I've been back working at the pub since the 12th when lockdown eased here in the UK. I'm not doing too well with picking up a controller after a shift. Going from all the time off to just Tuesdays and Fridays off is strange. Just got to get my stamina stat up after getting used to sitting down most of the time. My back is hating it mostly. The fact I'm moderately prancing around back and forth for 7-8 hours and getting shattered furthers my respect for our health care staff. King's Quest was great for it's story, voice acting and puzzles. I'd missed this when I was younger so I loved that it gave the player a view of the past, using old graphics from previous iterations on the last episode. I'd imagine for familiar players that would have been gold. Some parts were guide worthy but I didn't mind, I found it baffling in parts but not too frustrating. A nice solid fun light-hearted journey. Sweet as. Zero Time Dilemma was great. Absolutely loved it. I found it more shocking than Virtue's Last Reward but that might have been because it was on my TV rather than Vita. I liked the fact you could play the story in your own unique order and the ease at which you could switch storyline/characters. Have to say, I was disappointed when I got the trophy for completing all the escape rooms when I was only about 60% complete. They were really satisfying to work through so a few extra would have been good further down the story strands. I've reached the main DLCs in AC: Odyssey after finishing off the sub-story DLC. They were all really good in their own right and either added to existing narratives, closed off story arcs or encouraged you to explore places you might not have previously. Shout-out to the voice acting and humour as well. I'm not massively keen to start Legacy of the First Blade, the Atlantis one seems more appealing so I'll do that 1st. I dropped a bottle top into the ice dump and dove my hand in to get it like a dick. Turns out ice is sharp so I've cut my knuckles which aren't healing with my extra dry hands from lots of hand washing. This means I'm currently playing PGA Tour 2K21 one handed like a G. I gave it a knock in my earlier review but the settings are quite extensive so you can play it how you want it really which it deserves credit for. I would like a sense of progression from things like improving stats in the early Tiger Woods games however. Bit of a shame. Just remembered you used to be offered sponsor contracts to. Not like now where you start out and it's "here's all your sponsors. Which one do you want to pick noob?" Big thanks to @Crispy_Oglop for his thoughts (advice) re. Ultra Despair Girls. I'd bought it on price and expected similar to the 1st 2. The price should have indicated it wasn't. I did watch some game play but I had to really hunt for what must have been game play but might not have been. Either way, the conclusion is no, not right now. Thanks for taking one for the team there man! In comes A Plague Tale. It's the cheapest I've seen it in a sale and I've heard good stuff from a few people on here. I even played the demo for a bit to, just to "check", ha. Aside from the challenge, I'm revisiting one of my favourite franchises in Resident Evil. I've ticked off more of Resident evil 2 remake, Resident Evil and Resident Evil 7 in that order (I know right) and I bought Resident Evil 3 remake yesterday. Might even be able to plat that one, wooooh! Village soooooon! I read all your updates every morning with a coffee and a smoke. Some of you are bossing games I outright couldn't. Thoroughly enjoy reading about them in any case. @SpacebarPlays great news that you're better than you were. Sounds nasty and must have took some strength to get through. Keep safe and as happy as possible all ?? Edited April 27, 2021 by Stanners316
Popular Post Heather342
Update #11 So I finally got around to finishing Spirit of the North and platinumed it this morning (trophy progress 58 -> 100%). It was a nice puzzle game with relaxing music, a few collectables and just an all round nice game. My only criticism would be the jumping controls are a bit fiddly, and when you're trying to navigate precise platforming sections it can be a little irritating. But this was a nice change of pace from Cuphead. As for Cuphead progress, I've managed to get another trophy for A ranking all bosses on Isle 3. Playing in normal mode I managed to pull off a perfect run on Dr Kahl's Robot (no idea how), and felt pretty confident going into expert mode. But no, the final section bullet hell with the chaos emerald is beating me once again and I always die at the same place every time. But I have managed an additional 3 bosses on expert mode since my last update (Sally Stageplay, Cala Maria and Rumor Honeybottom). Trophy progress 71 -> 80%
Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
17th update - Not a huge amount of progress this week, I've been taking my time with the gardening and fishing stuff in Nier:Replicant, there is a timezone manipulation thing you can do with your PS4 to trick the game into thinking real time has past and speed-grow your crops. But i'm really digging just planting stuff, waiting for it to grow, selling what I don't need and fishing in the meantime. Once I have bred the legendary flower for the trophy, i'll pick up the pace with the rest of the game. In other news, I made some decent progress with Spirit Hunter NG which so far seems like a spin-off to Death Mark. I haven't seen any connection so far other than they both exist in the same world. As far as visual novels go, these games have been really spooky with some really great artwork. The monsters/ghosts in Spirit Hunter haven't been as creepy as the ones from the previous game, but they are still pretty unnerving. I'll be bouncing back and forth between Nier and Spirit Hunter tonight and tomorrow night so I may have the platinum in the latter before the week is fully over. Popular Post MidnightDragon
