Popular Post dalailama1989
Hey there, now where the Trilogy is out, I made a little list and ranked the 20 Maps for myself and figured, some of you might want to do that as well After "all these years", Sapienza still stands the test of time. It being the second map overall, it was my benchmark for all this time and no other map could really make me change my mind about that. Also, I really loved the two DLC-Maps from H2. I hope most of you got the chance to play those. Generally it is spread between all three Games quite nicely, no game totally outranking the others. Sapienza (H1) New York (H2 DLC) Haven Island (H2 DLC) Whittleton Creek (H2) Dartmoor (H3) Mendoza (H3) Hokkaido (H1) Colorado (H1) Hawke’s Bay (H2) Berlin (H3) Santa Fortuna (H2) Marrakesh (H1) Miami (H2) Isle of Sgail (H2) Dubai (H3) Chongqing (H3) Paris (H1) Bangkok (H1) Mumbai (H2) C. Mountains (H3)

EIdain
I've only played Hitman 3 but of those levels I'd rank them: Chongqing Mendoza Dartmoor Dubai Berlin Carpathian Mountains Of the ones at the top I enjoyed the variety of the levels as well as the NPC's and the different ways you could eliminate them, but they're all great to be honest. The only one that felt a bit half baked was Carpathian Mountains. Though I would've preferred more unique targets and less quantity on Berlin. DrBloodmoney
This is incredibly difficult, as there are so many maps I really like that seem so far down the list, but I think this is my list (I'll edit at some point to add the two I have not got to yet!): I think the most striking thing, looking at the list now I have made it, is just how spread out all the games and DLC's are - no one game is markedly better or worse than others, which is a real testament to how strong the map design was right out of the gate, and how IOI never allowed themselves to slack at any point, whether in DLCs, or subsequent games. The total package as it is available now is a truly incredible achievement on their part, and I now firmly believe Hitman (as a full package) can reasonably hold a place in the conversation around 'Greatest Games of all Time'! 1. Berlin (Hitman 3) 2. Haven Island (Hitman 2 DLC) 3. Sapienza, (World of Tomorrow) (Hitman) 4. Dubai (Hitman 3) 5. Paris, (The Showstopper) (Hitman) 6. New York (Hitman 2 DLC) 7. Miami, (The Finish Line) (Hitman 2) 8. Bangkok, (Club 27) (Hitman) 9. Isle of Sgail (Hitman 2) 10. Hokkaido, (Patient Zero) (Hitman GOTY) 11. Chongqing (Hitman 3) 12. Santa Fortuna, (Three Headed Serpent) (Hitman 2) 13. Marrakesh, (A Gilded Cage) (Hitman) 14. Hokkaido, (Situs Inverus) (Hitman) 15. Sapienza, (The Author) (Hitman GOTY) 16. Mumbai, (Chasing a Ghost) (Hitman 2) 17. Whittleton Creek, (Another Life) (Hitman 2) 18. Himmelstein, (The Last Yardbird) (Hitman 2 - Sniper) 19. Bangkok, (The Source) (Hitman GOTY) 20. Marrakesh, (A House built on Sand) (Hitman DLC) 21. Whittleton Creek, (A Bitter Pill) (Hitman 2 DLC) 22. Sapienza, (Landslide) (Hitman DLC) 23. Colorado, (Freedom Fighters) (Hitman) 24. Dartmoor (Hitman 3) 25. Hantu Port, (The Pen and The Sword) (Hitman 2 DLC - Sniper) 26. Sapineza, (The Icon) (Hitman DLC) 27. Mumbai, (Illusion of Grandeur) (Hitman 2 DLC) 28. Colorado, (The Vector) (Hitman GOTY) 29. Columbia, (Embrace the Serpant) (Hitman 2 DLC) 30. Paris, (Holiday Hoarders) (Hitman Special) 31. ICA Facility, (The Final Test) (Hitman) 32. Hokkaido, (Snow Festival) (Hitman Special) 33. Miami, (A Silver Tongue) (Hitman 2 DLC) 34. ICA Facility, (Freeform Training) (Hitman) 35. Siberia (Hitman 2 DLC - Sniper) 36. ICA Facility, (Guided Training) (Hitman) Not yet played: TBC. Mendoza (Hitman 3) TBC. Different NPC targets? That's a big difference for different targets if so. My criteria is really based on the use of the map - i.e. how well the hit makes use of the clockwork world and the geometry of the level to make it interesting - an area in which the main Miami level does fantastically ( You have the Daughter who is a 'special target' in her car, turning into a 'roamer' throughout the public spaces after the race is finished, and her dad, who is a 'dweller' in his fortress (the research facility). There are a lot of potential ways to approach each of them, and ways to pull them out of their routines or interact with each other causing domino effects, and almost every square inch of the massive map can be used in different ways to achieve different results. The Silver Tongue hit, on the other hand, is in the same map, however, it is a single target, who never really moves from one very small, uninteresting section of the map (right beside the easiest exit) and 95% of the map is completely unused. His SOSA hit can be done in under a minute with ease, and there is very little interesting ambient dialogue or changes in routine. The map may be great, but in The Finish Line, it gets used. In A sliver Tongue, it doesn't.

