Popular Post WishingLemon
Finished the first game on my list. Yeah I know it's an easy one but I've been installing/deleting/reinstalling it for ages thinking it's going to take me hours to do. It didn't, thankfully as it's one of the most boring experiences I've had in gaming. As @MMDE said in his 2017 thread, this really marks the beginning of the asset flip type of games. Cheap, lazy, and barely coherent. The developer commentary showed that they really had no idea what they were going for and just kind of cobbled some ideas together, trying to convince each other that it's deep and meaningful. Crawling out of a wet cave being a symbol of birth is not new, clever or profound. The music is also repetitive and grating. "It's supposed to be like that" the developer says. "Fuck off" I say, they should've left the music out and just kept the ambient noises. Let's hope Ethan Carter is better. Overcooked - 0% Ghost of Tsushima - 0% Murdered: Soul Suspect - 0% Cat Quest II - 0% Darkwood - 2% Aven Colony - 0% Monkey King Is Back - 0% Nexomon: Extinction - 42% Seasons After Fall - 0% Road to Guang Dong - 0% Dear Esther - 100% The Vanishing of Ethan Carter - 0% Those Who Remain - 0% Also Nexomon went from 20something to 42%. I felt that way about Dear Esther, my univsity gaming society all bought it when it first launched on Steam as we were supporting over university gaming groups etc. While I appreciated the poetic prose of the game I did not like my time with the game. Having done some research into the games development though it sounds like it was a source mod as part of a research project which became funded by university and then launched on gaming platforms. Chinese room have released better games since so I guess it was a much needed learning experience for the team. What hurt me more than any of the narrative themes or intentional design choices was paying £15 for a drab 30 minute walking simulator Ethan Carter is much better in terms of player interactivity and story but it can be a bit bland and is still very much a walking sim.

Popular Post Darling Baphomet
Gonna spoiler my list in updates since it's long, anyway - So I ended up quitting the other event I was in due to having missed some of the rules due to them having been hidden away under a spoiler marked "TL;DR", so I can safely continue my in-progress games as opposed to simply doing new games for the first month, which definitely makes things easier. Regardless, currently primarily working on Need For Speed: Heat, which I need to finish before my EA Play subscription expires this month, as I don't want to pay 5$ for it (my budget is very tight); playing through the Outer Wilds which I still don't fully understand but I'd estimate I'm probably 20-33% of the way into; also started Big Pharma, which has a godawful tutorial which can't even remember the name of its own UI elements, but nonetheless seems fun so far. Popular Post Heather342
Update 1 - I've been playing Hitman 3 this week, got a few trophies on that so my completion% is now up to 19% ? I also played a bit of Cuphead yesterday, didn't get a trophy but finally managed to beat Baroness Von Bon Bon ? so one step closer to completing that one. I find Cuphead so difficult ?
Popular Post Crispy_Oglop
1st Update - Making decent progress in Nioh and at the moment i'm slowly working through the first quest zone in NG+. A couple of new mechanics open up at this point (Divine gear, Guardian Spirit Enhancements etc), so i've been researching how they work so i don't shoot myself in the foot later. I'm currently trying to work out the best way to tackle all 3 of the DLC expansions too. My main goal over the next couple of evenings and the weekends is to basically keep playing through the main game on harder difficulty for the extra levels and skill points. I also want to work on weapon proficiencies too, I think basic swords and the spear really fit my play-style but I know a few folks who swear by the heavy axe. So once I've got my proficiencies maxed out in everything, I can commit to something a little more long term for weapon use. I'll be honest, Nioh has been one of those games that i've picked up and put down a few times now and never really enjoyed it. But for some reason, this time i picked it up and it clicked. I think in hindsight i didn't do my research and I didn't use the things the game wanted me to use as much as I should - e.g I rarely used my Guardian Spirit, the Ki (stamina) Pulse for quickly regaining it or manage stance changes properly. I think I get on way better with this game now that I actually worked some of those mechanics into my general playstyle. Hope everyone is doing okay and i'm already enjoying reading everyone's updates. Thanks for helping to keep me sane during lockdown! Popular Post Static_Rook
Well, turns out I won't be as busy as I thought these next couple of months. Bad for the wallet, but at least I have more time for video games! Plus, Guilty Gear Strive got delayed until June and I was planning on putting some serious hours into that starting next month. So I'm adding some games to my list to bring it up to 10 total. Updated full game list: Batman Arkham Knight 50% Battle of the Bulge 0% Bioshock PS3 8% Dead Space 2 14% Dynasty Warriors 7 30%Forager 0% 23%Gris 0%Ratchet and Clank 0%Remnant From the Ashes 0% Ys IX Monstrum Nox 10% New games are italicized. I picked up Battle of the Bulge, Forager and Gris in the Indies Sale. I'm already playing Forager for the Kill Your Completion challenge and loving it so I might as well go for the 100%. Ratchet and Clank is free of course, and Remnant is a PS Plus game this month. The Remnant DLC was also on sale so I figured "why not?" I've wanted to play both games for a while now. This week has been all Forager so far. I was trying to finish Persona 5 Strikers for my 75th plat, but Forager took over once I started playing it. The in-game timer says I've played 20 hours in just four days, so yeah I've been enjoying it. I'm poised to take on the 4 dungeons, and I just need a few more Artifacts to complete the museum. I'm not thinking about the DLC trophies yet since I just started steadily making Electronics and Plastics, etc. I'll also go back to weekly updates since I'll have the time to do them again. They also help to keep me motivated, last few weeks of the Winter challenge aside. First real update will be Monday the 8th. See ya then! Popular Post Darling Baphomet
Finished my first game of the event, Outer Wilds! Spent the last 3 days fixating on it and being able to do nothing but play it, may or may not have wept like a baby at one point. I wasn't counting on knocking it out so quickly, so that definitely leaves me optimistic for how the rest of the event will go, especially since it's the first one I had to start from scratch, as well. Picking Ys VIII back up, probably ~25-33% of the way through the main story, but that's just an estimate based on my feeling of the pacing so far, and going to continue grinding Need For Speed Heat - unless I start focusing really hard on Ys VIII again I may start a shorter game on the side while I play those two. I guess I'll aim for ~weekly regular updates if I go platless, otherwise I'll update as I finish games. Popular Post Ocean_CJ
Finally got an update: Increased Dragon Quest Builders from 4% to 18% by finally getting started on the Cantlin chapter. I'm at the final island and all I need to do to get to the boss is build the Cantlin Shield. I got the place 3000 items trophy and managed to get lucky in getting Enemy Miner by luring a bunch of orange slimes and hammerheads into a pit.

