Why no GTA 4: Complete Edition PS5/Series X??

Why hasn't this happened yet? GTA 4 has a huge following and a lot of people would love a remaster.

 

Now i know they can't milk the online like GTA 5 which is getting a remake but it would sell a lot of copies.

They did do a reprint for XOne/360, but that's because the game was backwards compatible.

 

Honestly I'd love to see a remaster.

I would be happy to see GTA4 return, and the only train of thought I can think of to explain it is that it would take people away from GTA5. Even if it was a single-player only experience, they share the same player base.

 

I also think its the same reason why RDR Online was not supported very well. It was intentional to get people back to GTA5 asap.

 

But that's just a thought, I know I would buy an improved GTA4 day 1.

Unfortunately, the chances for this to happen are almost nonexistent. Why? Because there are enough idiots who pay for shark cards in GTA Online which brings millions every day with little to no effort for Rockstar. They made just from shark cards more than big companies earn through their entire franchises. As long as they can milk this the shit out of, nothing will change. You probably already saw the GTA V for PS5 announcement, yeah, that's what you'll get instead of a single-player game that would take effort and time to make properly. Making a fully-fledged remake of GTA IV would be unprofitable from an economic pov. Why bother if they will make even more money on PS5's GTA V? Back in the day, around the release of GTA V, Rockstar was one of the very few game developers that I had trust in, I would trust them with making a sequel to my favorite franchise because their name meant something - quality. Now though, Rockstar to me and for many others is nothing more than a greedy bitch, even worse than EA. At least EA has never been shy of it and pretended to be something they weren't.

The multiplayer stuff in IV is pretty easy. You may have to redo the races and stuff a few times but the really grindy trophy for the money can easily be setup to idle boost itself in a few hours.

 

I wish most of the remakes/rereleases would stop.

Im in the same boat. The Main Game was fantastic but adding on difficult multplayer trophies runined it for me IMO

Nothing about it is difficult. It will take about 20 hours to do, but it's one of the easiest grinds you can ask for.

Easy or not, any time it would take would be better spent on something I actually enjoy. I have less and less time for games as I get older so I'm trying to cut out as much grind as possible.

What's hard about doing races with a partner or your second console, and leaving a console AFK for the xp grind? I've done numerous boosts that were annoying and hard to pull off, GTA isn't one of them.

One reason why: GTA Online. It makes Take-Two Interactive a good amount if money because they think 6 billion dollars from GTA V sales is not enough and Rockstar is forced to focus entirely on Online

My internet sucks and I don't know anyone with the patience to help lol I might just get a digital version for ps3 and use my bricked console to play against like I did far cry 2

my dream, but rockstar didn't even post a note of honor on the game's 10th anniversary. i have no hopes of a remastered, when i am nostalgic occasionally i play on ps3.

Thanks for the positive replies everyone, i knew there was a lot of love for this game and people would love a remaster for it.

 

But yes sadly i know, the chances for a remaster are almost non-existent which is a real shame, GTA 4 is my favourite in the series and i'm sure sure it is for many other people.
