard and Fast trophy (beating all 20 challenge stages in 45 minutes) didn't take too much - I got it on my second full run through of the stages... And considering was only the 2nd time I had played some of them, it's really not that bad. There's only maybe 3 of them I would suggest running through multiple times to practise, then as long as you have puzzle-y ones memorised for quick clears you can afford a good number of deaths. There's no in game clock for this one, but my timer said 44:40 when I finished so I cut it fairly close but it can definitely be done a lot faster. Overall, great game and a tricky and satisfying plat! Aside from that, I also wrapped up the base game in Tropico so I will look to get the DLC at some point and finish that up to 100% Tier 2 Catherine (1.27%) - 100% Downwell (2.00%) - 91% Outland (3.81%) - 100% Tropico 5 (2.25%, 0.42%) - 47% → 72% Unravel Two (1.66%) - 88% → 100% Edited July 19, 2021 by Hisuiryu
Popular Post Dzware
Second tier 3 game done: Jotun! This is a beautiful game with pretty fun boss fights, with some of them being quite a challenge, especially on Valhalla mode (basically the hard mode of this game). The trophy list is full of defeating the bosses under certain conditions, like using no special powers or not taking any damage during a fight, which is the type of list I do like. Only thing I liked less was that the difficulty felt a bit unfair at times, especially cause there's no i-frames at all when getting hit, so it happened multiple times that I died from full health because I kept getting hit while still in the recovery animation, this was especially annoying in the final boss fight, where he can attack you with 4-5 attacks at once. Tier 3 Grand Theft Auto IV (0.47%) - 82% LittleBigPlanet 2 (3.21%) - 43% Fall Guys (2.13%) - 100% WipEout Omega Collection (1.28%) - 27% Jotun (2.78%) - 100% Now I should really try and get some progress in LBP2, but it's hard to motivate myself as I don't really like the game ?