Absolutely - My dismissal of A Silver Tongue should in no way be seen as a slight against the Miami map in general - frankly, the exact same hit could have been put into literally any of the maps that have a small car park area, and it would have been EXACTLY the same. That makes it a boring hit, not a boring map! Actually, it's worth noting that all 4 of these 'Special Assignment' free DLC levels (the ones that use existing maps from Hitman 2) do largely the same thing - a single target in a small, concentrated part of the map, but where 'A Silver Tongue' is worse (IMO) than 'A Bitter Pill', 'Illusions of Grandeur' and 'Embrace the Serpent', is that the small section of the map it takes place on is just not too interesting, and does not allow for much nuance. 'Illusions of Grandeur' take place in the Chawls, which are inherently more fun than a car park, 'Embrace the Serpant' has all the foliage, and is in a labyrinthine part of the level that is not really used in the main level, and 'A Bitter Pill' is just in one house, but has more incidental dialogue and a host of more interesting approaches to factor in. ICA Facility, (Guided Training) (Hitman) Great idea to include everything! I was thinking about it, but only went ahead with all the main locations/missions. To be honest, with the exception of all trophy-relevant Bonus-Missions from H1, I have played most of the other ones barely once or twice and don't have too much recollection of them. But now, with H3 as the "Main Hub" and all content from the last 5 years, it is the best time to replay them for the Challenges. Will do that in the upcoming days. (still amazed that H3 is only 60GB, while H2 was 125GB (and obviously has 6 locations less)) Edited February 1, 2021 by dalailama1989

NarcissusBaz
Hitman 3 locations, since they're fresh in my mind: 1. Dartmoor - my favorite map of all the maps in all the Hitman games. 2. Chongqing - reminds me so much of earlier Hitman games. Great atmosphere. 3. Dubai - astonishing views, great kills. 4. Berlin - since I live in Germany, it felt more personal and really appealed to me. 5. Mendoza - low on the list, but still an enjoyable level. 6. Carpathian Mountains - when I first saw the location on the list before playing the game, I nearly pissed myself. How amazing is that? Fucking Dracula mountains, snowstorm, dark moody atmosphere... the possibilities to make this level the greatest level of all time in video games are endless. The perfect ending to a 5-year long trilogy is here. And it's utter garbage: Spoiler Fucking train level?! You're giving me an honest to god corridor to wrap it all up? Oh f%#@ off.... Hieronymus_Kosh
I seem to be in the minority for my love of hawkes bay? i feel the hitman series could have benefited from a couple of small maps with single targets, I think the every map has to be huge reasoning is a result of the first games episodic nature, a shame they didn't change it up a bit, Romania is how not to do it btw, it reeks of laziness and time saving, guess they couldn't wait to get started on 007
