Would i need to have DLCs actually installed before the shutdown?

When i buy DLCs, for example for a COD game. Would i need to have downloaded the dlc to the harddrive before the shutdown? Or am i good as long as i simply bought it?

You only need to have bought them, not downloaded them.

You must have DLCs in your download list in order to download them in the future. When Sony shots down the PSstore & the app (presumably) disappears, you can do the following:

At XMB, highlight Playstation Network & choose Account Management->Transaction Management->Download List. There will be everything that you ever downloaded (except Themes).

Purchasing items will add them to your download list, for people who think the download list is only a history of things that you previously downloaded.

I know, but if you purchase a Season Pass, sometimes DLCs will not appear (it didn't show for me at least twice) & you must download all DLCs one by one to add them to Download List. The method I mentioned above is best way to view, find & download everything you ever bought.
