My mom and grandma came to visit me this week, and I also started working nights (which is why my update is late, I’ve lost track of what day it is already!). I thought that meant I wouldn’t get much done, but I surprisingly still got a decent amount of progress done. Still not a big fan of Before the Storm, now that I’m done with it. I didn’t find myself rolling my eyes at it as hard or as often as I did for the first game, but I still don’t like Chloe much and I’m still not a fan of teenage drama BS. This one had more of a generic crime thriller vibe than teenage drama vibe, so I don’t hate it as much as I hated most of the first game, but it’s still not my favorite. But whatever, at least it’s finally out of my life and I can stop worrying about it. I also made a bit more progress in the CSI game. Still inaccurate, but kind of a fun game still regardless. And it’s fun refreshing my memory by explaining to my roommate what some of the proper procedures are when she comes to watch me play it, since my PS3 is in the living room.
Popular Post StilRh
Alright guys. Very late update from me as work has been very full on. I've not finished the game I wanted to (setting up PSVR and charging periphals for the last chapter is a bit of a chore) but I've made some reasonable progress in Light Tracer. I've also sunk 30 hours into Harvest Moon, gotten past where I was last time and have been rewarded with a few trophies for my time I'm still shattered by work (I slept 14 hours straight after finishing my shift yesterday) so this week I'm going to set my target very low with 25% across my games. Popular Post Heather342
Update #8 I've decided to use one of my swaps, so Crash Bandicoot is being changed for Dragon Age 2 (current completion at 37%). I'm hoping that this week I'll be able to finish Spirit of the North, and then I'll jump back into Dragon Age 2. I'm still chipping away at Hitman 3, but I want that one to be my Platinum #47 ? Cuphead continues to kick my ass. I'm stuck on the casino boss rush. I've made it to King Dice a few times, but not able to beat him yet. Running out of time on the challenge now, and it's stressing me out ?
Popular Post MidnightDragon
Finally started Cooking Mama: Cookstar last night. Did one vegetarian recipe and six traditional. Also got the customization trophies except the sticker one (saving it for the plat shot). The controls are a tad wonky at times, but enjoying it so far.
Popular Post MidnightDragon
Have finished 16 of the traditional recipes in Cooking Mama: Cookstar. From the trophy descriptions, you only need to do all 50 of either the traditional or vegetarian, but not both. I did do one vegetarian recipe for a trophy, though. Been trying to three star everything, though I only need to for Cookstar mode. Think it'll help. Looks like most of the trophies will be earned in the process of doing all 50 recipes. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
14th Update - Managed to get Platinum # 174 with Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls. Forewarning to anyone who wants to read further into my wall of text - I'm mainly negative with my criticism of this game so I quarantined it in a spoiler tag just in case you don't want to know about it. Hit the spoiler link if you want to read about one of the worst games i've ever played. I very rarely have only bad things to say about a game experience and I try to look at any possible positives there are, but I just couldn't find any here. Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls Spoiler The full title should have been enough of a hint for me really, but after finishing it to completion I can honestly say that, like the guy that drank from the wrong cup in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, I chose.....poorly. I went into it expecting the same interesting, sleuthing visual novel structure that I loved about Danganronpa 1 & 2 but I got a clunky 3rd person puzzle shooter (at least I think that's the right genre description there) which had some genuinely uncomfortable moments of writing and story beats in it. It's largely on me in that I didn't do any research into the game before hand and just went in expecting more of the same dark comedy mystery that the first two games did so well. I'm kind of annoyed at myself for not doing that upfront research. I normally do it pretty astutely nowadays and honestly, if the game wasn't so short, I probably would have just dropped it and buried it in my other games. Apart from the main two characters, the voice acting was genuinely bad, voice actors would often break their character if they had a long sentence into completely different voices. And in general everyone spoke in either drawling drone-like tones or screeching, high pitched