Abby_TheLastofUs
Netflix is making a Tomb Raider anime Quote A Tomb Raider anime is on its way to Netflix, the streaming giant announced on Wednesday. According to Netflix’s press release, the anime will be a sequel to the most recent reboot video game trilogy of the Tomb Raider franchise. As you might expect, the series will follow the game’s iconic main character, Lara Croft, as she travels the world searching out new, more exciting, and more dangerous adventures. The Tomb Raider animated series will be written and executive produced by Tasha Huo, who is also working The Witcher: Blood Orange, a live-action spinoff of the popular fantasy series. Lara Croft’s last trip outside of video games came in 2018 when Alicia Vikander brought the character to the big screen in a reboot directed by Roar Uthaug. Netflix also announced that it’s creating an anime spinoff of Kong: Skull Island that will simply be called Skull Island. This news comes hot on the heels of the wildly popular new trailer for Godzilla vs. Kong. The series will follow a few characters who end up shipwrecked on Kong’s island as they try to survive the other prehistoric horrors that live there. The series will be written and executive produced by Underwater writer Brian Duffield. Netflix hasn’t yet announced an official release date for either of these shows. DrBloodmoney
I guess anime’s are seeming very appealing just now, given how many of their real shows have been cancelled due to inability to film with actors due to Covid.
da-Noob123
Lot of video game based shows coming to Netflix... not sure if I am happy about that or not. Perhaps the overwhelming bad offering of video game based movies has made me sour. Then again, maybe the longer format of a TV show season will be better adapted to telling video game stories. ?
