Weapon Leveling Up!

I've just finished my initial playthrough of the game and have achieved most of the trophies.

So now I'm starting my trek through levelling up and challenge mode.

I've got a few weapons already maxed out at level 5, but also some still only level 1/2.

My question is, Should I grind to get the other weapons up to level 4/5 before starting Challenge mode? Or will challenge mode alone be enough to level them from 1/2 to level 10?

Just keep playing the game and switching weapons.

 

I have played a few R&C games and the best strategy is to just play normally but only use weapons that aren't maxed out.

Can’t speak statistically, but switching to challenge mode feels like the better option. Even if you don’t hit L10 naturally, grinding out in the mode with the bolt multiplier has to be preferable to grinding out in the one without

Challenge Mode won't be enough for leveling up all weapons, but it's fine to grind weapons during Challenge Mode.

Once you hit challenge mode, head to the water treatment plant on Pokitaru.  

There is a spot where a ton of Ameoboids are next to a pool of water.

Kill em all, drown, repeat.

 

You should get everything to 10 in about an hour to 90 minutes.