wails which really grated. It was really difficult to listen to and I found myself quickly reading the text and skipping so I could minimise the amount of voice work I had to listen to. I wouldn't call myself a prolific visual novel gamer. I have minimal exposure to them, but if you were considering Danganronpa Another Episode as a game to try - know that it isn't a visual novel like the first two numbered entries and it handles some truly risky themes and serious social issues in a very clumsy and awkward way. It takes alot to make me uncomfortable, but this game did just that more than once and not in a way to provoke you into thinking intellectually about a wider issue or theme either. I'm firmly closing the door on this game now and i'm just going to let it sink slowly into obscurity within my game list over the next few months. In other news I messed up slightly with maintaining my list, in that I started a game last night called 'The Suicide of Rachel Foster' with the intention of making a little progress and then adding it this morning, but I had no idea it was so unbelievably short and in the space of a few hours, am now at 81% completion. I had a hankering for a late night narrative-heavy walking sim and a friend on Discord recommended this to me, but with the caveat that I should play it with a good pair of headphones and go into it completely unaware with no knowledge of trailers or reviews. I'm so glad I did because - playing this game in the dark at 10pm with a pair of headphones on and no idea of what it was about or what to expect was perfect advice. I'll write more thoughts about it as soon as i'm done. Popular Post StilRh
Weekend update: Hi guys. I have sunk a lot of time into Stardew valley and Surviving Mars this week. Briefly dabbled in Soul Sacrifice and FF7R. Stardew is starting to open up for me and I feel on course for most of the trophies, I think the minigame and artifact hunting will be the tedious ones. Surviving Mars my terraforming megacolony playthrough is 80% to the end, after this it will be simple if timely restarts to farm the faction specific trophies and mysteries. This week I have 5 days off before I next go in to work so I hope to get at least 1 platinum (it's been over 2 months lol). I really should get my PSVR out of the attic so I can finish Light Tracer or drill into FF7R/Ryza. This week I'll also be playing off list games for fun including Nier. Popular Post Draps-1337
Been slowly making some progress, I finished most of Monster Hunter Rise's content so I can get back to the Playstation this month. Almost finished with Mind:Zero on vita so I can move onto the two vita games in this challenge. I'm also very close to the plat for Monkey King, however, I don't think I'll be paying the $30 for the dlc as the game isn't that good and I only paid $5 for it in the first place. Moonlighter was mostly chill until having to perfect the bosses (no hit) which was pretty shit because the hitboxes are a bit jank. Popular Post YaManSmevz
Finally feelin' like I'm back on track? Had a solid week (at long last!) and wrapped up Uncharted. After the first playthrough I was all about the series and planning to hit UC2 soon, but after the brutal playthrough, the speedrun, the cleanup... eh I'm good, haha. It's all love but there's plenty of time to get into that later on down the road. Finished Ground Zeroes as well, which was also a lot of fun. Hard to think that at one point it felt out of reach. Definitely got me excited to dive into Phantom Pain! The last hard hitter for me is Fallout 4. The plan is to try and wrap up Overcooked 2 and FF7 by the month's end (which feels feasible) and then I can devote May to FO4. Was thinkin about adding another game but then reminded myself not to get cocky! I have one productive week and suddenly I'm like a cartoon character lookin for a fight like "stick em up, stick em up!!" Anyway, here's to another good week, y'all! 1. Resident Evil 2 ✅ 2. Overcooked 2 (12-->25%) 3. Final Fantasy 7 (5%) 4. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered (90-->100%) ✅ 5. Manhunt ✅ 6. Fallout 4 (2%) 7. Popular Post Heather342
Update #9 So this weekend has been a bit crazy with Cuphead. I booted up the game yesterday and thought 'I'll try and practice these casino mini bosses', with no real goal to finish it, just learn the patterns. First go I managed to get to King Dice and died when he had 1 hit left....so frustrating. Tried a few more times and reached King Dice again, I don't know what happened but he glitched out and no cards came out on his attack! Managed to finish him off and get an A rank ?. From then I've been on a massive trophy streak and my completion% has jumped from 30% to 68% !!! I'm feeling a lot more confident about this plat now ?