Popular Post WishingLemon
Finished the second game on the list, another easy one but it's certainly a step above Dear Esther. It actually has a story, or enough of one to stay interested. And you can sprint. You can sprint in the walking simulator which makes all the difference. And it doesn't suffer for it. This is how walking simulators should be done and every future one I play will be held to the Ethan Carter standard. Didn't appreciate that there was a jumpscare section, although I never encountered the scare myself. I don't know if they removed it or I just got lucky, but just knowing that it *could* happen had me on edge. And here's the third finish. It's fun, one or two levels are pretty difficult but they're doable after a couple of tries. The second game is a massive improvement over this one though. More characters, more varied levels and the ability to throw stuff. The only reason to play the first game is because you really like Overcooked. Which I do. Heather342
@WishingLemon the Overcooked All You Can Eat game really polished up the original Overcooked and was a lot better, although you still can't throw items. It's supposed to be released on PS4 soon. I already played it on PS5 and it has a new trophy list which was fun to do ?
Popular Post SpacebarPlays
Only a very small update from me so far Basically just been playing Stardew Valley since the start but i freaking love this game, definitely one of my favorite of all time. Its a tad annoying that update 1.5 has added a ton of content that adds a ton more hours onto the platinum but i get to play the game more i guess Also, really annoyingly, unless update 1.5 has changed how one of the 'long' trophies works, one of my trophies bugged out when i was supposed to get it I have the disk copy though so i'll just downgrade to the original version and 'glitch' my way to that one as quickly as possible to get it done with. Stardew Valley - 17% -> 58% I'll probably try to complete that this week and then start playing some FF7 remake or possibly the new Assassins Creed

Popular Post MrPhrips
Update: Control is 92% and Goat Simulator is 57%. I had no idea the DLC trophies in Control are this bad. Trophies for "discovering hidden areas" should have been scrapped immediately as well as the collectable ones. They're not fun at all and the hidden areas don't bring anything new to the story, characters or lore of the game. Tthey don't introduce anything creative to the level either. It's similar to Star Wars Fallen Order to me. They had a "discover all locations" on the map style trophy which is worse than busy work. I understand kill ## with X attack/weapon as long as the number is low (100 people with shield rush in Control is too high, 10 or 20 would have been great), but I wish devs would be smarter with their trophies. They had a great idea with "Work Smarter, Not Harder" which adds fun ideas for combat and teaches the player a new trick. But I may swap out these games for something different cause right now they just feel like work. I really wish DLC wasn't included in this. I may have to swap them out for different games. On an unrelated note I did FINALLY get the Puppeteer platinum on PS3 after a 6 year gap, what a fantastic game. Such a shame it came out so close to the PS4 release and had very little promotion from Sony. If anyone is looking for a new game to play/plat I know it's on PS Now if you don't own a PS3. Though it is heavy with collectables which is a shame, but the game and story is wonderful. 14 hours ago, WishingLemon said: And here's the third finish. Overcooked - 100% Murdered: Soul Suspect - 0% I'd like to get Overcooked to 100 percent myself. Is it easy to do solo? Or do you need a partner to get the plat? Eathan Carter is on my list and has been one I've wanted to play for a long time as I love the walking sims and heavy story games. Also I really enjoyed Murdered: Soul Suspect. I think it got way too much hate when it released and people expected it to be something it clearly wasn't ever supposed to be. Don't expect crazy heavy action and you should enjoy it more. I always recommend it to friends because it's constantly on sale for about 3 dollars on the PSN. It was worth 30 bucks when I got it and certainly worth a play through.
