I'm so honoured that I was considered alongside guides of such high quality~! Reading through some of these has given me ideas on how to improve my own guide writing too, so a massive thank you to everyone who has written a guide this year~! You're not only helping players of the games, but also inspiring other writers too~! ? Honestly, I think every single guide listed in the opening post deserves to win, but I don't think me just reposting the whole list as my nominations will be helpful, huh? ? Overall GOTY The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - Overall Walkthrough This guide is so amazing, honestly. I'm still on the first Cold Steel game, but I already know how complicated it is to get the Platinums in these games, with so many things to keep track of on every chapter, so guides like this must be so complicated to make ? And yet the guide flows so well and makes it so simple for the readers. And the amount of original content in there is amazing too. There's a reason this guide is nominated in three different categories, and it deserves all of the wins ? Gameplay Troll and I - Collectible Guide Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time - Full Collectibles Guide (I wish more authors would timestamp their videos like this, and I've taken note to do this myself for any videos I make in the future, so thank you). Walkthrough This was very hard to narrow down as there are so many great entries here. The work every single author has done is incredible, honestly. I've totally been taking tips from all of these guides to improve my own writing ? The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV - Overall WalkthroughSpirit Hunter: NG - Platinum Walkthrough Niche Another category I really struggled to narrow it down, and I just can't narrow it down any further than these three (though honestly, even narrowing it down to these was incredibly tough as each of the others are perfect in their own way, and it's only minor things that separate them for me). I will vote for Legend of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel 4 for best walkthrough as I used it to get platinum and it saved my butt and made the game super enjoyable and stress free. Even if the way the nomination process occurred was reversed, I still probably wouldn't have played all the games that "should" be nominated and would be making arbitrary choices based on some level of preference. For me, I'm only going to consider games in the genres that I like because they will have a much better chance of me actually using them and that's why I love my RPG/JRPG guide makers out there. Fueling my drive to complete all these crazy games, powered by a legion of awesome people. Someday we'll get that 99% trophy completion with a stack of awesome RPG's. Someday. So these choices are based on what I see myself playing in the future and where I would go to look first for my guides. I'm a massive Tales fan but I don't have a PS3, so I can't see myself realistically playing that game unless a miracle happens. I'm also a HUGE Soulsborne fan and Demon's Souls is one of the first PS5 games I'll be getting, so that's why that guide got the priority over Tales of Graces F. </3 Please Bandai... make a Tales of Collection for the PS5. Please, please please!! Also the reason I voted Trials multiple times is because of some goofballs on Discord that decided it would be a great idea to introduce me to this series. I've since bought Trials of Cold Steel 2 & 3 with the plan to buy 1 & 4 and plat the whole series. So that's why I voted for it multiple times because not only is it very well done, I'll actually be using it when I do a plat rain on the Trials of Cold Steel series. Thank you so much for taking the time to put in the effort to make a guide of that level of quality. If I ever made a guide, that would be one I would reference for the quality I'd expect out of my own work. It ensures that the nominees have a certain level of quality at least. Like yeah, I'm sure there are some great guides that were overlooked, but I'd argue that was even more of an issue when people were nominating guides based on what they had personally used. Plus, when you start getting to the categories like formatting and original content, I think the guide team are more qualified to determine what counts as exceptional. Having a smaller selection for us plebeians to choose from is a lot more manageable and it's nice to we don't have to put a generic "I like this guide, it's very helpful" message alongside it for the vote to count anymore. ? But anyway, onto my votes... I had a hard time deciding on a lot of these, but for me personally, I knew I had to vote for the Trails of Cold Steel IV walkthrough/trophy guide for guide of the year as soon as I saw them pop up on the site. After Hasegawa retired from guide writing, I honestly wasn't expecting a walkthrough for Trails of Cold Steel IV, but not only did we get one, it looks every bit as detailed as Hasegawa's walkthroughs for the previous games. My mind will be at ease when I go to play the game since I won't have to worry about missing something. Excellent work jermthejerm and RaveNScythE18! EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that the Trails of Cold Steel IV trophy guide didn't meet the deadline to qualify for this year. In that case, just count my guide of the year vote towards the Trails of Cold Steel IV walkthrough. Looks like I'll have to vote for the trophy guide next year instead. ? Still, there's always another year. 475 guides is a whopping amount to sort through so hopefully all the nominees feel proud of their work even if they don't end up winning. I haven't played many of these games so me not picking something doesn't mean a great deal. I mainly went for the ones that seemed like I'd find easy to follow on top of looking like a lot of effort had gone into them, which all of them did. The standard has been absolutely incredible and all nominees should be very proud of their achievement. My nominations are as follows: GOTY: Divinity Original Sin 2 - Tactician and Honour Mode Walkthrough Absolutely staggering how all of the detail needed to complete the platinum in such a deep, complex game is laid out so simply. If anybody is interested in trying DoS2 and worried about the difficulty or complexity then use this guide. Not only will you be playing arguably one of the best RPGs ever but you will also be able to get a thoroughly enjoyable platinum trophy.
