Most games will be okay if they don't have trophy patches, online gameplay, or DLC attached to their patches. The few that will be affected beyond that will be games that are buggy enough to the point that 'x' trophy will be impossible to achieve without updating. Those games are probably rare and I can't think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure somebody will come up with a few.

Also without Patch it is not possible to play any kind of DLC

That what i was thinking. If the trophyless game like Uncharted or a game with dlc trophies can't be patched the outcome is obvious, but someone here mentioned one of the Ateliers which didn't have dlc trophies, so 100% it's still obtainable. 

The point is the unobtainable thread will be a mess in 2 months and people who will post there should know about this differences.

In this case it doesn't help. I opened Castlevania yesterday to see how many dots I have on my world map. Turned on the PS3 just now and all that happened was my save data uploaded to the cloud.

Sadly no, I turned the game on yesterday to see if my saves loaded and didn't give a "your save file was from a later version" error. Thankfully they at least loaded

This is sad we're having to deal with this before the store even shuts down. Sony has turned into a joke over the last two years. I haven't bought a PS5 yet and have no plan to with how there handling customer service.

This isn't happening to every game. Just the ones confirmed in the main page as not downloading patches.

Well, this sucks big time. Booted and installed the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow game, beated two stages in chapter 1 and, for right now, no problems. The issue here is that i'm planning on purchasing both DLC chapters from the store. ¿Is this still reccomended? Also, tried to update from the disc menu and launched the message that the game is updated to it's latest version (most probably, a lie). Well, will have to wait.

If your PS3 shows version 1.03, go ahead and buy the DLC. If not, don't bother because you can't play it until the patching issue is fixed.

Game data utility and then click triangle and information. It will tell you the version. If nothing shows, it’s not on 1.03

 

 

On a side note, has anyone been able to check Tekken Tag 2 digital? That’s pretty much the only one I still want to do from the currently list. The physical will let you pend in an online lobby but will never find anyone, likely since it’s not patched

I have a question:

How do I know what's the latest version available? I tried a few games this afternoon and a lot of them said it had the latest version, although I don't know if there were any patches available before.

 

I tested the EU Disc versions. 

Those I remember it didn't update were:

- Dead Space

- Disney Epic Mickey 2

- Leisure Suit Larry

- Puppeteer

- The Saboteur

- TMNT: Danger of the Ooze

 

Those that got a Patch

- Castlevania Lord of Shadows (both)

- Asura's Wrath

- Metal Gear Rising

- Silent Hill Downpour

- Toy Story 3

 

EDIT: Found this list with games that don't have any patches after inserting the disc. So I removed these games from my test.

So I noticed the entry for Castlevania Lords of Shadow is updated to say "(original version)". Does this mean the US Collection disc is confirmed to have the patch included or am I being too optimistic?

Also does anyone happen to know what the patch for Lego The Lord of the Rings did? Would like to know if it fixed anything serious. Because if it was minor stuff then I can feel safe playing it when I get to it assuming this does not get fixed.
