Possible solution for PS3 no video over HDMI

Just sharing it here in case it helps somebody down the road.

 

Today got another used PS3 after I got unlucky with previous one. After plugin it in and setting up my account I disconnected the hdmi cable to use for another console (needed to deactivate the old one).

On reconnecting it back I had no picture. Tried resetting video settings, default factory settings, different cables, different tv but nothing helped.

 

Basically no matter what I did I was stuck with no picture, my TV saying resolution not supported and claiming in to be 480p. 

 

What solved it for me was noticing that one of the pins on the hdmi connector was slightly tilted and it was touching the pin next to it (very hard to see). After moving it a little bit it solved the issue.

 

Honestly after buying second PS3 in one week and it not working again I was about to lose it
