Track your spend on gaming 2021 edition **sign up for analysis tracking**

Many people took part in the 2020 edition following the success in 2019 and tracked their expenditure on game hardware and software through the year.

It often serves as reminder of what you have bought and how much it cost but also makes you think whether you need that brand new game at full price or whether you can hold off due to what you have already bought.

I plan on running the same but will also produce a monthly and finally Annual spreadsheet of some stats surrounding games bought, expenditure, etc so if you’d like to be part of next years edition and want to see your name on the stats spreadsheet then signup below.

others are more than welcome to join in and post what you’ve purchased without signing up, you just won’t appear on the monthly analysis.

Sign up before 1st Jan which is when we will go live.

My 2020 video spending was a lot more ridiculous than I thought it would be when I start actually tracking my spending. Granted I did end up snagging a PS5 on launch so that alone added like $700ish (with the games and accessories) extra to my spending. Even though I had no intention of buying a PS5 at launch, I did get real lucky in that regard. I also FINALLY bought a Vita this year which added another $130, on top of all the games I ended up buying for it (which so far is like 13 physical games and a handful of digital). I'm for sure signing up for next years though, especially with the knowledge I have from my spending habits this year I'm gonna be way more picky on what I buy in 2021.

I like tracking stuff, but I'm really bad at keeping up with it over long periods of time...

January

$55 (Tesla vs Lovecraft GOTY, Tesla Force PS4+PS5, BDSM)

February

$102.38 (other region PSN cards)

September

$15 (Clid the Snail)

October

$30 (Outriders PS4/PS5)

2021 total:

$200 (one of my cheapest years to date)

I'll join in, this year shouldnt be bad, but I'll be getting a ps5 when I can. I already have a 50 game list to play for this year of over 2000 estimated hours, that should persuade me to hold back on spending but we'll see....

$0 so far but with my "games to buy" list on my phone, includes whats out and TBA 2021, easily 2000$. If Sony gets off their ass and announces compatible SSDs that'll probably be another 300$ for a 1TB, sooo yeah.

Currently putting money toward LG CX or whatever comes out 2021 thats better tho. May not count as "game spending" but i will use it FOR gaming so i count it

So many PS Plus collection games, and PS+ games not played, I doubt I’ll need to buy many larger this year.

Although I still have £150 of CEX credit so...I’ll have to use that on something when the shops are open again. Should I count that?

Just looked up my spending so far.

January:

Bad North for Switch from LRG - $37.98

Pink Gorilla Bootleg Buddy - $24.46 (This is a kit for opening carts in order to determine if they are fake video games, if this should not be included I will drop it off the list.)

My fun budget runs $200 per month. Which is usually spent on games, books, comics and edc stuff. I plan on putting some money to the side to grab a PS5 this year, maybe this will help me manage saving up.

My last year’s spending on gaming GOT SO OUT OF HAND! And I only got a handful of platinums from the entire list I bought.

Well, this is what I bought so far in 2021:

January 2021

Awkward €3.24

This War of Mine: The Little Ones €4.99

I’ll try to not spend so much anymore, either way I’m in a fashion and interior phase now. ?