I played a game called North on Tuesday. Was a bit strange and surreal. Also got a random trophy to knock my unearned total to 740 since it was driving me nuts. I also played and platted The Sexy Brutale. Quite a fun game. It’s my 69th ...yes, I planned that. Hard to resist. Also, signups for summer will open on Saturday. Edited April 30, 2021 by MidnightDragon
Popular Post DFuzed
So now at the end of April I've been given the quest from a NPC to do the following: update my gaming experience overall for this challenge. And since I accepted it with a reward at the end I said I would do it. So here I go. Persona 5: Throughly loving this game, wish I had played it earlier but in a way I'm glad I didn't. Currently on my second playthrough at the Cruiser Palace and going through there. Done all trophies except having maxed all Confidants (Emporer and Hanged Man were not completed on my first run) and get all of the Personas done. The later will be done last; I'm making this plat my 275th plat milestone. The twins fight was the hardest thing so far - waiting until Flu season to grind the Reaper, doing it at a time so Crow was a party member (he has a nasty monster debuff that's useful), getting a couple of the best weapons then trying to take them on. Thought I had them at one point but one survived and resurrected the other. But managed to focus fire the one until they were low on health then did group skills and magic. Nier Automata: I remember playing the original some and saved myself some grinding later for some things (the 50 and 100 hit combo as examples). But I couldn't really get deep into it; the control scheme was different than Persona's and it was throwing me off. Ultimately didn't get far into the game; I wanted to finish Persona 5 first and I would have to restart it on easy mode anyways to get the one trophy for getting the game done in 15 hours. Doesn't help that I'm 5 hours into it due to killing sheep on Medium difficulty. Lego The Hobbit (Vita): Still plodding on this game. I've finished the story mode and in the process of cleaning up. I'm roughly 76% done the content including unlocking the characters, finishing all challenges per level and world quests. Out of 375 gold brick I have 290ish found so I'm slowly getting there. But I've been only unlocking characters needed for specific trophies or specific challenges. Once I hit 100 million studs for that trophy I'll start unlocking everything. Epic Word Search (PS4): Finally done this game. It was nice to have a game that has so many trophies that could be done in ones or twos when I needed to get a couple trophies and things didn't work out that day. I'll likely get the sequel sometime soon for the same reason. Fill-a-Pix: Phil's Epic Adventure (PS4 & Vita): How much I've cleared both is different but the experience has been the same - finish these games as backup trophy games then never go back. The majority of the gameplay is either putting a filled black square or an 'X' on the space depending upon what number is nearby. I've done the most of the Gold trophies on PS4 and now just mainly have to fill and fix the rest of the pictures. And that's the update on this month. One more month to go and lots to do. I might switch one game with a cheap quick game in its place and then add it to the next Challenge list. Now where is that NPC...
Popular Post Darling Baphomet
So April was kinda a crapshoot for me; I started the month with a burst of energy towards random games unrelated to this event, then had some mental health stuff that made me barely be able to dedicate more than an hour or two to gaming (besides Remnant with my co-op partner) a day. I don't think I'll be making significant progress next month, especially with the release of the Mass Effect collection on the 14th; so I guess I'll officially withdraw until the next event. Going to limit myself to ~13 games for the next, which I think is reasonable, especially if the season holds up better than this one did.

Popular Post Heather342
Update #12 I'm inching my way ever closer to that Cuphead platinum ? Another trophy has been achieved, and Isle 2 A ranks are in the bag. 3 more bosses on expert mode are done, Grim Matchstick, Cagney Carnation and Baroness Von Bon Bon. I've worked out that's about half of expert mode completed, I hope I can finish this before the end of the month. Trophy progress 80 -> 88% Hitman 3 progress also improving. I have finished all of the trophies in the second DLC pack, and have started on the third set of DLC. Once that is done I will jump back into the main Hitman 3 content, and the trophy updates should pick up from there. I'm still on track to have this as my 47th platinum ? Popular Post YaManSmevz
Man, I should've numbered my updates like some of you are doing, I've totally lost track? Fell behind with my weekly goal, sadly. FF7 was a breeze (particularly when halfway through I realized there was a God mode) but surprisingly Overcooked 2 has gotten to me a bit. I was really enjoying it until the last level of Surf n Turf, then kinda enjoying it until the last level of Campfire Cook Out, then barely enjoying it through the horde levels. I'd rather step back for a bit and regain my liking of it than grind for sake of a quicker finish... so I've taken the plunge into Fallout 4. That's right, I took a break from Overcooked 2 so that I could relax with Fallout 4. The world of PS4 is a twisted place, I tell ya. Sad to see some peeps having to take a step back but it's equally exciting watching so many of you inching closer to the end. Looking forward to a strong finish this month? 1. Resident Evil 2 ✅ 2. Overcooked 2 (56-->81%) 3. Final Fantasy 7 (52-->100%) ✅ 4. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune Remastered ✅ 5. Manhunt ✅ 6. Fallout 4 (2-->5%) 7. For the final month my plan is to focus on one main game per week, but also keep working on Batman AK a little everyday. Then, if all goes well, I'll have the final week to finish the hard DLC in Batman. Right now I'm planning on DW7 -> Dead Space 2 -> Ys IX -> Batman AK. I'm sure RE8 will throw my plan off a little though. Week 10 plans: -DW7 plat -Finish the other car DLC in Batman AK, clear another island of Riddler trophies. Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
