Hurray i finally finished Injustice 2 today. F*** that long grind to unlock the Just Kitten mission in the L. Multiverse for Catwoman. Took me almost an entire week.Thankfully most of the grind was completed by my turbo controller.

 

The game itself was alright, good looks and animations. I do wish for some more explaning who the characters are. Besides the famous one (i.e. Batman, Superman) i wondered who are i.e. Black Canary, Swamp Thing and Doctor Fate? I guess you either read some comics or play the original Injustice game for character backround...

Oh god that stupid grind...congrats NRS really had a thing for mindless grinding before MK11.

 

The characters that you mentioned are from comics/Justice League show. I am not a loremaster in DC universe but from what I know:

• Black Canary is a kickass singer/fighter, her superpower is her voice. She is the love of Green Arrow. Awesome character overall.
• Swamp Thing is a True Neutral entity, all it cares is about taking care of nature and slap the ones who would destroy it. Protector of the Earth and all that.
• Doctor Fate is a magician dude, the actual power is its helmet. He's the equivalent of Dr Strange from Marvel aka dimension manipulation, tons of spells etc. Also he's the father of Zatanna...I think. Or at least the wearer of the helmet.

Any pro DC-er, please correct me if I am wrong The only ones that I don't know about are Scarab (he appears in Young Justice) and Firestorm.

Still grinding on Brain Challenge, specifically, the 1845 or 2000 wins on Card Game. Currently, I'm at 1300 wins. Thankfully, the 1845 wins on both Snatch and Time Attack are done.

I completed 2 more games.

 

Hyper Scape is that BR that Ubisoft released last year and was pretty much immediately dead. Not a terrible game, just not particularly fun either, did most of it via boosting, which was pretty short.

 

I also finished Max Payne 3 this week. This one took much longer, requiring a lot of boosting, many hours grinding to level 50 (which I got in the last week before shutdown ?) and 6+ playtroughs to get everything done. In the end it wasn't as hard as I feared it would be. By the time I got to NYMHC (permadeath on medium difficulty, while there's a timer running basically), I was already so familiar with the game that I knew all the painkiller locations and pretty much memorized almost all enemy positions as well. Hardest thing about it is just that a run takes so long, so it's very easy to lose focus for a bit and make some dumb mistakes like not seeing a grenade indicator, or just shootdodging myself off a walkway (yes, that actually happened to me..lol) Still took me only 7 tries, which isn't too bad considering how I died on some of my attempts.

Woohoo i can't believe it but i have another completed game for this event

 

The Last Guardian is a great game. The partnership between a boy and a beast and how they work together is amazing. But Trico really makes it hard to speedrun this game. He sometimes refuses to do what's  needed. Took me two days for my 3rd actually it was my 4th (edit two days later) but final playthrough since i got the remove all spears from its body, speedrun and no dying trophies in one. Kept replaying several checkpoints 3-4 times and was worried about how much time had passed but the game doesn't show until you reach the end.

 

Oh and my 2nd playthrough (weeks ago) wasn't much fun either with getting all collectibles included waiting for some comments to be told for which you have to wait a lot, sitting around, doing nothing...

 

Great game, bad trophy list...

Super Meat Boy is crossed off the list and claims one of the 2 remaining bounties.  I've kinda been working on this one through out the year and finally managed to get it done.  (should out to @Joe Dubz for their continual support).  The fact that some of you guys are on the Tier 3 level and are playing all of these ridiculously difficult games is honestly inspiring.  I'm hoping to squeeze at least one more completion in before the end of the event.

Slender: The Arrival 


When I was in high school, me and a few friends used to take turns playing Slender: The Eight Pages on the school computers during lunches. We rarely ever found all 8 pages, but we lost our minds getting jump-scared, laughing at whoever got spooked, and getting told off by the teachers for being too loud.  I'm not sure whether it was the $2 price tag and the promise of 7 easy UR trophies or if it was nostalgia pushing me to revel in days gone by, but I figured I hadn't played anything spooky for Halloween and thought this could fill the void.

I don't want to spoil anything, but Arrival got me good a couple times. I almost never get scared enough to curse out loud. ?  If you're looking for some cheap scares, some easy UR trophies, or maybe just an opportunity to reminisce, this is the game for you.

Woah Dave! may be one of the simplest games I've played this year, but it also proved to be one of the toughest. You have three lives to collect as many pennies as you can. To earn pennies, just kick ass. It's as simple as that. The hardest trophy in the game is for collecting 1,000 pennies which typically requires you to stay alive for around 20 minutes amidst a hellish barrage of lasers, bats, and eggs that hatch in like 2 seconds.  

I used a video by Green Z-Saber as a guide and would absolutely recommend you check his tactics out if you have any interest in the game. If anyone wants to see me pause the game out of nervousness 3-4 times and jump for joy after collecting 1,000 pennies, I've linked my successful run below. ?

Well I’m not gonna lie, I barely made any progress over the last months on my tier 2 list, simply because I lost motivation for the games i submitted, instead I played other games I could have signed up. Any how since the end of the year is almost near I found some motivation to at least finish this tier up.

The main prerequisites for games will remain the same (the game must have at least one UR trophy).

However we'll change some of the other rules especially the Most Wanted list.

Got my first Most Wanted game done, and managed to make it my 150th platinum milestone as well: Splasher!

This game was honestly so much fun, definitely one of my favourite games I've played recently. I really like doing time attacks/speedruns and Splasher is definitely a game very much designed around that, which means that while some of the time requirements were very tight, it never felt too frustrating because of some well used mechanics (like obstacle cycles only starting when you reach a certain point, which means it's possible to catch up with the cycles of the next section of a level even if losing time with one obstacle before). 

The hardest parts of the plat are for sure the full game speedruns and the deathless run. They're almost an hour in length on average, so there's a lot to memorize. There's luckily a few minutes leeway for each run, which at least means you don't have to be completely faultless, though every mistake does raise the pressure (as a death can cost up to 40 seconds), so they will make a run progressively harder towards the end (and that on top of the levels themselves getting progressively harder ?).

All in all probably my proudest plat so far

After a 3 month hiatus I finally returned to Shift 2 and got it done within two days. Some of the tracks were a real pain in the ass to master. I left all four variations of Karussell (Nurburgring) until last.. went through the first three on my first attempt but then it took me over an hour to finally master the night version of Karussell. The worst thing about this was having to repeat the track over and over again (It's the last corner of the track so you have no choice but to cross the finish line to master it). Grinding out the $5 million or so was a real bore also, repeating the same race over and over again for the majority of the day. Glad to put this game to bed!

Demo version of Sonic Adventure DX was one of the first I've ever played and I had some fun with the 6 levels, and revisiting everything the game has to offer now, it's a fun game. Until speedruns. Camera can go out of bounds making you run blindly, long spin dash jumps can be inconsistent, enemies can attack offscreem, Sky Chase minigame is random as hell on whether it will give you 50 or 5000 points, Big fishing emblems were awfully boring and frustrating, DLC missions were mostly fine excluding both Ice Cap slides (frame-perfect Sonic jumps and pixel-perfect Tails flag collecting, 2 minute slide between each attempt). I might give SA2 a go someday, I just hope that it's less clunky.

 

And I'm almost sure that I won't finish any more games for this, my PS4 controller is busted and I have no good idea for a 5th game I could fit in, so... I guess that's it for this year. I'd like to surprise myself with something, but I don't expect it.