Popular Post Hisuiryu
Week 7 Update So I realised this week that we're at roughly the halfway mark for this challenge and I definitely haven't done half the games on my list! Though it's a lot better if I break it down by time (DA being the biggest time sink), I still need to get a move on to succeed here. So, with that in mind, I completed Persona 5 DiS last week, a pretty short but fun game much like the P3 version, because of the modifiers you can use and not needing to play the hardest difficulty it's very easy by rhythm game standards. I played mostly on hard with cleaup on the other difficulties and finished it in around 9 hours. I considered getting some BlazBlue done, but I started a new file on Outland instead - I think I'll be able to get through it this week and start on something else too, but I'm not sure what for now. Chipping away at Catherine is still my biggest hurdle, it remains to be seen whether I'll be able to succeed in time! Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
15th Update - Made way more progress this weekend than I anticipated, completing both The Suicide of Rachel Foster and Visage. 8 hours ago, freddie1989 said: Sounds like something worth checking out pal. Is it similar to anything else so I can get a feel for whether its worth giving a go? Cheers Some thoughts on The Suicide of Rachel Foster: Spoiler It's probably be similar to something like Gone Home or Firewatch @freddie1989 - where you are pretty much walking around, solving straightforward puzzles and exploring, nothing brain taxing really - it's pretty much - go there, get that, come back. You don't get stalked by anything and you aren't really on a timer. It's not a frantic run-and-scream kind of experience. It's a slow burning one which builds up to the reveal at the end. You can pretty much go where you want in the remote hotel you find yourself in after the beginning. I don't want to spoil the narrative too much because it's the real star of the game (along with the sound design), but it's basically your character trapped in a run down mountain hotel recollecting her childhood there. The atmosphere was right up my street too, it really felt like they based the place on the Overlook from The Shining (one of my all-time favourite movie locations). There were two moments that genuinely gave me the chills as well which again, I won't spoil. But I have never wanted to leave a room as fast as I did at one point in the game. I definitely recommend headphones for this one, and I think the overall experience might even be very diminished if you aren't able to. If you don't have a good headset, I would try and get a nice quiet room with as little sound distraction as possible. The sound is set to be directional on purpose so with a good headset every creak or mysterious sound as you explore the hotel will come from different directions. It is an incredibly short game too (I had no idea when I started playing it so it was a shock). With a guide it will take you about 1 hour I reckon. I really recommend playing it blind, without any guides at all, even then it won't take long, 2-4 hours at most. There are missables, but a second mop-up playthrough with a guide will take next to no time. My main criticism with it is that it doesn't have any manual save options at all, which is a huge design flaw in my opinion. Couple this with the fact that it can sometimes glitch out and crash infrequently didn't help. It seems to auto-save between chapters (or days as they are referenced in the game). My advice would be to back up your saves between chapters/days. Thoughts on Visage Spoiler This was also a pretty short one, but I did dip in and out of a guide here and there as some of the puzzle solutions were pretty obscure. Similarly to Rachel Foster, this one also had you trapped in a building trying to figure things out. Only in Visage, there was way more peril, jump scares and ghost/monsters zipping around the narrative. I found it hard to follow in places, but the weird reality bending rooms, secret pathways and strangeness kept me going. I still don't think I fully understand parts of the story, I found it to be really obscure and abstract in places, so i'm going to look up some explainers on it. I'm normally pretty good with following stories which are a bit convoluted or non-linear, but I had some trouble with this one. Gameplay-wise, Visage plays around with a bunch of different things you've seen in other games - things like sanity meters, sneaking and hiding from stalkers, the kind of strategic inventory management similar to what you'd see in a Resident Evil game. I could see a bunch of DNA from different games in this like RE, Outlast, Amnesia etc. In hindsight, you could probably play this game from the start with a guide/walkthrough and you'd still get what you needed out of it as far as the full experience goes. My evenings this week will be spent focusing on Yakuza 6. Then on Friday i'll be jumping into one of my most anticipated games of 2021 - the Nier:Replicant remaster. My hype is real! Nioh Persona 5 Strikers Thimbleweed Park Yakuza 6: The Song of Life - 51% > 54% 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim Beyond Blue Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls Nier: Replicant - 0% Spirit Hunter: NG - 0% Visage The Suicide of Rachel Foster Edited April 19, 2021 by Crispy_Oglop