18th Update - My weekend ended up getting busier than expected, I went for a socially distant walk with a friend to get a coffee and we ended up walking to the beach nearby which then turned into a spontaneous 9 mile walk. I had no idea 9 mile walks could be considered spontaneous ?. I also did a massive spring clean which was a nice mental booster too. Gaming-wise I ended up getting the platinum for Spirit Hunter: NG which turned out to be quite a fun visual novel with really great artwork. After going through it and seeing all of the endings I definitely still prefer the previous game and it's story. I've also continued to dip into Nier:Replicant daily to maintain my flowerbeds, I'm going to be so glad once this legendary flower is fully bred! I'm not going to be doing much with Nier outside of the gardening stuff for a while, so I decided to add another game to make the most of the rest of the month - Tearaway: Unfolded. I'm 4% complete with this one and it's one I picked up and dropped for some unknown reason back in 2016. I remember really enjoying it, but I guess I got distracted by other things at the time. Some of the threads on the trophy page mention it's a bit annoying from a trophy point of view due to the checkpoint/save system etc but hopefully it won't give me too much trouble. Anyway, I'll check in towards the end of the week and say hi. Popular Post Hisuiryu
Week 9 Update So Type-0 has been abandoned again - I'm finding it very hard to get into, just as I did first time around, not sure if I'll play it more this week or try something else.... However, I did manage to get through HtoL#NiQ (Hotaru no Nikki)! It was a lot of fun, and working out the plot from the environment, short scenes and collectables was interesting - no matter how you slice it there's some pretty messed up things in there though (one puzzle involves feeding corpses to carnivorous plants so you can pass by). The puzzles themselves where pretty tricky in places, the controls were strange and the main character moved annoyingly slow, but overall I enjoyed my time with the game. With 4 weeks left and 4 medium length games to go I'm not sure if I'll get them all done, I might use my swaps to move a couple out for shorter games in the next week or so. I recently bought Seasons After Fall so that will probably be one of them, maybe an older PS+ game for the other? Popular Post WishingLemon
Wow, time sure does fly. I'm mostly recovered from the medical crap that was keeping me down earlier in the event so I should be back to the games again now. I started Ghost of Tsushima and wow, I can see why it was so acclaimed despite media trying to divert attention to TLoU2. It's a very good game, and I quite like that combat is quick and fluid. I like that I can only take a few hits before dying, but the enemy also only takes 2-3 hits before dying. I've finished Act I and am slowly going through and picking up all the collectibles I missed in the first part of the map before moving onward. In other news, in an attempt to move away from Sony I began selling off all my PS4 games and rebuying the games I still want to play on Steam or GoG. Unfortunately I can't find a Steam alternative to this site so I guess you're all stuck with me. I managed to finish off the Spyro Reignited Trilogy again, unrelated to this event. I have to say the trophy system is superior in the ping noise over Steam's silent achievements. Popular Post Dzware
Second game complete: Futuridium! I had about half the medals left after my previous update, and as I'd expected, most didn't give me any trouble at all as I was already familiar with the game. Only took me 2 short evenings to finish this off. Meanwhile I've also been continuing Sly 4, but I have to say, even though progress has been steady, I've become a bit bored of the game (I'm at episode 4 now). Game is pretty fun, but I think would've been a lot better if it was the length of Jak and Daxter for example. Nevertheless, I'm hoping to get the plat by the end of the week, so I can start Limbo, for which I'm using a swap to replace Transistor. I'm also participating in the mental health event, so figured I'd best replace one of my unstarted games with another that I can use for other events as well. Popular Post Heather342
Update 13 Guys my Cuphead journey is almost done, the end is in sight. I managed to get the Rolling Sixes trophy last weekend (progress 88 -> 91%). All I have left is to finish the game on expert mode. I'm down to the last 2 bosses - King Dice and Wally Warbles. This game has been my Everest. I will be so happy when I finally get that platinum ?. When I first booted the game up last summer and I discovered how hard it was, platinuming this seemed like an impossible task. But now, cheesy as it sounds, I feel like I can achieve anything (even that insanely difficult Persona 4 Arena plat currently taunting me on my profile ?) Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming final installment of my Cuphead saga ??? Edited May 6, 2021 by Heather342
